Paranormal Women’s Fiction from #1 Amazon Bestseller, J.R. Rain, and New York Times Bestseller, H.P. Mallory!

A Haven Hollow Novel

After spending a couple of months in the quaint town of Haven Hollow, Oregon, I’m settling in and things are looking up.

My shop, Poppy’s Potions, is successful, I’ve got a best friend in ghost-hunter, Marty Zach and I’m dating the local Sasquatch, Roy Osbourne. My eleven year old son, Finn, is doing well in school and everything seems to be blue skies and golden sunshine.

Until my resident ghost, Darla, shatters a vial of Mystic Veil, a powerful potion that opens the door to the Astral Plane, inviting a migratory ghost, the Todhchaí, into Haven Hollow.

It’s not soon after that two centaur girls go missing, followed by a werewolf boy. And by missing, I mean it’s as if the air simply swallowed them, because there’s no trace of the children anywhere.

That’s when Fox Aspen, monster hunter, appears in Haven Hollow. With the story that he’s meant to apprehend the Todhchaí, Fox introduces me to the world of the fae and some very unsavory characters.

Meanwhile, the local monster council won’t do anything about the missing children, so I take matters into my own hands, never imagining how personal this case is about to become…

I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention.

My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I’m extremely fortunate to have been able to live in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

Thanks for checking out my books and I hope you enjoy them! Happy Haunting!

This is the second book in the Poppy's Potions series. I had a hard time getting into it at first. Maybe it would have been easier if I had reread the first book again. I wasn't liking Roy as much as I remembered liking him in the first book. In fact, him and Poppy together were kind of making me angry. However, as I read on I got more invested in the story, and loving (most) of the characters again. I loved the plot, and by the end of the book I was very hapyy in this world. I am excited to read the next installment! (I still don't like Roy anymore, though.)

4 The Supernatural Equivalent Of Playing Chicken With A Semi-Truck Stars

Faerie Enchantment is the second book in the Poppy's Potions series by J. R. Rain and H. P. Mallory. (Book 3 Haven Hollow)

Yay! I absolutely live for fae stories. I especially love when authors comingle fae magical beings with other supernatural and Paranormal species and creatures to create a truly magical and mystical world. This book series is honestly starting to tick all of my boxes. I'm still a little peeved at how terribly short each book is. The flow of the story is a little rushed feeling, to me. It only highlights what we don't know by the time each book finishes.

I wonder if there's still a chance for Marty with Poppy's heart...? I truly think it's possible Marty has a better match: i.e. Seraphina with her trouble in love given that he's a null and unaffected by the magical allure her Succubus nature exudes. I'm honestly hoping for their eventual match up. I think it would be refreshing for our heroine not to waffle on her friend decision towards him, and work to make things with Roy last.

Ophelia assuredly cannot be the leader of the Council any longer. Her predisposition to discount every human makes this Haven less safe for every magical being within its borders. She should be working to harbor inclusivity, but I guess bright and positive goals such as this are outside a nightmare hags domain.

Now that we've met Tally aka Olwen, the lost and rightful heir to the Winter Faerie kingdom, and she is taking over the Police Chief role while her adoptive brother heals.... I'm hoping there is room for positive change within the management of humans and magical relations? I do worry that once Cain comes out of his stupor from Fox Aspen's magical compulsion to forget the hag in all her horror, there will be trouble to come! Especially for all that were in the room when this situation occurred...

Janara, Wren, and Rime aren't even properly taken care of... They're just being temporarily held at bay for now. And with Tally in town, someone needs to be break the news to this girl about her true nature or she won't survive the fallout..

Poppy and the gang are back and settling into life at Haven Hollow. Poppy's shop is doing well and she is dating a hot Sasquatch . But when magical children start to go missing and a mysterious man appears, Fox Aspen a monster hunter . Poppy takes matters into her own hands and learns all she can about the fairy realm and the unsavory characters that live there . Will she be able to save the children including her son when no one else wants to help.
This is the second book in the series and we get to Poppy work her magic yet again . She is living her life to the best she can . She is actually is growing in her gypsy magic and she is getting stronger . She is having some issues with the men in her life. Wanda is also on her mind and she is worried about so much . When push comes to shove she comes out swinging and will do whatever it takes to fight for those she loves . We also get to meet her two crazy uncles and a brand new guy Fox who is one of those mysterious characters . You don't know if you should like him or not. The rest of the gang is back and you will love them all .
This is the second book in the series is such a fun read . The authors have such a fun way of putting the characters into such interesting situations . I am loving the characters with each story they are becoming more complex and we get to see them go through so much . I truly love the writing styles of these two authors they have a way of making you fall in love with them . I got sucked in by the end of chapter one and couldn't put it down . So if you want a fun read that will have you laughing through out . Check out this series i suggest you start out with the first book and then dive into this one . You won't be disappointed .

Missing children and an unexpected magical alliance

This is the second book in the Poppy’s Potions series. It’s another really enjoyable collaboration between HP Mallory and JR Rain. The book falls in the Paranormal Women’s Fiction genre and although there’s a little romance, there are no adult scenes and romance is not the main focus of this book.

We find ourselves back in Haven’s Hollow, USA following the increasingly complex and magical life of Poppy, a 40-something year old human descendant of Scottish Travellers. Poppy is just settling into small town life with her new boyfriend when a series of mysterious events turns her life upside down. Children are going missing and Poppy must join forces with the town’s resident witch, a traditional adversary of gypsies and travellers, to try and find them.

HP Mallory and JR Rain write well together, which makes for a smooth flowing story which is interesting and easy to become immersed in. The characters are developing well and Poppy is very down to earth and relatable. There is a fairly large cast of characters which cross over between this series and the Wanda’s Witchery series, which run parallel to each other, set in the same town. If you haven’t already read Gypsy Magic (Poppy’s Potions, Book One) and Cashmere Curses (Wanda’s Witchery, Book One), then I’d recommend reading both those books first.

I read this book in one sitting and really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the next books in both series.

Faerie Enchantment is book 2 in the Poppy’s Potions series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. Poppy has been in Haven Hollow for a few months and she and her son Finn are settling in nicely. Poppy’s potion shop is successful and gaining additional clientele every day. Poppy and her boyfriend, Roy, are doing well and she is making friends with others. Life is good until Darla, Poppy’s ghost roommate, accidentally shatters a potion that allows a migratory ghost into town. Shortly afterwards, supernatural children disappear. The supernatural crew must figure out who the migratory ghost is, where the children are, and if the events are related.

Poppy is a fun character and her love and devotion for her son is heartwarming. Poppy is now aware of the supernatural residents of Haven Hollow, including the new witch in town that could pose a problem for Poppy in the future. The town of Haven Hollow is mysterious and full of interesting characters. The migratory ghost and kidnapping of children become personal for Poppy and when the supernatural council refuses to search for the kids, Poppy does what any loving mother would – takes matters into her own hands.

Faerie Enchantment is a wonderful second book in the Poppy’s Potions series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

Poppy overhears a conversation that Roy was having about missing children. Poppy is not happy that he agreed not to tell her. Poppy is still unsettled from a earlier conversation with him. Poppy decides to give him time to tell her. Poppy confronts Roy about the children, he gets angry with her. Poppy has a new customer that has come in the store, he seems to think she can help him. Things get out of control when a council member comes in. Poppy and Marty decide to take matters into their own hands, which could make matters worse. Poppy is also trying to figure out if Marty has feelings for her. Poppy's world will be turned upside down, everyone must work together to everyone back.

This was a really good book to read. This story will draw you in and you will not stop reading until you are done. The authors put you on a rollercoaster ride with everything that happens. I am really hoping to see Marty and Poppy together in this series. Can't wait for next book in series.

I don’t know on this one

It seems to have skipped a huge chunk of time. Poppy and Roy are dating, have been dating long enough to get to the sleep over stage (with Poppy’s 11 year old son around no less). But we never even saw them have date one. Also I have one idea why she’d be with Roy and not Marty as she’s constantly thinking about Marty, not Roy. I’ve read both previous books and am lost. Also I’m finding Poppy both irrational and illogical. I’m not really sure what she thinks the police would be able to do that the supernatural community couldn’t? At best they think she’s crazy. At worst she’s put them in danger from something that they have no chance of dealing with. Of course in the end she bumbles her way into saving the day. I really liked the first book, ended up liking the second by the end. But this one I’m really not liking as much. It was also full of typos.

Poppy and all her crazy friends and neighbors are back again. This time children are missing and it is to close to home. I got a bit aggravated with Roy in this book. I think his and Poppy's relationship is starting to see cracks. I was worried about them making to the end of the book. I hope they can get everything back on track. Back to the story. Poppy seems to be worried and the ones in charge seem to think they have things handled. Poppy starts looking for things on her own and we met Mr. Fox. I liked him. Even with his antics. We also have the help of her two uncles. The added a little extra excitement. When We get to the all in moments we find Wanda is coming in and helping more then we would think. What a friendship that would make. This book was a great one and moved fast.

Finally settling into to a great groove in Hollow. You just know something was going to happen, but nothing , nobody would have thought of this!!! First two lil centaur girls disappear , then a young werewolf boy poof. Of course the monster concil will not get off their duff's. So then then most horrible thing could ever happen does. Now Poppy w/her woman power plus gypsy magic. Her awesome squashyness man Roy the pest of a poltigest Darla are taken things into their own hands. Finding out what is happening & bringing it to a end no matter how or what they need to go there. Hp truly has a great trip on her characters . Knows them inside and out can't wait for the next book in this series.

Adventure, romance and magic

I really enjoyed this one. I enjoyed that the MC is questioning her latest relationship a bit and not just diving head first into a forever-love when she has known the man five minutes. I'm not sure where Roy and Poppy are going to go, or how Marty is involved but I like that it isn't as simple as love-at-first-lust.
I LOVE Wanda and I'm enjoying seeing her relationship with Poppy from the other side as it progresses.
We are beginning to discover that gypsy magic has its place and purpose in these stories and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

What happened to the relationships?

When reading this series, you need to make sure you read the companion series about Wanda. It will clear up a lot of unknown references that come up in this book.
I liked the plot about the kids and the faeries, but the relationships between all the characters kinda seemed shredded. It was a relationship mess. I hope things get back on track in the next book.
I did enjoy the overall read.

Another amazing adventure in the Hallow! These monsters have sucked me in and have completely captivated me!

I love that Poppy isn't your normal heroine.. she's a single gypsy mom in her 40's... She's incredible and relatable, if you can get past all the monsters she has in her inner circle. I love the stories that have been coming from Mallory and Rain! They have a fresh feeling to them which makes them super fast reads!

I can't wait to see what comes next from these two!

A truly outstanding book!!!

What happens when a witch and a gypsy meet? Sparks fly! Wanda doesn't want a gypsy in what, she hopes, will be her town. But Wanda is softening. When Poppy's son is kidnapped, along with two centaur girls and a half werewolf boy, Wanda jumps in to help rescue them. With the help of a Faej Prince, they will do their best to save the 4 kids and protect a Fairy Queen in hiding. Very exciting action. Highly recommended.

I love the idea of a town, or hollow, where many supernatural beings exist and predominate. Poppy is a relative newcomer and is learning her way. When her son is kidnapped, she will enlist the help of anyone willing. Alliances are formed and enemies are made. Poppy questions herself a lot and her decisions. Trust seems to be an issue with her and will likely cause problems in the future.

Haven Hollow has paranormal children missing....Poppy wants to go to the human police but the paranormals put a nix to that...
How are they going to find the kids?

A ghost blows through Poppy's house, which means it's a powerful migrant. Children go missing from Haven Hollow without a trace. And mysterious strangers show up in town. Poppy, Wanda, and their friends must team up to find the children and figure out what the strangers are up to. Not to mention the ghost ... .

Too Convoluted to be Entertaining

I do like the Poppy books, it’s got an interesting array of characters, a town full of supernaturals with light and entertaining stories but this one was way too convoluted, inconsistent and lacking in character depth. It felt like authors just churning out something to meet a deadline.

Another pageturner

Yes, those pages turned themselves! It’s actually a refreshing book, I loved it! I saw a review from someone else saying this book can be read as a standalone, but I think you’d enjoy it more read in order. Poppy 1, then Wanda 1, then this book. Why miss out? Can’t wait to continue!

Interesting and Smoothly Written

Poppy’s story just keeps getting more interesting as she settles further into her new town, and as her friendships continue to develop. I really enjoy the natural unfolding of the story, and the way nothing is obvious, but everything just makes sense as it happens.

Faerie Enchantment: Book 3

Enjoyed getting reacquainted with all the magical creatures: Wanda, Hellcat, vampire Locan, Roy, Marty, Poppy, Finn and his uncles. Especially the fae!
Since everyone has different types of magic, it took everyone to work together to save the stolen children. Very warm and supporting friends.

Wild Witchery!

This is a rare walk on the wild side in a chilling Christmas setting. Poppy and friends attempt to find missing children who simply dissappeared in an instant. That was bad enough. Then the kidnappers took Finn. Poppy makes a mean grizzly momma look tame whem she gets going. A fun read.

Good writing, interesting characters, just confusing at times with so many things going. Maybe I took too long to read between the 1st Poppy or maybe being the 3rd Haven makes me confused. But it was good just not excellent. Good story telling. Finding more about Faes. So the combo of fairies and witches is a good thing.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. The characters were engaging and the story held my interest. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is #2 in the Poppy's Potions series. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
