One murder. Eight suspects. Such is the case when an elderly woman returns home from convalescing after a fall. Six of her neighbors provide a meal for her. Her two grandchildren are there to share it with her. One of those eight ended her life. But which one? And how? It is up to Cy and Lou to figure who did it, how, and why. The why seems easy. The who and how not so much.
Comical, cozy murder mystery with a little romance thrown in.
Always whimsical and comedic but this storyline was even more so. Can't believe I picked the wrong murderer again, I was totally fooled right up to the end. If you're look g for a good clean murder mystery, this one is for you. Can't wait for the next one.
I often can narrow down the murderer in books, but this one kept me guessing until the end of the book.it wasn’t Colonel Mustard in the Library with a Candlestick, but that would have been as close as any guess I had. Steven Demaree writes mysteries that not only grab your attention and keep you reading and guessing who the guilty person is, but have you laughing aloud at times.
A fun, quick read! Decent mystery! A wonderful surprise to those that follow this series---oh so clever! Yes, so much of the dialogue is corny, but it is part if the detectives charm. And almost every chapter mentions food, meals, or a restaurant ( Cheesecake Factory), but that's to be anticipated in a Demaree book. Looking forward to book 20 in the series!!
Thank you Steve for another Cy Dekker Mystery. It felt like coming home to friends as I read this mystery! I love the characters including Blue and as hard as I try I never can figure out who is the murderer. Keep it going - I read a lot of mysteries but as much as enjoy others - this is my favorite series. The worst part of the book is the ending - because the book is finished and I have to go find another book to read! Thanks again!
This was another funny “Who Done It?”. I’ve read all of the Cy & Lou murder mysteries and this is another enjoyable storyline... Interviewing of the suspects is always a hoot! Another great novel by Steve Demaree! Looking forward to the publication of book #20 in the Dekker Mystery series. RECOMMENDED
Love all of Steve Demearee’s books, especially the Dekker Mystery series. I’ve enjoyed every one and look forward to more. The writer’s style and humor are outstanding. The bantering is so believable and I can imagine myself as one of the character’s friends. So much fun!
This was a superb mystery and it was also hilarious! I almost rolled over laughing through boats of it. Thus has to be the best Cy Dekker mystery so far and I've lived them all! Great job!!!
I love the Dekker mystery series. Murder Logically Speaking is another good one. Yes, yes, and yes for answers to questions you've been asking of you follow this series. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you really need to read books 1-18.
These books just keep getting better and better. They are a light hearted murder mystery with no swearing or gore. They are funny though. Lou and Cy just bounce off each other they do make me laugh.
I have tried and tried to figure these books out. To no avail. I did figure out part of it but not the ending. I love these books, the characters and the stories. I love when By described the food.
