A NEW BREATHTAKING STORY FROM THE USA TODAY & INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR DIANA NIXON.
Santiago Alcantar killed my parents. Now it's my turn to take away what he loves most of all...
Losing my parents changed my life forever. I had to learn how to be a fighter. I fought for everything I wanted to have. But when I thought there was nothing I couldn't get, I met her... Gabriela Alcantar. The favorite daughter of my worst enemy. She made the sorrows of my past return. I felt weak and helpless again. I hated it. As well as I hated her and her entire family. Because they were the killers. And they could never be forgiven. Unless... I could make them pay for what they did to me.
"I lied to her... I told her I would never fall in love with her. Then again, I lied to myself. Because my heart already belonged to her..."
This is an adult standalone enemies-to-lovers romance, filled with mystery, suspense, family drama, forbidden love, slow-burn heat, and HEA.

This was great! Emilio's world is turned upside down at the loss of his parents at a young age. He is now a man with hate in his heart wanting vengeance for their deaths, by making the man he holds responsible pay, this price being his youngest daughter Gabriela.
This book has a little of everything - enemies to lovers, angst, revenge & betrayal. Its well written and holds your attention from the first chapter.
Disclaimer: I received a free ARC from the author in exchange for a fair review.
I'm really glad I decided to take a chance on this one—I tend not to go in for dark romance all that much, but this really caught my attention.
Emilio vowed as a child to exact revenge on the man he blames for the death of his parents. Years later, that man's daughter walks through the doors of his club, and suddenly Emilio has his perfect opportunity. He's going to take Gabriela away from her family, and then her father might feel a smidgen of the pain Emilio's been suffering for most of his life. But Gaby isn't what Emilio expects in the slightest, and she throws his entire world off-kilter.
I really enjoyed the push and pull dynamic between Gaby and Emilio, and the way they both fought against their feelings. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and every time that they give in to their attraction is hot as hell. I also loved how entangled their lives were; Gaby's older sister was Emilio's childhood best friend, and it was so sweet to see him and Sofia reunite. In a lot of ways, Gaby gave Emilio a life again, which I thought was beautiful. I really felt for him; it was easy to empathise with his pain, and I wanted nothing for than for him to be able to find some peace.
I also thoroughly enjoyed how Emilio grew from an arrogant, self-centred jerk drowning in grief to a man who respected Gaby, listened to her, and put her first. That said, I would have liked to see Gaby make him work harder for her forgiveness; I feel like she gave in a little too easily considering the guy kidnapped her and threatened to murder her father if she didn't comply with his wishes. I wanted to see her falling in love be a little more drawn out—but then, I'm a sucker for a slowburn!
On the whole, I did really enjoy reading this, and I'm glad I took a chance on it. I'll be sure to check out more of Diana's books in future!
ARC Review: A broken boy turned man, a young woman who has the strength to look deeper and the rocky road ahead of them...
Emilio is the type of character that I thoroughly enjoy to read. He is the man who wants retribution and isn't afraid of the cost to get it. He takes what he wants and doesn't ask for forgiveness. Gabriela has a steadfast inner strength about her that speaks to every woman who has ever had to be the strength for someone they love. She can see beyond the surface and isn't afraid to test limits while also setting some for herself.
Tragedy lead him to believe that his heart can never beat for another and that the only future for him was empty. She sees someone who needs love to heal and patience as he works his way through it. But how can she love him and and loathe him at the same time? He wants to kill someone she loves and he has made it clear that she will be the means to an end, nothing more.
"Does keeping me as your prisoner make you happy Emilio?" "No. But it hardly matters for someone who doesn't know what being happy means in the first place"
Following Emilio and Gabriela through their journey felt uncomfortable at times and rewarding at others. Diana brought an authenticity to the characters and their experiences. The character interactions and the emotion behind them allows you to be a part of the story. You want to see the redemption and for someone to answer for Emilio's pain, but you also don't want to see him lose himself further to it. Gaby has what it takes to save him from himself and he has what she needs to love her as she deserves.
The betrayal, lies and deceit will make you mad and hurt for them, but the love, forgiveness and strength will make you fall in love with their love.
So I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical at the beginning. When the author reached out to me I wasn't sure if maybe this book is the right one for me. Luckily for me, my curiosity won out.
Forgiven was amazing. In fact, it’s the BEST OF THE BEST! I was utterly enchanted from the very first page. And just look at that gorgeous cover. It's Gorgeous. Diana slayed!
Diana outdid herself with this story of hate, love and vengence. She managed to create such an intriguing, addictive read, blending the sweetness and sexiness perfectly. I was engrossed with this story from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down for one minute. It was that good! Needless to say, 'Unforgiven' met all my expectations.
Emilio Keaton is fucking mazing! He’s, sexy, cunning, ruthless, intelligent, and driven. In short, he’s the perfect Alphahole! YOU WILL BE RUINED by Emilio. Prepare your hearts NOW! 🤤🤤
Gabriela is a sweet, beautiful, brave and strong girl who melted my heart. she faces situations with courage. She is everything I look for in a heroine. I LOVE HER!!
The plot and the characters consumed me, hypnotized me, with an emotional romance bordering the dark and raw, full of love, banter, hatred, passion, anguish, that kept me on the edge of the seat, heart racing and butterflies inside me stomach.
Forgiven is complicated and intriguing with unexpected twists and turns. And did I mention, I loved Emilio? 🤭🤭
Spectacular! Seductive! Sex-on-a-stick hero! A glued-to-your-kindle read! ❤
If you're new to these kinda plotline books, then I'd definitely recommend you do read this, but if you've read way too manyyyyy, then I'd warn you that at times it might feel predictable.
✓Childhood bestfriends's sister ✓Kinda Enemies Marriage of Convience to Lovers
From the blurb, you might be expecting something dark and maybe mafia? But this is nothing like that. This is all sweet, passionate, romantic with insta love (90%), some funny scenes, a 'sassy and will get under your skin' kind of FMC and a 'I don't believe in love' MMC.
From the start we can see the chemistry and sparks between Gabriela and Emilio and the instant individual realisation that they do like each other.
Everything was very fast here. There weren't much hidden secrets, a suspense here and there. I felt that Gabriela's past was inserted forcefully...to ensure she has something like a dark past too? I was curious at some parts and predicted the others but overall I liked reading this. The ending though very cliché, it was very happy and sweet.
PS: Emilio confessing that he missed her was just too effing cuteeee.♡♡
I just finished ‘Unforgiven’ by Diana Nixon and I absolutely loved it!
In ‘Unforgiven’ we get to know Emilo. Losing his parents changed his life, he is a fighter and want to take revenge on the killer of his parents. Then he met Gabriela Alcantar, the daughter off his worst enemy.
I really loved this book, Emilo and Gabriela are two stubborn people who fight for wat they want. And the chemistry between these two is off the charts!
The book is written in dual perspectives, you get to know Emilo and Gabriela. I really had the feeling that I was a part of their world.
This book had everything, it has romance, suspense, a great plot twist and some steamy scenes. The book really took me by surprise! I didn’t see that plot twist coming.
I really had to try and hold back because I wanted to finish the book in one go.
It was my first book by Diana Nixon but not my last.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
How do I even begin to explain how much I loved this book. I was totally engrossed in this book. I couldn't put it down and finished it in less than a day. The story and the characters captured and captivated me. It was raw, full of anger, hurt, pain, fear, friendships lost and found, and love. Not to mention lies, deceit, cover ups, fear, defeat, and triumph.
Emilio - wow, what a sexy, dark, broody, demanding, alpha male. There were so many layers to him. We saw him through many different perspectives throughout the book. He grew, he changed, he accepted new truths - about his past, about himself and his future.
Gabby - Beautiful, spunky, full of life - loving, kind, willing to fight. I really loved this character. To know all that she has been through and how she pushes forward- wow! To see how she steps up to a new challenge and sees what is behind the mask, behind what the world sees - inspiring.
I love how the story ended! And the little bits of Spanish throughout (translations were provided) - it was perfect and made the story even more special!
Gabriela is having fun in a club when she catches the eye of Emillio, the owner of the club and the son of the people Gabriela's father killed. Now he is going to get his revenge on him: by taking his daughter. But what he thought he knew about their deaths may not be true, and the walls he has built around his heart may come crumbling down with Gabriela's help.
This story goes to show what happens when you only get half the story and refuse to see anything else. The plot is beautifully written and pulls you in immediately. The characters have depth and you fall in love with them quickly.
The only problem with this book, is the segmentation of the point of views. It made things a little more complicated to read, and didn't add to the story by switching so much. I would've also liked to see the ending extended where we seen justice, but it fell short on that. However, the scenes between them were steamy and made up for any shortcomings!
A Dark and Passionate Romantic Page Turner Diana Nixon’s “Unforgiven” blends heat and passion with the gritty darkness of the criminal world. This is definitely not a sweet and steamy HEA kind of book, but that doesn’t make it any less heart-tugging and emotional. The darkness makes it more powerful. The storyline and characters are well-developed, and the sultry backdrop of Spain only adds to the feel of it. The only thing I found distracting was that even the characters who were native American English speakers seemed to talk in a more formal way – almost as if it were their second language – and that detracted from the authenticity of it for me. I guess I have a preconception of the “lazier” American speech patterns, so it didn’t ring true for me. However, the story itself was a page turner, and I enjoyed it very much!
What a ride this book was! Gabby and Emilio have all the odds stacked against them, so can they really make it work? Emilio life changed irreversibly when he was a kid. Since then he’s been driven by the idea of revenge against the one he believes is the reason for his grief. Gabby is on a celebration vacation when she meets Emilio. Immediately she’s drawn to him, but at what will that one dance cost her? Forced to confront their darkest desires and fears, can they do that together? Or will everything fall apart in the end?? This was a really good enemies to lovers book. I felt for the characters and got really invested in their lives. I couldn’t help but root for Gabriella and Emilio and hoped Emilio could get the closure he so desperately needed.
There's a bit of old wives wisdom that says if you're setting out for revenge, first dig two graves. In this case, it might have been better to just buy two rings. A young business tycoon who watched his parents die in an auto fire after a car "accident" that was deemed as murder kidnaps the daughter of the man he believes was responsible for their death. Things aren't what they seem (of course) and besides, there's that old "thin line between love and hate" thing. It's a fun story with lots of back and forth sass and a good bit of steam in the relationship ... and there's even an HEA. A good read by a writer who's always reliable for an entertaining story.
A gripping enemies to lovers tale! Emilio lost it all to Santiago Alcanter and seeking his revenge was always at the forefront of his mind. when opportunity arise sin the form of Gabbie Alcanter (Santiagos daugher) he seizes the opportunity. he claims to never love but bringing Gabbie to her knees and her father with her will it be a bitter sweet revenge? this is well written filled with hot scenes desires, revenge, action suspense and more!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A little bit of grudge, hate, lust, and eventually love all wrapped into one. I really enjoyed the story of Emilio and Gabriela. I loved the character personalities, and how combustible they were when the came together, whether they were loving or fighting at the moment. Also, my favortie aspect was how the MMC had a connection to the FMC before they met. That backstory really added so much!
If you enjoy longer reads, where the MMC has a vendetta to settle and takes it out on the FMC, but then it evolves into something more....you'll enjoy this!
***I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.***
Revenge may be what’s on Emilio’s mind but he wasn’t prepared for the insta-lust for beautiful brunette who happens to be his enemy’s daughter. Gabriella is headstrong and quite capable of bringing him to his knees.
So what happens when the two end up married? Have to read it to find out.
Overall, a great book. Really no surprises regarding the real culprits behind his parents’ deaths. But that took a backseat to their romance that has all the heat, passion, anger and tears.
* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
The attraction between Gabriela and Emilio is undeniable. I couldn’t put the book down. Emilio kidnaps Gabriela to get revenge against her father for killing his dad. Gabriela hates him for it.
After Emilio realizes he is falling for her, he decides to let her live her life the way she is meant to. But then he overhears a conversation between her parents, and his revenge sparks even more.
Emilio and Gabriela's story made me laugh and made me cry. A definite must-read!
Emilio wanted revenge Gabriela would be that revenge. He definitely wasn’t looking for love but she showed him that he could have even if she hated him at the same time that she loved him. This story was dark with light at the end. Everything that Diana promised she made such believable characters that you wanted to either love them and hate them and feel sorry for them all at once. I would definitely recommend it. This is one of the best Dark romance books I have read in a long while.
This book was amazing! As usual Diana delivers a great story line, characters so easy to love! Since page number one you can’t put it down. The world Diana creates is unique and full of emotions!
I was dying to read this one, especially after the cover reveal! Go grab your copy ♥️♥️ This is a must read, Emilio and Gabriela are worth the late nights!
I liked this book a lot. It was the first book I read from Diana and can't wait to read some more! It had all the elements I usually enjoy. The way Diana illustrated the conflict Emilio had with keeping Gaby against her will showed that he is not a bad guy and never had bad intentions with her.
Overall a good book with a good story. Surprising plot and I love how it was not your typical ex-bff romance or any hate feelings between Emilio and Sof.
Can you ever forgive a person for taking away someone you love? Can you forgive someone for taking away your parents? How long do you hold a grudge for? I don't think I can ever let go of that grudge. However, if I found love I don't think I would deny myself. He met her and thought what better revenge! An eye for an eye! She was just the innocent victim that endured his anger. He had her and now what?? Would you bury the hatchet? What would you do?
This was fantastic and dark just like it promised. This book was so enjoyable and had such interesting characters that i wanted to read it all in the one go.
Certainly well thought out and planned characters and world building. Can’t wait to see what Diana has planned next.
Great characters, excitement, and suspense. He didn’t see her coming. She stole his breath, his thoughts and mind, but he wanted revenge on her father. He’d take her father’s most valued person.
Emilio is a tough man, his parents were murdered 20 years ago, betrayed by their friend. Emilio has vowed revenge and the key to that appears in his club one night in the form of the beautiful Gabriella. Emilio gives her an ultimatum to protect her family she must stay with him. Can either of them resist the chemistry that’s exploding. Now I must say spicy romance is not my usual genre but I loved this. The Spanish wording gave the book an extra element of sexiness! Thank you to the author for a free copy in exchange for my honest review. I look forward to reading more in future.
4.5 star read. This is my first book by this author. I requested an ARC for an honest review and you can feel how much the author has put her heart and soul into this book.
Its an enemies to lovers romance with a good plot mixed with vengeance, lies, deceit, passion and sexual chemistry that flowed well throughout the book.
20 years ago Emilio life changed forever when he lost everything he loved. Ever since that day Emilio has always craved revenge against his enemy Santiago Alcantar. The last thing Emilio expected was for his enemies gorgeous daughter Gabriela Alcantar to walk into his night club and take his breath away. With her father out of his reach, Emilio makes a plan to his get his revenge by taking his daughter but Gabriela is much stronger than Emilio first thought and soon it’s not just revenge Emilio craves as enemy lines get blurred by the intense sexual chemistry sizzling between the two. Emilio is the closed off bad boy you love to hate but Gabriela has the determination and strength to break down the walls he has built around his untrusting broken heart.

Emilio's parents died when he was a child and an overheard conversation means that he holds Santiago Alcantar responsible for their deaths. Then he met Gabriela Alcantar and he knows what he will do - he will take away what he loves the most - his youngest daughter. However, he lied to her - he insisted his heart would never belong to her but it was already too late as his heart already belonged to her.
This was a mystery story which firmly took enemies to lovers and worked its way through the events of the past in order to correct the course of the present. I loved the characters who were very real and believable. I was definitely rooting for them both as Emilio was stubborn in his determination to not love her and she was even more determined to make him love her. I loved the way that this book ended and I was thrilled with the way that it ended. Easy to read, some mature content, and easy to feel and get caught up in their thoughts and emotions.
This is a great read! This is a story of Emilio and Gabriela. He’s a man with scars, lost his parents at an early age, so he vowed as a child to exact revenge. Years later an opportunity for that arises since the murderers daughter walks through the doors of his club. He decides to take her away from her family, but she isn’t what he expects in the slightest. This book has a little bit of everything that is needed to make a great read: enemies to lovers trope, angst, revenge, betrayal and a lot of steam. It’s very well written and so easily holds your attention from the first chapter to the very end.
Firstly I wanted to thank the author for sending my this arc❤️
Where do I even start? This book was so amazing! It made me feel so many emotions I cried tbh my heart did some flips and I loved it so much! The way she doesn’t give up on him and he doesn’t want her to be sad damn 😩 this book was everything and I need MORE!! I really want to know if they stay together or not I want to know every single thing… Favourite nicknames : Mi amor, my beautiful troublemaker ❤️
I chose to read this book based on the very interesting blurb supplied by the author. I was swept away by the conflicted emotions that the author was able to relay very easily. I liked the drama and intrigue. I enjoyed reading this book and hope to read more books from this author.
