Return to Grace Valley, California, with the complete trilogy of this fan-favorite series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr.
Welcome to Grace Valley, California— where blood runs thicker…ties are stronger…and love is all the more sweet. Visitors to the town often remark about the valley’s peace and beauty—both of which are plentiful. Unlocked doors, front porches, pies cooling in the windows—this is country life at its finest. But visitors don’t always see what lies at the heart of a community. Or just beyond…
Deep in the Valley
The daughter of the town doctor, June Hudson left only to get her medical training, then returned home and followed in her father’s footsteps. Some might say she chose the easy, comfortable route…but June knows better. Her emergency room is wherever she’s needed—or wherever a patient finds her. She is always on call, her work is her life, and these people are her extended family. Which is a good thing, since this is a town where you should have picked your husband in the ninth grade. It’s not exactly the place to meet eligible men—until an undercover DEA agent suddenly starts appearing at all sorts of strange hours. Everybody has secrets down in the valley. Now June has one of her own.
Just Over the Mountain
In this peaceful community, it’s hard to keep a secret—but Dr. June Hudson has managed to keep one heck of a humdinger. Though visits from undercover DEA agent Jim Post are as clandestine as they are passionate, somehow it fits with her demanding schedule. But how can a secret lover compete with a flesh-and-blood heartthrob from her past? June’s old flame has just returned after twenty years—and he’s divorced. June is seriously rattled. So when the town’s most devoted wife takes buckshot to her husband and some human bones turn up in her aunt Myrna’s backyard, June is almost happy for the distraction. Sooner or later, love will have its way in Grace Valley. It always does.
Down by the River
People in town are beginning to notice the bloom in Dr. June Hudson’s cheeks—and the swell of her belly. Happily, DEA agent Jim Post is back in June’s arms for good, newly retired from undercover work and ready for new beginnings. And the community is overflowing with gossip right now. Who is the secret paramour June’s aunt Myrna is hiding? Does the town’s poker-playing pastor have too many aces up his sleeve? But when dangers, from man and nature, rise up with a vengeance to threaten June and the town, this community pulls together and shows what it’s made of. And Jim discovers the true meaning of happiness here in Grace there really is no place like home.

Grosse déception pour le dernier tome, trop moral chrétienne à mon goût ! Et puis, j’avoue adorer la ville et ses habitants moins l’héroïne, voir le couple auquel je n’ai pas cru.
I liked the whole series very much. It was sweet. I love how RC describes those little towns as places where people can help each other, love each other. NOwadays I really need some good feelings. RC is my little escapism. I love her books!
I love Robyn Carr’s books and these 3 stories about Grace Valley epitomizes why. The characters are friends with all the friendships, love and disagreements you find in those relationships.
One of the most enjoyable reads I’ve had recently. Each book was perfect on its own, but reading the 3 sequentially was wonderful. I need to check the rest of the series including those I’ve already read.
I have gotten lost in a little town called Grace Valley California for 3 while days. And what a wonderful time I had! The characters are as real as my own family, causing me to laugh, dry and worry for them all. I hope Ms. Carr decides to add on as I must know what happens with Erline and her little family! Thank you so much for having me in your town for such a wonderful visit!!!
These three books were about this wonderful town and it's citizens. Epically Dr. June and her Dad And Aunt the Novelists and all the people who lived in the town. I loved how each book continued with the same characters with some new ones. Some of the people had such hard times but everyone help each other. I think people will live reading this Authors book I know I did.
I have read all of the Virgin River books now this trilogy. Many times in the Virgin River books these people from Grace Valley are included. I may have to re-read the Virgin series again.
Even though I liked the blurb when I put this on my t0-read list in 2015, I was hesitant to read this because I was afraid it would be full of fluffy, silly romance. Although it has romance in it, the trilogy has much more meaty material to cover. It is about a woman who returned to her small home town in Northern California as the only full time doctor. Some of the interest is from her cases. Some excitement also comes from the encounters of her childhood friend, Tom, who is now the chief of police. The town is full of interesting characters equal to those found in Lake Woebegone. There is mystery, addiction, wife beating, rumors of angels, delinquency, celebrations, and friendship. Lurking in the woods beyond the town are marijuana growers and ex-military with PTSD. (People of northern Idaho, can you relate?) Can the town survive a womanizing preacher, vandalism, and a flood? Then there is the mystery man who brings a gunshot victim to June's clinic.
My subjective review: I listened to all three of the Grace Valley stories on audio and while the narrator does a really nice job with the tone and inflection, her females and especially male characters sound so much alike that unless she says so and so said, you don’t know who is speaking. I feel the major part of these series’ stories is that so much is repetitive if you read every single novel that it becomes tiresome and boring. Unfortunately, for a novel to stand alone, as Miss Carr wants them to, it becomes necessary to be repetitive for those readers who don’t read all the books in a series or reads them out of order. Personally, I feel it’s better to read every book in a series if you are interested in even one of them. I find that if I do read a novel out of Order, I am not as attached to previous characters. a day ago
Such a sweet and heartwarming series. A tear jerker for sure but what an uplifting series. Great characters and a realistic setting in the Mendocino area. Having spent quite a bit of time there in the past, I thought her depiction of the towns and residents was right on. Although if someone could find a place with that many kind, good hearted folks,I’ll move there tomorrow. Carr apparently writes lots of lovely books many of which would not be out of place on the Hallmark channel. Apparently, she also writes romances which I assume are more risqué than this series. She is a very competent writer. I did wonder about all of the “handsome” men in the first book of the series. Cheesh! I wanted to send her a Thesaurus. Couldn’t help wondering where all those guys were when I was there. Fortunately, she discontinued use of that adjective in books 2 and 3.
I read books 1 and 2 awhile ago, reread them and book 3 recently, Loved them! The characters were people you would want to meet, and Grace Valley a place you want to live. The characters were able to find themselves and make themselves a better person, just by living there. Definitely would suggest anyone to read this trilogy!
This is such a wonderful collection. Each character carefully and lovingly crafted for the reader to fall in love. From the eccentric Myrna to the heroic June and the members of their tight knit community,, they mAke you feel like a part of their little township. Their lives wrap around you like a warm blanket.
Have already read this trilogy and cant wait to do so again soon. Each book just keeps getting better and better. I read the first before there was a number 2 let alone a number 3...having all 3 together is the best!! Actually no...owning the trilogy would be the best, that's next on my agenda. My lotto dream is to own all of her books. Robyn Carr is still #1 in my books!!!
Enjoyed this book about everyday people. The book held my interest and I did not want to put it down. Robyn Carr is an excellent author and I would recommend her books to anyone, knowing they will enjoy the book.
This trilogy was good but there too many people at readers at once. It was hard to feel a connection with most of the town's citizens. Felt disconnected. Bring back the style of Virgin River and Thunder Bay, please!
Loved this series, following this town through the highest and lows that most people go through and seeing how the characters developed and learned to give and take.
These are the first three books from a wonderful series by Robyn Carr. You meet some wonderful, unique and interesting characters from the town in these books. Great plot and story line. I look forward to reading more books in this series to see how the lives of these characters progress. Quick reads and hard to put down. Wonderful!!
I love Robyn Carr's series and am always sad when I finish the last one. I loved all the quirky characters in the town. I don't read a lot of her stand alone books but will definitely be on the look out for her next series.
These three novels were written before the Virgin River series; and focus on people mentioned in some of the later VR novels. The elements that made VR successful are evident here.
I hah difficulty finishing this book. There was almost no excitement ot drama. I have read many of Robyn Carr’s books and this was the most disappointing.
It's the small town I wish to have grown up in or dream to yet find. Most of the characters are pleasant and helpful and kind. The stories flow along nicely and wrap up happily. To me it's the American dream!
Enjoyed all 3 books. Wish there were more. Just a small town story, but powerful underlying meaning. The book took me back to some things in my own life. College, children, friends, etc. Worth reading again and again, which I've done.
I’d already read Virgin River si I came kate to Grace Valley. I love the characters and the descriptions if the setting. It’s easy to read, engaging, and heartwarming!
This series had me at the first chapter . Robyn outdid herself on this series.. I couldn't put it down. Needless to say my housework went undone, and I have a ton of laundry waiting.
