Attirati dalle voci riguardo a un dottore che sembra faccia vivere le persone in eterno, Maru e Kiruko cercano di entrare in contatto con la Comunità Religiosa dell’Immortalità. Emergono poi alcuni ricordi che illuminano il passato della scuola, come i fatti relativi al suicidio di Asura, ma quanto più mondo interno ed esterno all’istituto sembrano vicini a toccarsi, dando risposta ad alcune delle domande che li circondano, tanto più il mistero si infittisce...

Born in Fukui, Japan in 1977, Masakazu Ishiguro (Japanese name: 石黒正数) is an award-winning comic artist who made his debut in 2000 with the Afternoon Magazine Four Seasons Award winning short "HERO".

While Ishiguro initially cut his teeth within the science-fiction realm he is possibly best known for his comedies; particularly the Japan Media Arts Award winning And Yet the Town Moves (Shonen Gahosha). Whismical, stylish and often surreal, Ishiguro's works are often put into their own SF genre (slightly fantastical).

The 4th volumes and WOW so many different things mixed in with things I do know from the anime. Oh my goodness. Like that Maru and Kiruko meet up with that woman who led that movement and Kiruko has a moment. There are some parts about the facility with the kids. We see more on Tokio and it is just so much clearer than in the anime. And there is more. It is just fab. I need to keep on reading this one, though I am a bit hesitant because I heard tales about a chapter 32 which has caused peeps to just stop with the series. So um.. But I will give it a try!

El mejor tomo hasta el momento.
En el anime simplificaron y quitaron unas cuantas cosas (foresadowing sobre todo), también añadieron una escena en determinado momento la cual agradezco porque fue muy bonita, aunque en general quitan contexto. No sé, ambos me gustan, están bien y este punto de la historia me encantó.
Tokio es definitivamente mí personaje favorito, es adorable 🥹 que protejan a mi bb.

POPKULTUROWY KOCIOŁEK: W czwartej odsłonie serii Maru i Kiruko infiltrują kryjówkę „Nieśmiertelnego Zakonu”. W miejscu tym bohaterowie zostają brutalnie zaatakowani przez liczne pożeracze. Wydarzenia w szkole zaś nabierają tempa. Tokio czuje się źle, a uczniowie odkrywają sekrety przeszłości placówki. Tajemnice i niebezpieczeństwo splatają się, tworząc napięcie w obu światach.

Tom mocno rozwija podwójną linię czasową, co trochę utrudnia śledzenie fabuły, lecz dodaje historii głębi. Autor bawi się czasem, wprowadzając retrospekcje i równoległe wątki postapokaliptyczne oraz naukowe. Przez to niektóre fragmenty są powolne i monotonne, ale równoważą napięcie i dramatyczne momenty.

Manga ciekawie ukazuje złożoność relacji między bohaterami i różnymi grupami. Konflikty między „zakonem” a ich przeciwnikami wprowadza dodatkowe zagrożenie. Twórca pokazuje manipulację tłumem, gniew protestujących i niebezpieczeństwo eksperymentów medycznych, podkreślając moralne dylematy świata.

Na scenie pojawiają się także nowe postacie, takie jak doktor Usami, którzy przekazuje głównej dwójce istotne informacje o pożeraczach. Ta postać wnosi ludzki aspekt do mrocznej opowieści i kieruje bohaterów na kolejną ścieżkę przygody. Bardzo interesująco prezentuje się także równoległa akcja w szkole. Mimihime doświadcza halucynacji, a retrospekcje odkrywają przeszłość Asury. Tokio zaś zmaga się z własnymi objawami choroby, co buduje napięcie i wprowadza elementy dramatyczne.

Choć tempo historii bywa tutaj nierówne, fabuła pozostaje wciągająca. Tom kończy się zaś wydarzeniami, które nie tyle skłaniają co wręcz zmuszają czytelnika do szybkiego sięgnięcia po kolejną część....

I would really like if it was established earlier that Kiruko is prone to panic attacks of such magnitude, because this felt like it came out of nowhere. I still don't really get what happened, what triggered it etc.
I am not a fan of the solution because I think it is not taking such an issue seriously. That being said, my shipping heart cannot but love this, right? Of course I would prefer they would kiss with consent, and I believe I will get that one day, but this seemed like it was needed for certain someone to open their eyes.
That possition! And the fact that it makes Kiruko feel so girly she gets her first period. I just... oh, it's too good. Also Maru was not blushing at all, for once. He was genuinely scared for her. And the way he brought up Robin like some ex...
Then the reassuring back hug on the roof? Or how in Mizuhashi's flat Kiruko again came to the rescue when Maru felt doubts about what he did that day?
Or her later scaring him for funsies and him chasing her around? How cute was that?

I really did not care for that fight between Mizuhashi's group and the other one. Or the storyline in past with the children.

I did cry though, for Shiro and Mimihime. I did not expect it to get me like that.

Similarly to Dorohedoro, there's not a lot to grasp onto. In this case though, I have picked up these books with muted enthusiasm and put them down excited to read the next one. There are little vignettes of mysteries about the world to keep us on our toes; Juichi served this role well. Ishiguro leaves little non-sequitors for us to ponder, but they seem pretty innocuous. Until Kiruko reveals the scam! I like the split between the school and the outside much more than in the anime, where the school was usually just an annoying distraction. There is a lot of crap to remember about the setting, but not all of it seems important so I won't worry about it too much. There's a simple, compelling story beneath it all; the relationship of Maru and Kiruko as they trek across the ruins.

Entretenidísima mandanga muy recomendada para los que tenemos debilidad por el postapocalíptico. Comparado con "Promised Neverland" a mí me ha recordado algo más a los niños viejos de "Akira" mezclado con una curiosa e incipiente reflexión sobre la identidad sexual dirigida a un público adolescente que a ver dónde acaba (la reflexión, no el público). Sólidamente dibujado y narrado con fluidez y limpieza, Ishiguro maneja con humor y mucha habilidad la trama y la distribución de zanahorias diversas (giros, sorpresas, revelaciones) para picar continuamente el interés del lector, resultando una lectura de lo más entretenida y adictiva.

Still very eeh about this series because of the scenes of child exploitation and hints of incest but like the world building and mystery behind it all. Setting aside the dislikable characters, this volume raised more questions than answers only making me curiouser on how it will all go down. I can't stop reading this series but if I see one more unnecessary super icky scene between children, I might stop completely. Luckily this volume did not have as much of those scenes as the last volumes so I'm hoping it dies down and there are no more from here on out.

Easily my favorite volume so far, which is no surprise as these were probably my favorite episodes of the anime too. And tbh the anime did such an incredible job adapting this that it was much more emotional to me there (the music, the voice acting, and just the rhythm of each scene feels so perfect). But also this had the most significant scenes so far left out of the anime, so it was nice to get some bonus content. But yeah this is great stuff, the most emotional and enjoyable and fulfilling volume. Some really exciting answers that raise even more enticing questions.

Finalmente la historia empieza a tomar ritmo, pero sigue teniendo destellos de sucesos o relaciones que me dejan ¿? Lo de Kano con Tokio just...

Intento ver lo bueno como la rebelión, lo del doctor Usami, la búsqueda a la escuela, pero en realidad no me termina de enganchar por completo.

Reseña manga: Heavenly Delusion, de Masakazu Ishiguro!

🎒Hoy os traigo una serie manga que ya os he recomendado anteriormente en alguna ocasión, pero es que mola mucho: Heavenly Delusion!

🥾En esta serie nos encontramos una historia de lo más inusual, por un lado tenemos una trama de lo más misteriosa:
Un grupo de niños viven encerrados en una institución, aislados del mundo y con una tecnología bastante avanzada y habilidades especiales.
Y por otro lado tenemos la historia de dos jóvenes que recorren un mundo postapocalíptico donde hay monstruos que devoran personas, ciudades en ruina y un ambiente de lo más caótico.

🔫Solo con esto ya logró llamarme la atención, la verdad que me dio una corazonada y acerté totalmente. Heavenly Delusion se ha convertido en una de mis series confort!

🚧En cuanto a los pilares principales:

📰La trama es muy buena, te va dando información a cuentagotas y no dejan de aparecer misterios y secretos a medida que avanzamos. Además engancha bastante!

🤖Los personajes están muy bien hechos, sobre todo la parte de los jóvenes que están en el mundo distópico, es a los que más conoceremos y no solo son muy completos sino que encajan muy bien en la historia.

🏚️Y por último el worldbuilding: el mundo en ruinas, la institución, la tecnología e incluso los dones molan mucho. Queda por descubrir demasiado aún tras cinco tomos pero por ahora lo que nos ha mostrado está genial!

🔦Por cierto el dibujo es muy original, incluso si no os llama de primera os recomiendo que le deis una oportunidad ya que cada tomo tiene un nivel muy bueno que no decae en ningún momento!

🧫Os la recomiendo si os gustan las historias postapocalípticas o distópicas, las novelas con muchos secretos o si buscáis algo muy original para leer!
