When Allie left the big city to return to her hometown of Sandemor, she knew that the excitement of the city was something she would miss. The cases, some horrific, would be something she wouldn't have to deal with in her sleepy hometown. The caseload, the hustle and bustle, fast paced city life would be left behind for a quieter simpler life, or so she thought. What she didn't expect was to reconnect with her old classmate and one-time crush, Ben. Even returning to raise her teenage niece was something she never thought would happen. But she really never expected a series of heinous murders that were escalating and becoming increasingly more violent and more personal. 'The One' needs to be stopped at all costs, which may be more than Allie is capable of, but definitely, more than willing to do.
So many suspects. Every time I suspected someone, I'd read 'The One's' words and try to connect them to a specific character. I'd try to put my suspect in their shoes, until they didn't fit and then I was on to the next. I still wasn't prepared for the truth. I was just as blindsided as Allie.
THIS SERIES WAS VERY INTERACTIVE FOR ME, THE PERFECT WHODUNIT ! STORYTELLING AT IT'S FINEST WITH CHARACTERS TO MATCH ! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SERIES ! ! ! AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ ! ! !

An end and a new beginning!

This series has had its ups and downs! Allie is a strong woman! It’s good to have a strong woman in her position! She’s a single woman taking on a teen niece when her sister is killed and working as a detective in a small town. Challenges come at her every day! And then there’s Ben. Growing up in that small town, they knew each other and never faced their feelings. So what now? What does the future hold?

Allie Down bad decisions

Why would she think Lo would be safe from
The One at home with a sick old man and nurse? Really stupid writing there.
