I admit I was drawn in by the title. I love grumpy guys. Love them. So I was a bit disappointed when there was no grumpy guy to be found. The main male character Kevin was a delight! He was happy and sweet and was often confused by the main female character Nadia. I was confused by Nadia as well. I absolutely loved her at first when she and Kevin met for the first time. The scene was so cute and steamy and funny. Loved it! Then she morphed into someone else. I definitely understand the need for conflict and conflict resolution in stories, but Nadia was the queen of misunderstandings. Anytime anything bad happened, she suspected Kevin was behind it. Why??? When Kevin had been nothing but sweet, funny, caring, hot, hardworking, playful, and wonderful to her.
Also, this was purported to be an enemies to lovers trope. They were never enemies. If anything, Nadia was the reason that there were miscommunications. She never wanted to open up to Kevin about anything and if she thought he did something that she didn’t like or that she would get upset about, she would ghost him and pout like a child.
I loved the playfulness between the main characters. The antagonist was someone you love to hate. I didn’t understand all of Nadia’s motivations for the things she did. There were some things that were alluded to have happened in the past that I didn’t fully understand.
Overall, I’m glad I read the story. I enjoyed it. There were just some things that bothered me.
* Dual POV
* Steamy scenes
