I don't want an apology for what he did. I want revenge.
Oh, yeah. I know all about Theo Durham.
They used to call him the king of the Hamptons. The prince of parties. Born with a silver spoon in that perfect mouth.
Me? I was born with a target on my back. A geek. A loser. The help.
So when those legendary Durham doors finally opened to me, I rushed inside like the pitiful, naïve thing I was—like a guest of honor at a banquet. Turns out, I was the pig. And I ran straight into the fire.
Now here I am, cleaning houses for rich pricks in the Hamptons. Again. But guess who just hired me as his new maid?
Guess who doesn’t even remember me, after all he did?
Seven years ago, I helped a wounded boy on a bathroom floor. In return, he took everything from me. I won’t make that mistake twice.
Over the next few weeks, Theo Durham will fall in love with me. Completely. Inescapably. So far gone, he can’t recognize himself anymore.
Then I’m going to shatter whatever he’s got in that chest, until I’ve left him every bit as broken as he once left me.
This fallen king brought me back into his palace.
I’m about to bring him to his knees.
Lost King is a standalone, full-length romance novel with steamy scenes, an HEA, and no cliffhanger. It is the third and final book in the Durham Boys series by Piper Lennox.
Piper Lennox is the author of New Adult and Contemporary romance novels Darling, All at Once (an Amazon Top 100 Bestseller), Fake Halo, The Midwife's Playlist, and more.
Her books have sexy and broken heroes, feisty heroines, and beautifully real, flawed people falling in out-of-this-world love. For all the tears, there's always laughter, irresistible heat...and, of course, a happily-ever-after worth melting over.
Piper lives in Virginia with her husband, kids, and a Siberian Husky way too smart for his own good. Before she spent her days writing about life and love, she wrote copy for insurance companies. And she will never, ever go back.
First book to be read by the author Piper Lennox. The plot was good, the synopsis is what drew me to this book, however it was kind of disappointing. The whole purpose of Ruby (heroine) getting revenge on Theo ( love interest) because he's the boy who hurt her when they were in high school. Now years later they met up again but Ruby is unrecognizable, so he thinks he's met a beautiful stranger. Ruby of course knows him , goes to seek revenge. However by like date 3 they're sleeping, and telling each other their greatest shames, and going on trips. All of this was good and gravy until the ex-boyfriend/former best friend spills the beans and now you see how they survive without each other. You see truths being revealed and their loved truly tested. I gave it 2 stars for it having some interesting moments. That's about it.
Theo is incredibly handsome and rich as Midas but he looks sullen. There are kids all drinking and having fun at his party but he looks so serious.
Ruby is the daughter of the cleaning lady. She helps her mother and watches every move the rich kids make. She wants to belong in their group. To be carefree and happy. Ruby has eyes only for Theo. When she is invited to a party at his house she feels like she has won the lottery! Page is the only one who has ever tried to be her friend. Page invited ruby to join the group. The party doesn’t go the way she hoped and her life is suddenly changed forever.
Ruby is in the hardware store and in walks Theo so many years later. Theo doesn’t recognize Ruby. Everything that happens for here on will be by Ruby’s design or will it? This story is very well written and flows fluidly into a work of art. This book is hard to put down and I loved it!
Manipulator, instigator, bully or just another victim Lost King (Durham Boys Book 3) by Piper Lennox is a very well written romance with characters that simply hooked me into their story. There is so much going on here! Theo and Ruby have way more in common that they think. As their story evolves, revelations of their pasts are shared and insights are gained. Even so, it becomes clear that two wrongs don’t make a right, but tell that to a broken and bitter heart. The plot of this romance is revenge for Ruby, who quickly begins to lose the stomach, fortitude and anger to continue. The antagonist tries their best to make Ruby as miserable as they are. And even though there is some success in that, it’s not long-lasting. Overall, this frenemies to lovers romance demonstrates how a deep-seated, burning hatred manipulated into existence is truly no match for the truth and love. Tons of emotional depth with all the feels; hate to love, lies to truth, downtrodden to justice, drifting to purpose, and ultimately, sadness to joy for a well deserved, perfectly imperfect and much needed HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "LOST KING". Well done PIPER LENNOX this was one terrific story full of emotional turmoil, intrigue, anger, revenge, misunderstandings, heartache, pain, love, redemption twists that make for a beautiful story. Ruby & Theo Durham met at a summer party at his place in the Hamptons he's known as the King, a real party boy she finds him injured in the bathroom & helps him but things turn bad for her he takes everything from her she not rich, she's a geek, a loser, but she was so happy to go to that party but as you kids can be cruel. Ruby gets hired by Theo to clean his place its 7yrs since that horrible party she wants her revenge so she plans to make him fall in love with then destroy him for what he did to her. Ruby & Theo the more time they spend together she has reservations about her revenge these are to people with alot of baggage & pain their journey is quite the rollercoaster ride so much happens. I definitely recommend to get this extremely well written book it's a beautiful story Theo & Ruby take you on so well worth the read I love it so will you its an amazing series you'll want to get for sure.
“So the man who had everything, really had nothing.”
What a perfect conclusion to the Durham Boys Books, by Piper Lennox. In this third book of the series, we get Ruby Paulsen, and Theo Durham's story. Ruby and Theo have a bit of history. One that changed the course of their lives. When Ruby finds herself in Theo's employ, cleaning his house, Ruby decides it's time she exacted her revenge on Theo. Not only is not all what it seems, but it's not that easy to HATE Theo. Kind of need that for an enemies-to-lovers, to work. It's also a bit of a small town, and opposites attract romance, as well. Fraught with misunderstanding s and imperfect, damaged characters, it's the kind o0f love story that you become infatuated with, from the first page. You can expect drama, angst, misunderstandings, secrets, mean-spirited characters, witty dialog, miscommunication, twists, and unexpected turns, sexual situations, love and romance. You'll be cheering on a well-deserved HEA for Ruby and Theo. I received this book as an ARC from Piper Lennox, and I volunteered this review.
“It’s real, and honest, and so damn good.” -Theo Durham
That line perfectly describes this book and it’s characters! Theo and Ruby have their own baggage and flaws. But what they become when they are together is beautiful!
This book felt so real and relevant. Teens can be cruel and often use the internet to bully or intimidate. I felt like there was something major that wasn’t being revealed in the beginning. When all was revealed, I was not only devastated for Ruby and what she had to go through, but I was heartbroken for Theo, too.
I initially didn’t want to like Theo after what I had believed he’d done. But he wore me down with every little bit of his story, until I was putty!
I loved that Wes and Van were a part of this story and we got to see how their relationships were progressing!

Theo’s early life was a lie that his mother blogged about until she left him and his father for her longtime lover. She would make up events, even a pregnancy, for likes. This is why Theo hates liars above everything else. When he meets Ruby, she seems familiar but he can’t really place her. He never dreams that she’s the girl that helped change the trajectory of his life years ago. But she’s not the person he thinks she is.
The trajectory of Ruby’s life was changed the same night. She went from wanting to be a part of the “in” crowd to wanting revenge on the boy that she thinks caused all of her problems, Theo. But is he really the one that caused all of her problems?
This is the third and final book in the Durham Boys Series. It's read as a standalone with no cliffhanger and an HEA. This is Theo Durham's story and is a full length book of revenge. Wow this book is hard to put down once you begin. The characters have a lot of depth. The book was emotional at times as Ruby and Theo take you on a roller coaster ride. The book has surprises and twist you aren't expecting but has a good ending with no cliffhanger. I enjoyed the other two books in the series. Piper Lennox is an excellent writer with great story lines and interesting characters. I read a free book via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
Dang I was not expecting all that and then some. I’ve loved this series since I first heard about it last summer. Piper grabbed me with Clara & Wes, held on with Juni & Van and squeezed tight with Ruby & Theo. I love how each book has twists you never even saw coming.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Piper. This series will stay with me for a lifetime and longer. If I could give Lost King more than five stars I’d do it without even blinking an eye. I can’t wait to see what you have for us fans next because I know it’s going to be fantastic. You rock girl!! 🖤🖤🖤
I loved Theo's book!! This whole series is amazing and each book will suck you in and make you fall in love with all the characters. Theo and Ruby have a past, but Theo is unaware of it. Their love story is filled with love, pain and redemption. All the characters are flawed but loveable. I am so sad this series has ended. It was beautiful and I loved living in the world of the Durham boys while it lasted.
Loved Lost King! Theo and Ruby have instant chemistry. I love how Piper Lennox based these characters around modern day issues...this one touches on cyber bullying and all the damage it can cause. Really well written story that keeps the pages turning. Super steamy love scenes I loved. Really enjoyed seeing further into the future with Wes and Van and their ladies as well. Loved this book and series. I will check out more of Piper Lennox!
This was a great read. It had me interested in it all the way through. Theo and Ruby makes a cute couple. He did her wrong and she tries to get at him but someone else does it instead which she regrets. This was one of the books once you start reading you don’t put it down, you have to see what happens. This is definitely a 5 star read. I would highly recommend this book
I enjoyed the realness of this story. Theo and Ruby were shaped by the one summer party when they were teens. When Ruby sees Theo again, a plan for revenge is hatched. However, unlike other revenge stories, I thought this one showed a wonderful progression as Ruby got to know Theo. It didn't feel rushed or forced, but there was a wonderful connection between the 2.
loved Theo and Ruby their relationship is very complex from the beginning to the end. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages and the storyline takes them and me on a roller coaster ride.
I received a copy and am voluntary leaving my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book but I had to take one star off because I didn't like the way Ruby was portrayed as being so much more at fault than Theo. Even before both of them had come clean with each other, Ruby was willing to forgive what she thought Theo had done to her but he was not willing to do the same.
Such a twist I was not expecting! So so good. This series is one of my favorite and will keep coming back to reread it over and over! I received an ARC for an honest review.

Another fantastic book from this author. As usual the characters a realistic and flawed, the story interesting and unique and the writing fantastic. Theo may be my favorite Durham boy yet.
Wow loved this book ! Complicated characters with past issues ( true to life ) that goes to show what you see on the outside is not the persons whole story .
