It's hard to decide what to rate this, so I'll leave it blank for now. Konata's the character that's the closest to a stand-in for me, with some major caveats. It's cool that her friends are tolerant of her being a total nerd, and call her out when she gets too troubling or weird about it (Kagami specifically). But she doesn't... quite... read like a girl to me. Although if she were a boy, this would basically be a harem story, so it's just as well, I guess.

I've enjoyed the Lucky Star anime at least twice, and have read through most of the manga once, but it's too fannish and/or "scourge-y" to recommend to anyone who isn't hip-deep in otaku culture.

I thought this one was better than the first volume maybe because I'd gotten used to how strange it is. I still think the characters are cute but the father is creepy :/ Like he is a pedo or something :s

It's a pretty easy to sit down and read it all within one sitting. This time reading the notes on the translation I tend to agree whereas before I was kind of disappointed.

I think I'll continue on reading the volumes. I don't think it's the best manga I've ever read and nor do I think it's the funniest either. Somethings still confuse me within the mini stories. Each strip seems to be about nothing or if it's about something it's really not all that important.

Hmm...I'd find this a hard manga to recommend to anyone..lol

I can recall one genuine laugh I had. Honestly I just found this volume boring. Aside from more information on Konatas mother nothing really caught my eye or was memorable in this volume. I will still probably give it a third volume chance but not for a long time although the spin-offs seem pretty intriguing and I will certainly try those.

This series stays funny, even when we get new characters. In this volume we meet Konata's cousin, Yu-chan (who eventually goes to her school), Yu-chan's best friend (I just love seeing those two together they are so sweet), Kagami's classmates (who I hope will get more of a spotlight as they are great characters), Akira also pops up in the latter parts, and we also get a glimpse of Patty (more Patty please). I also love how this manga mixes slice of life with anime/manga references and real life (as our main group has to study for college/exams).
I will keep on re-reading, I got up to 8 to read (hopefully one day someone will bring out the rest).

Though sometimes I get a little bored with this manga, I love how easy going it is. My favourite character would have to be Konata just because she makes me laugh a lot!

After a bit of a rocky start, trying to figure out the best path for the series, Kagami Yoshimizu has settled into a nice "status quo." By now, characters are fleshed out enough that each comic strip feels more "sound" than the majority found in Volume 1. Well, mostly. Several new characters are introduced, without adding much to the overall product: Konata's cousin Yutaka is pretty good, but her friend Minami is mainly one-dimensional, only interesting for some of the "flat chest" jokes, her A-cup angst contrasting her mean-looking face; Kagami's classmates get a little more screen-time, but really they're just shown to resemble Miyuki and Konata, as a joke, which has the unfortunate consequence of making them seem poorly-conceived; Miyuki, still technically a member of the main four girls, still seems completely worthless, aside from being the cutest of the four, and she barely has any strips dedicated to her.

I probably won't continue reading the manga since I can't seem to find it in any other langauge than japanese but the anime is great!
