This is what immortality may mean, not a chain of infinite moments, but a moment that is immortalized in time for its permanence.
Soubhik and Sourav have grown up together, but are far apart in terms of their personalities. Soubhik is elder only by his numerical age, Sourav is the one who supports him.
Nethra becomes Sourav's pillar of strength in the vast metropolis that is Mumbai, sharing his love for indie music. Their love faces a number of obstacles, Soubhik being the first one.
Soubhik is going through his own struggle, his own love story and his own mental health issues.
Will the brothers keep their love for each other alive? Will they make it big in the highly competitive industry of indie music? Will Sourav and Nethra stay together? Will Soubhik find someone who provides him peace? Will the world recognize Soubhik's talent?
Manik Bal's ambitious mashup revises the Van Gogh story. It travels through the dirty lanes and the seedy bars of Mumbai and portrays the ambitious upcoming artists and their ceaseless struggle to make it big . It uses the Van Gogh Brothers story as a template to sketch the core issues of human creativity and material success.
Manik Bal is an author who resides in the beautiful city of Bangalore, known for its contribution to the information technology revolution in India and also known for having the worst traffic among all cities in India. You can find him also at:
Once a pensioner’s paradise, Bangalore retains its phenomenal weather that attracted Manik to make it his home. Manik writes poetry, short stories and novels exploring the Indian middle class, its aspiration and its dilemmas. His characters explore life in situations that are not heroic or exceptional but are mundane and ordinary. They show their uniqueness by facing life as it is. Manik lives with his wife and two kids in a buzzing neighborhood in the city allowing him to observe the young and the old chasing the Indian dream. Yes, it exists and is both similar and different than the American dream. It retains the career ambition, a desire for affluent life and the upward mobility that the American dream symbolizes but adds a unique flavor of family ties, emotional relationships with friends and love for melodrama just like the Bollywood movies.
This is a lovely book based on a true unique theme – – using the Van Gogh brothers as a model. How the journey of these brothers is related to Van Gogh brothers is really brilliant.
Next the characters are brought to life by the expert writing of the author. I began to relate to the brothers as I was drawn into there struggles tragedies and fears.
In the end the overall themes of joy friendship/companionship and love of music tied this book together. Where I learned from this part is the hard work of the artists particularly behind the scenes.
I really liked the concept. Nicely imagined and unique plot. Writing style and narration style are very strong..
Finally, I can’t leave this review without touching on the cover. I rarely comment on the covers unless they’re particularly poor or outstanding. This one was truly outstanding it had a and impressionist moe. to it that would make me grab it off the shelves just to have a peek.
Overall this is a very enjoyable book and I recommend it
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I received this book as an ARC, so I'd like to thank Booksprout and the author, Manin Bal, for the opportunity.
This book follows the life of two brothers involved in the indie music industry, showing us their struggles, fears, tragedies, but also the things that brought them joy: family and music.
I loved the music references as they set you up in the characters minds and mood, while also telling you a little more about their personality. At some point I was a little enervated with the story, and I found it somewhat slow; however, I was really invested with the plot and I was kinda surprised by the end.
Some takeaways from the books are more knowledge of the Indian culture, and some quotes that resonate a lot with I think everyone.
I would like to say more but, as Manik Bal once said... "Life is strange. The most important is often the most incommunicable in a verbal sense."
Indian author Manik Bal writes poetry, short stories, and novels that focus on ‘the Indian middle class, its aspirations and dilemmas.’ His collection of short stories – WHISKEY AND SUICIDE – found an admiring audience, and now he turns to a full-length novel – BROTHERS SEN GOGH – and his reputation is advancing. Moving from short stories to novel format comes naturally to Manik: his initial novel is impressive on every level.
Not only has the author created a fine historically related tale that compares the lives of artist Vincent Van Gogh and his brother Theo – a topic the resonates with all art lovers – and parallels that relationship with the fictional Indian brothers Soubhik and Sourav Sengupta in the field of music, but he also adds touching insights into family relationships, talent, creativity and mental health.
Manik’s prose is eloquent, and the core of his sensitivity is evident as he opens his Prologue with a tender death scene: ‘Ravindranath Sengupta could not even look up to see Sourav, The weakness was overpowering and he knew he had a few precious last days. Sourav had come to Shidpur in midst of a couple of launches that he thought were crucial to his career. He did not care though. For him, his family meant more then anything else. He was a little puzzled though when Dad sent away Soubhik and asked mom also to go out…Dad asked him to come closer…”What is it Dad? Don’t worry, the doctors here are the best, they are going to make sure you are out in a week.” Dad made a face indicating he did not agree with the doctor….I know I am going to go. I am not unhappy, I have lived a happy life. I am proud of both you and Soubhik. I am more proud of your love for each other. You are the Van Gogh Brothers of the modern age.” And with that touching opening the concept of the story is established.
The author’s synopsis explains the parallels of the story well: ‘Brothers Sen Gogh ruminates about the pains of a sensitive soul, the inability of society to identify artistic talent and the heartbreaking tragedy of a flawed brotherly relationship. Soubhik Sengupta is an indie musician with emotional fragility. Sourav Sengupta is an indie music producer who is unable to launch his brother. Will their life follow the script of the life of Van Gogh brothers? Brothers Sen Gogh is a journey into the real nature of artistic freedom, the intricate relationship between talent and destructive sensitivity, struggle of the life of an indie musician and the perils of an alternate life. Traveling in the bylanes of Mumbai, the story tracks the tragic lives of the Sengupta brothers as they try and build an alternate life following their passions.’
Deeply moving and simultaneously entertaining, this is a major novel by an artist of note. Very highly recommended.
"Life is strange. The most important is often the most uncommunicable in a verbal sense."
This is the story of Vincent and Theo van Gogh wrapped in the fictional story of Soubhik and Sourav Sengupta, with music as their art form. And, he adds India into the mix: music and acting, production and dreams that die and live on the whims of the public at whose feet it is laid to be lauded or destroyed.
With family support or without it. The question becomes can he live up to his brother's expectations? Can Sourav live up to his own expectations? Will Soubhik ever understand what his father told him as he lay dying? Will the brothers survive?
As a long ago radio personality at a small college station as well as a community choral participant, I love music As a retired minister who has published award winning poetry and written sermons and now reads and reviews books across genres, I must tip my hat to this author for breaking out of his shell as a poet and crafting a well written book rooted in his own love of time, place, art and family, as well as the expectations of all of those things. There are places in the book that take off like a high speed train while others try to catch up resulting in an enjoyable book that will stand the test of time. Highly Recommended 5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it]
This is my second book by Manik and I can say I am a fan of his writing style, his creativity and his plots. This book is some kind of a mash up between two threads, one that of the story of Vincent and Theo Van Gogh and the other of the world of indie music. The way Manik weaves these two threads is what makes the book interesting. If you are aware of the story of the Van Gogh brothers, this would be a very interesting read since it has several overlaps with the story, but there are many difference as well, which is what makes the plot interesting.
The indie music world in Mumbai is described with painstaking detail. The pubs, bars and the struggling artists to make it big show the research Manik has put behind the book. The philosophical questions of "What is good art?" and "Do success and failure of art determine the worth of the artists?" are handled in a very subtle manner.
In short, this is a book to savor and read again and again. Highly recommended.
The book has catchy cover and seeing title and cover clicked a little bit idea about the subject of the book. So I had to pick it up. I will brother summarise the blurb. It’s about the story of two pair of brothers. One pair is Van Gogh brother. Many of us might know about them. The other pair is of Shoubhik and Shourav. Shourav Sengupta is a music producer while Shoubhik is a musician with emotional fragility. Shourav is unable to launch his brother. I liked their journey and struggles to Mumbai. Especially Shourav. Belonging to small town and adjusting in metro city. And especially struggling life and then fascinated to posh area. I think those tiny things every middle class people including me can relate it. Also following your passion in different area than routine course is also quote commonly relatable. Now how the journey of these brothers is related to Van Gogh brother is really fascinating. I was wondering but author has quite wittily correlated it. Read the book to know that. Plus I only heard about famous painter and his painting but never about Van Gogh brothers. It was interesting to read about them too. I really liked the concept. Nicely imagined and unique plot. Author is thorough with story. Writing style and narration style gives us the proof of that. Author has used good vocabulary and language. Indeed a quite different read than my usual reads. Overall good one.
The story revolves around the life of two brothers, Soubhik and Sourav. Their story seems to be inspired by the legendary Van Gogh brothers, Theo and Vincent. Sourav is the younger brother and is practical unlike his brother, an idealist musician, who was pampered and inspired to be idealistic by their father. The struggles of a creative and talented artist, complexities of relationships, middle class misfortunes, inevitabilities of certain decisions in life are all cocktailed up perfectly in this musical journey of brothers who are tested time and again by fate and society.
The book is a contrasting story about two pairs of brothers, their struggles and achievements in life, how they cross each stepping stone to achieve greater things in life. The fascinating aspect is that both the pair of brothers are into creative fields. Being someone from the creative field myself, it was a direct connect with the story for me.
I enjoyed reading about the Van Gogh brothers, the content keeps you hooked till the end, and the story of Shourav and Shoubhik is even more relatable, them being from middle class backgrounds, wanting to make it big in life as music producer and musician respectively.
The plot is well knit and curated. Though a long read, the book is worth it, however I wish I had picked the paperback version instead. It took longer to read it on kindle but it was interesting enough to let go!
It’s taken me a week to put “pen to paper” and write this review. It was a really interesting enjoyable read about worlds and historical events, I knew little to nothing about. The brothers are likeable and come across as real, as do other characters. Some of the events are sad and shocking but are written in ways that mean they are an important part of the story and it’s richer for them. I particularly enjoyed the psychology that was woven in to the book. I was gifted this by voracious readers in return for an honest review.
The book is a treat for all music lovers out there. The book revolves around the music industries and its struggles. The story is basically about two brothers Soubhik Sengupta and Sourav Sengupta. Inspired by the brotherly love of Vincent and Theo Van Gogh, Brothers Sen Gogh ruminates about the pains of a sensitive soul, the inability of society to identify artistic talent and the heartbreaking tragedy of a flawed brotherly relationship.
Sourav is an indie music producer who is unable to launch his brother. When he goes to Mumbai to work, he finds Nethra, a member of a Chattri Band, with whom he falls in love. On the other hand, his brother is not able to launch himself in the industry and wants to come live in Mumbai with him. His father is battling cancer. Read to know more about his life and struggles.
~The book is a very well written and thoughtful story. The plot is unique and interesting and many incidents are just so heartwarming. ~The characters are moulded with love and warmth and are very engaging to read about. ~The language used by the author is quite lucid with descriptive narration. ~Special appreciation for the cover of the book. It is so beautiful. ~Overall, it is a great read.
This is the first time I have read a book that morphs a historical story on a modern backdrop. I knew the genre of mashup literature existed but did not try it previously. Manik brings home the essence of the Van Gogh brothers story by making it a story about two brothers in Mumbai, one an artist and another a producer. The level of appreciation would increase if you have read know the Van Gogh brothers story, but even if you don't, it is a great book standalone.
The way Manik creates a world of indie music in Mumbai is amazing. The pain of an artist, the struggle to get noticed, the fight between idealism and reality and the agony of seeing someone you love in trouble - all of these are portrayed with tenderness. It felt like I was watching a movie.
The language is simple yet effective. The characters are real and sketched in the right level of detail. Unlike Manik's first book, "Whiskey and Suicide", he does not unleash many characters in a short space of time. He takes time to build characters that are truly multidimensional and become a part of your life.
A highly recommended read for anyone who likes emotional stories, Van Gogh fans, stories about artists and stories based in Mumbai.
This book was added in the list of my must read books. The story is quite different from other Romantic Novels. I appreciate Author for narrating the struggles of an artist in a beautiful way.
The story is about the two brothers named Sourav and Soubhik. These two brothers where passionate about music. While Soubhik is taking care of his parents, Sourav decides to go to Mumbai to join a band. Sourav fells in love with the music at his first day on the band.
Everything is going smooth until they lost their mother and after few days they lost their mother also. At the same time Sourav's band is disbanded. Soubhik is feeling lonely at home so he thought to join Sourav to make his career in Music.
You can see how these two brothers work hard had to achieve success in the music industry. At the same time they also acquires the love of their lives.

Book Title: Brothers Sen Gogh Author: Manik Bal Format: Kindle
My Thoughts: This is the second book from the Author this year I have read, and I must admit, I liked this book. While in his previous book, the story also talked about life and emotions but was a collection of short stories, this book is an inspiring journey of a struggling artist. The mere mentions of Bollywood, music, Mumbai and many such words made the reading relatable.
What to expect from the story? The story is about the pain and struggles an artist experiences while trying to make it in the world. The story is inspiring and hopeful. There is love, there is emotion, and there is the whole life.
Who can read? The book is all about life's journey, dealing with emotional and personal setbacks and most of all, having hope for a bright future. As the book is written in accessible language, readers of any age who are into general fiction can read this.
How good are the characters? The story has two central characters, Shourav and Shoubhik, that are realistic, honest, and evolving. As the story progresses, the characters develop and mature, thus making the story enjoyable. What stands out is the involvement of the famous yesteryear's artist Van Gogh and his brother. As I want to maintain my review as a spoiler-free one, I restrain myself from spilling out more beans about the characters.
How good is the narration? The narration of any good story lies in its narration. In the same manner, in this story, the relationship between humans and art is narrated uniquely and attractively. The journey of a person from a small town where humanity and love persist in every soul to a vast city like Mumbai through humanity exists, time and busy schedules kill the lives, the struggle to prove successful and bring glory in life and the hope one person keeps throughout the path of life is explained well.
How good are the language and grammar? Simple and easy English language is used in the book. This simplicity gives the readers access to the characters instantly.
How good is the Author's writing style? This is probably my third book by author Manik Bal. His writing skills reflect realistic emotions and relatable feelings that every human in daily life encounters.
How entertaining is the book? With a good story and thoughtful emotions, the story is quite entertaining.
Final Verdict An interesting story about relationships and emotions
This is my second read by author Manik Bal and i personally like is plot selection very much.
This is a story of two music enthusiastic brothers Sourav and shoubhik and there journey towards the music industry.
While Sourav leaves for Mumbai shoubhik looks after their parents , everything was going with the flow unless the unexpected death of their parents with shot timespan. Shoubhik decided to leave for Mumbai to begins his career in music and then the real struggle begins ... What happens next ??
The plot was extremely uncommon and it reflects the struggle of budding musicians . The plot was well narrated as well as realistic Overall a great book
Wow! What an emotional rollercoaster. Sourav is a music producer and works for an indie music studio in Mumbai. His introduction to Nethra and their romance is so amazing. But my favorite character was Suresh, the drummer. He was like the Shashi Kapoor to Soubhik's Bacchan persona. A very dependable and loyal friend. Can's imagine what would have happened to Soubhik if Suresh was not there. Again Prashant is an amazing character. I loved his self confidence and the Rhett Butler kind of persona. At points the book is slow, but it was worth it. The end is a shocker, believe me. I absolutely loved it.
He wanted to stay true to his art. It would cost him his sanity and his life. She wanted a life of dignity. It was a recipe for poverty and strife. Soubhik and Sourav, inspired by real heroes Vincent and Theo, try and make it in the cut throat indie music industry of Mumbai with the power of their brotherly love, and the love for their kind of music. The story honestly but delicately documents their romances, their passion, their love for the craft, yet the desire to give a sane life to their loved ones. Will they live their dream?
The story revolves around the artistic brothers Sourav, Soubhik and their journey. Other two main characters are Nethra and Indrani. The romantic part of Nethra and Sourav was sweet to read. Author has clearly described the life experience of a struggling artist. Author's narrative style is good and easy to read. Overall an interesting and entertaining read.
Book:- Brothers Sen Gogh Author:- Manik Bal Format:- Kindle Ratings:- ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
"Brothers Sen Gogh" authored by Manik Bal depicts the toil & struggle faced by the artists.
The author must be appreciated for scribbling the story of Van Gogh brothers and the Sengupta brothers seemingly being similar to each brothers.
The plot is set in such a way when the story of the brothers Soubhik Sengupta and Sourav Sengupta are detailed. Sourav Sengupta who's a music producer of the music industry, isn't able to launch his brother Soubhik Sengupta into the industry.
Soubhik mets a girl named Nethra while he's in Mumbai. Nethra belongs to the band of Chattri. The two fell in love with each other. What happens next? Will the two be together for ever? What about launching Sourav Sengupta in the music industry? Know it all yourselves by just diving deep into the storyline.
Author has beautifully captured the life experience of a struggling artist. So, the book is recommended for readers who wish to fulfill his/her artistic journey.
This book is about 2 pairs of brothers. One is the famous Van Gogh brothers and the other, of Musicians Soubhik Sengupta and Sourav Sengupta. I was particularly invested in the journey of the younger brother. His struggles, love, emotions, and desperation felt very real and close to home. The emotions are very well written by the author and the similarities of the Sen brothers story with the Van Gogh brothers story make it an interesting read. It is an emotional and enjoyable read. Worth trying out.
Title : Brothers Sen Gogh Author : Manik Bal 4 🌟 Brothers Sen Gogh book, is published by Manik Bal is an interesting story of brotherhood.

This is the story of Sengupta brothers who are quite fond of music and embracing there lives through the struggle faced in Bollywood portraying there musical journey of love, friendship, failure and success. Story get exciting when Sourav falls in love with Nethra; a strong and independent women who is the pop singer herself and trying to make her career as a singer in Bollywood. Though the book is a blend of two stories one is of this is Sengupta brothers and second is of Vincent and Theo Van Gogh, yet it didn't create any confusion in the reader's mind and it went well. My favourite part of the book is the Sengupta writing as the love element between Nethra and Sourav kept me hooked till the end including to show real thoughts of the people who recently shifted to Mumbai and are jaw dropped by the fascinated posh area and standard of living by the rich and settled people.A true side of Mumbai has also written about the struggling youngsters trying to fit in , daydreaming about their successful lives, sitting in a local pub or bar having big talks. And my favourite character in this book is Nethra only as I appreciated her qualities penned down quite well This is the first time that I have read such a genre of literature and that too portraying someone's musical journey through words and really like the concept, this book is indeed a treasure for people who are exploring with their different genres.
This book is about 2 brothers and both are artists , the younger brother's fortune becomes good both in professional and love life while the other is struggling to lead a respectable life due to the frustration he starts acting insane which also has affect on his love life and his beloved leaves due to which he begins to lose himself completely and is always mentally disturbed. He is tired on hearing from people that he feeds on his brother's earnings and therefore decides to commit suicide but at that moment the love of his life returns back and he becomes a sane person. The author has exquisitely penned down the struggles of artist and the characters are intrinsic in nature . This is One of the best books I read in my times , kudos to the author.

I loved it. A lot of people have talked about the Van Gogh angle, but I liked the core story even better. The entire world-building about the indie music scene in Mumbai, the romance between Nethra and Sourav, and between Soubhik and Indrani, all these are great narrative. The frustration of a failed creative, the love between the brothers, the idealogical conundrums - all these make for a heartbreaking tale, and it is executed well by Manik. Very highly recommended.
Having ventured into the world of "Brothers Sen Gogh," I found myself captivated by the poignant narrative of Soubhik and Sourav, two brothers navigating the tumultuous waters of the indie music industry in Mumbai. The parallels drawn with the real-life bond of Vincent and Theo lend a historical and artistic richness to the story, setting the stage for a compelling exploration of art, sacrifice, and the pursuit of dreams.
Soubhik's unwavering commitment to preserving his artistic integrity, even at the cost of his sanity and life, struck a chord with me. The narrative beautifully captures the essence of the sacrifices artists make for their craft, and I found myself empathizing with the struggles he faced in upholding his principles in the face of the harsh realities of the music industry.
On the other hand, Sourav's desire for a life of dignity, despite the potential for poverty and strife, adds layers of complexity to the brothers' journey. The delicate documentation of their romances and passion for music, coupled with the exploration of their brotherly bond, creates a narrative that is both emotionally resonant and thought-provoking.
The echoes of Vincent and Theo's story, woven into the fabric of "Brothers Sen Gogh," add a historical depth and suggest that immortality may not be a chain of infinite moments but a singular moment immortalized for its enduring significance. This subtle blending of history and artistry elevates the narrative, inviting readers to ponder the meaning of immortality and the permanence of moments that transcend time.
As the central questions of whether Soubhik and Sourav can live their dreams while staying true to their principles hang in the air, a sense of anticipation builds. The story promises to be a profound exploration of the Mumbai indie music scene, where the pursuit of dreams collides with the harsh realities of the industry known for its cutthroat nature.
"Brothers Sen Gogh" is more than a tale of two brothers; it is a reflection on the human experience of chasing dreams, making sacrifices, and finding meaning in the pursuit of art. The blend of romance, passion, and a commitment to one's craft creates a narrative that is both heartfelt and intellectually stimulating, leaving me eager to uncover the twists and turns that await Soubhik and Sourav in their journey through the vibrant world of indie music in Mumbai.
"Brothers Sen Gogh" unveils a poignant narrative of Soubhik and Sourav, inspired by the real-life bond of Vincent and Theo, as they navigate the unforgiving landscape of the indie music industry in Mumbai. The story captures the essence of their struggle to uphold their artistic integrity while grappling with the harsh realities of life.
Soubhik's commitment to staying true to his art, even at the expense of his sanity and life, sets the stage for a compelling exploration of the sacrifices artists make for their craft. Conversely, Sourav's aspiration for a life of dignity, despite the potential for poverty and strife, adds layers of complexity to the brothers' journey.
The narrative delicately documents the brothers' romances, their passion for music, and their unwavering love for their craft. The power of their brotherly bond becomes a driving force as they confront the challenges of an industry known for its cutthroat nature.
The echoes of Vincent and Theo's story add a historical and artistic dimension to the tale, suggesting that immortality may not be a chain of infinite moments but a single moment immortalized for its enduring significance.
As readers follow the journey of Soubhik and Sourav, the central questions of whether they can live their dream and stay true to their principles create an air of anticipation. The story unfolds as a reflection on the meaning of immortality, hinting at the permanence of moments that transcend the passage of time.
"Brothers Sen Gogh" promises to be a poignant exploration of art, sacrifice, and the pursuit of dreams in the vibrant but challenging landscape of the Mumbai indie music scene. The blend of romance, passion, and a commitment to one's craft creates a narrative that is both heartfelt and thought-provoking.
FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF ''Brothers Sen Gogh" by Manik Bal
Genre: Fiction (Contemporary)
Rating - 4/5
"Brothers Sen Gogh" by Manik Bal. This book is a treat. Well, being a music lover, I can totally relate to this book. This book is a heart-wrenching story of the brothers Soubhik Sengupta and Sourav Sengupta. This book portrays the lives of these brothers who are struggling. Sourav Sengupta is a music producer in the industry, but he couldn't launch his brother Soubhik Sengupta into the industry and make him a singer or enter the music industry. So he struggles so hard for it. Meanwhile goes to Mumbai for some purposes related to his work, and there he met this girl called Nethra, who is from the band of Chattri. After they met a couple of times, they fell in love with each other, but there are many problems that he is facing in his life, but he tried to stay calm and just focus on things to be possible. . This book speaks volumes for the artists and the hard work they do. So coming back to the story after that, they will get to know this heard truth that their father is suffering from Cancer. This book has shown the way most families struggle and try to stay positive even in hard times. This is a very contemporary story, and I loved it. Well, Soubhik Sengupta and Sourav Sengupta are similar to the Van Gogh brothers, so that is the book's title. The author has shown certain similarities without damaging the theme, and I was worried about how this book will turn out for me, but as there are no significant issues in the book in terms of writing style and e.t.c, I enjoyed reading it. But I thought that the cover page can be better.
The tittle seems perfect for a book like this. The story of the book matches with van Gogh brothers at many times.so , I would like say the tittle is perfect choice. It's very rare to find attractive tittles.
The cover is simple yet beautiful. The colour combination and each minimal efforts make it look more appleaing.
The blurb portion is the finest thing in this book. One can get all the required information about the book by only reading the blurb.
The story is about the musical journey of two brothers Soubhik Sengupta and Sourav Sengupta , their story somewhere matches with legendary artist van gogh and his brother vincent. Sourav moved to Mumbai to give his dreams wings. He has a vast knowledge of music and he is a musician too. The good taste of music came from his family Sourav narrated to Nipun , when he was asked about his choice of music. Sourav belonged to a small town in West Bengal, it was very difficult for him to survive in Mumbai, according to his budget. There's is a reason why people say Mumbai isn't for everyone, afterall it's a dream city. Sourav had a guilt that he couldn't launch his brother Soubhik- who was a musician too. But, Sourav had lot of expectation from Mumbai. It would be interesting to see if Mumbai accepts him or not , isn't it ?I would like to recommend this book to everyone who wants to do something magical in their life.

Recommendation 👌 If you are a lover of stories based on people's struggles with interesting sub plots then you gonna definitely love this read. This was my first read from the author and I enjoyed it alot.
This is a story that we would want to turn a blind eye to. This story will probably make you miserable.
This is a story of rejection - of art, of soul, of passion, of hard work and all the "you can do it if you work hard" mentality because no, hard work sometimes doesn't pay off.
This is a story of a failed genius ahead of their time. This is a story of a great artist who could not make it.
Brothers Sen Gogh, the name intrigued me to no end. So, like anyone else I Googled it. And I got that Vincent Van Gogh had a younger brother who was immensely supportive of his work. And that idea is modelled in this novel by @authormanik where two musically gifted brothers from a Bengali family try to make it in the Mumbai music industry. Their only fault is they try to be original and not follow the trend.
The older brother is a musical genius who wants to become an Indie musician who sings, writes lyrics and makes music that nobody wants to hear except a few people. He doesn't give up. Neither does his younger brother in his support him. But situations happen. Life happens. And he doesn't win in this life.
Author Manik Bal has a way with melancholy plots. The hopelessness of life, the fear of rejection, self-doubt and ultimately destruction of the art, passion and soul.
You will get a lot of fantastic music recommendations too.
I absolutely love his writing. And this book is highly recommended.
Book- Brothers Sen Gogh Author- @authormanik . About book: When you start believing in destiny you suddenly fall in love with someone. Here the author illustrates The literature portraying a person's musical journey via words and without a doubt just like the concept. When the lamps go out, people disclose invisible realities adore blooms, friendship transforms and new possibilities take flight. Sourav & nipun are friends Sourav confesses to him that he has a vast knowledge of music & musicians. He is from the good family background. they too practice music. Sourav belonged to a small town in West Bengal, it was very difficult for him to survive in Mumbai, according to his budget. Sourav had guilt that he could not launch his brother Soubhik- who become a musician too. But, Sourav had a lot of expectations from Mumbai. It could be thrilling to peer if Mumbai accepts him or now not, is not it?
A good read!! . Personal insight: it does not fascinate me the most but it was a good read. The plot must not be overestimated as per me. The author has used moral language. Well, overall one time read;
