THE COMPLETE SERIES!

Welcome to Cedar Falls…
I thought the sign seemed a little too welcoming, but when you get the call to move from the goddess herself, you don’t get to be picky. I just wasn’t expecting my new home to be so rustic and…down on its luck. But, when you’re a witch, life can get pretty interesting…and dangerous. Especially when someone is killing the local coven. At least the chief of police is pretty hot, when he’s not accusing me of being the murderer.
Cedar Falls seems to have no shortage of hot men. With so many stunning men, why choose just one? Sorry, Chief. Let’s just hope I don’t get too distracted before I find the murderer, open my new bookstore, and help Cedar Falls become what it was meant to be…

Finished this, Kindle didn't update. Don't know when. Was disappointed because the first book had such a promising start, and the following books made the main character into such an idiot. The first book? She was actually sort of competent, but I wished she had made more effort to actually make her coven competent. Later books? She's a complete idiot so much of the time, and so are they. So many of the conflicts should not have happened at all, but characters had to be stupid. Way to make adults look like fumbling toddlers. I still enjoyed the worldbuilding and characters, even if they were highly flawed. Did not like the ending. It felt rushed and like the author couldn't figure out how to write herself out of a corner.

It was a fun series, and the background and overarching plots were pretty fun. Felt very much like a monster/problem of the week format. There were some odd issues, like consent was initially discussed for every male character added to the harem and then the discussion just stopped happening later on, it was just assumed that they were okay with more male characters being added. There were some odd issues with consent overall that made me personally uncomfortable-- like there were 1 or 2 public scenes that had background characters involved as spectators or were a little too public with people just watching or very capable of hearing. (2 different restaurant scenes, there's a scene in the bookstore where there are patrons in the store itself, Josie watches the FMC have sex or walks in on her multiple times..) something to keep in mind if that squicks you as a reader. The FMC has a sex toy in her at one point and it is turned on in a pretty inappropriate place and time.

Spoilers--I'll try to keep as vague as possible.
-- one MMC participates in a sex scene as a spectator while FMC has sex with a different MMC. He is dating someone else at this time, so.. MMC also is described as uncomfortable while FMC has sex with a different MMC during a car ride.
-- the Chief of Police regularly has the idiot ball during various plots. He performs an action in a way that I personally kind of find almost impossible to forgive, and the FMC forgives him fairly quickly for it. Their relationship is very hot/cold and he just holds the idiot ball when the plot needs him too.
--the FMC bonds 2 characters, and due to the bond, they feel affection for her and want to protect her. She did not bond them on purpose and was unaware of the side effects until they told her. this is treated as the same as one MMC performing a ritual "to provide incentive" to kill someone and he has full knowledge that it induces the desire to mate and that it can do this. Both are treated the exact same by the text, and the FMC is supposed to feel guilty that she gave him a hard time about the ritual.
--- one character is asexual and states she is asexual; she shares the FMC's arousal and orgasms. She appears to be fine with this, but, uh..
--- the FMC has a Jealousy problem, but it is lampshaded; she will talk about how she can be better than being jealous and either does or doesn't based on what the plot requires.
-- Josie's attraction to the FMC is really unfortunate in hindsight.
--- the whole story happens really quickly--like in the span of a few months. A marriage occurs between 2 people that have met for the first time during this time.
-- it gets to the point where everyone and everything is trying to kill the FMC. This does not stop her from having public sex haha.
--- she gets super Mary sue'd at the end and nearly every plot thread gets wrapped up nicely. Like, uh, super conveniently nicely.

It was a fun read and the ridiculousness just escalates as the series continued. I can't regret that I read it even if there problems.

So dang hilarious

Witty, sarcastic, and down right hilarious. I loved all of the characters and the writing and plots were fantastic. I just wish there were less plot holes and that all of the men didn't change so drastically. (Jason) went from big a-hole to pretty submissive basically over night. And with such a large harem I felt like she only really spent time with like 3 of them. There's a lot that was left unsaid (like how she had more than one god in her), the difference between her powers and her dad's. Other than that, I wish I could live in that town and just enjoy the insanity and entertainment.

I only got to the beginning of the second book and will probably get to it in the future, so, I'll write a review for each book since this is a complete 1-7 collection:

Book One: 4 ⭐️. I had fun with this, I though this was an interesting take on a reverse harem but, also, this isn't a typical reverse harem. Sure she gets with multiple guys but at the same time, this first book was really her starting to see one guy and sort of a second. I'm sure in future books it actually is a rh but for now, a tame one. Enjoyed this though and I like the aspects of the magic and other supernatural happenings in this world.

So awesome!

The perfect blend of humor, soft romance, and riveting plot twists! Lovin’ the Coven has a rapid fire plotline with new challenges placed before the FMC, Dot, at every turn! She is a bad*** witch with her own quirks and a solid stubbornness that frustrates those around her. Watching her overcome obstacle after obstacle while balancing her many relationships is awe inspiring!

The spice was phenomenal, with a hefty dose of exhibitionism that added a nice layer to the many encounters we get to enjoy!!

Loved it

I can honestly say there is nothing bad I could say about this series. Its totally engaging and I couldn't put it down. Dot and her guys (Chief, Jimmy, Shea, Dar, Ellis, Jason, and Dennis)had me totally hooked (and jealous to the nth degree). Josie and Candace were so sweet together. The older Blackwells and Yuki had me cackling. As for Herb and Marge how I wished they could have adopted me.
It brought a bit of every paranormal (except shifter unless you count Dar - the hellhound) 'race' you could wish for.

Story 5/5

Honestly...

Honestly, this is the second time that I have read this series and absolutely loved it as much this time around as the I did the first. It's a great story with fantastic characters and some seriously laugh out loud moments. It's everything you could possibly want in a series! My only sadness is that I haven't seen anything new by this author in a long while. For the author, whatever path you have chosen, I wish you well but I must admit that I miss your creative mind and wonderful stories.

Loved everything

This was an excellent story and the characters were absolutely hilarious. I laughed so hard. I binge read the whole set and could read more. I loved jimmy. Omg that guy is just perfectly pervy in all the right ways, so funny. The banter between characters is hilarious and relatable. Just read this series already!!!

Fun and funny

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The humor, the characters, the wicked hoot sex scenes, the humor and the sex. All great.

I took one star off because it really could use a copy editor. If that doesn’t bother you, you’re going to have a bash with this one.

Fun Read

I loved that this book had a well developed plot. The book moved along at a good pace and even though there was a lot going on, it flowed well from page to page. I was almost a little put out when it ended, because I was enjoying the characters and the storyline.

Box set

I enjoyed the plot of the stories a lot and the characters but the random baby talk during normal conversations, the purposefully childish pronunciation of words was very annoying. It pulled me out of the book each time it happened.

Loved every second

This series brings laughter and tears, triumph and heartbreak and makes you want to dive in time and time again. Every character is written superbly and each resonates with you on different levels. My all time favourite read, I'm going to miss Dot and the gang!

❤️

I had actually forgotten the name of this book series. I had to ask the book group I am in by describing the strawberry dinner scene. I am glad I remembered and asked because I never got to read the last two books. It was a good ending.

Could have ended better

The story was good but the last book felt rushed and the ending to me could have been better. And epilogue would have been nice.

Oh my goddesses! I LOVE this series! It's one of my favorites to re-read and binge read. So I HAD to buy the box set. It's nice to have all seven (7) books in one place. Also included are some alternate point of view scenes and bonus scenes, which are at the end of the individual books. I wish there were a couple of bonus stories, too. Where is "Truth or Dar?" I read it in the Snow Men anthology, but it's not in this collection.

Each and every book is laugh-out-loud funny, action-packed, faced-paced, and the love scenes are mind-blowing. I love the banter between Dot and her friends. There are so many HILARIOUS exchanges and one-liners. Dot's coven - and harem - grows with each book. I like how the stories are character-driven, but the action never stops. Jacquelyn Faye has created such a wonderful community of supernaturals and humans in Cedar Falls, that I want to move there.

I am so happy with how the series has ended, but I am unhappy that it's over. It's been one crazy, hot, epic ride! There have been murders, zombies, ghosts, vampire attacks, road trips to other planes, a demon invasion, mean angels, insane villains, and a whole lot of sexy times. The final battle in this fabulous series was a nail-biter. I might have used a couple of tissues...

Dot is not the same witch as in book one. I loved watching how most of the characters have grown and changed through the series. I have all kinds of warm, fuzzy feelings for the coven. I'm going to miss the bookstore, Bunyan's steakhouse, the Cedar Falls Diner, and Marge & Herb.

There still are a lot of typos. This series has some minor punctuation problems (i.e. missing periods, quotation marks, etc.) along with the usual misspellings. It's a little distracting at times, but the stories are so good that I never stopped reading.
