Do you want to thrive as a homeschool mama? In this book Teresa Wiedrick gets to the heart of the issues surrounding your less-than-thriving experience with homeschooling and offers helpful tips and strategies that will take you beyond mere survival. While it contains tips for nurturing the nurturer, it is much more than just another thing for your to-do list. You will feel validated and understood, and enjoy some humor as well. Just starting out? Teresa has wisdom for you as an experienced Mama. Reviewers say "It was like going on a retreat in the comfort of my own home...you really make me feel understood and validated..."
I think this book would be wonderful for homeschooling parents that are just starting out. A lot of the notions and advice are really geared at families that are just starting out. I found that the topics were a bit repetitive. So as a homeschooling mom of 9 years, I didn't really feel like it was something I needed or that really spoke to me. But I'm trying to bring myself back to when I first started and maybe then, I would have really enjoyed it.
The first time I was learned about Teresa and her work was through the Canadian Homeschool Conference. After her session, I noticed her website and found her book for sale. I've read a good number of homeschool books, but this stood out from the others. It hit every nail on the head, in terms of the feelings and thoughts that run through a homeschooling parents mind. It truly reflects it's title!
I loved this book so much, I sent it to a friend and recommend it to every homeschooler I chat with about booklists. Between Julie Bogarts Brave Learner and Teresa Wiedrick Nurturing the Nurturer, every parent that chooses this path, will be braced with more confidence, support and encouragement.
