When Bree is bothered by a man who doesn’t accept rejection, Slade steps in. This is the start of Galahad and his Peaches. Unfortunately, it’s also the end as Bree knows what it's like to love and lose. After watching her mom mourn her dad for decades, the depth of Bree's own feelings this soon overwhelms her. So she walks away, and regrets it every day after that.
Slade refuses to believe that’s all there is for them. Enlisting the help of an FBI agent friend, he begins searching for her, all the while knowing the odds of finding her are slim since they never shared their real names.
Fate has plans for them, and their story isn’t finished.
When Slade and Bree unexpectedly cross paths again, neither wastes the chance they’ve been given and eagerly explore what could be. Bree is still worried, but she’s willing to give it a try. Not that Slade would let her go. But there are obstacles standing between them and a happily ever after.
Someone is intent on revenge, an enemy neither saw coming, and Slade must once more fight for Bree.
I do enjoy a dash of suspense once in a while and I have to say, I didn’t see the ending coming! A random night between two strangers leaves them wishing they had each other’s info. Months go by yet neither forget. Fate has a funny way of putting you where you need to be!
-no cheating -no ow drama -om drama - a guy the heroine went on a date with causes drama -no there after meeting -no violence of a sexual nature -epilogue a couple months and 15 years later
Ah! I love Galahad and Peaches story. They are fun, flirty, sexy and totally made for each other, there are numerous times they had me laughing out loud at their hilarious antics or crazy conversations. I did feel slightly disappointed that after all the build up the 'incident' seemed a little rushed, I do however see that the emotional impact on Slade and the repercussions of that were as much a focus of the story as the incident itself. I really enjoyed this visit to Tarpley and hope there will be many more in the future, I am really hoping that Gretchen gets her book, please, please, please! As with the rest of this series I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Fighting for Bree is the third book in the Season 2 of the Tarpley Volunteer Fire Department series. Slade comes to Bree’s aid when a guy will not accept Bree does not want to date him. Bree calls him her Galahad and Slade calls her Peaches. They wonder if they will meet up again. Circumstances change and they both find themselves in Tarpley. Their romance was turbo-charged. You have to read this book to find out what I mean. This book has lots of fun moments, then the tension builds. The ending was not what I expected. Which of course I enjoyed. I like authors who can surprise a reader by doing something different. Recommend this book.
Really enjoyed the story, the found soulmate, the closeness of Slade and Bree, the suspense and unexpected twist in resolution. The three epilogues were different but a great wrap up of everything and everyone. I could have done without so very many intimate scenes, sometimes I found distracting from the 'story'. Overall good book.
Slade and Bree had a one night stand, without actually giving their real names. Then afterwards they both wanted to get back together, but without any real names it was not happening. Finally Bred sees a picture of her sister -in-law and figures it out. Then his friend Cruz gets a match from the picture Space had of Bree.
He has never forgotten his Peaches when he finds out she lives in the city he is moving too he is over joyed seeing her he grabs her to have sizzling romance they both have people writing letters to them her stalker takes her but the guy helps her escape soon after he asks her to marry him they have a happy ending I love the epilogues
Fighting for Bree: Wonderful and hot romance with lots of excitement. It had great surprises and suspense. I like that quite a few men and women volunteer at the fire department no matter what their careers are. I liked that Slate was a writing because it gave his character little mystery to him. I really enjoyed their story.
This is a love story from beginning to end. Both main characters are being stalked but nothing comes from it. This story is full of hot and heavy bedroom scenes. Which I love but not every chapter. Slade is one sexy main character, Bree is sassy and sweet. I enjoyed their banter but I wished for more suspense, angst and mystery. Happy Reading!!
What a great love story with just the right amount of mystery and suspense to keep you guessing. I am usually pretty good at figuring out how things will end but I was way off base with this book. Thre three epilogues were so fabulous. I love getting glimpses into characters' futures. Slade and Bree. AKA Galahad and his Peaches, may be my favorite couple of Tarpley VFD season 2.
Loved Bree and Slade. Enjoy how you bring back the players from previous books. You make Tarpley a town you would love to live in but are wondering what will happen next. I want more ...... Keep us going back to Texas.
This was a cute story. I loved both the hero and the heroine. It was funny at times yet had suspense. And some steamy scenes. Safe not with others after meeting. Good epilogues.
Really enjoyed reading Bree, like that all the characters are interwined with each other in some way or another. Like seeing the new characters and some old favorites. Was a good read.
Slade meets Bree at a bar. He was there to meet someone. He is a writer and someone wanted to talk to him about a case. Bree is trying to get away from Mark and he is not backing off. Slade comes to her rescue. Slade and Bree are reunited after a couple of months. They both missed each other but since neither knew each other's name, they didn't know where to look. Slade even asked Cruz for help. Slade and Bree are both receiving threats. Bree has even been pushed off the road. Now they need to find out who it is because now she is missing.
