DNF at 9%.
I couldn’t get past the first chapter. Ace’s inner dialogue is so cringe, not because of the character, but because he is written like a caricature. A bad caricature. I get that he’s supposed to be a sexist ass, but even they are significantly less juvenile in their inner dialogue.
There is not a single thing that compels me to continue with this book.

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander. I loved this novella. I love anything Phoebe Alexander writes so it was no surprise. The only thing is was too short for me! Its the story of Ace Bennett who is a comedian and his career is just starting to take off. When he goes to the bank one day he meets a cute teller named Ella Craig. He is smitten. Ella is very wary of Ace because she thinks he might be a player so she tells him no to going for a drink. When he makes a bet with her that she will laugh at his comedy show and if she laughs she has to have a drink with him. When Ella's friends get involved and tell her he is trouble the whole things starts to fall apart. Can Ace prove to Ella he won't hurt her? Read A Hole to find out!

I loved this book. This author has continued to impress me with her writing skills and attention to details. This book is no different. I loved being pulled into the story from the beginning. The characters bring the story to life and made it pop. They are connectable and engaging. This is a fast paced story about Ella and Ace. They have a chance meeting but Ella is a little worried about going out with Ace. He makes her laugh but there are rumors about him. What will happen when friends interfere in the relationship? What will fate have in store for them? This is a great story that I highly recommend. You won’t regret picking up this romance story and you will want to find out what happens to Ace and Ella.

A Hole by Phoebe Alexander a five-star read that will surprise you. This is number one in the Alpha Bet guys series and I can’t wait for more. This was such fun to read, I could have read so many more pages, but honestly, I think the amount just topped it right, it felt easy to read. It just has it all, comedy, drama and spice.

Ace Bennett is an Ace Bennett is a comedian who is coming back from NY & moving to Philly to make a smash with his act. Though comedian's can be isolated or put on a mask of their true feelings. Like a mask to hide their vulnerability. Or they can build an A hole of a reputation of.
When Ace meets Ella Craig who is bank teller which is in the same building as his apartments he shares with his buddies. He makes excuses to visit the bank to see & chat with Ella. He is vulnerable but eventually gets the nerve to ask Ella out. Ella refuses, she has not had the best of luck with men. It doesn't help when her BFF Cara was treated like garbage when she had a one-night stand.
Ace invites her to his comedy show. Which is where the bet starts if he makes her laugh. She will go on a proper date with him.

Ella goes to the comedy show but not with an open mind. She her friends have provided their two cents based on a mistaken identity. Based on what Cara her BFF says. She devices a plan to find out if he is a good kisser. Then bur raid Ace about his behavior to her BFF. Instead, she does more than just kiss him. She has her one-night stand & then uses him. Unfortunately, it's not always good to believe what you hear. Even from a BFF, who might have been slightly drunk when making the accusation of Ace reputation.

When the truth comes out about what really happened the night Cara was at a party. It's a
mistaken identity. Yes Ace & Cara met the night of the party. But it didn't click so he left. She later hooked up with his buddy, who happens to look like Ace.
Now the soft, shy hearted Ella feels horrible that she accused & treated him badly knowing that he really liked her. Truth is Ella really was falling for him too. Can she make it up to Ace? Or has she hurt his pride & emotions? 1st she has to get Ace to stop avoiding her. She needs to catch him off guard. It's time Ella bite the bullet & talk to him before he goes on his next set.
What will happen with Ace and Ella? Who is the real A Hole in the plot?
Great main characters and of course the supporting characters were awesome too. I want to read what happens to some of the other characters in this series.

I was a little worried when I read the description of this story because it didn’t really grab me, and I thought that I was going to be bored. Happy to report that I wasn’t, this story is funny and sweet and absolutely delivers on its promise of a good laugh. I actually think it's quite difficult to write genuinely funny stories, but Alexander nails it.
Ace is a comedian and Ella Craig is a bank teller, not exactly what everyone would call a match made in heaven, but Ace thinks she’s wonderful and wants her to realise how wonderful they could be together. He invites her to one of his comedy shows and bets her that if he can make her laugh then she has to go out for a drink with him. But Ace’s four friends, with their best intentions and somewhat questionable advice, may threaten to put a spanner in the works for their budding romance.
I genuinely liked this book and Alexander writes her characters with flair, Ace’s narrative was quippy and fun and was perfect for a cheeky comedian. With Ella’s narrative her you definitely got her sensitive side and her reluctance to trust people, and she is funny too. It’s a lot subtler and less in your face than Ace’s which I think I preferred. Again, I recommend this story and would read more of Alexander’s work especially if I want a laugh.

A HOLE (Alpha Bet Guys #1) by Phoebe Alexander

This is the first book I've read by Alexander but it won't be my last. A Hole is a fantastic start to the Alpha Bet Guys Series. Alexander is a great author and I can't wait for the next one.

Ace has left his life behind in New York and comes back to Philly. There he finds that a certain bank teller has caught his eye. When he's mistaken for someone else things are blown up. The quote I chose for Ace is: “Wow, thanks for that. Comparing me to a damn isotope. I hope you know that’s going in one of my stand-up routines.”

Ella isn't sure what Mr. Bennett wants with her. She knows he's an a**hole, but what happens when she starts falling for him. She goes to her besties sister and finds that she had him mixed up with someone else. The quote I chose for Ella is: “Well, wouldn’t it be hilarious to get back at Ace for what he did to Cara by pulling the same nonsense? Making out with him and then forgetting who he is? What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right?”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

I definitely enjoyed reading Phoebe Alexander’s A Hole. This read was so cute, funny and swoon worthy. A Hole
Is about a comedian named Ace Bennett who has a crush on Ella Craig who is bank teller for a bank which happens to be on the same building as his apartment. He makes excuses to go into the bank and Ella knows it. Finally one day Ace gets up the nerve to ask her out but she turns him down. He then asks her to come to his comedy show and there is a bet made. Ella goes to the comedy show with an opinion about Ace she had gotten from her friends. She has a plan in place. She just wants to find out if he’s as good of a kisser and she is told. Sometimes you can’t believe everything you hear. Sometimes things don’t happen the way you think they do. What will happen with Ace and Ella. Is he really the A Hole she was warned he is?
Such a great story. Great main characters and of course the supporting characters were awesome too. I hope there are more reads coming with the rest of the characters

A Hole is book one in the Alpha Bet Guys series by the sensationally talented Phoebe Alexander. There is nothing better than humour and wit to titillate the literary taste buds. From start to finish this story had me totally bewitched. Ace was a desirable and funny character and Ella was just the perfect heroine. It was such a delight to read about an enviable and real sounding character. Not a barbie type that is totally unrealistic and doesn't fit the story at all. Ella was perfect for Ace but meddling friends that mean well, but cannot help throwing in their two cents worth. A Hole was deeply addictive and empowering, all at the same time. I love nothing more than a feisty leading lady showing the leading man that she is strong, independent, but arousing as all get out. An irresistible combination that is difficult to drag oneself away from. A short, sexy and all out entertainer. A Hole ticked all the boxes for me. Great to read this amazing author's work, once more. 5 stars.

A Hole by Phoebe Alexander is book one of the Alpha Bet Guys series.

Ace is working on getting his comedy career off the ground. When he meets Ella, he can’t help his reaction to her. When she shoots him down for a date, he has to think fast. He decides to go with a bet. If he can make her laugh, she has to get a drink with him. She agrees thinking she doesn’t have much to lose. After talking to her friends, Ella forms a not so favorable opinion of Ace though, she does want to see if he can kiss like people say he can. Will Ella stick to her preconceived opinions or will she give Ace the chance to show her he may not be the A Hole she thinks he is?

This book was very well written. The characters are realistic and relatable. The story will definitely give you some laughs. I really enjoyed this book!

What a funny story. This is a full length novel filled with laughter and romance

Ella works in a bank as a teller. This really gorgeous man has come to her window many times. She tries to brush him off, but secretly she fights back her smile and remains professional. Ace is a comedian and has fallen hard for the bank teller. They are about to interact, but that is as much as I am going to say. No Spoilers here. Read the book and laugh out loud just like I did.

Phoebe Alexander you have done it again. Your stories never disappoint. This one had me laughing on the first page and just kept coming. I love her characters and their pranks. OK I loved the romance as well. The writing is smooth and really draws you in. If you like comedy and romance you will love this story. Well done Phoebe Alexander! Well Done!

A Hole is another awesome book written by Phoebe Alexander .
Both the main characters and supporting characters had their own strengths which made it a wonderful book to read. We meet Ace who is an upcoming comedian who likes Ella a lot. Ella works in the bank in the same building where Ace lives. Ace has been building up the courage to ask Ella out on a date. When Ella turns him down, she is invited to his comedy show. Ace makes Ella a bet that he can make her laugh. Will she take him up on the bet? If you enjoy reading books by Phoebe you sure will not be disappointed by this one. As with her other books it is well written and the story flows beautifully. If you are a Phoebe fan you will love this book, if you haven’t read anything by Phoebe go get this book and get to know her storylines you wont be disappointed.

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander

5 Stars

This was a fun quick read and keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next. It’s the first in a new series by Phoebe Alexander and I already can’t wait to read the rest of them, especially if it continues on with the different characters that are in this one. While I normally prefer a longer book with more meat to the story this one had everything needed to feel the connection that formed and also with the inner dialogue for each of the main characters I was able to understand each of them. I laughed out loud more than once while reading and really hope Ace and Ella show up in the next story as well so we can see how they are doing.

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander was a great 5 star read.

Ace is a comedian who meets Ella while at the bank, he has been trying to work up the nerve to talk to her. He tries to flirt with her and use his charm on her to get a date but she declines. When Ace asks her to make a bet, it works and she agrees to come to his show.

Will Ace be successful in getting Ella to go out with him? Can they have a HEA?

Overall this was a fun read. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I had several LOL moments as well. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in and it’s done before you know it. I look forward to reading more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1)
By Phoebe Alexander
5 stars

Yet again another 5 star read from Ms Alexander – I never bother reading the synopsis to her books now I just grab it and go because I know it’s going to be a great read and A Hole was no exception. It’s a great start to this new series and although one of this authors shorter books it was in no way lacking her sparkle. It was funny and entertaining, I loved the characters Ace and Ella, and they were so great to read about. Ace captured my heart form the beginning and I just knew Ella wouldn’t be able to resist him! I was rooting for them the whole way through the story!
I’m really excited for the next book in the series!! I highly recommend this book!!

A Hole is the first book in a new series by Phoebe Alexander. The series is called the Alpha Bet Guys. Each book is about 1 of a set of 5 alpha guys who like to make bets.
I’ve been a huge fan of Phoebe Alexander’s work for a couple of years now and just knew that I was going to love reading A Hole.
The ‘A’ in A Hole is Ace, a comedian who has a massive crush on the bank teller in the building he works in but the thing is her friends has told her he’s an A hole! But is he really?
This is a funny, hot steamy romance that I’m sure you’ll love if that’s the kind of book you enjoy. It is a novella so it’s not a long drawn out story. It’s fast and flows well and I can guarantee that you’ll be hooked to Ace and Ella’s story.

Ace is just getting his career on the comedy circuit but once he sees Ella in the bank he feels he needs to get to know this woman.

Ella is flattered with the attraction and accepts the bet which Ace has placed down but when her friend explains that Ace maybe a player, Ella's decision changes.

This story is full of humour and is a brilliant short story, the characters are well developed as usual and although this is a short story it does not feel like that, you want to know more. The story revolves around Ella and Ace, with him trying to make her laugh but with her insecurities on high alert as to will she be the butt of the joke.

I love Phoebe's writing style and this is not the first book I have read and it surely will not be the last one.

What a cute little novella! A Hole is the first book in the Alpha Bet Guys series by Phoebe Alexander. 78 pages of laughter and love. Ace is an up and coming comedian whose career is just starting to take off. Ella is this curvy bank teller that doesn’t know what to think when it comes to Ace. Her friends are trying to dissuade her from giving Ace a chance. What do you think she will do and do you think Ace will back down? This book is full of great comedy and great characters. I was a bit skeptical at first but as I started reading I found myself not being able to put the book down! I read this so quickly and wanted to read more. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! I would recommend this book to anyone!

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander

Book one in the series and I'm ready to start the second since I know it will be as good as the first.  I loved this book!  I laughed more times than I expected and I then needed to take a break from reading to refocus.

Ace was amazingly charming and seemed a bit bashful while trying to charm Ella.  His friends were entertaining and I'm looking forward to reading the stories about how each one of these boys falls.

I love how confident Ella's was for being a curvy woman  I know there are a lot of curvy women out there with an amazing amount of confidence, but I'm not one of them.  I could only dream of having Ella's confidence.

I have been fortunate enough to read several books by Ms. Alexander and she hasn't disappointed me yet.

I had high hopes for this book and was really in need of a pick me up with some light hearted flirting, a little bit of stream and humour. This series was completely jam packed with all of those things and I LOVED it! I loved all the characters in this series, I think they were beautifully developed in such a short space of time and you could really relate to a lot of them. I loved how curvy women were represented, as so often we see beautiful women described as being thin and athletic. I though it was lovely to have curvy women celebrated in such a positive way. I really do not have a bad word to say about any of the stories in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of reading these books and look forward to reading more just like this.

I have yet to find a novel by Phoebe Alexander that I didn't just love to death from beginning to end. I was super excited to get my hands on this first novel of a fun and romantic comedy series from her. A Hole kicks things off perfectly and brings us all the details that will hook us for the rest of the series. I typically worry with novellas that I just won’t have enough to thoroughly get to know the characters, but that is not the case here. We meet Ace and Ella and the journey they take to find their happily ever after. I found myself laughing out loud literally as I read this and came away feeling as if I made new friends. I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of this series!

A Hole Phoebe Alexander is a highly entertaining novella by one of just favourite authors. This book is pure gold from start to finish in terms of comedy but also has a strong storyline and interesting characters. For me this was one of those books that I just had to read in one sitting. Once I started reading I just couldn’t stop. Phoebe Alexander again has written an instant hit. I loved the characters in this book. The connection was clearly there but with others getting involved it meant that the road to happiness wasn’t quite straight forward. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would urge everyone to read it immediately - as well as anything written by this incredible author!!

A Hole is the first book in the new Alpha Bet Guys series by Phoebe Alexander. In typical Phoebe Alexander style this story was a fun, sexy, witty and very entertaining story. It’s a novella length contemporary romance/ romantic comedy, making it easy to read in one very enjoyable sitting.
Ace Bennett is trying to make a name for himself as a comedian. He meets Ella and we watch as he tries to win her over. Add some meddling friends to the mix, a few misunderstandings, a little angst, plenty of chemistry, humour, and a whole lot of heat- and this really made for a fun read.
Happy reading!

Thank you, Phoebe Alexander!

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun and steamy novella by one of my favourite authors, Phoebe Alexander. I loved the main characters, comedian Ace Bennett and Ella Craig, the lady he invites to his comedy show. Ace then dares Ella that if he succeeds in making her laugh she has to have a drink with him. I was really cheering Ace and Ella on hoping they would get a happy ending after lots of meddling from friends and a number of misunderstandings. This was a lovely romance with a bit of drama and plenty of steamy scenes and a chemistry which sizzled off the page. All of which resulted in me reading the story in one sitting. An enjoyable and engaging short read, perfect for some escapism.

4-star

A Hole by Phoebe Alexander is the first book in the Alpha Bet Guys Series and is a must read by this author. I am always a huge fan of this authors writing and this book was no different, I loved the detail, the witty characters, the humour and of course the steamy moments.

This was a fast read, the ending seemed to come much too quickly as I had easily connected with the characters so I really look forward to reading more from this series ASAP. This is a book I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for their next romance read!

Short and sexy. If you are looking for a quick romantic pick me up, this is the one. Ace and Ella are the cutest! I love the way he went after her and stopped at nothing until he had a chance. Ella is very hesitant but I love that she takes a chance on love and with Ace. With a whole bunch of misunderstandings and miscommunication my frustration level with them was at a high. They are perfect together, and when the book ended I wanted more, more of Ace and Ella and more of Ace’s friend group. As always from this author, perfect.
