EMP blasts started the apocalypse during Tom and his family's return flight home from vacation. Surviving the crash only caused them to confront the chaos of the apocalypse head-on. Even though they had survivor skills, and their ranch was set up to help them survive an apocalypse, the real apocalypse hits them hard. Tom has to break his grandfather’s rule about never bringing outsiders into their family survival group to help them meet the unforeseen challenges life throws at them. He quickly adapts with the help of the additional survivors to increase the group’s chance of surviving the end of the world, as he knew it.

A.J. Newman is the author of over 22 novels that have been published on Amazon. He was born and raised in a small town in the western part of Kentucky. His Dad taught him how to handle guns very early in life, and he and his best friend Mike spent summers shooting .22 rifles and fishing.
He read every book he could get his hands on and fell in love with science fiction. He graduated from USI with a degree in Chemistry and made a career working in manufacturing and logistics, but always fancied himself as an author.
He served six years in the Army National Guard in an armored unit and spent six years performing every function on M48 and M60 army tanks. This gave him a great respect for our veterans who lay their lives on the line to protect our country and freedoms.
He currently resides in Kentucky with his wife Patsy and their three tiny mop dogs, Sammy Cotton and Callie.

Ongoing issues in survivat
I gave this book 5 stars because the characters were facing many new issues following the apocalyptic event and developing solutions to those problems. I liked the constant action in the book . I never knew what was going.to happen next. What I did not like was all the killing that went on in the book. The main cha in this story were involved in it despite their desire to live in peace. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action packed stories where the main characters face moral issues.

Less killing and more prepping loved it!
This book held my I interest until the very end and left me wanting more. The characters were interesting and believable. Really liked getting insight into prepping and story not being a constant battle.

Great storyline l outstanding prepper knowledge shared. If I had a comment it would be that people seemed to heal awful fast, still a very good story. Waiting on book 3. HURRY

Excellent read
Really good read . Characters well thought out but use of all that heavy equipment little to hard to imagine esp, with a gang that close now thats real fiction. Way to much I'm a woman so I get to bash you from the guys partners. Real life they'd be all dead

I am going through a binge listen of A j Newman's books. Loving the journey - the main characters are conflicted between living in peace and having to kill.

It was alright, kinda cute, they had a drone, some typical issues. Though not many, and very little character development, and nothing spiritual or anything. Nice scenery.

It was another great read. Not as fast-paced as the first one but there's always something going on. There are a lot of characters though and I am getting confused about who is who. Other than that I'm ready to start on Preppers Betrayal.
