Pappy goes down!

“Hunter was as deadly as they came. As I stared at him, I realized that he reminded me a lot of Dwayne Johnson. His muscles were just as big and he was just as tall. His face was even similar. With his shaved head, he could easily pass as a sibling.”
- said by Maggie in “Cap” (Reed Security, #2).

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💜💙💚💛
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌎
Character development: 😟😣🙃🙂🥰

The heroine: Lucy Grant - Sister to Claire from the last book “Irish”, Lucy has been going to graduate school to become a professor, all while helping Claire take care of their Dad who has Alzheimer’s. Lucy only wants a friends with benefits relationship with Hunter.

The Hero(es): Hunter Papacosta (a.k.a. Pappy) - He works for Reed Security and is on Derek’s team. He used to sleep with his team-mate Lola to help take her mind off the demons in her head when she would wake up screaming. He also had a friends with benefits arrangement with Lucy, which he was perfectly happy with.

The Story: When Lucy almost died in a fire at their father’s farm, Pappy realizes he feels more for her than he though and he strong arms her into staying with him. Though Lucy is not the type to take orders from any man. She decides who she wants to be with and when.

A side storyline about someone stalking Lucy is really good. Though Hunter is trying to get Lucy back after they break up, he is not the one stalking her. There are a few people that it could possibly be so every time you think you know who it is, something changes so you aren’t quite sure.

The humor in these books is terrific. It seems that each one gets funnier than the last. There are several scenes in the book where I was laughing out loud they were so funny. It seems that the more men in Reed Security that fall in love, the funnier they get about being in love.

“Ladies, please,” Knight interrupted as we stood in front of the door. “Can we go catch the psycho and get the girl back or would you like to stand here and discuss your favorite books some more? I could order some tea and crumpets and we could have a little book club meeting.”

It is really kind of awesome to see these big tough muscular guys be so whipped over the women they love. Not only that, but the advice they give each other is truly hilarious.

Desire and love don’t always go hand in hand…

Lucy and Hunter can’t seem to get on the same page. Or even the same chapter. They want each other – oh yes, the desire is high and just a glance or a touch will set them off – but it’s everything else that is the problem. Hunter is protective and says he wants to pursue a relationship with Lucy but actions, and missteps, speak louder than words. Lucy, on the other hand, is ready to move forward together but, taking her cues from Hunter, decides to cut her losses…

Anxiety, uncertainty, angst. There is so much of that here that love has a hard time gaining ground. I desperately wanted these two to get their act together and wanted to jump into pages more than once and do just that. They seemed to try, they really did, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the antics Hunter and his crew came up with to “help” his cause.

While the back and forth between these two was really abrupt at times, so abrupt to disrupt the story’s flow more than once, Hunter and Lucy’s love still shone through. This was my first read of the series, a solid standalone story, that has me searching for more…

Let me tell you something guys, at first glance or should I say read, Hunter and Lucy shouldn't be together but when you invest with earnest in a disfunctional couple, you get to see parts of them that you didn't see before and that's absolutely the case with our couple, Hunter and Lucy.

At first, they both and agreed to a no strings attached casual thing and and then something bad happened in the last book... go check it out to find out what happened but it was a near tragedy for Lucy and it made Hunter realize his true feelings... but like an alpha caveman male, instead of speaking to Lucy, he demanded and let's just say that didn't fly with Lucy, who's a feisty spitfire and definitely put him in his place several times because he truly did need it ;)

Of course, in every story, there's always unforeseen evil forces and obstacles to fight, overcome and win but with the help of their good friends, who are like a family, a united family, they get through it and get their HEA ♡♡

I can't wait to read more about Lola because that situation is very intriguing and I'm also wondering who her love interest will be!? It'll have to be a strong and understanding alpha male because this chick from what I've read is a hell of a strong young woman who's been through literally hell, a true survivor, a ball-buster and has a foul mouth... wonder who will tame this wildcat? Already excited to read her story when it does come out! ;)

First of all, you need to read the other books in the series first to truly understand this world and know about the characters. You do not HAVE to, but it will make the reading experience even better for you!

That being said, Hunter was always one of my favorites in the books before, but I found out just how stubborn the guy is getting his perspective. It makes it even better that his leading lady, Lucy, is JUST as stubborn. I liked the chemistry, heart and heat between the two and really enjoyed reading it even though there were a few frustrating times! All in all I give this 4 outta 5 stars and totally recommend it!

PS: I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

So I’ve been working through the “For the Love of a Good Woman” series and I stumbled across the opportunity to read “Hunter” which is part of the “Reed Security” series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say I wish I had read the rest of the series first, but it’s not necessary.

This book follows Hunter, a former military man and Reed Security employee and Lucy, a college professor, through their friends to lovers style romance. It was difficult for both of them and of course they had their share of drama along the way.

Well written with plenty of suspense and an an enjoyable story line that kept me guessing.

Secondary characters saved the book

I loved Hunter in the prior books. However, in his own book? Not as much.

Lucy was introduced in the last book and was all about getting laid. She didn't care who it was. That, by definition, is a slut. So don't be getting all upset by the term because all it means is a person who has many casual partners. And that is exactly how she was introduced.

I was 2% into this book and I thought Lucy was just a big beach. And yes, swap out that ea with an it please. I couldn't stand her. And honestly, my opinion of her did not get much better throughout the book.

The book starts out with them deciding to try a relationship. Neither one of them have had relationships in the past. He's been a manwhore and she's been a slut. Those are not usually conducive for monogamous relationships.

They've known each other awhile though and they know how each other thinks to a degree, so they try a relationship and after a day she calls it quits because he got freaked out that she wanted a drawer in his dresser. In his room that he's never once had a female in. The whole situation was absolutely ridiculous. Their backgrounds are what made them who they are and they're trying to move forward together which is great, But she didn't give him a chance. She just called it quits after a day. Mind you, he kept telling her that she was his. And yes he went about things the wrong way by demanding not asking, blah blah blah. But in reality he told her what he wanted. And listening to her thoughts in the first chapter, she wanted the same thing! She just didn't think he wanted it. But he kept telling her and she just didn't listen. But knowing in the first chapter that she wants him just as much as he wants her and knowing what she did with Derek's brother from the first book, I didn't like her character at all. Hence the beach. And I don't call women that usually. But man, the women in these books are absolutely ridiculous!

I don't understand how they get such good radiance. I really don't. These books are not that good. They have so much potential, but then stupid crap jacks it up. Every time.

So Lucy gives up on him after a day and then she turns around and in the second or third chapter she is screwing Derek's brother and then she starts her new job thinking that she's going to be done with Hunter and she starts a "friendship" with one of the other teachers. And she thinks he's good looking and could maybe go for him. Really? Just like that? Or is he just going to be another scratch on your bedpost? Cuz that sounds more likely. Then she decides she doesn't want to date where she works and runs into a guy at the grocery store, Noah. She goes out on a date with Noah and he's a real tool. But the potential was there. All of it just made her look like a real floozy and not sticking with anything that she says because ultimately it really made it sound like she would have dated the guy from school, Graham.

In order for a relationship to happen, they definitely need to give up other people. Hunter did that early on. She did not.

She wanted Hunter to change his ways. Change who he is, his personality, stop being so demanding and listen to what she wants. Basically, stop being everything that he is. But God forbid she communicate anything with him in a timely manner. So by the time he actually does change, it's too late in her mind. and WTF? Changing completely who you are is not something one should have to do. Changing a few habits? Sure. Clean up after yourself, put your clothes away. Understandable. But changing who you are fundamentally-a protector who is an alpha male? No. Why would you ask him to change? And then, after he did change, she missed the old hunter! But again, she never told him that either!!

So yeah, the characters themselves were absolutely horrible. But, I still love all the secondary characters. I love Knight. His book has been my favorite. He is unapologetically an assassin who loves his girl. But he also gave up that life on his own to be with her. Hunter never got that option. It was more like a, you change or I leave ultimatum. And I disagree with that.

I also loved when Kate came in and laid it out for Lucy... Telling her of hunters devotion to her in addition to the fact that it was taking her man away as well because Knight was supporting Hunter.

The ending of this book was garbage. Lucy is like just emotional basket case with no clue as to what's going on around her and apparently doesn't believe Hunter for anything that he says. He wants her and wants to be with her and is with her everyday. So he suggests going back to his house for a change instead of her place and she goes to the bathroom crying. So then he proposes as they're yelling at each other about what each other wants. How ridiculous can you be with characters? And this isn't the first time I felt that way. Maggie was bad too!

I'm just trying to get to Lola's story at this point. Then I'm done. I can't with these characters.

Hunter

Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.

This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.

The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.

You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.

Ahh this one got me again! Hunter was a great novel. It, once again, stole all my attention and kept me up far too late. I mean one more chapter turned into finishing the entire book. So there is that. Hunter has a bit of mystery much like Irish, but the mystery is different in this one. There is also heat and romance, but a lot more conflict in this one. This is a stand-alone in a series. I have only read one other in the series, but I felt its not a requirement to read all the rest, even though I want to.
So Hunter begins where Irish left off. So it might be helpful to read Irish, but they catch you up pretty quickly. Hunter and Lucy have had what you might call relations, but it never equaled a relationship. When an event occurs making Hunter question his feelings, things change. At least for Hunter they do. Can he convince Lucy to take a chance or will he end up losing her in the end?
Lucy is funny. She is strong willed and stubborn, but I actually love that about her. She sticks to her guns and is trying to be independent and live life for herself. You can’t fault a girl for that. Hunter is a jerk at times, but I think he really means well. I love his alpha personality and dominate ways, but I can see how frustrating they can be as well. I loved his character.
The heat between these two is there as it has been since the last book I read in the series. There is an obvious attraction seeing as they have slept together in the past, as noted in the book. What I think I love most is watching this attraction slowly simmer until it is turned into something more. You know they say you can’t watch a pot of water boil. You can’t help but watch these two combust.
I liked the writing style of this book. It is told from dual point of views. The pace is steady. I liked all the anticipation in the book. Also, talk about surprise freaking ending. Like holy heck the author had me so thrown off. I really didn’t know what to think. I really enjoyed this book.
Overall, I am happy with this book. Even though it made me lost sleep, it also left me feeling satisfied. This book made me laugh, cry, cringe, and sit on the edge of my seat. If you like romance books with dirty sex and a bit of mystery, then this is the book for you. I cannot wait to see where the author takes us next. I plan to go back and read the others as well.

I’ve wanted to know more about Hunter since we started finding out more about his friendship with Knight (Knight, #4). Then in Irish(#5) we met Lucy and after what happened between her and Hunter, I couldn’t wait to start their story.

Hunter is a demanding man, for someone who wasn’t interested in relationships and all that comes with it he’s suddenly claiming Lucy is his and won’t comprehend anything else. This stubbornness clashes with how stubborn Lucy is and suddenly this friend with benefits situation has just become a lot more complicated. The majority of the book focuses on the chemistry, heat, and care that is building between the two of them after an attempt at a relationship crashes before it’s even really begun. In Hunter’s endeavour to win Lucy back and show her that he can be trusted to be in a relationship a lot of hilarity ensues. Reading about the men of Reed Security trying to navigate relationships is one of my favourite things about this series, and the plan they come up with for Hunter to win Lucy back results in one of the funniest scenes in the series. Who would have thought these rough and rugged men would be comparing wax jobs and after care.

Just as Hunter and Lucy seem to be back on track a stalker who has created a few problems so far increases his attempts to get to Lucy. What follows is a high-stake situation that shows how ready the men of Reed Security are to jump into action and use the training they have. These chapters are really intense and show the lengths that Hunter is going to go to keep his woman safe. But what follows is a demonstration of how caring Hunter is and how he’s always got Lucy’s best interest at heart, giving her what she wants but also calming that thing inside of him which demands he care for and protects her.

Hunter and Lucy’s story is angsty, intense, and full of a back and forth between two stubborn people perfectly suited to each other, if only they’d realise it sooner. The story pulls you in and keeps you reading wanting to know what is going to happen to them both and what the other characters are getting up to. Bring on the next one.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I greatly enjoyed Hunter, #6 of the Reed Security series.
Recently we had the scorching & truly heartbreaking intensity of Knight, #4, which was relieved by the humor laden Irish, #5.
I was drawn to the side story of Hunter (Pappy) & Lucy throughout Irish, #5, their interactions intrigued me & I was hoping Hunter & Lucy's story would be next.

Everything is fine between Hunter & Lucy until he makes the unilateral decision their casual sex arrangement is now a committed relationship. Of course, Lucy might have something to say about THAT.
Hunter is Knight's best friend (although that becomes a bone of light hearted contention) & ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA. Hunter's approach to life equates to using a sledgehammer to mash peas. He commands, 'ask & subtle' are not in his vocabulary.
Lucy is Claire's (Irish's woman) sister & is a practical, goal oriented modern woman. Lucy's approach to her life is she knows what she wants, when she wants it & how she'll get it.
Hunter & Lucy remind me of a rock & a hard place, oil & vinegar, dry grass & flame: How can two such strong personalities EVER be together? A hard journey to attempt & how the sparks do fly along the way!

I found Hunter, #6, to be a perfect blending of Knight, #4, & Irish, #5: Intensity due to unknown deadly foe(s), & humor due to interactions between Hunter, the other Reeders, Lucy & Claire.
(Note: You will NOT view a day at the spa the same EVER again!!)
And considering how brilliant & lethal the Reeders are, when it comes to relationship advice & personal interactions, sometimes they SERIOUSLY need to be smacked upside the back of the head! But then other times they are spot on, supremely loyal & deeply caring to those they love & treasure.
I felt this was a superb story & I thought the very end was perfect!
Another wonderful addition to the series :0)

Book after book and my mind can't stop. I've been reading so much lately and let me just say that I'm overwhelmed with every single one.
Giulia Lagomarsino is doing an amazing job and her books are to die for. Her writing is intense, hot, special and with a bit of suspense...
Hunter is the sixth book from the Reed Security series and tells the stories of Hunter and Lucy.
This series has been amazing and each book made me feel things that I can't describe.
But you need to read the other books first by doing it you will understand this story better. Get ready to fall in love...
Hunter aka Pappy is into security, a job that he loves after leaving the military. He lives to protect and his brothers are everything for him. He's a one night stand kind of guy and isn't interested in falling in love or having his life tied to one person. But...
Lucy is a teacher that divided her days taking care of her father with the help of her sister. She's not into commitment as well but let's just say that she found her match in stubbornness...
OMG, this book is so so good.
Perfect plot, super engaging and intense. Each scene made me keep reading and reading.
I was so happy for this chance because this book nailed it. I'm so happy.
These two are super stubborn and perfect for each other. There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone, for crying out loud these two. But there were others that I wanted to hold them and promise that everything would be fine.
Some chapters scared the living hell out of me and I was super anxious to see how that would end...
It's superb the chance to keep reading about the other characters from previous books and I can't wait to read the next one. Oh boy...
Giulia... Oh, Giulia this series is becoming my favorite of all times. More, please.

Lucy Grant is a very stubborn woman. Hunter Papacosta is an overbearing SOB. One thing I learned rather quickly about him is that he runs hot and cold pretty quickly – and they say women are bad. In his defense, Lucy seemed to say one thing but always seems to do something else. And in her defense, I don’t think she really knows what she wants.

These two have a relationship that’s hard to describe – it’s one you’ll have to experience on your own. But if you want a picture then think Neanderthal wearing pants swinging an invisible club. Hunter will give you plenty of laughable moments too. I’m afraid the jokes on him. Some of that was because he seems so clueless – for being such a smart man. I loved watching Lucy making him squirm as much as possible. But as the story continues I can understand his frustration because I also became frustrated. You will find that this author is very devious too and I loved it a lot. Especially when the story shifts from a relationship to a mystery. And I got an ending that just stopped – I wanted more.

If you need a story that will entertain than this story will do that for you. There were times where I laughed so hard that there was no way that I couldn’t picture what was going on. Just a warning – if you laugh as much as I did you can expect this book to take longer than the previous books. You will find that this was time well spent. And speaking of previous books, Lucy’s sister has her own story so make sure to check out Irish – if you haven’t already. I think with this story it was the most I’ve ever laughed with a book.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

"Hunter" is the sixth book in the Reed Security Series, offering a blend of romance and suspense, and sizzle..Lucy and Hunter have been dancing around each other for forever. When Lucy finds herself in a dire situation, it makes Hunter reassess his feelings for the woman. Are they deeper than he thought? This book is a captivating read with sizzling chemistry. The steamy scenes are sexy and intensely hot, adding to the allure of their relationship.

Hunter's reactions to certain situations are enough to give a girl whiplash, or is it because it's a bunch of misunderstandings? After all, is one more pigheaded than the other? Lucy is a headstrong woman, Hunter, an arrogant alpha male who insists on having things his way. As a threat looms over Lucy, Hunter is determined to protect her.

Hunter's character development and his evolving involvement with Lucy kept me hooked from start to finish. Despite our initial reservations about Lucy's attitude( she got on our nerves because she was too stubborn and headstrong, it became annoying at times), we enjoyed witnessing their growth and mutual understanding. The witty dialogue and humor added a charming touch to the narrative, making it an enjoyable read.

The characters are fantastic. Lucy and Hunter are lovable characters, both stubborn characters, making their journey towards each other all the more compelling. The story is filled with action, romance, humor beautiful friendships. Lucy's stalker adds a layer of suspense, with multiple suspects who could be behind the threats.

We eagerly anticipate diving into the next book in the series, as we are loving the series as well as its characters.

It was okay.

So I made a REALLY BIG deal about reading this book and the fact that I was series jumping in the middle. I rather think it deserves a review.

And to be honest, I probably should have just stopped after the first 20%. But I was hopeful.

First, there is a continuing thread (supposedly) throughout the books. I am not sure exactly what it was. I mean I wasn't lost so there's a plus.

What worked:
It gave me Alexa Riley "instalove-alpha-possessive-mine" vibes with the hero. It's not safe so just a warning to those who read AR for the safe books. I will say the mystery/thriller in the middle was really good and wished there was more of that story development instead of the 20% I read. The steamy scenes at the start were hot but then...

What to consider:
Not a lot of depth in the story development. This is one of those fun reads that as soon as you are done, you move on. The characters were somewhat entertaining, however not gripped to go read through the entire series. Now the steamy scenes. There are a lot of them. I mean the couple says two things in the same room and BOOM. But as the story progressed, the sex felt rushed.

I am sure there will be readers who will love this series. It fits a spot on bookshelves to fill that entertaining alpha heroes, sassy-ass heroines all mixed in an interconnected series.
For me...well ... not for me to continue.

Hunter and Lucy have been friends with benefits for some time, when he decides that he wants more. However, since he's never done the relationship thing, he screws it up right from the beginning by telling her what to do, then freaking out afterwards, so Lucy calls it off. Hunter isn't happy with that, and it starts a crazy journey that kept me laughing long & hard (cob webs & waxing mishaps), as he came up with a plan to make her his. Like I mean I was rolling in laughter, and it made it hard to breathe, as his buddies made up the cast of secondaries trying to help him. In between the laughter, their chemistry was insanely HOT, which provided sexy times that tried to set the house on fire, as they tended to really enjoy walls. They also took the cake with a push & pull that drove me up the wall, not to mention, made the angst levels rise throughout the story. Finally, that danger stalking her provided me some serious twists that had f-bombs raining down in between the insane amount of laughing, and yeah, it's so funny that it's worth repeating. Giulia Lagomarsino has become a favorite of mine in a very short time, as this is another story that gripped from the beginning to the very end. Her brilliantly original writing style is highly addictive, and I'll NEVER EVER get enough! CANNOT WAIT for more in this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Two stubborn headstrong people combined with sizzling chemistry and a touch of angst hit you right from the start in this book. Hunter and Lucy have quite a bit of hot and cold going on from the beginning. Both wanting more yet neither one wanting to actually give. My heart hurt for them both in different ways as they navigated through the ups and downs of finding their way together.
More than once I found myself wanting to kick Hunter. Despite his obvious feelings for Lucy his stubbornness for any sort of compromise threw up roadblock after roadblock. That was the only real downfall for me with this book. Stubbornness. Both of them being so stubborn at times it came off quite childish and made it hard for me to really connect with the story.
Despite the hot and cold between these two that took it to the extreme the serious chemistry and electric spark that always flew between them didn’t fail to keep me going even when I was frustrated. That with a good bit of nail biting suspense, moments of pure sweetness, and the occasional hysterically funny moments really brought the story back to life for me. Overall Hunter makes for a good read on a day when you’re really feeling the need for some good angst to go with your swoon.

I absolutely love each and every one of these Reed Security guys and the women that enter their lives. This is another great book in the phenomenal series. I loved reading about Hunter and Lucy. This story was full of events and conversations which gave you little tidbits of information to further along the story but also to keep in the back of your mind as you continue on with the series. Hunter and Lucy's story is a different look at a relationship as both of these characters have no idea what a relationship means or includes. These two are so stubborn that they do not communicate well with each other and when they do, its a yelling match. But you love them just the same as all the other couples that have come before them. This book starts and ends, in total Hunter and Lucy style. I also have to say, this book also showed alot of the banter between the guys of Reed Security and I found myself laughing my head off. You will love the 'book club' comments, I know I did.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an ARC from BookSprout.

I don't know how Giulia Lagomarsino manages to write so quickly such fantastic books, normally a series of this amount of books either takes forever or you at least get one book that's not quite up to the standards of the others, but so far every book that I have read in the series is fantastic, with some being so funny I was actually belly laughing and the others getting you on the edge of your seat and all with the right amount of steamy sex and most of all romance.
This one is about Lucy and Hunter and although they have a 'friends with benefits' arrangement things get serious very quickly for Hunter when Lucy is in a life or death situation and he thought he might loose her. Their tug of war love and feelings are quite comical and the chemistry is brilliant. I know one thing I'm going to be gutted when the series ends, I just hope Giulia can get another series going quickly before I get withdrawal systems !!!!!

Hunter and Lucy

Neither wants a serious relationship. Friends with benefits is just fine. With her sister and Derek together they saw a lot of each other. They spent time in bed until that didn't seem to be enough. But both fought it until someone seemed to be hunting her. He didn't plan to let her get hurt.

There is plenty going on both at work and out. Of course, he had to watch out for her. She was family with her connection to Derek. What he wouldn't admit were his feelings that were changing. Not to the point of being exclusive. The more time he spent with her the more he wanted. She nipped that in the bud, until, the minor problem got worse.

These two fight their feelings long and hard. The team's advice on romance is, as always, really bad and hysterical.

Another fun, with some serious danger thrown in, read by the author. Each book just shows these amazing guys with trouble getting their women but once they do they're never letting go. Plenty of steam and humor along with characters we know and love.

This is the sixth book in the Reed Security Series and it brings readers Hunter and Lucy’s story. Lucy is Claire’s sister, who readers met in Irish’s book, and she is a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. Hunter is Knight’s best friend and his way of dealing with life is to issue commands and expect everyone to follow his directive. As Lucy’s sister is involved with Irish, Lucy and Hunter spent quite a bit of time around the other so they opted to have a “friends with benefits” situation as neither one was interested in a serious relationship. However, when it seems that Lucy has a stalker, Hunter wants to change things between them but Lucy sticks to her guns and tells Hunter to back off. Will Hunter get the message and stay away for good? This is one book that will have you wanting to pull your hair out at times but definitely worth it at the end. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the books in order. I cannot wait to dive into the next book in the series. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

Hunter and Lucy have been enjoying a friends with benefits relationship with both of them thinking that was all the other wanted. Circumstances change when Lucy is in jeopardy and Hunter wants a commitment however problems arise when he demands one of her rather than asking.

When Lucy’s independence emerges, Hunter realizes that if he is going to convince Lucy that they belong together for always he may have to try a different approach. It was a great plan in theory, but his alpha male has a hard time backing down especially when Lucy is not out of danger and he is determined to protect her despite her objections.

These two are perfect for each other. They are both stubborn and demanding and have a way of challenging each other about everything that just adds to the sparks between them. This is a great series that manages to combine the right amount of family, romance and suspense into the perfect package. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This on again, off again romance between Lucy and Hunter was full of contradictions. Hunter wanted Lucy to admit that she was hers. He tells her he wants more from her than just sex, then immediately retreats and gets cold feet when he thinks everything is moving too fast. Lucy has a mind of her own and she’s not impressed with Hunter’s lack of commitment and ditching her at his apartment within twelve hours of her moving in.
I liked that she was independent and knew when to move on, but I didn’t like that she hooked up almost immediately with someone else, and continued to date random men who showed interest in her. I appreciated the lack of details in these encounters. I also liked that Hunter admitted that he made a major mistake by pulling away from Lucy when he did.
A bit of drama with the mysterious notes and Suspenseful buildup with the mysterious stalker. Well written fast paced story

Title: Hunter (Reed Security, #6)
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

ARC received in return for an honest review.

Giulia has done it again, these men and their books just keep getting better and better, hotter too.

It’s now the turn of Hunter, former military man who’s now part of the Reed Security family and his love interest Lucy, their story is a friends to lovers type of relationship although I’d use the term friends loosely they butt heads quite a bit especially in the beginning and their relationship does have a few bump along the way, they sure do have their fair share of drama.

Together these two were like watching a pan of boiling water, just waiting there for things to boil over. Like I said plenty of drama, a dash of suspense and some seriously hot, dirty monkey sex make this another five star read from the very talented Ms Giulia Lagomarsino, I really look forward to seeing what comes next.

Hunter is the 6th book in the Reed Security Romance Series by Giulia Lagomarsino. Lucy and Hunter (aka “Pappy”) have a contentious on again, off again, hot, sexual relationship with no firm do’s and don’ts. Hunter wants an exclusive commitment between them, but he is hesitant to move Lucy into his home and bedroom. Lucy feels free to enjoy other relationships because of Hunter’s limitations. Then Lucy begins to receive cryptic messages claiming she belongs to “him,” followed by her apartment being trashed. She is followed by an unknown and Hunter engages in a one-man protection detail. Twice Hunter is set upon, once knocked out and then a bomb is set to kill him. During all these dangerous events Hunter learns he either will lose Lucy for good or he will be gradually educated in what he needs to do in order to win Lucy back. All bets are off when Lucy is kidnapped. This book is definitely about the battle of the sexes with some dangerous thrills built in. Very exciting book.

Frustrating immature leads

The writing and suspense plot is very good and so far I've enjoyed this authors work. However almost this entire book, and certainly the last handful of chapters, could have been avoided if Hunter and Lucy were even semi adults that could communicate. I don't buy them being in love when they are literally incapable of having a single honest conversation. They don't seem to know anything other than how to pleasure and annoy each other. Now this series has been filled with questionable and at times super toxic relationships but they have so far found their way and settled into something that's at the least honest and believable. However these two are so stubborn they are literally yelling at one another on the last page. It makes me question if the rest of the series is worth my time or if I should move on, I couldn't read another book like this one.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say that I absolutely loved this book. Lucy and Hunter are combustible they have so much chemistry. What they both lack is an ability to communicate what it is that they want from each other. Throw in a minor freak out on Hunter's part and a chain of events are set off that have you crying, laughing hysterically, and wanting to hit the characters separately over the head with the book while yelling "look at what is right in front of you". I was second guessing myself the entire book as to who was after Lucy and was kept right on the edge of my seat until the reveal. One of my favourite things about this book in the series was seeing how the guys of Reed Security are growing and evolving into great partners for their leading ladies and better friends to one another.

Received this book as an arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
I honestly hope this author never suffers with writer's block. Her ideas and the conversation between these men are awesome.

I couldn't quite connect with hunter and lucy in this book. The first half of the story I found it to be a little slow at times with hunter and Lucy inability to show each other how they really fell about one another.

The second half I was like wow it got so good that I could stop reading I wanted to see what was going to happen next. When Lucy got kidnapped I was shouting at my kindle for her to be rescued. In the end hunter did not disappoint he stepped right up. I was happy and sad at the same time with this book.
Giulia lagomarsino is becoming one of my favourite authors you never know what you are going to get with her.
I highly recommend this book.

Hunter has become enamoured with Blaire’s (Irish) sister Lucy. After the fire that destroyed their house, he barely convinces her to stay with them. Their arrangement was as intimate buddies only, no emotions. Well, that doesn’t work so well for him and these feelings are foreign to him as he has never had a relationship. The guys are giving him advice but the whole situation is awkward for him. Now Lucy has some pretty deep feelings for him but she wants her independence not his male dominance. Lots of action with explosions and kidnapping. Will they be able to iron out the wrinkles and stop tiptoeing around each other?

A little frustrating but still a decent read

Book 6 in the Reed security series. This book is about Lucy and Hunter. Lucy is in hospital and Hunter is demanding that she goes to his house. Things are very complicated between them, he desperately wants things to change and little does he know, Lucy does want him but is too afraid to be honest about her feelings. Hunter has never been the settling down type so Lucy has to protect her heart. Finally, Hunter let’s her know he wants more with her. Things go well but only for a short period of time and Lucy gets an apartment of her own. They struggle in their relationship especially since Hunter has never been in one. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book
