This series is a wonderful way to visit the wilds of Alaska with charismatic characters and wonderful storytelling that engages my heart every single time. Christie and Ian are total opposites at first glance but her outgoing and unpredictable demeanor is the perfect foil for the brilliant, dispassionate neurosurgeon. I loved his awkward attempts at flirting and her quirky personality though both have insecurities they need to work through. I loved the small town setting, the appearance of many characters I’ve grown to love and since I will never get to see Alaska in person this series is the next best thing to being there. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

I adored Chrissy and Ian. Polar opposites in everything, neither dreamed the other would become their true North. What started out as flirting, literally, turned into a heart-stopping realization they were in love with each other. What the what? How did that even happen?
Dr. Ian, after analyzation, would probably spout it being about endorphins, serotonin levels and other medically/scientifically ... whatcha-mathingies. That's one of the things Chrissy loved about him, his outspoken nerdiness, well that, and his complete attention to detail while exploring her body, and just everything about him, got in her heart. No territory left uncharted. There was ice-melting heat in here. Ian would never have believed he loved chaos, but only when it pertained to Chrissy. He honestly understood her, her brilliance, intellect, everything about her, and knew it wasn't truly chaotic, just exciting and energizing.
They each had issues formed by their pasts as do we all, but the journey here was all about discovery, and overcoming those issues, and doing it together was beautiful, and certainly eye-opening.
All the Lost Harborites stick together against adversity, and learn what is most important--life! Ian's nephew, Bo, along with Chrissy's dog, Shuri, were added enjoyment along this ride.
A stand alone, though part of a great series, I enjoyed this from beginning to HEA ending. An easy read, not too angsty, with lovely bits of humor.

I’m going to state upfront that I love me some nerds! Doesn’t matter what their nerdy expertise is – I’m a sucka for the person who is just a little bit out there, out of step with the rest of the world. I will also say that Ms. Bernard is a favorite author and while I knew I would love this story, I can’t believe how much I truly enjoyed it. Loved ALL the characters. I think I have a new favorite of her books.

First up: Chrissie Yates named her car. OMG, it made me laugh! The person who comes to her rescue (read the story; I can’t do it justice!) is Ian…well, actually, his nephew Bo is first but… Talk about a meet-cute. Chrissie has her dog Shuri with her and the four of them are off to a hilarious start.

To me, Chrissie, Ian AND Bo are all nerds, in their own way. All are extremely intelligent and because of that, and how they interact in the real world, they are treated much differently. I so enjoyed how Ian is Bo’s champion. To me, he understands how the world treats Bo and he doesn’t want him to suffer anything that he himself did as a child. SO touching.

Great story that gives these three – well, four if you count Shuri – a family. And strength to deal with their own pasts and futures. Really and truly loved this book.

Chrissie breaks down after travelling by car for thousands of miles about an hour from her destination. Ian, a neurosurgeon, and his nephew, Bo, give her a lift. She claims to be chaotic and messy, while Ian is organised and methodical, but he sees her vitality and asks her to teach him to flirt. As usual in a small town romance, there is a host of interesting supporting characters, but Chrissie and Ian are beautifully drawn and the subsequent development of their relationship is well-crafted. A little steamy in places, but a great story.

What a great story about how well two completely different people can be just right for each other. Ian and Chrissie are definitely a wonderful couple. This is a fun, flirty, laugh out loud read you can't put down. Quirkiness in the quirky town of Lost Harbor. A must read. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review

I like grumpy-sunshine romances, but this one didn't do it for me. The heroine keeps calling herself a hot mess (and she does that a lot - it's not self-deprecating, it's just irritating), and she seems to want to change that, but does nothing about it.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were slightly different but very appealing. Ian is super smart but has trouble connecting with women. Christie agrees to tutor him in flirting with women. Ian soon realizes he’s interested in Christie but that he needs to move slow or he’ll scare her off. This leads to unforgettable interactions, great dialogue & lots of laughs.

Returning to Lost Harbor is like coming home. Chrissie and Ian are total opposites. He's a neurosurgeon she's a very smart self-deprecating unemployed scatterbrain. While teaching the uptight Ian how to flirt they both start getting feelings for each other but of course neither will admit it. A fun read. You'll laugh, cry and swoon. Totally worth the read. I highly recommend it and the whole series!

I just didn’t feel this one. I never took to the hero. He was just so awkward. I enjoyed the heroine and her sense of humor. I thought she and the nephew were hilarious together. The nephew, though, acted more like a 12 year old than a 19 year old.

FLIRTING WITH FOREVER by Jennifer Bernard is the eighth book in her Lost Harbor, Alaska series. Eighth! And eight books in, the series is as fun and exciting as if it was book one. The only advantage is, if you have followed the series, you will revel in really getting to Ian Finnegan, meeting and getting to know Chrissie Yates and Bo, and revisiting the rest of the loveable and quirky characters that make up this wonderful town, while meeting new characters.
Ian, Lost Harbor’s part-time neurosurgeon, is extremely intelligent and socially awkward, especially when it comes to women. He has started his search for a partner, even going so far as to hire a matchmaker, but he is no good at flirting and misses cues. His matchmaker suggest he practice before meeting his next perfect match. When he and his nephew, Bo, rescue Chrissie on her way to Lost Harbor, she seems like the perfect person to teach him. Chrissie is returning to Lost Harbor for the first time since her Grandfather banished her, years ago. Since she left, she has spent her time trying to forget Lost Harbor and the pain of being banished by her beloved Grandfather and is only returning because he died and left her everything, something she is having a hard time understanding considering her banishment, which has obviously colored her life since, especially her perceptions of herself.
When Ian Finnegan and Bo rescuer her, it’s obvious that Ian and Bo are opposites, but there is obvious love and acceptance with the two of them. Chrissie isn’t planning to stay in Lost Harbor, but meeting the two of them, agreeing to help Ian, and reconnecting with her best friends as she tries to reconcile her memories of her life with her Grandfather combine to make her think twice. When things with Ian seem to take a turn, can Chrissie trust that he truly loves and understands her?
I love Chrissie and Ian, and I hope to see more of Bo in the future! With each new book in the Lost Harbor series, Bernard introduces us to a new couple that will win your heart with their road to each other. She also continues flesh out Lost Harbor and its inhabitants, as we revisit characters from previous stories, get to know peripheral characters better, and meet new characters. I would love to live in Lost Harbor surrounded by the quirky and loveable characters and the beautiful scenery Bernard has done such a wonderful job creating. It’s always a pleasure to return to Lost Harbor. If this is your first time in Lost Harbor, you won’t be lost, just sit back and enjoy the visit, then hurry back to the beginning to prolong your stay!
Thank you to the publisher for an advanced reader’s copy of this novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

Jennifer Bernard created another amazing story with Flirting With Forever, book eight in her Lost Harbor, Alaska series. This story has all the feels, a couple of misfits, a community of friends who care about each other like family, and of course love. Dr. Ian Finnegan grew up, not fitting up with his peers or family, with his off the charts intelligence. Ian knows everything there is about brains, but hearts and relationships, not so much. He has reached a point in his life, ready to find his perfect match; expecting them to be as logical and sensible as he is. When the matchmaker he hired suggests he improve his dating and flirtation skills, he’s not sure who he might find to help. Then he helps a damsel in distress from the side of a snowy Alaskan highway. Chrissie Yates might consider she’s a “hot mess”, but she is the perfect fun and flirty tutor Ian needs. Chrissie hasn’t returned to Lost Harbor since her eccentric recluse grandfather sent her away when she was seventeen. She has no idea why he left her his property upon his death. Chrissie’s plan is to get in and out as quickly as she can, but taking time to reconnect with her old friends, flying a medivac helicopter for the hospital, and partaking in flirting lessons with Ian make her yearn for a better and more fulfilled life. Ian realizes that he might have been wrong about the right woman for him as the flirting lessons with Chrissie become more passionate. They definitely have a connection and off the charts chemistry. As a deadly storm approaches Lost Harbor, threatening all, Chrissie and Ian will need to pull out all the stops to keep them together.

I loved Ian and Chrissie separately and together. Bookish and tightly strung Ian was not what or who he seemed. His love and acceptance of his flamboyant nephew showed a caring side to Ian. His stopping to pick up Chrissie and her yellow lab, saving her from a truck of randy teens, and playing along as her husband showed that he could be spontaneous and not a stick in the mud. Then there was Chrissie, homeschooled by her inventor grandfather, her support network of Lost Harbor girlfriends, the lack of confidence in herself after making some major mistakes in her life, yet becoming a strong, confident, and loving woman.

Ms. Bernard wrote an amazing, emotional, heartwarming, and magical story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with reconnecting friends, magnetic attraction, off the charts chemistry, amusing conversations, and endearing eccentric characters, helping Ian and Chrissie find a forever love. I highly recommend Flirting With Forever to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Dr Ian Finnegan is logical, sensible, and a little bit nerdy. He lives a structured life, but is ready to find his one true love. He’s methodical to a fault. He hires a “coach” of sorts that sets him up with his ideal mate. He doesn’t have a lot of time between his job and caring for his nephew, but he knows if he finds the “right one” she’ll understand. After picking up his nephew, Bo, they’re traveling down the highway when they come upon a woman stranded by the side of the road. It looks as if she may be in trouble, so he stops to offer a ride. That could just be the ride of a lifetime...

Chrissie’s car almost made it to Lost Harbor. While stranded on the side of the road, a group of men approach to offer a ride...and more. Much to her relief, another car stops and she pretends it’s her boyfriend coming to her rescue. She quickly gets her dog, her belongings, and hops into the stranger’s car. Chrissie and Bo hit it off immediately, but Ian thinks she’s a “hot mess”. He’s not entirely wrong. She left Lost Harbor after her eccentric grandfather kicked her out as a teen and has never been back. Her grandfather passed away, leaving her the dreaded duty of handling his property. While she cherished her time and friends in Lost Harbor, she dreads coming back to confront the painful memories.

Although Chrissie is fun, quirky, and lives life to the fullest, she is a little bit of a “mess”. Albeit a lovable one. When Chrissie offers to tutor Ian in the “ways to win a woman’s heart by flirting”, Ian accepts. The flirting lessons turn into so much more. But Ian refuses to believe the two of them could be a “match” as they are too different. But are they really...

The nerdy, professional guy gets the girl! I loved their talks, Chrissie’s independence and acceptance—especially of Bo. I enjoyed Chrissie’s journey down memory lane and how as an adult, she was able to see that her grandfather was trying to protect her. The lighthouse was an added special touch! I loved that Chrissie, aka hot mess, was an intelligent, strong willed woman. She was a flight medic! Bo’s flair for life and love for his Uncle Ian was adorable. Lastly, I loved the ending! Awesome addition to the Lost Harbor series! I can’t wait to read the next one. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

A fun, flirty return to Lost Harbor and the people I love in that small Alaskan town.

No matter how often I return, the people Lost Harbor always bring a smile to my face. This book in particular was extra light and Chrissie and Ian had great chemistry right from the get go making their interactions fun and always flirty.

While Ian always felt awkward around people, he found a great ease every time in the presence with Chrissie. Something about her easy going personality makes him light up and open up, something that he often struggled with on a personal level. Hence, his hiring a matchmaker to find the perfect woman for him and then going a step further, once he finds such an easy rapport with Chrissie, asking her to teach him how to flirt.

Upon returning to Lost Harbor, Chrissie finds a hero, well - thanks to Ian's adorably charming and spirited nephew, Bo - Ian rescues Chrissie from the side of the road when her car breaks down. Their chemistry is instant, but Chrissie has no plans to settle back down in Lost Harbor, so no matter how much Ian and Chrissie are attracted to one another neither make a move to act on it, but Chrissie agrees to help him and their friendship grows.

I absolutely adored their relationship and didn't mind that it was a slow burn. Ian's awkwardness was so adorable compared to Chrissie's cute chaos that their chemistry just flowed off the page. I really enjoyed his open and honest personality which made her relaxed and open up even more because of it. Between them there were no games which made their relationship blossom and grow and in turn also made both of them so likeable and their story was really refreshing to read.

Lastly, I loved how supportive Ian was of his nephew, Bo. Their relationship is one I wish more people had not only with their own relatives, but with the world in general. Bo is so magnetic and I loved him every time he popped up on the page. You'll also get visits from lots of old characters and some new ones as well. Lost Harbor is always a joy to return to.

A book has to catch my attention within the first chapter, if that. Flirting with Forever caught my attention with the first sentence. Another sweet and hilarious story from Jennifer Bernard. We immediately meet Chrissie Yates in Prince Valiant. She is heading to Alaska from Arizona with her dog Shuri. She grew up in Lost Harbor, mostly raised by her eccentric grandfather in his self-proclaimed independent territory of Yatesville, but hasn’t been back in 10 years since her grandfather kicked her out. Ian Flanigan, we met in a previous book. Ian meets Chrissie pretty quickly in the story and it’s hilarious. He and his nephew Bo, a wonderful young man we get to know as the story progresses, stop to help Chrissie who is stranded on the side of the road. If you remember from before, Ian is a neurosurgeon who is, well, a little inept in social situations, especially with women. He’s a brilliant surgeon but just can’t seem to connect with women but he has decided it’s time to meet the perfect woman and get married. Chrissie, of course, is the complete opposite of Ian and has had some bad experiences with men. She catches on to Ian and suggests she teach him to flirt. She says that’s what he needs to do to interest a woman. He quickly catches on, but as you can guess, he is attracted to Chrissie who is reluctant to get involved because she doesn’t trust her instincts. Chrissie and Ian, along with Bo and Shuri, connect while Chrissie reconnects with friends from the past. As always, we learn more about life in Alaska and various social issues of the day cleverly woven into one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read in a long while. Flirting with Forever is just a happy story. Sure, there are some tense moments but the action never lagged. If I hadn’t been in the middle of a big move, I would have finished the book in one sitting. Seriously, you have to read Flirting with Forever by Jennifer Bernard. It’s funny and sweet and captivating and worth every minute. I plan to read it a second time.

Behind the wheel of her beloved Buick Prince Valiant, her trusty furry sidekick Shuri riding shotgun, Chrysanthemum “Chrissie” Yates feels ready to take a run at her childhood home of Yatesville and slay the demons created when her grandfather banished her from there. But when the poor Prince chugs to a halt miles from Lost Harbor and the cold Alaska winds are howling, Chrissie wonders if returning home was really a good idea. Who would have thought her savior is none other than the brilliant, socially awkward neurosurgeon Ian Finnegan?
Pragmatic, logical Dr. Ian Finnegan has it all figured out – find a compatible companion and settle down. The best way to do that is to hire an old-fashioned matchmaker who can logically analyze his likes and wants and come up with the perfect candidate for the role. Yep, that’s Dr. Finnegan to a “T.” But Ian did not figure that “Chaos Chrissie” would land in his life and upend his plans.
Ok, I will be honest, I would not have thought it. Sure, Ian had been attracted to the quirky free-spirit Gretel Morrison previously, so maybe there was some foreshadowing as to Ian’s “type.” But I as got deeper into the book, I realized how much these two belonged together. Is this a story of opposites attracting? At first blush it seems that way. But in reality, it is the story of two beautiful souls finding their other half. Like blue and orange on the color wheel, these two complement each other to create the perfect bond and love.
Once again, I am in awe of how this author continually writes perfectly balanced stories that are well-plotted, humorous, emotional, and romantic, with a pinch of mystery and a nice amount of “steam” to thaw the Alaskan cold! Every book in the Lost Harbor series is A+. I am always tempted when I finish the latest one to proclaim it “the best one yet!” But that statement seems to apply to every book in this series – each story is just that fantastic of a journey!

I’m always excited when Jennifer Bernard releases a new book as I know it’s going to be fun and enjoyable. Flirting with Forever is the eighth book in Jennifer Bernard’s Lost Harbor series and it does not disappoint. This was a fun read from the beginning when Ian stops to help Chrissie and her dog after her car, Prince Valiant, breaks down miles from Lost Harbor, to the very end when Chrissie decides what she is going to do with Yatesville, the property she inherited from her late grandfather.

Ian is a neurosurgeon who is a little socially awkward but in an endearing way. Chrissie is considered a “hot mess,” but she definitely has a heart of gold. Ian is definitely the more practical think things out kind of guy while Chrissie is an act before thinking kind of gal. These two are polar opposites, but they definitely balance each other out.

Ian’s nephew, Bo, is a hoot and delightful addition. Matter of fact, I think he “stole the show” every time he appeared throughout the story. I definitely hope he gets his own storyline one day.

I love Jennifer Bernard’s writing as I always feel like I am right there in the story hanging out with them like an old friend. I also love that Ms. Bernard takes characters from her other books in the series and weaves them into the fabric of her current story. Even though characters appear from other storylines, Flirting with Forever can definitely be read as a standalone book. I think that seeing these other characters will definitely entice the reader to check out the other books in the series. I can’t wait for book nine in this captivating series.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars. I was given an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review that is my own opinion.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to leave an honest review. I have read the entire Lost Harbor series (except maybe one) and thoroughly enjoy them. They are sweet, romantic books sets in a small Alaskan town. There is always a little bit of drama or suspense thrown in but they typically follow the two main characters and their journey. Overall Bernard has a great writing style that is easy to follow and excellent plots.

This book follows Dr. Ian Finnegan, a neurosurgeon, and Chrissie Yates, a former resident who left at 17. Chrissie is on her way back to Lost Harbor after her grandfather passed and left her everything. She is torn by this since her grandpa kicked her out at 17 into the world and she has never been back. She has been a wandering soul since and dubbed Chrissie "Chaos". Ian is a phenomenal surgeon but is super literal, OCD and a brainiac. He has trouble in social situations so when he and his nephew pick Chrissie up on the side of the road after a breakdown, she is breath of fresh air. He enlists her to give him flirting lessons so that he can find his future wife.

As you can imagine, things don't go as planned. Chrissie can't decide if she is staying or going and Ian finds that Chrissie is the only one he can actually interpret and flirt with. They are not at all compatible but they are drawn to each other.

Overall not a huge amount of drama or suspense in this book but a very good romantic small town romance. I recommend the whole series if you want a nice, quick, cute read. All the residents are quirky and you will love them all.

Flirting with Forever by Jennifer Bernard is the eighth in her fabulous series set in Lost Harbor, Alaska, a small town on the edge of the fiercely beautiful wilderness.

Chrissie Yates is heading back to Lost Harbor to face her late grandfather's bequest when her ride gives up the ghost. Fortunately, rescue comes in the form of Dr. Ian Finnegan, neurosurgeon, and his nineteen-year-old nephew, Bo. While Ian's a brilliant doctor, his experience in matters of the heart is a little lacking, and his matchmaker suggests he brush up on his conversational and flirtation skills before she sends more candidates his way. The charming Chrissie agrees to lend a hand, and Ian and Chrissie discover that these flirting lessons have been far more effective than either expected...

Jennifer Bernard's characters are beautifully rendered and capture the nuances of the vulnerabilities and occasional snags in communication that every relationship faces. Ian and Chrissie discover that while on the surface a gifted brain surgeon and a footloose jill-of-all-trades may appear to share little in common, they both have a deep understanding of how it feels to be an outsider and what a precious gift true connections and friendships and love truly are.

I couldn't put Flirting with Forever down, and loved Chrissie and Ian's journey toward each other, as well as getting to catch up with some of the other wonderful folks living in Lost Harbor. Another one for the keeper shelf!

Book-Challenge 2021: Book 18

Ah, the lovely Lost Harbor, Alaska. You suck me in every. Single. Time. :D

Reading about Dr. Ian Finnegan warmed my heart. The brilliant neurosurgeon is a total nerd. And I love him for it. He's the A game in his profession, but so adorably clueless when it comes to personal interactions, be it flirting with someone or recognizing when someone flirts with him. He takes just about anything literal ... and it's pure cuteness.

Chrissi is a whirlwind. The funny, caring, witty jokester you want to have around all the time. She had some pretty rough times growing up and later on life was downright cruel to her at points, making her guard her tender heart a little more. But she never lost her spirit, or her lovely personality.

And together ... what should I say, they just worked and hit it off. They made sense to me right from the first time they met.

Special mention here to Shuri, who made me gush like font during snowmelt. Yes, I'm a dog person. :)

Flirting with Forever was another wonderful addition to the Lost Harbor-series and I'm really, really, really happy there will be another book coming (hopefully soon). Toni's story will be a blast ... she seems like she can handle a good Scotsman. ;)

P.S.: OMG, I can't believe I nearly forgot Bo, Ian's nephew. He's a sparkling delight, I loved him so much. He added so much to the story, I adore him.

What a sweet, wonderful, fun and flirty love story about two people who come to love and accept each other faults and all. When Chrissie first meets Ian, he seems like a bit of a stuffed shirt, but as we find out that is not the case at all. He’s awkward, brilliant and introverted, but definitely not stuck up. And while he may be nerdy and awkward with people, there is one place he is not awkward in the least. Just ask Chrissie. Chrissie is so sweet and sort of chaotic and seems like a bit of a free spirit. But there is so much more to her. In fact she is back in Lost Harbor on quite the emotional journey. So many things have happened to shape who she is and Ian wants to know all of them. She may be giving him flirting lessons but he will eventually teach her how to trust and love again. Her heart has been broken and being the doctor he is, he wants to fix it. They may be different in many ways but they are so perfect for each other on so many levels. They may be sweet, flirty and steamy together but they really balance each other out emotionally too. I love them together! Oh and I just love his nephew Bo so much too! Just be you, Bo!
And of course, Shuri! Can’t forget her. The story of how they meet melts my heart. Love this series! Love these characters! Love this story! I can’t wait for more from the beautiful town of Lost Harbor, Alaska. .

Bernard must have polished up her wit for this one because it sparkles brilliantly and had me laughing out loud within the first few pages. And if it weren’t for the cold, I’d be moving to Lost Harbor, AK, in a skinny minute because I’ve fallen in love with all of these characters. With a picturesque setting, a quirky small town and salty, colorful characters, Lost Harbor is a place that welcomes newcomers with open arms.

It's been years since Chrissie Yates left Lost Harbor, but she's headed back to settle her grandfather's estate. She doesn’t quite make is back before her trusty car breaks down, but neurosurgeon Ian Finnegan and his nephew Bo stop to help her. Ian and Chrissie seem about as opposite as two people can be, yet they can’t seem to stay away from each other.

Every book in this series has been great, but this one is extra special. What's not to love about an adorably socially awkward brainy nerd and a hot mess of a gal with a heart as big as the harbor? I adore everything about this book, with the perfect balance of humor, heat and heart. If you haven’t visited this inviting, endearing book world, you’re really missing out, so run to the 1-Click and make your escape today!

I loved this story. It was a bit like an episode of The Big Bang Theory!

Ian, brain surgeon extraordinaire, is thinking about settling down. He wants someone who is like him. Calm, cool, collected, and won't disrupt his very orderly life. He's even hired a match maker to do the work for him. He's relocating from Anchorage to Lost Harbor for the summer so his 19 year old nephew Bo can stay with him, learn some responsibility, and grow up!

Chrissie is a hot mess. It seems everything she does goes south. Never too terrible but just not how she thinks her life should go. She puts herself down, becoming her own comic relief. She left Lost Harbor when her grandfather kicked her out of his house. Now he's gone and has left everything to her. Who does that?

Ian needs to let go and go with the flow. Chrissie needs to make decisions and not leave everything to chance. When a storm causes a near tragedy, Ian and Chrissie realize they need to make some life changing choices.

The story moved quickly and we got to visit with many of the characters we've grown to love in Lost Harbor! This series is so much fun. Great story. Great writing. Keep them coming! I can't wait for my next visit to Lost Harbor, Alaska!

I have been reading a lot of rom com in the past year or so and I can safely say that Jennifer Bernard's Lost Harbor series is one of best out there! I love the characters in this quirky Alaskan town and Flirting with Forever was another great addition to the series! Crissie Yates was born and raised in Lost Harbor. She left her grandfather's home at 17 and never looked back. Now it is a decade later and her grandfather has passed away and left her his property named Yatesville and she is overwhelmed. Dr. Ian Finnegan spots a stranded motorist on the side of the rode while returning to Lost Harbor from picking up his nephew in Anchorage. He is immediately intrigued by this quirky blonde which is definitely outside of his cautious comfort zone. Flirting with Forever is a great opposites attract story set in this crazy fictional town. All of the supporting characters are so much fun and if you haven't read the other books I really do recommend reading them to get the most out of the series because we met Ian way back in Seduced by Snowfall and it was great for him to get a story. I laughed, teared up and fanned myself while reading this book. It was told from dual POV and I cannot wait for more to come in this series because I am not ready to leave Lost Harbor yet!

If you’re looking for a carefree book that just makes you want to keep reading the story from beginning to end this book is definitely the one for you. I love when you can just picture yourself in the middle of the book sitting amongst the characters.

As they say opposites attract. Chrissie Yates grew up in Lost Harbor but she was banished when she was 18 and hasn’t been back since. She is messy and is definitely not looking for love on her unexpected return to Lost Harbor. She favors fun, casual relationships and just wants to get in and out of Lost Harbor. Ian Finnegan is anything but messy. He is a neurosurgeon after all. That requires him to be on pointe pretty much all the time. His work has kept him from being a flirtatious heartthrob MD. He even has hired a matchmaker. He is looking for a solid, forever type relationship after all.

The two are thrown together in an unexpected encounter and from there how can they not try flirting with forever. Chrissie has agreed to be his flirting coach so what could go wrong? Throw in a small Alaskan fishing village, a dog, and some unexpected revelations and you find yourself in the middle of a story that will have you wanting to keep turning the pages to see what happens next.

I simply adored this book from beginning to the very last page. Just a quick note this book is part of a series so if you randomly stumbled upon it and like to know the back story of all the characters (like I am) you will probably want to start with Mine Until Moonshine but you definitely can read this as a stand alone and pick up the others later.

Another captivating story from Jennifer as she takes us back to Lost Harbor. Dr. Ian Finnegan may have lost his chance at love with Gretel but the newest arrival in town has him smiling and joking from day one. Chrissie Yates grew up in Lost Harbor but has been away for the past eleven years. After the death of her Grandfather, she returns to settle her inheritance. Ian comes to her rescue after her car, Prince Valiant, leaves her and her dog, Shuri, stranded. Chrissie is just what Ian needs to add light into his life. Her sparkling and captivating personality quickly catches his attention. Their relationship blossoms when he asks her to teach him how to flirt. The sparks between them are undeniable yet their insecurities tamper them down at times. Along the way of them finding their lasting happiness, you meet new characters and visit with old friends. Chrissie’s childhood friends are Toni, Maya and Jessica. Ian’s nephew, Bo, adds much laughter to the story. Then there is Old Crow, who is as a local salty. Weather you have read the other Lost Harbor books or not, this story is a must read!

Another Lost Harbor Gem!! I love this town and all the eccentric, quirky people that live in it. Even though we had not met Chrissie in previous books, she was mentioned and a Lost Harbor Native. You knew she was going to be fun with a long time friend of Maya, Toni, Jessica and Kate. Dr. Ian Finnegan has been around sporadically so we knew enough about him that he isn't knew to us. We always knew he was a good guy, so when he stopped to help Chrissie out when her car broke down on the side of the road it was no real surprise. The surprise was the super fun nephew, Bo, who was riding with him. I loved him from the start and he and Chrissie hit it off instantly. Which only helped the inevitable link between her and Ian.

I think these two are in my top three couples for Lost harbor so far. This book was so much fun. I loved Yatesville and all the inventions. The Lighthouse was an awesome addition and prefect for Lost Harbor. For as "uptight" as Ian can seem, he certainly needed a dose of Chrissie in his life to balance it out. These two worked so well together that I was happy there was not a major blowout for their rift they needed to work through in their relationship journey. It was a typical misunderstanding that happened for them which was perfect an in line with how their connection was going.

Couldn't put this one down. Another homerun for Jennifer Bernard!!

ARC for honest review with no compensation

Flirting with Forever is book 8 in the Lost Harbor, Alaska series by Jennifer Bernard and what a great addition.

We meet up again with Dr. Ian Finnegan, neurosurgeon who is now stationed at the Lost Harbor hospital. He has enlisted a matchmaker to help him find a perfect match that’s sensible, logical and has the same interests to share his life but he needs to improve his flirting skills..and hopes with the helps of the woman he rescues on the side of a snowy pass in Lost Harbor that will happen.

Chrissie Yates, hot mess, fun, flirty and has returned to Lost Harbor after her grandfather passes to find he left her all his worldly goods...even though he kicked her out and sent her to her mother 11 years ago. When her car breaks down near Lost Harbor, she is rescued by Ian and his nephew Bo.

What happens next is laughter, flirting, reconnecting with old friends, drama and so much more...can Ian and Chrissie discover that opposites attract and find their HEA together?

Dr. Ian is absolutely adorable. I love his "nerdy" way and how he has difficulty with understanding people... especially the flirting. Chrissie is a natural teacher and down to Earth. Her quirkiness is cute and irresistible for Ian. However, Bo, Ian's nineteen year old nephew with his unique charm, positivity and joie de vivre makes him my favorite.

These characters, as well as, the rest of Lost Harbor are always fun and unpredictable just like the weather. In this story, Ian is getting lessons from Chrissie how to flirt in order find a suitable partner in life to marry. Unexpectedly, for both of them, the time they spend to together becomes something much more. I love how Ian's inabililties make him fumble with his words and Chrissie's hot mess perception of herself makes her doubt anything good in her life. They are entertaining with the flirting and the banter and are steamy when their attraction can no longer be denied.

This is a terrific 5 star romance that I highly recommend.

I am always excited to read the stories set in Lost Harbor, Alaska because they are full of unique characters and interesting plots. This book did not disappoint me with Chrissie or Ian. I was amazed at Chrissie's knowlege and her ablility to fly a helicopter because it was so surprising from how I originally saw her character when she was driving to Alaska. It was also very interesting to learn about her Grandfather, who had kicked her out of his home when she was seventeen and now he had left his property to her. Her Grandfather sounded like such an eccentric character.

I also enjoyed nerdy, neurosurgeon, Ian whom Chrissie was giving flirting lessons. He had hired a matchmaker and the matchmaker said he needed to practice flirting. I think the lessons worked really well since it brought Chrissie and Ian together. I guess he did not need the matchmaker after all.

I am so glad that characters from previous books were also involved in this story. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Chrissie and Ian are total opposites. Chrissie is a chaotic mess while Ian is so organized he is the definition of OCD. But picking her up from the side of the road where her car broke down is the best decision Ian could have ever made. Ian has been in and out of this series for a while now and I'm thrilled he was spot lighted in this one. Hes been a mystery since no one can be that straight laced but his back story explains it all. Chrissie was raised in Lost Harbor but left and is now back to do something with her inheritance. Her memories are tied up in so much emotion, it takes her some time before she can handle it. Ian is her strenght to face what must be done. Thats the agreement they make when he asks for her help to learn to flirt. I adored Chrissie and her ablitiy to find humor in any situation. Its not always flattering for herself though and in that i see unease with herself. Her self worth has been shaken by her surroundings. Ian calls her out on it since he is so literal in many things. Its his honesty that makes him so lovable. The two of them together makes such a perfect combination. I love the friendship that Chrissie has rediscovered when she comes back. I loved Ian's nephew, Bo and how Ian embraces Bo's way of expression. I loved how these two became a couple.
