Lola is the eighth book in the Reed Security series and the conclusion to Ryan's book in the series For The Love Of A Good Woman. The books should be read in order.

“Ladies, I’m going to demonstrate how you can take out someone that is coming at you from the front. Now, Derek is going to come at me.” I motioned him forward and I saw a glint of fear in his eyes. I raised an eyebrow and motioned him forward. He ran toward me full force and I struck out with the heel of my hand, hitting him directly in the nose and sending him backward. Then I swung my foot as hard as I could into his nuts. He bent forward with a loud groan and collapsed on the floor in a lovely shade of red, breathing like he was in labor.
One of his eyes peeked open and he nodded slightly to me, as if to say that he was giving in. I smiled sweetly and turned back to the girls.
“The heel of your hand is your best bet. Thrust it up hard into his nose. You’ll break it, leaving him disoriented with blurry vision. Then, you take him down once more where it hurts most. Make that kick count. You don’t want him recovering too fast.”
Claire raised her hand high in the air.
“Yes?”
“How long is too fast?”
“He’ll definitely be down long enough for you to get away.”
“But, I mean, when will his functions recover? You know, his manly bits. Because I had this scenario I wanted to try later tonight and I want to know if I have to change my plans.”
“Change your plans,” Derek grunted. He stood slightly and shuffled off to the wall where he sank down in a tight ball.
“One more example before you all begin. Hunter? Would you care to join me?”
He narrowed his eyes at me and slowly shook his head.
“Hunter, don’t be such a baby,” Lucy shouted. “Come on. This is to help us out.”
Hunter shot a death look at his fiancée but stepped forward.
“Okay, Hunter is going to come at me from behind and wrap his arms around me in a bear hug.”
“No,” he said firmly.
“What’s wrong, Hunter? Are you scared of a woman?”
“Yes,” he said immediately.

Lola "Brave" Pruitt has dealt with more nightmares in her time at Reed Security than she can handle. It's time for her to move on and really start living her life without her demons tormenting her. When she finds another lost soul, Ryan Jackson, in a bar one night, she may just find her salvation. Strong Heroine!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💜💙💚💛
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 😟😣🙃🙂

The heroine: Lola Pruitt (a.k.a. Brave) - Lola is one of the few women that work for Reed Security on one of the Teams. She is out in the field with the guys and every bit as tough as them. Though she has demons. She was once nearly scalped by a serial killer and to this day she has nightmares about that.

The Hero(es): Ryan Jackson - Ryan has his own demons. His wife of one year died suddenly and he has been having trouble going on without her. He is raising her son and he frequently has flashbacks to when she was alive. It has been five years and he still hasn’t gotten over it.

The Story: Both Ryan and Lola use sex to get out of their own heads for a while. They see each other at a bar one night and each of them sees something they recognize in each other. They need each other and it is steamy right from the start.

I really liked Ryan even though it seemed a bit weird to me that he basically has PTSD from losing his wife in a car accident when he wasn’t even in the accident with her. Though he did see the pictures and her body in the morgue. He has both nightmares and flashbacks that are debilitating nearly as bad as Lola’s were and she was cut across the forehead by a serial killer who made her watch it in a mirror.

I liked these two people getting over their issues together and helping each other. I generally dislike stories where the Hero has a dead wife that he thought was “the one”, and I am not too fond of the “overcoming adversity” theme in books, because it seems like characters dwell in their issues for far too long. That happened here a bit, but I really liked these two and their relationship.

“Yes, this is me. Crazy Lola,” I said, waving my arms around in the air. “The once rational and stable woman that treated men as terribly as they treated women is now crying over a man. That’s what you guys do to us. You stick your magical dicks in us and turn us into batshit crazy women that cry over stupid shit. Look at me,” I shouted.

As I have come to expect from this author this book has so much going on that made you feel for all of the characters like they are you own friends.
Lola has gone through so much all through the books that it made me wonder when she was going to break and her finding Ryan and him being as broken as her made my heart hurt but the love Ryan has for James and still has for his Cassie girl.
Lola and Ryan and James deserve their HEA and I loved this book.

I didn't read for For The Love Of A Good Woman, but I think it would have been extremely beneficial to do so to know not only Ryan better but also the set up for the Reed Security Series. I have read all of the books in this series and I still sometimes feel as if I am missing out. That being said, this was still a fantastic book, I just wish I had the backstory by reading the other book first- so totally take the author's advice!

Ryan is still broken up after loosing his wife, Cassie, and it was heartbreaking but also amazing to see how dedicated he was to her. He is struggling and still broken, but then he meets Lola. She herself is struggling and seeing how these two help each other is absolutely beautiful- also SUPER intense. All in all it was great to read more about the two of them and see them work past issues- 4.5 outta 5 stars from me!

PS: I received an ARC of the book in return for my honest feedback!

This was a such a fitting story for Lola and Ryan. from the moment I received the book, until the last page, I couldn't put it down. Seeing Ryan's struggle to cope with Cassie's death, and still live a somewhat productive life for James was really touching and moved me to tears on more than one occasion. Reading about Lola's struggle as well was equally inspiring. In this book, you truly get to see the bond between Lola and the guys at Reed Security, and you get to see that it is more than just about people working together. with this book, I felt like they are definitely a family.

What if there were two people: broken, nearly destroyed by grief, regret, fear? What if those who loved them: family, friends, co-workers couldn't help despite aching to do so? How would these two people EVER heal?
This is the basis for 'LOLA'.
The main characters:
Ryan: Still crippled & nearly destroyed with grief at the sudden & shocking death of his beloved wife Cassie only 1 year after their marriage. The only saving grace is James, Cassie's son left in Ryan's care.
Lola: Haunted by a torturous death near miss during a mission, suffering years after with horrendous nightmares, unable to handle certain hand to hand combat situations required for her & her team mates safety without becoming paralyzed with terror & even catatonic.
Ryan stumbles through each day by the skin of his teeth & once a week finds a different nameless woman for sex in a desperate attempt to quiet the agony of his thoughts over the loss of his beloved wife.
And Lola, so traumatized by her horrifying experience is ordered by her boss-- Sebastian/Founder of Reed Security to not return to work until & unless she is medically cleared by a therapist or psychiatrist. And she wanders aimlessly, angry at her team mates that advised Sebastian she was a danger to herself & her co-workers, unable to find something to replace her work, no one to bond with now that Hunter is in a relationship, Lola is spiraling ever downward.
But then, one night Ryan & Lola hook up, initially for one night that turns into more & more nights as each one recognizes & understands the total depth of loss, fear & emptiness from which the other suffers.
This is emotionally (IMO) a beautiful story of two people, damaged & broken almost beyond repair, who come together initially in an attempt to survive & just MAY be able to heal each other. I loved both characters, Ryan was a wonderful example of a masculine but non-alpha male who had only wanted a family, home & love. Lola, tough & resilient ex-military & respected field member of Reed Security was a perfect example of a person who begins to realize that she is in a new phase of her life & that just may mean new wants & needs to be happy & fulfilled.
The other Reed Security & For the Love of A Good Woman characters make their supportive, serious & wacky appearances to assist their loved friends Ryan & Lola to navigate perilous & uncharted personal waters. James, Cassie's now 15 year old son, while still a kid has a lot of surprisingly wise perspective to offer a stepdad he loves & wants to be happy. Is extremely emotional (IMO) but in a way that is very positive & truly satisfying. The situations our main characters find themselves in range from steamy to tender to confusing to dangerous to downright hysterical. I spend the whole time I was reading the book with my fingers crossed for Ryan & Lola to have peace, fulfillment & a HEA.
I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting an emotional but positive & loving romance.
For those familiar with this series: ANOTHER HOME RUN!!

Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.

This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.

The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.

You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.

Spoilers ahead (beginning 3rd-4th paragraph or so).

From the first couple of books, I knew this was one that I wanted to read! However, since you cannot read them out of order without missing details, I sucked it up and suffered through the first seven books. Well, not all of them were bad. Three of them had five stars. This is the fourth one. But some of them, I'm talking to you Maggie and you Claire, were very painful to get through. I didn't like either of the characters. And Claire is just out there and ridiculous. I pray there are not people out there that are like her.

The dual names really gets old. I don't remember Chris ever being referred to as whiskey in his own book. I think when I looked it up, it was like 14 times... Only 14 times out of a 300+ page book? Sorry, not sorry, but I am not going to remember all these nicknames for each other when they aren't used consistently. The first couple books were better as they had a cast of characters list which included the main characters of the book and then the names of all the other people, even ones we didn't know yet. The third book had no list. And I totally had to revert to book number one list for reference on one of the dual names. Seriously. It was too much. And then book four and on so far have all included extra family members. So all of the couples were matched up for all future couples and past couples and all the children that they would have in the future. Why? I don't need those spoilers nor do I want them. I assumed that Burg ended up with Megan. But reading the cast of characters, I know that's not going to be the case. I also assumed in the last book Ice would end up with Lindsay. And reading the cast of characters, I know that's the case. I like to go into these books blind and just enjoy the story, where possible. Lol. But seeing as the first pages are the cast of characters and I know more than I should already, I'm not a fan. 😐

I like all of the characters overall, but I really didn't care for some of their individual stories (Sebastian/Maggie and Hunter/Claire). Knight and Sinner's stories have been my favorite and then Chris/whiskey was a surprisingly great read! Though some of that was from the whole gang getting together and teaming up and multiple perspectives. It pretty much had to be that way for it to be a good read. Anyway. I digress.

As I was saying, after reading the first couple books, I felt like Lola's story would be a really good one if done properly. And I do feel like it was done very well! From the snippets of information received on what she went through, we knew it was horrendous. And the healing road to recovery would be hard. And we saw where she had a breakdown in the field and was relieved of duty pending counseling and clearance by the counselor.

She didn't want to. She wasn't ready. But then she got ready. And she tried coming to work for training even though she couldn't be in the field. But that was hard too. And then in stepped Knight who wouldn't let her leave on that last day when she showed up and wanted to go. He pushed her to her limits and broke her a couple times and her teammates, Hunter and Derek, we're definitely not happy about the process and forcing her to face her fears because they saw how it impacted her.

Watching her healing process and how she was able to help the other ladies through it all and even Ryan was a beautiful story which provided hope.

As for Ryan, I enjoyed having him sprinkled in throughout the other books prior to being in his own book. He was heartbroken from losing his wife and never really got over her until Lola. So he really did some stupid things when it came to Lola and made me cringe. Ending things and pushing her away twice only for him to realize that she is what he needs and wants was a real bone-headed move.

And his road of healing was not an easy one either. He lost one love and gained a son, James. But he was fortunate enough to find a second love in Lola.

Ryan's tribute at the end Cassie was beautiful and all of the secondary characters were amazing in this book. Though Claire was still over the top and ridiculous as always.

And while I intended to stop at this book, I do think I will read Ice's story and see how it played out for him and Lindsay. And with the last book in this book being so good, I am hoping the next one will be equally as good. 🤞🏻

I do love the world of series and getting wrapped up in all the characters. This series has been a struggle though because of the ups and downs of absolutely not liking the main characters, but having the supporting characters really make the story work for me is different than any series I've ever read. I've never met a series where I didn't like the main characters in their own book until I came across this series. Lol I thoroughly enjoyed Hunter in this book, but not his own. I loved the way he interacted with Lola and how they cleared the air together.

Here is hoping Ice is just as good.

This story ties in to another series so you need to start by reading Ryan. You need to experience his story first – it’s where you get to understand his character. You may find that you need to catch up on not one but two series like I did. If you’re still on the fence, read the first paragraph and you’ll know I’m right.

Lola Pruitt feels so bad for Ryan. Then once you read his story you may also feel the same. She’s dealing with her own pain. Besides the story between our two main characters, we get caught up with the men of Reed Security.

Hunter is one of her coworkers and understands what Lola’s feeling. That had me wanting to revisit his story. When I was reading his story, I was concentrating on the main characters. This time I would put more emphasis on Lola. And that had me thinking about my reading order. So I came up with reading Knight, Hunter, Ryan, and then Lola. As you read this current book you may realize how the people that work for Reed Security interweave within the other stories. That’s so true when I’m reading about Sebastian and Maggie. Their current story caught my attention so I have to add two more stories to my ever-growing TBR list. First I’ll have to read his story aptly titled Sebastian, which so happens to be in the same series as Ryan, and then read the book titled Cap. I think I’m going to be busy for quite a while. And when it comes to our author, that’s no hardship. Especially when she can turn a very serious moment around to get me to laugh.

You see the caring and camaraderie these people have. Plus they know how to kick some serious a**. We have women who come to develop a friendship but they also keep their men on their toes. I loved how caring the men were toward Lola and I don’t think Lola realized how deep their feelings for her went. We see the point where Ryan’s life turns around and is thankful for what he has. The author creates the perfect ending for our main characters. My happy ending came when I saw that another book is coming out. My bad news moment came when I realized that my catching up is going to have to go to the back burner for a little while.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

What a great book! So far I have loved every book I have read by this author. What started out as a quick read on a Saturday has turned into devouring every book I can by her! Lola is a much anticipated novel for me. We meet her very early on in another series of hers and after watching her go through what she has, I can honestly say that I was happy for her to get her own book. I was not disappointed.

The plot of this book is nice. It was a good one for these two characters. Ryan is someone we have met before as well. If you have read the authors For the Love of a Good Woman series, then you know all about Ryan. These two characters have a lot of emotional and mental blockades to deal with. This book gave them the perfect chance to do it.

Lola is a strong character. She was always strong, but I feel like her strength was tested in such a big way. She has really struggled with life since some events, but I feel she came out the other side better and stronger. Ryan. Oh my sweet Ryan. My heart is his. He is such a sweet man who has had to deal with something I hope to never have to experience myself. I loved getting to see where life has taken him.

The heat in this book is perfect for this book. These two characters are delicate and I feel the heat in this book reflects that. The characters themselves were written beautifully. I loved their interactions with each other. Their chemistry was different, but perfect for this book.

The writing style of this book is good. The pace of the book is steady. The story is told from a dual point of view. I really liked that we were able to see from some past characters. Lola was someone I was really excited to get to know more about. The author wrote her story in a way that I felt satisfied once it was over.

Overall, this is a wonderful story. I really enjoyed everything about it. There isn't a negative thing I can find to say about it. I have enjoyed every book in this series and cannot wait to see what the author does next.

‘Lola’ provides a beautiful finish to storylines started in the ‘For The Love Of A Good Woman’ series. Lola and Ryan are both suffering at the hand of previous trauma in this book, and if you’ve read the forementioned series then you know exactly what that is. If not, then you could still read ‘Lola’ as their trauma is explained but in reading the ‘For The Love Of A Good Woman’ series you will have a greater understanding of what they both have gone through.

Lola and Ryan’s relationship starts as a one-night meeting of two broken souls though through more time spent together they start to heal and live rather than just exist. Their story moves at a slower pace than Reed Security books tend to but it provides an accurate reflection of the journey that they are on to move on from their profound anguish and how in Lola’s case she starts to experience a lifestyle she’s never had before. Together they make for a really likable couple that build one another up and find the happy ending that you’ve been wishing they would get.

The appearances of secondary characters were amazing in this book. We see more from the cast of ‘For The Love Of A Good Woman’ series as they are Ryan’s friends and it was great to see them again and to see another hilarious paintballing fiasco. As always, the Reed Security cast brought some truly hilarious scenes, reading about this group of men realising they don’t actually give relationship advice in situations when it’s called for and trying to navigate how to make Lola feel better was my favourite part of the book. However, the secondary characters don’t just provide comedic relief they are also there for some of the more difficult scenes such as Knight helping Lola overcome her trauma, Ryan’s friends helping him navigate parenting a teenage son whilst he struggles, giving strong relationship advice that also helps realise the trauma that one of the MCs in still dealing with and being an all-round constant source of support.

I did enjoy this book and Giulia gives these characters an ending they deserve after all they have been through.

This was such a angst, passion, action filled story! I've been anticipating Lola's story since reading Hunter and trying to understand the way she is. Phew, I never imagined all she's gone through and she had to use different ways to ease some of her agony and demons and one of the ways was having a sexual relationship with Hunter. Well, that changed the moment Hunter met his woman and now that plus her job at Reed Security telling her to take a break (for her own good too), she's angry and feels lost but not for long.

When Lola and Ryan hook up the first time, they thought it would only be for one night. But as these two broken souls meet more and more, their feelings start to change and both are scared of that because Lola has been through so much and Ryan is somehow still in love with his wife (who died after a year together, leaving her son to him) and has to come to the realization that you can love again. These two have to go through obstacles both outer and internal to be able to confront and accept their feelings for one another and with the a little help from their friends and Cassie's son, James, these two get their head out of their butts and claim one another, for good this time.

I was super happy that Ryan finally got his happily ever after because truth be told, I was bawling my eyes out when I read his story. Now, Ryan, James, Lola and the future family they may have ;) includes also the memory of Cassie because Lola is such a mature and strong woman that she accepts that Cassie will always own a piece of Ryan but that doesn't mean Ryan loves her less at all; it just means his heart is big enough for both of them plus James too :)

This was truly a wonderful read by this amazing author, Giulia Lagomarsino and I'm already anticipating and super excited for her next story! :)

I am not going to lie, I was very leery of reading this book. I knew that reading this story was going to be painful, and I was right. I didn’t expect Ryan’s story to end the way that it did in RYAN (BTW, you HAVE to read this story first … otherwise you will not understand the true impact of LOLA). So I wasn’t sure how the author was going to tell his story further, but she did something that I haven’t read before and she did is fabulously!

In this book Ryan crosses path with Lola Pruitt. Lola is very much like Ryan, except her nightmares dealt with evil and what was done to her. Her character showed such amazing strength and drive to overcome her fears. And I was SHOCKED by who she choose to help her with them. But in the end, Lola showed why the men of Reed Security should fear her and just show strong her heart is.

Ryan broke my heart. From the beginning to how he has shown up through the other books, his pain has been tremendous and all consuming. What he finds with Lola is a small light to his darkness. But there are always issues and some bad calls that are made between these two. But Ryan shows a strength that is tremendous!

Overall, this was a very emotional, but amazing read. Again, RYAN has got to be read first! These characters tore at my heart and then pieced it back together. There is still a lot of pain in this book on both sides, but the way that they worked together and the ease of them and how in sync they were was awesome. And my favorite part had to be the reenactment scene towards the end. Had me laughing hard after the emotional turmoil of the book.

This story is a gripping tale of angst, passion, and action. Lola's journey is compelling as she navigates her pain and demons. Her relationship with Hunter takes a turn when her teammates question her ability she takes a break from Reed Security.

Initially, Lola and Ryan's hook-up is meant to be a one-night affair. However, as they spend more time together, their feelings deepen, forcing them to confront their pasts and acknowledge their growing emotions for each other.

The story delves into the shared pain and struggles of both characters, highlighting their commonalities in dealing with their past traumas. Despite their differences, they find understanding in each other's coping mechanisms.

Lola's journey of healing and the support she receives from Ryan are heartwarming, showcasing the fiery chemistry between the couple. While Ryan's character evokes mixed feelings, his tragic past and struggles with grief are portrayed realistically, though his actions raise questions about seeking help.

James, Ryan's son, plays a significant role in the story, displaying maturity beyond his years and forming a special bond with Lola. Their interactions are touching and add depth to the narrative. The story focuses on themes of family healing, overcoming demons, second chances, love, friendship, and sacrifice in the name of love.

Amidst the Reed Security missions, unexpected twists and humorous moments provide a light-hearted touch to the narrative. Lola's journey towards a happy ending is a poignant and emotional ride, leaving readers with a sense of fulfillment and hope.

I received an advanced copy for my honest review.
Wow! Wow! Wow! This book had me hooked! I was mesmerized by every aspect.
Lola and her struggles both emotionally and physically were so profound to read about here. Previous books gave insight but this book really showed all her demons in Technicolor. The reader can really understand and almost feel exactly what she went through. I was so engaged in how she dealt with it all. And while we caught glimpses into her struggles and even her actual experience (via Cole book) this story truly delves into the darkness she feels in it all.
Ryan has such a tragic history from his own book that I was definitely thrilled to see him cut loose at moments throughout this book. I also enjoyed seeing him live again through this new-found relationship.
As any true live story it is fraught with drama and hardship too. I cried at several parts (Every time he says "Cassie girl" I felt the stinging of tears). I loved the evolution of their relationship and how they both were finding, not only love in each other but also peace in their own hearts.
I also truly enjoyed how James was throughout the book. He has become a great man and has gained great perspective from his own experiences as well as from watch the adults in his life. And he also added moments of humor to the story that helped lighten things at times too.
Overall, the great winner of a story that I have come to expect and rely on this author to provide.

I have loved the whole Reed Security series and have yet to be disappointed in any of the books!!

Lola is the 8th book in this series and is absolutely AMAZING!!! First remember that this is the conclusion to Ryan's story so you need to read his story first!! I highly recommend the reading the whole series in order as the backstory really helps you understand all the characters!!

I think Lola may be my favorite book as I live a woman who kicks ass and with the nickname Brave you know she's anything but docile!! After the emotional tears from Ryan's book you are left hoping that somehow they would have their perfect HEA!! Both Ryan and Lola have demons and are lost!! They aren't really living just existing and when they meet in a bar they are just looking for a one night stand something that will make them feel anything just for one night!! Famous last words one night becomes two nights and soon their arr alot of nights as they find they can help eachother fight their demons!!
This book and the situations that the characters find themselves in has it all. Ryan and Lola are hot together!! It is steamy, confusing, tender, dangerous, heartbreaking and I found myself having some LOL moments as they are hysterically funny!! The moral at the end is true love can conquer all no matter how damged you are, even after everything you have lost you still deserve to be happy!! I highly regret this book and the the whole Reed Security Series you will not be disappointed!!

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for a honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. Lola is a story of Lola and Ryan a couple that find solace in one another. They are both damaged by past events making them both believe that they are incapable of a relationship. Funny thing about love is that it sneaks up on you at the most inopportune time.

Lola's team at Reed Security help her through tough times as she finds her way back to her old self making these characters even more endearing. Ryan's friends from The Love of a Good Woman series are all there helping him not only with advice about his relationships but helping him with parenting his teenage son as well.

I think it's great that in each book we get to continue seeing characters we love grow into amazing partners to their leading ladies, friends to one another, and fathers to their children.

First of all, I need to start this review out by saying that YOU MUST READ RYAN FIRST! There's no ands/ifs/or buts about it before you start Lola. And no, I'm not going to tell you why. In fact, I'm going to try not to say too much at all in this review to be honest, as I'm STILL NOT OVER Ryan! All I will say is that Lola has some serious past baggage which is making her not herself. And Ryan is barely a shell of himself, and when they come across each other in a bar, they hook up. And while that hook is HOT, there's something else that happens as well. Somehow, they silence each other's demons. So they gravitate towards each other more & more, but it's still very complicated. And complicated means drama & angst, which this story has tons of. However, there's a cast of secondaries that really makes for some serious hysterically funny interactions that had me rolling in laughter, especially some teaching moments for James. Of course it wouldn't be a brilliant Giulia Lagomarsino story if there weren't some f-bomb dropping worthy twists, so yep, it ticked off all of my boxes once again, though I'm STILL MAD at her albeit a bit less now. So at the end of the day, I'm HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this story that put my heart back together again!

Both Lola and Ryan are both deeply traumatized but can they help each other to heal.
A story of two deeply traumatized people who find relief in the company of the other but will it be enough for them to go forward. Five years ago Ryan lost his wife to a traffic accident leaving him as a single parent caring for her ten year old son and dreaming of the crash that killed her. Lola works for Reed Security and was captured with their client by the madman they were protecting her from. He taped her to a chair made her hold a mirror so she could watch as he did what he had told them he planned to do which was cut along the line he had drawn on her forehead. peel back the shin then open her skull to see what was in it. Her nightmare and flash back meant she was unable to deal with active job and was relegated administration and training. The story follows their efforts to overcome their past and live a normal life. Not an easy task and with many setbacks that they must struggle through. An unusual romance to relax and enjoy.

I am a zombie hear me sghfghkbzuhtgkhgkjrt. OMG!! As I suspected would happen, I couldn't put Lola down and I loved it!!!!!!. It was perfect!!!!! A much-needed read after the intense rollercoaster emotions of Whiskey... sure this one was a rollercoaster too but with happy tears, less nail-biting and a sore throat from laughing so much. Been waiting on a HEA for Ryan and as much as i loved Cassie, his story with Lola just fits. Drew's book was great and a cried hearing about him loosing his wife but I find it's very different hearing about the past and having been there for Ryan and Cassie's love story and seeing him stuggle to move on and the bumps along the way and getting to experience it right along with him when he finally does. I think Cassie would definately have loved Lola just as much as James did, that kid is awesome!!! And I loved the side of Lola Ryan and James brought out in her. This has already been added to my read and re-read and re-read again folder in my books. Can't wait to see what comes next.

After reading Ryan’s story in the For the Love of a Good Woman, I was gutted. I couldn’t believe that the one man in this series who was a good man had gotten such a bad ending. How even the jerks in that series had gotten their happily ever after and meanwhile, Ryan was left to suffer in such a horrid manner when he lost Cassie after a year. I legit hated the author for making me go through that, for making me sob my eyes out at the heartbreak that Ryan was going through.

Insert the Reed Security series and from the moment I met Lola I knew I wanted her to have a happy ending after all she’d been through. I never for a moment believed that Lola and Ryan two obviously damaged beyond repair individuals could find a connection within each other would be the spark that would finally allow both their broken hearts to heal. Lola may just be my favorite installment in this series because through their ups and downs, they made it. They got their happily ever after and it was everything and more that I could have wished for these characters that I’d fallen in love with to have.

Title: Lola (Reed Security, #8)
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

ARC received in return for an honest review.

Those who are familiar with the previous books in the series will be aware of exactly what Lola has been through and it wasn’t a matter of if she broke but rather when, she ends up meeting up with Ryan who she’s vaguely familiar with through her boss Cap, he’s friends with Ryan. Ryan’s equally as broken as Lola and what starts out as a purely sexual relationship between these two broken people soon becomes so much more when they both find themselves healing one another.

I was beyond excited to learn that Ryan would be Lola’s love interest in her book, yes I know this was her book and she’s all badass and stuff but c’mon it’s Ryan we’re talking about here. I’m so glad these two got their HEA. Also I have to mention James, Ryan’s son, he was also a key character in this book as well as all usual familiar faces who play a part in making this series one of the best there is out there.

4.5 star

The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, murder, grief, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Sinner (A Reed Security, #1)
Cap (A Reed Security, #2)
Cazzo (Reed Security, #3)
Knight (Reed Security, #4)
Irish (Reed Security, #5)
Hunter (Reed Security #6)
Whiskey (Reed Security #7)

This is Lola and Ryan’s story. Lola still has nightmares of a mission gone wrong. She is trying to move forward but she has certain triggers. Now those triggers have affected her work. One night out at a bar she goes home with Ryan. Ryan knows people she works with, but they are not friends. Ryan is also dealing with demons of his past. He lost his wife and still to this day struggles with certain situations. The chemistry between these two pulls them together. But will her job and the danger she deals with rip them apart?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Is it possible to heal when you have been totally broken? The eighth book in the Reed Security Series chronicles the story of Ryan and Lola. Ryan is grieving the loss of his wife. The one thing tethering him is the son that Cassie left in his care. In order to deal with his loss, Ryan uses sex with faceless women to quiet the noise in his head. Lola is a military woman who works for Reed Security. She is tortured by a near death experience during a mission that has left her with nightmares that affect her ability to do her job. Sebastian orders Lola to see a therapist and not return to work until medically cleared. This leaves her wandering aimlessly around as she looks for something to replace the void that her job has left. One night at a bar, Ryan casually hooks up with Lola but that one-night turns into many more as each one recognizes the pain in the other. This is one hard roller coaster of an emotional read. Ryan and Lola are perfect for each other. I highly recommend this book. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

Ryan has suffered a devastating loss and the only reason that he can find the strength to go on is his son James. He has closed his heart off to love and when it comes to women all he wants is a physical release.

Lola is still dealing with the aftereffect of a mission that went sideways which places both her and the Reed Security team in danger. She has been placed on leave until a doctor confirms that she is mentally fit to return to work.

What starts out as a one night stand for both of them to forget their demons for a little while evolves into more but is it enough to help them heal each other?

I loved these two together. They are both damaged by the past and after the pain and heartbreak that they have been dealt they deserve to be happy. This is an emotional story about healing and new beginnings. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

Lola has appeared in all the other Reed security series but not as much as the other characters and I always thought of her being cold and wasn't to sure about having a book about her, but Giulia Lagomarsino has really bought her to life in this story and it's just like all the other books..... Fantastic.
Lola never gets close to anyone and likes to have plenty of no strings sex, which was fine until it wouldn't stop the nightmares of her ordeal coming back, that is until she meets her soul mate. I'm not giving any of the story away as you really need to read it, but if you've read the other books in this series and 'love of a good woman' series then your in for a big surprise and it's brilliant. By the end of the book I was seeing her in a totally different light and really warmed to her. She really has a good story in this book and it's a page turner, I couldn't put it down as I didn't want to wait to see what happened next....

Lola and Ryan

This is an emotionally draining story with plenty of humor to temper it.

Lola hasn't recovered from her devastating capture and torture at the hands of a serial killer. While she felt she was fine on the job not everyone agreed. Would she have to give up her life and family at Reed Security?

Ryan lost his wife almost 5 years ago yet, he was still devastated with nightmares and her loss. Only his teenage stepson kept him going. Until Lola. He usually used a woman for a short time then forgot her. He couldn't seem to forget this one. She managed to calm him.

Lola felt similar things with Ryan. Could they possibly change their lives with the help of the other?

The relationships of the two with Reed Security has them fighting, loving, even living again. There is still plenty of pain ahead but there are also splashes of light and hope.

What began for me as so horrifying I didn't know if I could read it became one of my favorite stories.

Total Awesome

Amazing Ryan and Lola's love story and their connection. Ryan's loss of his wife really affected him for five year. Was a loss soul till destiny introduced him to Lola. This book had everything. It was so funny it really make me laugh. The guys what the would do for the women they love. The closeness of family and friends always being their for each other even when they bunched each other. The emotions love pain sorrow loss joy happiness etc. The adventures and the unknown kept me reading. Ryan's love for James the bond they shared. Lola going through her demons, being with Ryan realized she can be both a bad ass security and a girl.
Happy Ryan found true love twice in a lifetime that is so rare and special should be cherished. Love this series every story is different and amazing. Thank you Giulia for sharing you talent. Looking forward to Ice's adventure.

You really need Ryan’s story first, which lets you know why he’s so heartbroken, the only way he can forget is with woman but never the same one twice until Lola.
Lola is tired of being treated as damaged and Ryan is the only one who makes her feel since she pushed away her friend.
The chemistry is amazing between them and they keep spending more and more time together, Ryan start to realise with Lola he wants to try but he doesn’t know how he will deal with Lola working in the field.
Lola starts to realise that she needed to sort out her own mess and learns she has to believe in herself again, and with Ryan she can let her guard down and it’s ok to be the woman who needs the man.
Ryan and Lola have been through much they both deserved their happy ending. Can’t wait to read the next book.

FINALLY, we get Lola's story! Yay! I have been truly wanting to know more about her for a while! I m very happy she has returned to Reed Security during Whiskey! Who are Ryan and Cassie? What do we learn about them? Who is Logan? I really enjoy when books and groups overlap from one series to another! What nickname do they call Lola and why? How does she feel about it? What does Jake ask of Ryan? Oh lord..... Two teams, paintball, asthma.... enough said... Oh, Emmm, Geeee!! The loser dare/bet was a hoot! Another asthma inducing round of laughter! Oh heaven help us, tissues are needed as well. My heart broke. This book's ending totally surprised me!

Ryan’s story began in the For the Love of a Good Woman series. I haven’t read that book but this one is a massive spoiler for that one (I don’t mind but others might-the author suggests reading that series prior to Reed Security). So Ryan is trapped in grief and struggling to survive. Enter Lola, who needs clearance to return to active duty following a traumatic event. Two people who need each other for distraction turns into a long journey of healing. There was a lot of love, support, and compassion in this story, which brought me to tears a couple of times. I enjoyed Ryan’s stepson James, and the talks the Reed Security crew tried to give him. Lots of feels in this story, and finding strength through emotional vulnerability.

I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
