This was fantastic! The entire time I was reading this made me feel like I was reading a primary source from Supernatural. I got to meet the artist/author this year at GalaxyCon RVA (2023) and got to talking about folklore and fantasy and fairy tales and myths for at least 10 or 15mins on Day 1 and then made sure to come back to get this book on Day 2. The handmade tooled leather, the grimoire pages featuring the information for each featured creature along with expedition notes from the author really pull you into the truth of how dangerous or how timid or how alluring each creature can be. I heard there is a second volume in the works that will feature more amazing creatures, so I'm waiting impatiently for it to be released. I only hope it's given the same leather cover and love this first volume has been given.
This was an absolute joy to read. The artwork is fantastic and very eye catching.
The presentation of the stories made me feel as if I truly had found a long lost journal. It gave me the same sort of feeling I had when reading Adventures of Sherlock Holmes as a child.
