That was just absolutely not enough. I can’t wait for more of Scarlett and Max after that little taste. And what a taste it was!! Gimme gimme with all the grabby hands!!

Great prequel to what promises to be a stellar story by Emma Nichole. The story ticks lots of my favorite trope boxes: employee/boss romance, age gap, crazy ex bound to make trouble. Yes, please!
Ms. Nichole is one of my favorite contemporary authors. Her characters are always interesting and the story lines intriguing.
Scarlett works for Max, at one of the top architectural firms in the country. The attraction has been brewing for a couple years, since she was hired fresh out of school. Max is all protective alpha and Scarlett is no shrinking violet. She gives as good as she gets, and despite their age difference she wants him as much as he wants her.
Taking on an important project pulls Max and Scarlett together, alone in his office, and their chemistry is off the charts. Sadly, the shrew of an ex is still hanging around, no doubt to cause Max trouble. Kisses are stolen in secret, pearls are clutched in private, and the story seems to end just when things are heating up. This couple definitely makes me want more of their story. What a great lead in to the rest of the story, what could possibly go wrong?

What a tease! I loved it! This is a must read for work place romance fans. Max is Scarlett's boss. She gets picked to work on a special project. With them working close together, sparks begin to fly. Those spark lead to a steamy as hell moment in Max's office. But there are complications. Scarlett's work place friend seems to show feeling more than friendship. Max is dealing with an ex wife who is making his life hell at home and in the office. They have to decide if it's all worth it. I loved these two together. I really loved how Max really believes in Scarlett's potential. Remember, it's a tease. It's a prequel to Open Negotiation, which is coming later this year. I can't wait for it. I am totally invested. People that are scared of cliffhangers. Don't worry. This one gives you enough to keep you holding on.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Effective immediately is a novella in the ‘’NSFW’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. Effective immediately is the first book of Emma Nichole’s that I have read. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Scarlett has been attracted to her boss for a while. Max wants his employee but with a wicked ex wife and a big age gap, will it happen?
The chemistry between Max and Scarlett is clear to see and I liked what we got to see.
I really liked the ending for this story; I cannot wait for their next book.

Oh my goodness, this was soooo hot! Scarlett has had an almost unbearable attraction to her boss, Maxwell from the beginning. There has never been such an attractive, intelligent man ever in her mind. She hopes and prays that her crush isn't obvious but never thought it could go anywhere. Max has wanted his employee Scarlett for so long but it wasn't appropriate. She is just so gorgeous and talented that he has to take a chance that she could feel the same. This had the thrill of the forbidden and the tension of his ex making trouble. The attraction between them was consuming. Effective Immediately was hands down amazing, I couldn't help but read it in one sitting!

Mixed feelings
Serious mixed feelings about this one. This is a first time read from this author for me. Great storyline and characters. Very well written. But this should not have been presented as part of a quick read series. This is really a prequel or introduction to a longer story the author plans to publish in the future. The ending is abrupt and story is not finished. Although I enjoyed what I’ve read so far....I won’t return for the conclusion.

Emma Nichole knocked it out of the park with this short, sexy prequel to what I expect to be a wonderful new series!
Scarlett and Max are scorching hot together, and their chemistry is undeniable. I've already got my eyes set on the continuance of their story in Open for Negotiation. With the set up from Effective Immediately, I know there will be tension, heat, and all the feels.
We got a small taste of that here in Effective Immediately, and it was awesome!

That was good, Max and Scarlett. Miranda, why is she trying to destroy Max, why? Scarlett girl you are in the middle of it, I hope Garrett is a good friend to scarlett, I just don't trust him. Scarlett getting freaky with her Boss Max, I hope they find love and happiness in the end. I can't wait to finish reading their story on September 10, 2021.

Effective Immediately was a great little prequel/teaser for Emma Nichole's next book, Open for Negotiation (releasing in August- available for preorder now!). I loved this introduction to Max and Scarlett~ and their attraction was very evident already! I cannot wait for more!!

I absolutely can't wait for more from these two characters as the glimpse of them we got in this story was absolutely incredible. Another quick read in this series that will absolutely leave you wanting more.

A very good book
Enjoyed reading this book very much. It's interesting to see how Scarlett and Max's romance grows. He's got a witch of a soon to be ex-wife. We'll see how that goes. Can't wait for the next segment. Thanks for such a good book. :)

Is it hot in here?
Wow! I love a good office romance and Max and Scarlett are hot! Not only do they have electrifying chemistry but the age gap was a surprise as well. I can't wait to read more of them!

4.5 STARS!
Very short read (duh it's a novella). Can't wait to continue Duke and Scarlett's story, the little glimpse of steam is something I'm really looking forward to.
