Spanda means vibration, throb, pulse, or movement. It is the state of Shiva or God. The word Spanda has been used to describe Divine consciousness. The Spanda Karikas and Shiva Sutras belong to the Spanda school of Kashmir Shaivism- a nondualistic philosophy.
