Reparation of Sin

Rate this book
My husband hates me. But he’s also the only man who can save me.

Taken by a stranger, Santiago is my only hope. Except that I don’t know if he’s dead or alive.

And for as cruel as he can be, the thought he might be gone is unbearable.

But he has nine lives, my monster.

He’s not finished with me yet. And soon I’m back at The Manor. Locked in my room. At his mercy.

I know I am despised.

I know I have become the face of his vengeance.

But there’s something else too. Something between us. It’s a dark and gnarled thing. And it has its claws around my heart.

I need book 3 NOW!!! Natasha Knight and  A. Zavarelli, why do you do this to me?! I have so much anxiety!! Thank God the next installment comes out in May, because I don't know if I could wait much longer!

ghuu

In Reparation of Sin, we see the immediate fall out from the events that happened at the end of Requiem of the Soul. We finally start to get more of a definite sense of who is responsible, but of course, the guilty aren't finished yet. Everything comes to a head in a heart-stopping cliffhanger that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

The emotions in this book are intense and powerful! It's like a rollercoaster of pain, passion, and psychosis! You will FEEL this book. That I can guarantee!

tumblr_pl6ykc3uC41ut1d6co1_500

Both Santiago and Ivy's suffering is palpable. I wanted to fucking kill the people responsible for it, and sometimes, that included Santiago himself. It was hard to witness him torture Ivy time and time again for something she isn't even remotely responsible for.

tumblr_ms671y6jy71s9kboko1_500

Santiago succumbing to his own demons is almost as painful to watch. He feels more betrayed, broken, torn, and determined now than he ever was. He doesn't know what to believe, but he most often chooses the path that will leave him less vulnerable.

1528066388_tumblr_nrsiam4Wsd1utzq8lo1_500

Between Santiago's unraveling and Ivy's helplessness, I just wanted to climb inside the pages and hug them both. There are scenes between them in this book that are incredibly raw, disturbing, and downright brutal with a whole kaleidoscope of torture on full display. Prepare yourself for heart aching, stomach clenching, emotion that clogs your throat and threatens your tear ducts.

tumblr_67b52b9a4a0799132cdfb27213d8b887_ce2c381b_400

Reparation of Sin is deliciously dark, gripping, steamy, violent, and full of suspense! Santiago and Ivy's relationship is twisted and toxic. There is so much hate between them that when the love slips through, they don't know how to handle it. Instead, they continue on on a merry-go-round of self-sabotage.

Before I conclude this review, I have to applaud the authors for how expertly they've crafted this story and these characters. This could have easily turned into a mediocre romance between a domineering, barely redeemable asshole and a weak af heroine whose body betrays her, but there are so many more layers to these two! I've thoroughly enjoyed pulling back each and every one, and I can't wait to see what this duo has in store for their grand finale.

This Engrossing tale progresses forward with promises of volatile emotions clashing with intense passion & I'm thoroughly invested. By herself Zavarelli has me bowing at her dark altar, but now her teaming up with Knight has pushed the envelope far down towards the dark caverns of twisted reads.
It's double the goosebumps generating adventure, Double the adrenaline pumping thrill.
The series is stepping down in the rabbit hole, taking the readers with it. The story gets gloomier, the mood darker and sins multiplying fast. Knight and Zav are holding nothing back. Be it passion or vengeance, they make characters cross the line to the edge of the moral cliff in this alternate universe run by Mafia autocratically.

“There is the law and there is our law.”
“The Society’s law.”

description

In this book, a Ivy tries to open the door of Santiago's heart, but all she encounters is more bitterness, more questions, more mysteries. Nobody is talking to her, she gets no answers and it's frustrating the hell out of her. She is the proverbial princess trapped in the highest tower of the strongest castle of marriage, where she has to await the saviour. Stumbling through life everyday, slamming into walls and closed doors, Santiago's blow-hot-blow-cold personality is no help either. But her inner sassy self refuses to kneel or bow.

"A broken man whose anger has controlled his life for far too long. You have so much anger inside you, it's poisoning you."

Santiago's personality unfolds some more, he does manage to show some human facets but at the core he remains cold-blooded & unfeeling villainous hero. His depraved intent clear, his toxic mission unwavering.

description

"My wife will die by my hand. As sure as the sun will rise, I will spit on her grave once I've wrung every last ounce of life from her body. She thinks she has known suffering, but she has never experienced the true depths of my depravity or what I am capable of. And there will be no peace in my soul until I taste her blood on my lips as her life slips away."

description

To say I was flabbergasted at some scenes would be an understatement. Some turncoats and backstabbers later, the story screeched to an abrupt halt on a cliffy and I'm left hanging dry.
Hopefully book 3 lands soonest and I get to see how Santiago emerges as a human.
Also I'd love to know more about Judge and his "handling" of Mercedes . there's a really good story right there!!

It’s not my right to claim this yet, and it may not be healthy, but she’s mine. I didn’t see that for too long, I didn’t value that the way I should have, but she is God damned mine.

When I tell you that I INHALED this book the second it landed on my kindle...

I'm talking the sort of obsessed that keeps you hidden in a dark bathroom with a locked door so the kids don't interrupt your reading. I'm talking the sort of obsessed that leaves you with honest to gawd shakes when you're done because you're that desperate for your next fix. I CANNOT DEAL RIGHT NOW. THIS TRILOGY.

Do you know the last time I can tell you when I liked book two in the trilogy almost more than book one? Never. It's pretty much never happened. But where book one was spell binding, this was a dose of electricity straight down my spine. I LOVED IT is what I'm trying to tell you here. LIKE dying for the next book loved.

Now if you follow my reviews, you already know I love mean heroes. If they're extra tortured and mercurial, even better. And Santiago is the definition of a tortured alphahole. The man is beyond broken and all things damaged. His pain is rooted with the type of betrayal you can't recover from. So when faced with the betrayal of his own wife? Not even the devil himself can keep his vengeance at bay. There were times in this book where I wanted to throw him off a tall cliff. Honest to god, the man took things way too far and almost to the point of no return when it came to his wife. And yet, I couldn't help but still root for him. How does that even happen?!

Ivy is the type of heroine by bookish dreams are made of. She's a fighter with a sharp wit and a spine of steel. She doesn't back down easily and even though she's been through hell and back, she doesn't stop fighting. This book almost brings her to her breaking point, and it was devastating to watch that point be brought by here husband. But man was it unputdownable.

Lies, betrayal, murder, a secret society with archaic rules...this story had it all. It was spine tinglingly delicious and addictive to the point where I binge read it in one sitting. To say that I'm dying for the conclusion is a mild understatement here!

I honestly thought that this one is going to be so much better. Well not really. 🙄 I need to lower my expectations.
I was so close to dnf-ing couple of times.

First, the things Santiago did to Ivy made me sick to my stomach. I know this is a mafia romance, I've read 100 more darker books but this was just cruel and not believable at all. Everything was so forced!!We knew from the end of book 1 that Santiago was poisoned and Ivy disappeared as someone took her. So it actually turned out that Judge, Santiago's friend took her and kept her in his basement locked and after Santiago gets out of the hospital he takes Ivy home, locks her up again and treats her like animal.

"I try to jerk out of his grasp, but he just tightens his hold on me. I wonder how much more pressure before my jaw breaks."

"He twists my hair around his fist and tugs my head painfully backward."

He literally just tortures her, fucks her while she "hates" him but can't help herself feeling so wet when he is around.

"Looking at me arouses him. He’s just as attracted to me as I am to him despite everything"

And the most ridiculous thing is that he didn't even have any concrete evidence that Ivy actually poisoned him as they didn't found the suposed antidote she should've drank it after she kissed him. His theory was full of gaps and he was stupid AF honestly. I don't think I've ever read about H that was so forced and stupid but he was the big bad mafia boss.🙄

Ivy.. don't let me even start about her. She was naive, stupid that never thought with her head. He asks her why did she do it and she never says anything in the beginning !!!

“Tell. Me.” It’s a command. Voice loud. Firm. Angry.
“I didnt mean to hurt you.” I say it wrong. It comes out all wrong.

Well yes when you are so damn stupid and weak!!! She should've told him right away and not half way through the book. This whole non sense could've been avoided.

The story finally started going somewhere in the second half and then it stopped and started to repeat again. Ivy acting like an idiot, Santiago treating her like garbage and so on ..

"But she hates me so much that she would rather kill herself than continue in this life with me. "

Yep, treating her like dirt will do that.🙄
She tries to kill herself even and in the hospital they discover she's pregnant.
I'm just gonna say poor baby with this lunatics as parents.

"And I know I’ve made a terrible mistake.
One that won’t cost only me but possibly the baby inside me."

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I can't even roll my eyes enough. Can't wait to see how this trainwreck will end.

Reparation of Sin is the second book in The Society Trilogy. Ivy has been captured by The Society and has been blamed for trying to kill her husband Santiago. Santiago is still out for revenge and is now warring with himself over his growing affection for his wife. Enemies continue to come out of the shadows and they will stop at nothing to cause Ivy and Santiago more pain. Ivy and Santiago are a good match and yet neither can find the strength to truly trust the other.

description
"Nobody can be trusted."
Told in dual POV, Reparation of Sin is another nail biter. The action and suspense are non-stop as Santiago's hate continues to taint his feelings for Ivy. Just when you think the two are going to find their way, another roadblock lands in their path. The passion between Ivy and Santiago is explosive as the love between them continues to simmer. Until Santiago can truly put his trust in Ivy, there will be no true peace between them. Ivy is fierce and refuses to stop fighting. Santiago is stubborn to the core and although he knows that he needs to submit to the love he feels for Ivy, the hate in his heart continues to hold him back!
"I will keep her."
Overall, Reparation of Sin will appeal to dark romance fans who enjoy an action-packed world full of passion, suspense, and intrigue! In true Society fashion, this one ends in a cliffy! I for one cannot wait to get my hands on the final installment of this series.

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the second installment in "The Society" trilogy and should be read in order. It starts where book 1 ended. I’m glad that Santiago didn’t get soft but at the same time, I hated it. That’s what they call a hate/love relationship, right!? He made me mad, it was like with Santiago the authors were testing my limits. He was cruel, a real monster. A monster who I couldn’t not to love. I don’t know what to think of Ivy. Could he finally break her? I really don’t know. The only negative point that I can say was the miscommunication between the MCs. But here I didn’t mind. It made the story more enjoyable for me. All in all loved it and hope you enjoy it as well!

oof, I have mixed feelings about this one. the first book was a hit for me, and I loved every bit of it, but there were scenes and topics in the second book that bugged me, so I had to remove few stars.

what I didn't like:
➵ miscommunication ruined half of the book for me, and I'm not kidding, but I think I lost all of my hair because I constantly kept pulling on it.

I'll explain why so we left off with a woman giving Santiago a kiss of death, so in other words, the lipstick she wore was poisonous. In those moments, Santiago thought Ivy poisoned him because that's who he believes he saw and that's also where the miscommunication start.

“I didn’t—”
“You didn’t what?” he asks.
“I didn’t…” I grunt with his next thrust. He’s released my bottom and has got my jaw in his hand now, fingers digging into soft flesh.
“Tell. Me.” It’s a command. Voice loud. Firm. Angry. “I didn’t mean to hurt you.” I say it wrong. It comes out all wrong. It’s not what I meant. I meant…but it doesn’t matter. (Chapter 8)

Just rereading this scene makes me want to facepalm myself. What she meant to say was, "I didn't poison you. It was not me." but look at what she's saying. I want to pull on my hair again.

description

"I need to talk to you about what happened. I need to make you understand."
I clamp my hand around her jaw, forcing her lips to shut. "The only time you should open your mouth is to please me." (Chapter 9)

what do you think she does next?
A) tell the truth that she didn't poison him.
B) she pleases him and still does not tell the truth.

I'm disappointed in Ivy because she chooses B. However, it doesn't matter if she tells the truth or not because he still does not believe her.

“Why?” he asks, voice broken, desperate. “Why, Ivy?”
I brush back sweat-slicked hair. “I swear to you, I swear on my life, I didn’t. I did not do what you’re accusing me of.”
“Your life is no longer yours to swear upon.”
(Chapter 13)

description

He does not believe her, yet he still asks her why she did it. My dude needs to go to a doctor to clean his ears because the words are not directly going to his head.

“Why did you do it?” he asks, looking wretched, sounding even more so.
I can’t control the emotion, the tears that come. I don’t even try. Because I’m doomed. We both are. (Chapter 16)

I don't want to get into this anymore! It makes me want to pull on my hair, so I'll stop.

description

➵ Ivy started to annoy me a lot. One minute she says he is not a monster, and the next, she says he is. Is everything okay inside your head? Is he or is he not?

"You can't do that. You wouldn't. I know you aren't the monster you want everyone to believe you are." (Chapter 9)

“You’re a monster!” I explode at him, clawing at the drawing wanting to tear it from him, wanting to rip it to shreds as if that would stop it from happening. (Chapter 13)

description

➵ He locks Ivy inside her room for two weeks. She begs the helpers to let her see him, but they refuse, so she swallows all the aspirin because she thinks he abandoned her, and when he is finally near her, she wants him gone. Make up your damn mind I don't have time for this childish game!

“It is reality. My child grows inside your belly. You will not hurt him again.”
Does he think I really wanted to hurt a baby? I tug free of his grip. “Get out.” My voice breaks. “You will never be alone again. Isn’t that what you’ve been whining about?”
“Get out.” I can’t look at him as my hand moves over my belly, my throat tight, vision blurry with tears. I’m pregnant. I am pregnant.

That's it. I'm stopping here. I even deleted half of the review because it only made me angrier. I SWEAR I think the main plot of this book is about Santiago wanting to impregnate Ivy. He is so desperate it's the only thing he can talk about. On and on.

I need her fucking pregnant, and I need it now. (Chapter 14)

"I need you pregnant," I bite out. When I open my eyes again, she's staring at me with a strained expression on her face. "It's a matter of life or death for you." I brush her hair back over her shoulders and sigh. "No more excuses, Ivy. You’ll see a doctor tomorrow. And you better pray that come next month, that test is positive." (Chapter 15)

description

And I mentioned this in my previous review and nothing changed. And I only feel hate towards Santiago De La Rosa for the things he did and said to Ivy so he better gets his shit together in the second book.

Aside from everything, I still enjoyed the writing and the setting of the book and the little moments of Santiago being soft and sweet toward Ivy. Also, If I wrote a short review, I would've used Mercedes' words because that's how I felt throughout the book.

"Just... this whole thing is stupid, and I'm tired of it. Either kill her and be done with it, or just admit that you aren't going to. There's no point in torturing her and dragging it out."

⭐️4.25 hopeful stars ⭐️

Just this once. The same thing every addict tells themself

That’s how I felt as soon as I started this story. I must admit book one ended on a brutal cliffhanger and I was salivating to get my hands on book two. I was ready to be blown away, eager to get my next fix. I’m sorry to say this didn’t work out as predicted let alone as I had hoped.

Although the story is fast paced, with some twists and turns to keep me glued to the pages, what left me unsatisfied were Ivy and Santiago.

I have always wished Ivy was more of a badass, I gave her the benefit of the doubt in book one since she has been through a lot and had to deal with a difficult situation. In book two however she loses all ability to use her brain. Her half attempts to communicate are repetitive and void of any true meaning. She does absolutely nothing to persuade her husband of her innocence nor does she plead not guilty. She accepts any unfair treatment thrown her way with zero reaction. Not to mention her condition that only manifests at any given times (a shortcoming I wouldn’t expect from such a good duo).

Santiago is irritating to say the least, he got on my last nerve with his obsession about revenge, he’s blinded by hate, so closed minded and sure of what he thinks he knows he doesn’t ever stop and check facts. He bases his belief on his self-absorbed opinion.

The Society is mostly made up by a bunch of chauvinistic pigs their behaviour so far-fetched and anachronistic however it fits the story and it also justifies Santiago’s larger than life ego.

The relationship between Santiago and Ivy was based on miscommunication, or lack thereof, leading to further disagreement, there was no progress. Their bond is at a standstill, when there was a hint of it moving forward one of them did something dumb to jeopardise any progress. They are both stubborn, they don’t talk, just plot against each other then act surprised when everything gets blown up in their faces. Although Santiago carries out some actions that are borderline domestic violence it fits with his persona, so I would say here it works, its character remains coherent.

I feel something else for her too. Something inexplicable. Something dangerous. Something I can never allow myself to feel

Ivy sees what makes Santiago weak but she’s a meek shadow of a woman and does absolutely nothing to improve her relationship with her husband. Despite both of them acknowledging something stronger than hate is brewing between them they decide to ignore their feelings, rather than repairing what little is left of their union they decide to burn everything down to ashes. I wish the authors would have developed this part better, it didn’t get the care and attention it deserved to advance the story, nor did it give development to the characters, somehow redeeming them from their poor behaviour. While I appreciate how the authors didn’t jump from hate to love in the span of a book I was expecting more depth into Ivy and Santiago's relationship.

That said I know for a fact these two authors are amazing and can do so much better, so I’m still hoping for a great book to end this trilogy. Despite the above mentioned flaws the story captured me and I have high expectations for book three. I strongly hope both Santiago and Ivy grab some sense and act like two thinking individuals.

OMFG this book!!! OMFG this series !!!

Reading Reparation of Sin was like taking a roller coaster ride.
One moment everything is a mess, then it become absolutely perfect and then again everything goes down and you feel like you wanna stab someone because damn!!

Santiago and Ivy' story is not a fairy tale, and in this second book is clearer than ever.
It's twisted, dark, tormented yet there's a moment in the middle of the book that give us a glimpse of what they could be, of what they could have.....
But Santiago is too consumed by hate to see the truth, and Ivy is too "weak" and emotional to think clearly ( i'm not bleaming her because her situation it's not easy at all). They are both blind when it comes to the deadly scheme that their enemies are playing. And it may be too late when they figure it out....

This incredible duo show us again how great they are together and what an amazing world they can create: one that's so complex and intriguing, where every little details has a purpose and every characters has a story worth knowing ( yep i'm talking about Judge and Angelo, i need their stories!!).
It's damn addictive, and i wish it was already May because i know i'm gonna drive myself crazy thinking about every possibility 🙈😂

So yeah if it wasn't obvious enough i'm in love with this series and maybe a bit obsessed too 😂
Give it a chance and then tell me i ain't' right 😌

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

line

Star Rating : 4.5/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : yes

Hero : Santiago De La Rosa

Heroine : Ivy Moreno

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 7/10

Heat Rating : 7/10

Triggers Involved : Abuse , Kidnapping , Light Torture

Plot Summary :
Santiago doesn't know who to believe. The one person he thought was different has betrayed him and now there is no coming back. Ivy messed up when she tried to kill him and now she was going to pay. It's good that she reminded him that her family was not Trustable and he would never forget that. He had nothing but hate for her in his mind and now she would die for her sins. But not before he makes her suffer.

Ivy has no idea what she did to justify the treatment she is getting right now. She doesn't know if her husband is alive or not and now is trapped at this unknown place. There is no way out and the people trapping her here are hell bent on breaking her. And they might just succeed in doing so. That is until she comes to know that Santiago holds her guilty for what happened to him. There is no one who is going to save her now. No one who will come to her rescue. And the one person she had hope from might be the one who would end up killing her in the first place.

Overall Opinion :
There are books that affect you and there are books like this one that completely annihilate your soul. I am not kidding when I say that this book is dark. It’s dark and thrilling and has everything I could ever want in a book! It made me feel so many emotions.

My heart broke for what Ivy went through and there were scenes when I hated Santiago so much but then he showed the utterly broken man beneath his monster exterior and I couldn’t help but fall for him . Again and Again. I spent the whole night yesterday reading this book in one sitting. For me , this trilogy is one of the top works of these authors!

This book is the second part of a trilogy and picks up right where the first one ended. The ending of the first book was so confusing and I knew that the book was about to take a turn in an ugly direction for the characters. There is something much bigger at play here and there is nothing both Santiago and Ivy can do until they sort out their own differences.

Santiago is probably one of the most cold heroes of all time. He had so much hate inside him that my heart broke for him. He didn’t know who to trust because He had always been betrayed by the people closest to him and something told him that the same thing had happened again. And now his wife was caught in the crosshairs. He had plans to destroy her and her family but she is weakening them all. She is weakening him. And that is the one thing he can never have. So she must pay and if she hates him in the end of this all then so be it.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series to all the Dark romance lovers out there, Trust me , there is no way you can miss this trilogy. It’s dirty and sinful. These two authors will make you feel every pain known to this world and they will rip out your heart slowly and you will enjoy the hell out of it. Like I said before , this trilogy has a few triggers, so please make sure that you keep that In mind before picking up this book.

”But there’s something else too. Something between us, Santiago and me. A dark thing. A gnarled thing. I feel it inside me, inside my stomach, my chest.”

19879732

Holy Effing WOW!!! I swear, you need a bottle of Xanax and a half gallon of vodka to endure this series! I ate, slept, and breathed this book. There is dark romance...and then there is this dang series. Particularly Santiago De La Rosa.

“Do you know what the difference is between me and you, Ivy?”
“What?” I spit.
“I know I am hated. I don’t care. I use it as a strength. You? You care. Hate steals your strength. My hate of you weakens you. Makes a pathetic victim out of you.”

I am not saying I like him. I get that he's a tortured hero and all but he is SO mean to Ivy, like beyond all reason. I was glad to see her stand up to him on more than one occasion. Truth be told, I would be happy with an entire installment of him just groveling the whole time! He didn't cross the line, I guess. But he sure danced on it! I lived for the fleeting moments in this book when these two actually, sorta kind of, like for a millisecond...let their guard down for one another. If nothing else, this book proves how thin that line is between love and hate!

"I can't look at her. And I can't be away from her. She truly is the slowest, deadliest form of poison."

23865211

This is a heart-pounding sequel to Requiem of the Soul filled with more lies, secrets, betrayal and LOTSA...ummm, hate f&cking. (There just really is no other term for it.)

10044737_zpso0thylpt

There were a few times where I just didn't feel like the characters were evolving and progressing. Not gonna lie, it was frustrating. However, it also felt like it was setting up for one hell of a finale in book 3, Resurrection of the Heart. I loved this gritty and sexy dark romance and NEED more like now.

"I see you, Santiago. I think I've always seen you."

Oh, also...when is the spin off series for Judge and Mercedes, because that better be a thing!!! I need all the deets with those two. You can cut the sexual tension between them with a knife!!!

Thank you to Candi Kane PR who provided me with an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This one picks up right where the first one ended and let me tell you it was boring. I had such high hopes for this trilogy and I'm so disappointed. To be honest, I should have know. This is why I usually stick to romance standalones. With romance duets/trilogies the authors stretch out the story so much to the point where in the end there's nothing there anymore. The entire conflict could have been solved in a few pages if these characters actually fucking talked to each other and communicated like grown adults. And once again it ends with the h being kidnapped, because we've never seen that before.

“She will be the other half of my dead soul, chained to me for eternity. My skeletal queen.“

Well well well. Lines have been crossed. Players names are revealed. And that plot twist at the end? The one where Santiago seeks help from an unlikely character?! I did NOT anticipate that.

Book two, Reparation of Sin is highly intense. It seems like when Santiago and Ivy would take one step forward in the relationship, they both had to take two steps back. There is minimal if any trust between these two and there’s just no foundation in their marriage. They have a sexual chemistry that is undeniable, but with the lack of trust and communication, makes for one hell of a marriage.

Santiago obviously has severe trust issues after being poisoned and he is convinced it was his wife. We as the readers know that it wasn’t, but Santiago is a hardheaded man and struggles to see it any other way.

This book is really hot and cold with Ivy in Santiago‘s relationship but it was a heart thumping book to read because as the reader, you have suspicions on who is behind the poisoning and possibly who killed Santiago‘s family and permanently disfigured him.
You’re thinking it’s one character but by the end of the book you’re convinced at someone else.

This book does not come without some steam. Like I said Ivy and Santiago have the best sexual chemistry. When the clothes come off, these two are pure fire.
“You can address me as Dominus et Deuce.” I squeeze her ass hard as I push past the tight barrier. “Your Lord and your God. “

For some reason I had in my head that this was a duet. It is not! So this book does leave off on an insane cliffhanger. It will be a trilogy. However, these authors push their books out really quick. So I know that we won’t have to wait long at all!

After that cliffhanger we are left wondering who took Ivy?. Just when you thought Santiago was opening himself to Ivy, the chemistry they shared was off the charts no matter how much they both tried to deny their feelings. then the carpet is swept from underneath you. Someone tried to kill Santiago, that thought boggles me especially that I am being framed for it. Now I'm up for trial with the Tribunal for a crime I did not commit. All the mistrust is now unleashed on his prisoner because that is now Ivy's current situation. Santiago is now back on his path of destruction of the Moreno family and Ivy has the first seat of the monster he is and has become now that he believes she is now Poison Ivy...However in this book you find out who all the key players are and it seems like Ivy nor Santiago can trust the people who are the closes to them. So much darkness twist and turns, suicide, torture, deceit, lies, kidnap & much much more. Everything Ivy went through she was still strong and survived not only the monster of the darkness she survived everyone. But Ivy finds out the monster she should be running from is the one she thought she could trust the most and now she put her life in the wrong person hand. Lets hope Santiago can find her before its too late.

What a beautifully written book!!! Full of twists and turns. I love Ivy, but babe, you have to stop being so gullible. Her chemistry with Santiago once again is off the chains. I love both, and I'm rooting for them so hard. Their back and forth, all the angst, it's all worth it. I'm thoroughly invested in this story, and I need to know what happens next. The cliffy is once again a stab in the heart!!!!

The theme of retribution mixed with unbidden love continues in this gothic romance. Much of the novel covers Ivy's denial of her involvement with Santiago's poisoning and seemingly all clues seem to point to her in the midst of their on again, off again romantic feelings. While Ivy and Santiago fight their feelings for each other, they remain drawn to each other with incredible, inextinguishable chemistry as more mystery unfolds from family members bent on interfering in their realizing truths. Their chemistry is on high; steam, a raging inferno, and as much as they may maintain they hate is each other, their passion is unquenchable.

Again, while not a dark book, dark themes persist in this storyline, mainly in coerced consent and intrigue. The overriding truth continues to be "trust no one." An element of doubt runs through this story even though for the most part, the reader is always aware of the absolute truth. Unfortunately, this omniscient feeling on top of a pervasive sense of common themes are what made this story not exactly original. I have already figured out the angle for both this book and upcoming book 3. I also sadly lost a lot of respect for Ivy, who makes reckless decisions even with the evidence in her face.

I am still a big fan of Santiago, a misunderstood, possessive, broody and passionate hero and continue to root for this couple's happily ever after. They are explosive together. Also a great medley of characters, from new-found friends, to untrustworthy relatives, to staunch society members make this story a worth read. The suspense-thriller aspect, again while not surprising or twisty, is entertaining. What is Mercedes' angle? (I suspect a romance between her and Santiago's best friend, Judge.) Where is Ivy's sister, Hazel? What are the plans for Ivy's father, Eli? What chaos is Abel cooking up? Nicely, I like that reveals are disclosed throughout the tale and not withheld in a contrived manner as to unnaturally draw out the story. Pace is comfortable and progressive. Overall, a great read. It's simply swoony romantic, and I look forward to book 3.

Reparation of Sin by Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli
Ivy wakes up to a new hell. Kidnapped and accused of a crime she emphatically denies. But those of the IVI Society’s hierarchy hold her fate in their hands. Will she survive their wrath?

Santiago can’t believe how blinded he was but vows never to allow someone to get under his skin, as his wife had. She will pay and if she thought his punishments were harsh before, she will enter a new type of hell when he unleashes his fury. Ivy never knew the hate that Santiago held, especially when she thought she was finally learning to love him.

Will he erase any love she had for him? What will it take for Ivy to prove herself? Will Santiago listen? And who was responsible for the attempt on his life? Will Ivy make the biggest mistake of her life by trusting the wrong people?
Once again these two fantastic authors have blown me away. The story was gripping, full of suspense and mystery. The chemistry was off the charts. And just when you think that it will start to work out, the rug was pulled from under you and you are left with Oh My Hat, run, run, run. Oh, Ivy what have you done? I cannot wait to read more of this suspenseful story. And Mercedez and Judge? Now there's a story that I cannot wait to read. I am loving this series, I can’t get enough of it and am blown away by the incredible writing, plot twists and overall that feeling of not being able to read quickly enough. Mind-blowing and gripping. Highly recommended.

Ok, it doesn’t get better. 90% of the book is the festival of psychic, physical and sexual abuse after which the so called hero is surprised and hurt (sic!) that the until-now-doormat heroine takes drastic measures to escape her tormentor. Illogical and unconvincing. Probably will read the last part to see how the authors of this train wreck will go for redeeming irredeemable.

This second part of the Society trilogy is even darker and more raw than the first book.
At times it was hard to witness what Ivy went through, the pain, the punishments inflicted by her own husband, and watching Santiago's rage and his uncontrollable need for revenge escalate to the point of madness. Even in the darkest moments of their story, you could feel their struggle with their own feelings and the extent of their all-consuming desire for each other despite their hatred and resentment. All in all, I enjoyed the suspense, the intrigue, the lies, the betrayal, the hotness, the intensity, and all the twists and turns this book delivered. I listened to the audio version and like the previous book, the narration was spot-on!

"She thinks she has known suffering, but she has never experienced the true depths of my depravity or what I am capable of."

"I won't beg you for mercy... And I will never stop fighting you."

"I hope you won't ever stop fighting because I will enjoy breaking you bit by bit."

"I feel something else for her too. Something inexplicable. Something dangerous. Something I can never allow myself to feel. "/b>

OMG!! Just when you think things couldn’t get worse,Natasha finds another way to break your heart into a million pieces!
After Requim of the Soul,i knew i needed the rest of the series in my library, ready to keep reading until the last page of Resurrection of the Heart and i’m só glad i did…..
Because Reparation of Sin broke my heart and i need a cure RIGHT NOW!

What Santiago puts Ivy through is só painful to watch, even more so because of his conflicted emotions.
Not that he admits he has them…..and that makes it even worse!
Ivy can do nothing, but endure and try to get through to him,any way she can.
And sometimes she does, only to get it thrown back into her face later on.
Still, she develops feelings for him, sees the tormented pain in his eyes, and wants to help him.
Until even she can’t go on like this, and after hitting rock bottom, finds a way out…..

And that’s where i’m left at the end of Reparation of Sin.
With yet another cliffhanger from hell.
At least i have the cure waiting for me…….

Once again the freaking ending!!!!!!! The story continues and my oh my Santiago .. I just want to rip open his chest and thaw out his heart. Bless him so much because he has been though so much he doesn't know how to feel and it breaks my heart. I don't know if I was in Ivy situation if I could handle it. There are times I cringed and it takes a lot for me to do that. Times I was like "this crazy a$$ man has lost his dang mind and I would have killed him if it was me" . But then you know how and why he is the way he is, plus Ivy ....well she is kinda likes it . I just want to thank the authors for letting me go on this journey with them! You guys ROCK and I can't wait for the next book, like I need it now !!!!

This reminds me of stretching a piece of gum as far as possible to see how long I could get it! This is an absolute joke! It's basically two characters not communicating. At one point Ivy even admits to something she didn't do.. by mistake!? Who does that? Maybe if you're a confused 5yr old and it's an adult using big words.

I was just so disappointed after the first book. Nothing happens in this book apart from lack of communication between the two main characters. The cliff hanger from the first book basically stretched out to make up 50% of this one too.

This could have easily been the last book, but instead it was just a filler.

THIS is why these two authors are my dark romance literary dream team. Betrayal and vengeance, complicated characters, emotional turbulence, secrets and suspense, and all the plot twists- everything I love about dark romantic suspense. And Requiem takes everything I loved about book one and amplifies it- everything is more intense, more passionate, more emotional, and more deliciously dark. From the riveting for chapter to the jaw dropping last, my heart was in my throat.

I was floored by the finale of Requiem, and Reparation dives right back into this intriguing, intoxicating, and twisted Society world as we try to figure out just what happened at the party, and WHO is responsible. All signs point to our embattled heroine, who just was starting to find some emotional footing with our malicious and manipulative anti-hero. But, all the chemistry is now poisoned by mistrust and deception. And let’s just say things get messy real fast. Tons of emotional turbulence, and so much suspense. Book one introduced us to all the key players, and how all the players interact with each other. But in this book we’re digging deeper- the pieces are the board, and now it’s time to figure out the players motivations. Who is playing whom...and why?

If you thought Santiago was cold and cruel in book one, you better brace yourself. This is a man who’s spent year’s hardening his heart, building armored walls to keep him from letting others in. And nothing ires him more than the inch he gave Ivy, and the fact that it hurts that she potentially betrayed him. So he UNLEASHES- we see the best and worst of this man, his vitriolic bitterness and his obstinate blindness as well as his woundedness, his tender heart. Somehow AZ and NK make a man whose actions are truly deplorable, a man who enrages me, and they make him empathetic. Reparation treats us to the careful dismantling of this man’s walls- we get inside his heart. And, while we don’t find softness, we do find emotion, and we find dark beauty. We find his humanity - and now he just has to figure out how to lean into without losing his dark essence. And Ivy- Ivy seems to be the key, she somehow inspires the best in him, somehow unlocks parts of his being that others can't, but she also inspires the worst in him, too. There were a few scenes where I thought Santi was crossing a line I could never forgive- but like Ivy, I can’t make my heart stop beating for him.

Poor Ivy. I said that so many times in this book. Good lord does this woman go through it- I felt my heartbreak for her so often. She’s completely powerless, desperate and close to irreparable broken in so many places. At times she made me want to shake her, but mostly I just wanted to hug her. Because her heart never stops trying to find good in others- and she never stops trying. She finds small ways to find power in the most powerless of places, and

The chemistry is this story- OH LAWD. I feel like I have a concussion from the emotional whiplash. These two are so hot and cold, so much push and pull. Everytime these two start to find any sort of stability with each other, any sort of emotional trust or vulnerability, new obstacles or new truths come to light, and the fragile hold they have on each other crumbles and has to be rebuilt. This is romantic chaos- beautifully done. Individually they are both emotional powderkegs just waiting to combust. They are both so painfully lonely, isolated in their own worlds, and both vibrating with tensions that come from years of pain, emotional repression, distrust, and resentment towards others in their world. Santiago has been consumed by hate and revenge, and Ivy has suffered within the patriarchal confines of their corrupt world. They are so carefully knitted up, until each other- both inspiring emotional, need, and conflicting feelings in one another neither was expected. And now, in book 2, we get to dig even deeper into their dynamics. And my goodness is it transfixing. Together, they are somehow both toxic and volatile while also being restorative and sweet. Having never experienced intense and complicated emotions like these before, they both make misguided mistakes to protect themselves or hurt the other- leaving us broken and bruised and desperate.

Of course, just when we find hope, things run way off course. Huge revelations, huge twists, and a heart stopping cliffhanger leave us twisted and broken over these two. And so we wait- for what I know will be an epic finale to this dark and wickedly entertaining trilogy. I AM HOOKED! AND I DESPERATELY NEED THE CONCLUSION!

***4,5 "Poison Ivy!!!" stars***

AVAILABLE NOW

"Emotions don't have a place in a De La Rosa heart."

This series is like an addiction that I can't let go!!! I just need more and more!!!
A. Zavarelli and Natasha Knight are on their best in here and they are giving us an unforgettable story full of darkness, bad intentions and so many secrets!!!
And of course, this book ended in another killer cliffy and I can not wait to see how the things will turned out after all!!!
Is there still hope for Santiago and Ivy to embrace their true feelings and stop hiding behind bullshit excuses???

"I know you aren't the monster you want everyone to believe you are."
"You know nothing about me."

The story picked up exactly from where it left us in the first book and the torture started immediately for Ivy. Poor girl!!! She was innocent, but everyone was out for her blood!!!
She is finding herself bound and helpless and she doesn't really know what is happening to her and to her husband!!!
At the same time, Santiago is fighting for his life for a second time and when he is coming back to the living side, he knows that he was betrayed from the woman that he had never trust. His enemy.... His wife!!!!

"When did I forget that he was the devil? And what will he do to me now that he thinks I tried to kill him?"

"Nothing has changed. She will pay for her sins. In blood."

As you can understand, from that moment, Santiago is embracing his monstrous side and he is determined to make Ivy's life a living hell!!!
OMG!!! Santiago in here was really cruel!!! At some points, I was scared by him and by how he was handling Ivy.
As for Ivy??? Poor girl had to live a pure hell in the hands of her husband!!! But she was at wrong here too!!! It's like she had no voice to explain, damn it!!! I was so angry with her...
The only sure thing is that there are enemies around them. Enemies that they might don't want to see and they are out for them both!!!
So what will happen after all???

"I won't beg you for mercy... And I will never stop fighting you."
"I hope you won't ever stop fighting because I will enjoy breaking you bit by bit."

I love Santiago and Ivy, even at their worst!!! I know that love had sneaked inside both of them, but they are too stubborn to accept this reality. They supposed to hate each other, but they are bound to destroy themselves and their marriage.
I know that this marriage didn't start with many potentials, but it could become something great.
I just wish for both of them to stop being so stubborn.

"We are two rabid creatures, clawing at each other with staged hatred but desperate for more of this toxic attraction between us."

Honestly, I don't know what more to say about this story... Only that it is dark, raw, passionate and intoxicating!!!
Santiago is one of my favorite antiheroes out there and I just wish for Ivy to be a little bit more feisty and to not make idiotic choices that could lead to her death!!! Arrrr!!!!
I just need the final book to put me out of my misery!!! Even though I would be very sad when this story comes to an end!!! I have loved these characters and their story very much!!!

"I think in time he will break me whether he wants to hurt me or not."

"In life or death, I will haunt her to the ends of the earth."
