Weniger lesen
Tracy Lorraine is a M/F and M/M contemporary romance author. Tracy has just turned thirty and lives in a cute Cotswold village in England with her husband, baby girl and lovable but slightly crazy dog. Having always been a bookaholic with her head stuck in her Kindle Tracy decided to try her hand at a story idea she dreamt up and hasn’t looked back since.
If you're looking for a highly addictive, bingeable romance series, look no further! Tracy Lorraine has had me hooked since the first page of the prequel. The Betrayal You Serve is the finale of this fast paced, new adult deliciousness, and it was just as captivating and all-consuming as the previous installments!
Kane and Letty's story is a wild, rollercoaster ride of emotion, passion, and toxicity that I couldn't get enough of. Everything between them is intense, especially the sex! Seriously, if you don't fan yourself a time or two reading their story, check and make sure you still have a pulse.
These two have come a long way since the party that started it all, and I've enjoyed watching their individual development and the progress in their relationship. At the same time, I loved that who they were as a couple didn't completely change once they admitted their love for each other. Letty is still Kane's "dirty little whore," and he's still an absolute alphahole through and through.
If you've read my reviews of the previous three books, you know Luca and Leon have a special place in my heart. I felt even more for them in this one, and I can't wait to see what lucky bitches get to snatch them up! That being said, I'm probably the most excited to get Reid's story. He's messed up and totally out of his fucking mind. In other words, he's probably going to be my favorite!
Bottom line, I've had a lot of fun with the Maddison University series thus far! Despite how many times Letty made me want to strangle her, she is clearly head over heels for Kane, and vice versa. They're perfect for each other in every single way, and I'm glad they got the happy ending they deserved after so much loss and pain.
Though this is the end of their story, the ride's not over. The author still has more stories to tell. Book 4, The Vengeance You Crave, is coming out June 24th! Stay tuned!
Fans of steamy, new adult romance full of angst, this one's for you!
There are many instances throughout book three of unwarranted miscommunications between Letty and Kane.
I don't know what it is, but this chic is superficial, naive and easy to fool. It seems she always says sorry despite the fact that she knows what she is doing. Like girl lost her self esteem and lack a backbone.
After learning that Kane had another woman allegedly pregnant, she almost had a tnreesome when she went to the twins.
The three of them together, I thought that was so cringeworthy and anticlimactic.
This third and final installment of these knuckleheads lacked any redeeming qualities.
It's a pretty bare-bones writing style with childish characters, but if you like that kind of stuff give this a shot.
Despite my statement that I was not going to finish this, I ended up finishing it. Having stated in my first review that this was unable to yield any tangible results, this was a disappointment for me.
The destructive nature that haunts Letty and Kane continues in this book. On one hand, I want to yell and scream at them to start acting like adults. Then I remember the other hand and how impulsive and irrational decision making can be at that age. I lived it. I witnessed it. Sadly, many (but not even close to all) of their poor decisions are normal-ish and realistic. As much as I hate it, I appreciate that Tracy Lorraine kept things mostly honest in that regard.
There is a silver lining and it is beautiful (and incredibly hot! 🔥🔥🔥 ). I love when things begin moving in the right direction and they become playful and put the needs of others first. It's not that they turn over a new leaf, per se. It's more that they decide they want to be better people and find a way to move in that direction. It's not all puppies 🐕🐩 and ice cream 🍨🍦🍧 because there's still plenty of shady stuff all around them that requires dealing with first.
"You need to be wise to tame a Legend." --Harley Hunter
Harley may be younger but she's definitely wise beyond her years. 💚😀
While this rounds out Kane and Letty's story (which should be read in order, starting with the prequel), it is not the end of the MKU storyline. I'm unsure that I like the direction that the hero, if you can call him that based on the tidbit in the epilogue, seems to be set to take but I'm going to trust Tracy to make it alright. I mean, it's not like I have a choice, right? 🤔😯😘
🚩 One last thing. This series is 😈 dark and sinister 👿 with some - OK, numerous - examples that fall into the questionable consent category. It's probably best if you can check your morals at the door. 🚱 You've been warned. ⛔
who needs to discuss the relation when you can just have a threeway? since I finished book 2 I've been dying to get this audiobook, and now I'm so disappointed.
what did I learn from this book? well, that there is such a thing as too many sex scenes!
DNF! 6% into this book and the h overreacts like she usually does and has foreplay threesome with the Dunn twins! I think the author just put it there for unnecessary drama that had no point at all!
I wasted my time reading two books only to find out that the h is a pathetic, cheating W! Yes, the H is horrible and he probably doesn’t deserve any decent woman, but this h is probably one of the worst characters I’ve read. She’s weak and makes really stupid decisions and not even 3 books later, her character did not grow at all.
I’m sorry but this is a hard DNF for me!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
“You got yourself under his skin years ago,Let. And I’m pretty sure you never got out.”
We’ sadly at the end of this emotional and twisted story.
I don’t even know how to begin.
This trilogy brought me on a never ending rollercoaster of emotions filled with angst, passion and so much more!
“You terrified me, you excited me, you captivated me.”
Letty and Kane are gonna break you .
Their journey was one of the most tormented , sexy and passionate ever!
The chemistry between them was undeniable, but what’s best is the connection they share. There’s an invisible line connecting them , and it’s unbreakable . No matter how much they try to hurt each other.
“No matter what I do.No matter what he does. There’s just this thing between us, I can’t even explain it.”
This book will make you really angry one second and really hot the next.
I don’t think there are words that can describe what this series is about, so you should check it out for yourself. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. You won’t regret it!
“Because this is it. I’ve officially been owned, claimed, and ruined by a Legend”
Tracy Lorraine’s concluded this all new enticing and angst filled romance series is a great way. Scarlett Hunter and Kane Legend’s story is not an easy one, they face so many battles from every angle, and for a while you don’t believe they’ll ever make it work, but the ending of this trilogy wraps up their story perfectly.
After the bombshell ending of the Deception You Weave, suddenly a happy ending for Letty and Kane looks even more unlikely, as Letty feels betrayed in the worst way. Just as she was letting Kane back in and beginning to trust him, he let her down once again, and she seeks comfort with her friends Luca and Leon. But Kane is determined to clear his name, and this is the last straw for him in terms of his other life, he is ready to show Letty that all he wants is her, and he’s willing to choose her over anything. But will Letty believe him when he tells her what really happened, and will Kane be able to escape his ties to the dark world and finally have a happy future, with the girl he loves, if she’ll have him?
Tracy wrapped up this trilogy in a way that left you satisfied with Letty and Kane’s story, but so intrigued by the other characters for the rest of the series. Letty and Kane had been through so much, they deserved a peaceful and quiet life, no one that young should face that much heartbreak and drama. I loved how they were forced to reunite, meddling siblings are the best, and had to clear the air and get everything out in the open, I think that was one of the most realistic things in this book, and I am so glad that Tracy didn’t brush anything under the carpet and made sure that they would start with every single truth as out there, big or small.
Kane became a better person in this book. He’d always done what he thought was right, even if it put himself in danger, but for once he chose his own happiness, and decided to try his best to get that, and also make Letty happy too. I am glad they talked through their shared grief, from both their losses, and he finally admitted that he didn’t really blame her, it was just his way of dealing with his loss. He finally faced his feelings for Letty head on, welcoming them instead of burying them. He’s still a very complex character trying to free himself from the dark world he’s found himself trapped in, and desperate for a brighter future, which he fights for in the end.
Letty’s heart was broken once again at the start of the book, and I wasn’t a massive fan of how she dealt with that trauma, I think it didn’t add anything to the story and I wish it hadn’t happened. Her feistiness and sassiness were still at the forefront when she fought back against Kane, but she’d learnt a lot about Kane so knew when he was playing her and when he was telling the truth. It’s clear throughout this series, she began to slowly feel more herself, as she shares the truth of what happened with more people who can help her heal, but I didn’t like how she treated Luca and Leon.
Throughout the series, Kane and Letty seem to go back and forth a lot, any time they seem to make any progress with their relationship, they seem to be knocked back even further. They have shots taken at them from all sides, Kane’s dark past, their shared history which holds its own trauma and Letty’s new friends accepting of Kane, but by the end, with everything out in the open, they could move on together as a couple. I think my only problem is that the plot in this book did seem quite receptive, and I wonder if the story could’ve been a duet and not a trilogy.
Tracy has set up the next couple in this book well, by the end you’re not sure how you feel about the next hero, but I am sure Tracy will make us fall in love with him throughout his book!
*I received an advanced copy of this in exchange for my honest review.*
If you want to learn how to rip a good book into pieces or throw it down the gutter just follow into the "print" steps of Tracy Lorraine. I guarantee you you'd f*uck up even the best of books!
That said I am going to jam my 3 book review into one. When I first got my hand on this series especially starting off with the novella I was so hyped that I finally found a series similar to Boys of Tommen. And to be honest Book 1 started perfect with hints of bully romance, past traumas, heartache, and shady lives.
Kane is a typical bully gangster with possessive tendencies (just my kind of dark romance MMC). You can feel from the beginning his obsession with Scarlett and that he has been pining for her for so many years but he has always put himself last in favour of his family and friends and that resulted in the MFC picking his best friend over him and that's when all this hate/obsession dynamic between them started.
Scarlett is not a typical MFC that I would like. She's indecisive, always making the most stupidest decisions but as this book had three installments I thought that her character would eventually evolve into a better version of herself. Especially that they missed out on their first years of college and they're actually in their twenties starting out as freshman.
Their relationship morphed into that of hate fuck, bullying, abuse, mouse/cat chase and provocation. Which is fine if the author kept her unnecessary awakward relationship with her twin bestfriends out of the equation.
You see, Scarlett, or Letty, wanted her best friend Kane to ask her out and not Riley, but as we mentioned before, Kane put himself last and encouraged Riley to go for it. Letty later changes town and thus school breaking Riley's heart in the process because she doesn't want to do long distance. Riley gets hammered and dies in a car accident. Kane obviously blames Letty and that's where their bumpy relationship starts. In her new school, Letty becomes friends with twins, Luca and Leon. She has a crush on Luca, he doesn't, he's a jock and a womaniser. So drunk at a party she goes and sleeps with the other twin, Leon but they both agree not to mention anything to Luca.
Fast forward in the story, the trio meet again in college. They have an OTT PDA dynamic which is uncomfortable, unrelatable and bordering "cringiness".
She leads them on, especially Luca, but at the same time she finds that Kane is at the same college and she hate fucks him at every turn. She then finds out that a woman claims to be pregnant with Kane's child. (Kane has been pimped to this woman by his gang boss). Letty loses it, gets drunk and goes to her twin "best friends" and tells them to please make the pain go away and this is how ladies and gentleman the author inserts a totally unnecessary, anticlimactic, shock (more like disgust) factor, stupid decision where the MFC has a threesome with the twins. Like WHYYYYYYY?!!!!!! Why would anyone do that? For drama? A gasp moment? A lapse in judgement? WHY????
This is the starting scene in Book 3 and this is where the series goes downhill. I would have and should have dnfd but I kept reading because after a novella and 2 books I owed that to myself.
And don't get me started on hypocrisy and double standards. The MFC and her best friend slut shame jersey chasers because they seek hookups with football players. YET the best friend constantly talks about wanting threesomes with the twins, seeks ONS at every party and sleeps with any guy that gives her a bit of attention. And the MFC instead of growing some titties she goes and has a threesome with her twin best friends, so you telling me these two's behaviour is not borderline slutty! Puhleassseeee...
The MFCs character is still volatile, making one stupid decision after another and frankly her character development is null.
Disappointment doesn't even come close to what I felt after reading book 3. My blood still boils after reading that first scene in Book 3! What a clusterf*ck of regrettable actions.
📝 ticking another Bingo square 39, 40, 41) "finish a trilogy" Squares Count: 23
Plot Summary : Scarlett doesn't know who to believe. Kane's betrayal was a slap in the face. She knew she should hate him but she had started trusting him which is why his deception hurt her so much. And now she had nothing. She thought they were finally going to sort out their differences and put things in the past but Kane always had different intentions. What she didn't expect was it to hurt so much. It seemed like they were never meant to be, no matter how hard she tried. And it's high time she accepted that.
Overall Opinion : I have been going crazy over this book! Literally been counting months because that cliffhanger of the last book completely ruined me. I needed to see how the story progressed!
Kane and Letty have an amazing take that will stay with you forever. With kane being his usual Brody self who didn't know how to accept the word no, I can't say that I didn't love him lol. Scarlett had a bit of character development in this book and it was amazing to watch. Both of them finally got their happy ending and I am glad that they have it because they suffered too much!
Another thing about this book was a certain side character who pretty much made me lose my mind. I will admit that I didn't see that couple coming but holy shit, a couple of scenes and I am obsessed. I just hope that Tracy gives us their book! I will definitely go crazy otherwise. I am not above offering my firstborn or beg to convince her. I need that man (cough* Reid * cough) .
I will definitely recommend this to all the dark romance lovers out there. This trilogy had dubious themes and is an amazing trilogy that had me hooked right from the start so I would definitely recommend that you guys read this one! It's so crazy!
Madison Kings University The Mistakes You Make: Book 0.5 The Revenge You Seek: Book 1 The Deception You Weave: Book 2 The Betrayal You Serve: Book 3
Authour: Tracy Lorraine @tracy_lorraine_author
"He’s the bad boy. The one mothers warn their daughters to stay away from. But I’m like a moth to a fucking flame and fuck it if I get burned."
"She should have been yours all along"
"It's okay to miss something even if it never belonged to you. Even if it's just a memory."
"You look so fucking beautiful, Princess. So fucking beautiful and all fucking mine. You got that?"
I don't know why I waited so long to read this series because as usual I am blown away by reading Tracy's books.
Letty and Kane had a lot of work ahead of them to fight through their past traumas which haunted them both. The hate they had for each was so strong they couldn't see past it enough to notice that they meant so much more to each other than just hating each other. The journey from hate to love was a rocky one and I don't know how many times I asked myself " why do they keep doing this to each other?" "Why is everything stacked against them?" But of course, that's what makes the story of Letty and Kane just so exciting.
I also always love the side characters we get in any of Tracy's Books. The friendship that is more like a chosen family always makes me fall in love with her books even more. I can't get enough and I'm so glad I picked up the Madison Kings University series. I look forward to the next journey with our leading man and woman I have a feeling these books will get better and better as I read on.
The conclusion to Kane and Letty’s story was just as addicting as the first two books. This trilogy literally puts on a rollercoaster that doesn’t stop until the very end and I’m looking forward to more from this author
The conclusion to Letty & Kane's relationship. If you want to witness an unhealthy trainwreck then this series is for you.
Their relationship was a cycle of mind-fuckery. Kane, the control freak he is, would toy with Letty. Letty, the doormat heroine she is, easily submits to his sick pleasure. Kane abandons her after he gets his fix. Letty goes running back to the twins for comfort even though she knows Luca has feelings for her. There was absolutely no need to drag their story out to 3 books.
There is cheating . This solidified my distaste for Letty. After, Letty THOUGHT
There were also too many side characters to keep up with. EVERY side character's role was just to protect or comfort Letty because she's portrayed as some fragile doll after getting burned by Kane. UGH. There was barley an elaboration on Victor's gang activity and the pregnancy drama which is what I was really invested in!!!
I kept up with this series to see the two self destruct and their steam was on point.
Letty and Kane's story was just epic from the prequel to this book I loved it. From always being at each other's throat to bring broken to facing problems then this after the Cliffhanger of book 2 I was so so intrigued in knowing that what was going to happen and this book doesn't disappoint at all except for a thing or two otherwise it was amazing.
Letty and Kane were just so good together, I love their hot hot chemistry and all the desire they have for each other and we get to see Kane's other side the softer one it was just Everything... The Maddison Series was a just wonderful read for me...
Yes. Yes. Yes! This is Tracy Lorraine at her best! A rollercoaster of emotion in this last book of the MKU trilogy. Kane and Letty have the most volatile, yet incredibly steamy connection I've read in a while. You have to read the series in order, because you will not be ready for the goddamned twists and turns that kept me reading late into the night.
If you like your romances with super steam, unbridled passion, twisted secrets, a strong, feisty heroine, and an alpha male to rival them all, then you need to pick this series up!
I loved, loved, loved Kane... But... When can I have Reid's book? #NotAskingForAFriend
I’ve enjoyed the twists and turns of Letty and Kanes story. It isn’t pretty and full of hard grit. They don’t always get it right but no one is perfect, right?
One thing I’ve enjoyed about coming back for this series after reading future releases is seeing where everyone fits in. Tracy’s stories are cleverly crafted together and the creek is embedded into this tale.
Kanes life is anchored by the creek and the deals he made for his ticket out. Can he finally get free from his past and will Letty be able to ride the storm?
I liked the books in general, but the actions and how some things came about, disgusted me more. I don't have many things to say about this couple, just "immature". My opinion.... Maybe I'm judging wrong and the author is used to writing this type of plots. But I didn't like certain things that were simply unnecessary. I gave them all about three stars 🌟 because despite everything, they kept me completely engaged in reading and that says a lot... now, in the spicy part they definitely get a 10/10. Believe it or not, there are spicy scenes that simply don't make me want to read, but these do.
I see that this book continues on but I think that I can stop at 3. It was interesting reading about Kane and Scarlett (gees, I had to look at the book blurb to remember her name!). But their story ends with book 3 and then continues with the secondary characters. I have zero interest in them. I imagine that they'll be written as dangerous or edgy but considering how incredibly bland they were in the first 3 books I just can't get past it. My search continues...
I said I was going to carry on giving this series a chance and I did but somehow Letty and even Luca just annoyed me even more In this book.
Letty is such a hypocrite it's frustrating! This series isn't bad by any means, it's not written badly, the storyline isn't bad but I just can't get past the annoying characters, especially main characters.. and the fact that the series continues with Luca, I won't be carrying on
This trilogy by Tracy Lorraine has been a fantastic and crazy wild ride.
I have loved EVERY minute of it.
I'll add trigger warnings to the end of my review - be aware there are some heavy ones.
This book is NOT a standalone. It is the third and final installment in the first of the Maddison Kings University series, however Books 1 and 2 MUST be read in order prior to reading this book. If you haven't read the earlier books, my review may contain some spoilers given how the plot has advanced through the other two books.
The Betrayal You Serve picks up exactly where The Deception You Weave leaves us, however it moves from Kane's POV to Letty's pretty quickly.
This book reads and moves quickly. Ms. Lorraine doesn't let any of her characters rest much in this final installment. The only characters that fade to the back are Violet and the boys in the dorm apartment. They come forward when needed, but we really only see Ella in this book. Which is fine. She and Letty are the closest and it reads well with the story.
Letty runs from Kane and Alina to seek comfort with the Dunns. Not the best or brightest idea she's ever had, but Letty is running on sheer emotion without her brain kicking in. The Dunns have a lot on their own shoulders with their Dad's pressure on Luca, the football season, and the conflicting feelings both Luca and Leon have for Letty.
In her blind attempt to just forget her pain Letty and the twins make a dramatic mistake. One that leads to Luca pulling away from Letty and fighting with his twin. Letty's actions also rip Kane's heart from his chest. It takes the lot of them a bit a work through the fall out from a few hours of deceit, betrayal, and consequences.
At the end of the day though, it is what finally pushes Kane to confront Victor to pull himself out of the Hawks completely.
As with all gangs/mobs/illegal power struggles - you don't just get to walk away. When Kane goes missing for a meet up with Letty, she has to pull Micah and Reid in to help her find Luca. The scene they walk in on is less than pretty and more than likely fatal.
Extracting Kane from the Hawks comes with a lot of repercussions. Consequences that most 19 year olds would find themselves reeling from, but these young adults take straight on. I like the way the fallout and the handling of the situation are handled. It's brutal, but it is realistic.
Letty's mom is pulled in to assist with getting Kane's live sorted at MKU. Without Victor and his favors, Kane's admittance, scholarship, and football are all gone. Letty's mom Jada works hard with her mysterious contacts to figure out which strings they can pull and which strings they can snip to get Kane back in. Jada does have some good news for the kids though - Kane was able to be admitted for his own work. So even without Victor he has a real chance of readmittance to the University.
Another fallout from pulling from the Hawks is Kyle's house with Harley. Without income from Victor coming in, Kane can't afford to keep the cottage he has been renting for him and Kyle. Jada also steps in to help with this issue. With Zayn and Letty already at MKU, there is room in her house for Harley and Kyle.
This allows Kane and Letty to use the cottage as a safe house will Kane heals from Victor's physical beat down and work through the emotional trauma Kane and Letty have each caused themselves.
This is were our story remains dark. For all that things are looking up for our couple, they ARE still Kane and Letty from the Creek. They don't pull punches, they don't play fair, and when they strike- they strike deeply. Hearing that another woman could be carrying Kane's child sent Letty into an utter spiral. Her reaction to this spiral is one that many many people would take, but it's fallout is massive to Kane. She ran to two other men. He is struggling to come to terms with the fact that Letty has let other men close intimately both in physicality and emotionally. He works hard on trying to separate his anger from his reaction to her emotions. We see real growth and open communication from these two during this time. Not to say that the intimacy between them lets up on the brutal physicality of it, but they at least have real and meaningful conversations while sitting apart from one another.
Letty also begins to grow and change. She is beginning to realize that Kane has begun to put all of the past behind him - including his feelings over her part in Riley's death. Kane opens up about all that happened after Skye's party, her return to Columbia, and her eventual return to MKU. Letty quickly realizes that the boy in front of her has absorbed so many losses one on top of the other that he was never able to grieve. In his fight to keep he and his brother safe and alive, he couldn't sort through the immense losses he had taken to his heart. The only way he could make sense of it was to lash out. Kane has always had a pull to Letty which just pulled her into his circle for the punishment of his grief. They do begin to work through these issues as well. As would be realistic, this a slow and torturous process with back sliding on both partners' ends. This adds to the ebb and flow of the plot tension, but begins to ease up as we reach the end of the novel. I felt good leaving Letty and Kane where they finally fell.
Another casualty of Kane's defection are the Harris brothers. His personal effects from the house are unceremoniously dropped at the hospital for Letty to deal with once Kane is discharged. The boys let it be known that they felt his absence, but he wasn't allowed to stay. It was yet one more loss to Kane. He expected it, but now the only connection he has to what is going on is Reid. Who is still a mystery, covered in psychosis, wrapped in a mystery of intent.
Micah is the dark horse in all of this as he is still friends with Letty. He cares for her like a brother, but he is also still friends with Ellis, still involved in the Harris business in some manner via his father, and that is where it ends with Micah's story for now. I am absolutely itching for HIS story. I have so so so many theories on that one.
Leon is the surprise compromise in this final chapter of Letty and Kane. Lee finally admits to himself and Letty that whatever it was they had or didn't have in high school was physical only. He isn't attached to her like Kane is. Neither is Luca - but that may take a longer period of time for Luca to work out. At the end of Letty and Kane's story there was a slight co conspiratorship between Lee and Ella. Perhaps she'll get her Dunn twin in the end? For all that Ella is open about being a jersey chaser, I feel that this is just a shiny façade she puts on for the world. There is much much more to what makes Ella tick which will be another story I'll be impatiently waiting on.
Luca is the hardest nut to crack and one that remains a mystery up and through the end of the story. As the Dunns have mentioned through out the three novels, their ex-NFL father is breathing down Luca's neck. Luca is becoming incredibly more high strung and the tighter he winds, the more convinced he becomes that Letty is his savior from it all. Finding out about her past with Lee and then her forgiving and loving Kane is a massive blow to Luca. Coupled with a final losing season, and he is just an angry lost boy at sea in the world of the university. At the close of the novel, he and Letty aren't on speaking terms. Letty is keeping tabs on him via Lee, and even Lee is holding back on Letty. Luca is drowning and there doesn't seem to be anyone about to save him.
I can NOT wait for the next installment of the MKU universe. The character building, long plot arc, mysteries and side stories layered into the plot are fantastic. I have to keep reminding myself this is a new world, so there aren't any books yet to keep binging on.
This is and remains a bully romance. Both Letty and Kane use physical, emotional, and psychological weapons to lash out when confronted with too much in their lives. While we do see these two begin to come to a healthier middle ground, it is by far still a very dark romance and will remain that way. I wouldn't have it any other way. Please be advised that even in this HEA there are still shades of pain that are being worked through.
Triggers: partner abuse, emotional abuse, physical beatings, kidnapping, drug use, torture is implied but not written.
I understand that darker reads are not for all readers and triggers are imperative to know of prior to reading. Please take these triggers seriously prior to reading this book. Ms. Lorraine writes an entrenching tale, but it is not in any way a shiny fairytale.
And so we come to the final book in the trilogy that follows the story of Kane and Letty. BUT we don't just get deserted. We're left with one heck of a cliffhanger for the next book that follows Lucas and it looks to be another great read!!
But, as for Letty and Kane.... their path doesn't run smoothly, whether it be a misunderstanding between themselves or an outside source interfering.
We left the last book with the horror of the bombshell that Alana was pregnant with kanes baby. Naturally Letty is destroyed.
She's not thinking but she goes to the only people she leans on when she feels so bad... The twins. With the alcohol, the atmosphere and Lettys sudden need to feel worthy and loved, things escalate quickly....
Needless to say, once again, this sets the couple back further and has them speaking in hate sex and nothing else.
The second half of the book is a real turn around and I don't want to spoil it! Kane is trying to get out from the grips of Victor and the Hawks - something that only death has only been able to do before.... It also means the scholarship Victor paid for being withdrawn and no more football....
Its a battle of wills and who has the most to lose.... In kanes eyes tho... Letty is everything. He's giving everything up in the hopes she'll have him.....
This has been one hell of a roller-coaster!! I don't think I've met a couple so up and down and clash at the smallest thing!! Passion is great in a relationship, but when it comes out in the clashing and arguing side it raises tempers and stubbornness sky high! I've loved reading about them, and I look forward to reading about the twins. I wonder if her room mates will also get a story - micah in particular.
The next book follows Lucas. It's going to be interesting if we finally see what his thoughts were during this year with Letty have been as we really weren't let in!!
Bring it on Ms Lorraine!!!
I received a copy of the book in return for an honest review
The badder they are, the harder they fall..Kane is yummy, delicious and dark and oh, so bad...and his fall for Scarlett was extremely delightful to read!!
This entire trilogy has been emotional, full of twists and turns and certainly Tracy's best work to date. Kane Legend is her darkest bad boy, but in the end it only made the moment he stepped toward the light that much sweeter. I won't say he's a reformed saint, because honestly where is the fun in that, and Letty would never agree, but the end to this trilogy is everything worth reading the whole series for.
Letty and Kane fight for every scrap, every moment, and all of the happiness they truly deserve. Their road isn't easy, but whoever said a HEA had to be paved in sunshine and rainbows?
These two have been up and down, together and separately, trials and tribulations, loss and pain. There isn't much they can't survive, except maybe without each other. It's a true test if they can make it together after everything they've been through.
What's coming next...I'm soooooo excited!!!!! Keep MKU coming because this world just keeps getting better and better!!
After weaving the past into the present, the betrayal that is served between Letty and Kane, hits peak. The much-anticipated conclusion of Kane and Letty’s story—The Betrayal You Serve was all-consuming, possessive, and thrilling from start to finish!
“You terrified me, you excited me, you captivated me.” - Kane Legend
Overall, I absolutely loved, loved, loved this trilogy! And the supporting characters, such as the Dunn brothers remain my favorite hot alphas yet-to-be explored. Have to admit, I found myself intrigued by Reid’s dominion.🔥
“I've officially been owned, claimed, and ruined by a Legend.” - Letty Hunter
Can’t wait to see what happens with the next couple in Book 4 of the Maddison King’s University series, which is sure to sizzle! This dark bully romance series is definitely a top-choice, and I highly recommend.
I reviewed an ARC voluntarily, and look forward to future novels by the author.
**Trigger ⚠️: Sensitive subject matters are evident in this novel, including bullying and mature content. **
The Betrayal You Serve is an emotional rollercoaster, filled with secrets, deceit, and characters who are driven by both vengeance and love. The book delves into themes of trust, betrayal, and complicated relationships, and it certainly kept me hooked throughout. The suspense element was done well, and I found myself wanting to know more about the characters and their motivations with each chapter.
The relationship between the two main characters had some real tension and emotional weight to it. I liked how their bond developed, though it wasn’t always easy to watch. It was a bit of a slow burn, which I enjoy in certain books, but at times I wished the plot had picked up the pace just a little more. Some of the twists felt somewhat predictable, and there were moments where I saw where things were heading before they fully unfolded.
The writing is engaging, and Tracy Lorraine does a good job creating a dark and intense atmosphere. That said, I did find myself wishing for a bit more depth in the characters' growth, particularly in terms of how they handled their pasts and the betrayals they faced. The emotional stakes were high, but at times, they didn’t land as strongly as I hoped.
Overall, The Betrayal You Serve is an enjoyable read for fans of dark romance and suspense. While it didn’t leave a huge impact on me, it’s definitely a solid choice for those who like stories filled with tension, revenge, and complicated relationships.
Oh my stars! With a bang, this trilogy is done and I am blown away. There is so much heartache that happens in this book on so many levels. I honestly did not want it to end. That push and pull between Kane and Letty is beyond intense as they are trying to navigate that bomb that was dropped at the end of book two. I loved how much they finally worked things through. It was so raw and emotional it got aside from the intense kinky side of it. It was like they were battling to see how much pain they could cause each other at one point. But pain and love can go hand in hand. Oh does it ever for these two. With every little twist and turn and so much more, I could not get enough. I am honestly sad to leave this couple but at the same time, so stoked for what is to come with this series. That ending was a bombshell of omg and I am dying to get my hands on it! Lorraine created a unique and raw world of bully romance that leaves you begging for more!
The Betrayal You Serve will knock your socks off in the best possible way. I couldn't put it down and it elicited ALL the feels.
Scarlett was the perfect combination of strength, resilience and vulnerability. An excellent match for the stubborn facade that Kane was effortlessly aiming to maintain. Their chemistry was perfection and it took all I had in order to put the book down at any given point. I didn't want the story to end, because who knew when I would get those kind of delicious feels again. I laughed, cried, and wanted to throw thing. I was sucked in, and never wanted to leave. This book is devastatingly beautiful!
It will tug on your heartstrings, take a piece of your soul, and will have you begging for more!
The Betrayal You Serve is the finale of Letty (FMC) and Kane's trio of books. They both definitely had a turbulent and explosive relationship over the course of their three books with all the ups and downs in it. In this last book its no different. It goes out with a bang quite literally!! There was times throughout this series where i wanted to slap Kane silly for what he put Letty through but after a shaky start between them at the start of this book her seemed to grow up as a character. Which i loved. As did his relationship with Letty. It was cracking way to end Letty and Kane's book. I genuinely loved their books so much
