Sometimes, the greatest crime, the one that strikes the most fear, is those that happen where you live. DCI Darren Mitchell learns that first hand when a mysterious woman is found badly injured at the bottom of the stairwell of his residential building. No one seems to know who the comatose young lady is, but all signs point to foul plan. As the victim can't speak for herself, Mitchell takes it upon himself to find the truth and bring justice close to home.
Oliver Davies was born in Sussex and raised in London, but never felt at home until he settled in the soggy but beautiful Yorkshire dales. Brought up on crime novels borrowed second-hand from his dad, he's always wished his life involved less laundry and more car chases, though writing is probably safer. Between tussling with his several dogs and rambling the moors, Oliver finds time for writing moody police detectives, playing the guitar, and occasionally even communicates with the outside world.
I am really enjoying this series so easy to read and decent characters.Good police storylines but without the usual violence that todays crime books are filled with.I look forward to the next in the series.
