Space is cold. But the heart of an Omega Captain is colder still
The Sa’Nerra have breached Fleet’s front-line and are pushing toward Earth with an invasion armada. In its vanguard is the super-weapon known simply as Titan - a ten-kilometer-long battleship capable of destruction on a scale never seen before.
With G-sector already surrendered to the enemy, Fleet reforms and prepares to guard the only interstellar aperture that links the colonies to Earth. But Captain Lucas Sterling knows that without a way to counter the Sa’Nerran neural control weapon, there is no way to stop the alien warriors from pushing deeper into Fleet space.
With the alien invasion armada poised to cut off access to the Void, Captain Sterling and the crew of the Invictus must go against their orders and once again venture into this stellar no-man’s land alone.
Sterling knows that disgraced and exiled Fleet scientist, James Colicos, may be humanity’s only hope to stop the invasion. But in order to find him, the Invictus has to venture beyond the Void and into Sa’Nerran space itself. The last time a Fleet ship burrowed too deeply into the aliens’ territory, it started a war. Now, Captain Sterling and his Omega officers must violate the enemy’s heartland once again.
Except this time, Sterling is not looking to start a war – he is trying to end one. The Exile is book three of the new Omega Taskforce military sci-fi series by G J Ogden. I liked the author's use of the Space marshals in the void💫 being wild West type characters with old West names and their own idea of laws and law enforcement. He also used Christopher Fletcher, a mutineer Fleet ship captain, in a hat tip to Fletcher Christian,(1764-1793) the mutineer mate on the sailing ship, HMS Bounty.⛵
This is a fun, ADULT , or YA book with lots of gory, violent, close combat action, as well as wild space🚀 battles. This is a well thought out, well written, and planned out series. The book ends in sort of a cliffhanger that leads to Captain Sterling's next mission......
Things have gone from bad to worse for Earth and its people, but our hero and his crew are not ready to accept defeat. Which is good, because they may be the only one who hasn't.
This is book three of the series, but it works pretty well as a standalone. You will be missing some of the background that led up to this point, but you can figure out the basic elements pretty quickly.
This is an intense, fast paced military SF story. The story is very well written, with a lot of depth to both the setting and the characters. The plot is intense and fast paced, with lots of twists and turns along the way that keep you on your toes and unsure what is going to happen next. I found myself intrigued by the world and drawn in from the beginning with a story that is intense, exciting and very engaging. Overall, it was a fantastic read and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Highly recommended.

Aptly titled book, Sterling and his crew seem to be making enemies left and right in addition to the one they are fighting in the war. Persona non grata at home, pursued by a marshal with a serious ax to grind in the border worlds, and hunting a man who is apparently a villain in a very treacherous part of the enemy's home territory this is an action fueled trip from beginning to end. These guys just don't get a break! Some excellent twists in this book that make you rethink everything you thought you knew about the war and who the enemy really is.
The character development in this series is top notch - cracks are showing, it seems the crew might be human after all. Well, maybe not the doctor - he's still creepy. Loved the addition of the latest 4 legged crew member, and the ongoing jokes about the meal packs. Hey, sometimes that is what matters.
Book 3 in the Omega Taskforce series, this series must be read in order as the books build on each other. Each book has a satisfying story arc, but lots of questions and problems left unsolved for the rest of the series.
Great action, good character development, no chairs on the bridge of a spaceship still can’t give it five. Stars.
This book is well worth a five but still no chairs on the bridge of a spaceship, can’t give it five. Besides that caveat The book is fast-paced very enjoyable, great character development between Lucas and Mercedes as well as the rest of his crew. The characters are still developing and growing this is a positive point for the series. In the blurb it says if you like Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek section 31 you would like the series, I put it at a cross between Babylon five with Captain Sheridan and his commander. The camaraderie between them is excellent. In fact the entire crew meshes well together. There are plots within plots, a great storyline. If you haven’t started the series I suggest you read it. I read a lot of books and this is one of my favorite series to date. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.
Acquire James Colicos at all costs. The manhunt begins in the Void. Captain Lucas Sterling and his Omega Taskforce crew were on their own in the Void tracking down Colicos. The only hope to defeating the Sa'Nerra is finding Colicos and making him reverse the Neural Implant weapon he'd given the enemy. Sterling's specialized crew will be required to go where no Fleet had ever been before, their unique skills will be required more than ever before. The complicated storyline brings the Invictus and her crew to the darkest depths of Sa'Nerran space into unexplored regions of the galaxy. The characters are terrific. One huge dyslexic family! Bravo to the storyteller! This is an outstanding read!
Captain Lucas Sterling never gives up.His goal is to accomplish his mission no matter what the cost. Under secret orders , he goes where no one dares. He successfully accomplishes his first Mission only to be assigned a New one. The Omega directive remains in effect for Captain Lucas and his crew. Recommend for those who like space battles and on going action.
G J Ogden The Exile Yet again G J has come up with another thrill seeking ride, this a rollercoaster ride off will they or won’t they win. G J has a way of writing that other authors don’t and I can’t wait for the next book I have read this book as an ARC and I am leaving this review on my free will.
Sterling and his crew are back for another adventure into the void and hope to save humanity. It was fun to read and entertaining as action, fighting, danger and sneaking around occurred. Glued to the end just to see what would happen to the plucky crew this time and would they be successful on their hunt this time around. Well written and sucked me into the story easily.
Captain Sterling and the Invictus crew are once again sent into the Void, seeking a man who could hold the key to defeating the Sa’Nerra. Good story with the Omega Taskforce again facing dilemma's that will test them to the fullest.
