Being brave?

Valerie Browen doesn’t remember how to be brave, especially when she has an evil, corrupt aunt tracking her every movement, whose wealth and power extends across all the New Earth colonies.

Even worse?

Her aunt owns and runs an illegal brothel, where wealthy human women come to spend the night with an infamous Krave, highly desired alien lovers with certain—ahem—skills and non-human abilities between the sheets.

Worst of all?

Valerie’s in love with one of them and has been since the first moment she saw him. Dravka. With his opal eyes, dusky blue skin, and a wicked, secretive grin he saves just for her. Being with him makes her tremble with need and they’ve never even touched.

But with time suddenly running out between them, Valerie decides to give that bravery thing another shot…or else she might lose him forever.

Zoey Draven just doesn’t know how to write a bad book.

MAIN CHARACTER NAMES
Valerie | Dravka

SUMMARY
Valerie has worked at her abusive aunt’s brothel for five years. When leverage in the form of an arranged engagement to a wealthy man allows her to demand anything of her aunt, she negotiates the brothels disbandment and the Krave’s release.

From his own planet being destroyed to becoming an indentured sex worker, Dravka has endured a difficult life. His entire reason for continuing on is his dear friend, Valerie. He learns of her plan for their freedom, and one thing is certain: he will not be leaving without her.

REVIEW
This novel had the perfect amount of flashbacks—not too much to overtake the story, but enough to see key moments between the couple (e.g. when they met, when he tended to her, and when their friendship almost became more).

Valerie was an extremely sympathetic character, and I admired her strength. It’s not easy to go up against an abuser, especially when she tried (and failed) in the past.

Dravka was a sweetheart, although he didn’t really have the depth that other characters had. That being said, I love a male main character whose only personality is how much he loves the love interest, so…

At times, the story felt stagnant, and I think it’s because the plots were all reliant on each other to progress. For example, Valerie is arranged to marry a wealthy man, whose mother is a visitor of the brothel. Valerie and the Keriv’i couldn’t get the mother’s help without significant advancement of the engagement plot.

Obviously, the story should be cohesive (it was). The issue arises when the main plot—the romance—cannot develop because the leads are already established as being in love with each other, but they can’t be together for reasons, reasons whose resolutions are contingent on the subplots running their course.

That was gibberish, so what I’m trying to say is—the pacing was off.

This third installment of the Krave men was pretty good, although I have a question, which I'll address later.

Just like the previous couple, I liked Valerie and Dravka. It would have been cool if Valerie had developed a backbone a little earlier, but at least her quick thinking came to the rescue on several occasions throughout the read. And Dravka was a dream, just like his friend Khiva in the previous two books: Considerate, thoughtful, and great at kicking ass.
Note that with Dravka being a dream, there is another man in the story who is his exact opposite. Ugh.
I think the story could have benefited from fewer sex scenes towards the end; it was like the author crammed them all in for... reasons, I guess.

Now, on to my question... I just noticed that in reading this book along with the previous two, the brothel only had a few Krave guys working it? No other males? Even though these Krave dudes were sex machines, I couldn't see them working so much that they made the madam filthy rich. Granted, the bitch had all kinds of illegal side activites, but still... not very realistic.
I may read Tavak's story, which is next. As for Madame Allegria - Valerie's evil, greedy aunt - when is this bitch gon' die?
A weak 3 stars.

The setting of this book is not ideal.
The Hero is basically enslaved in a brothel by the heroine's aunt, who is a really cruel power hungry woman.
It is made a little easier to take by having no intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
At the start though the heroine can smell the cloying perfume of his previous client.
Some details of previous books in series.
Well written.
HEA.

I enjoy SciFi romance and have read a number of authors who write it and Zoey Draven is one of my favourites. She wrote a couple of books, Kraving Khiva and Prince of Firestones and although it seemed there would be more books coming, she came out with a new series and yes, I totally enjoying it. So this book seemed to pop out of nowhere and I was delighted and couldn’t pick it up fast enough.

The hero in this book is Dravka, a member of the ‘Krave’ race whose entire planet was destroyed. A few remaining members, including Dravka, were tricked into working at a brothel where they are treated horribly.

Valerie is the heroine and she and Dravka have loved each other for a while now. She is the niece of the sadistic owner of the brother and they have had to keep their feeling for each other secret. They had a chance to escape in the first book but didn’t take it but now things are worse. Her evil aunt has plans to marry Valerie to a horrid man and the time is now for Dravka, Valerie and two other Krave being held prisoner to escape this nightmare of a life they are living.
While I enjoyed this book, I preferred the first two more. The author has plans for at least one more with the other two Krave and I’ve already pre-ordered it. Warning, these books are spicy to the max and had me almost blushing in a few places even though I live by myself.

I don’t really recall the first in this series... but I really like this author, so I’ll start this one anyways.

It took me a little bit to remember the world and concept. And I’m not a huge fan of friends to lovers.

So 2 stars for this one. I always feel like I’m missing something in friends to lovers. It’s a personal thing.

After much anticipation...

So glad to finally have the next story in this series! I waited and waited and waited and waited...not so patiently.

Valerie and Dravka had a bumpy road on the path of their relationship, but it was so beautiful to watch it unfold!

Also very pleasing was watching a certain someone get their comeuppance. 😈

Kraving Dravka is the third book in The Krave of Everton series and is a quick, fun read with lots of steam and spice. I don't mind reading these alien, human, fated mates tropes because they are sci-fi, and anything goes. It is quite a nice distraction from normal life for a few hours, especially if it is Zoey Draven. Her writing style is easy and inviting.

Re-reading this series again because apparently I didn't leave a review the first time.

"If he wanted to have a life with her- if he wanted to build her a home on a peaceful colony, if he wanted to build her her garden, and give her the children he knew she craved- then the needed to fight for it."

Book two in this Krave series starts on Everton, a few months after the end of book one. Dravka and Vivienne had decided to stay on the New Earth colony- Vivienne knew that her aunt, Madame Allegria, would never let her leave, and Dravka couldn't leave without her.

When Madame Allegria drops the news that she is forcing Vivienne to marry for her own purposes, the clock starts ticking down on the Krave to figure out a way off the colony. Of course Vivienne and Dravka spend most of the time trying to save the other, instead of just working together, but the angst was definitely high

There were a few flashbacks throughout this one, as Vivienne came to work at the brothel about five years before the start of this book. Her and Dravka became good friends, and both had unspoken feelings for each other. Nothing every happened between them, but the tension was always simmering.

Zoey Draven has no care for my TBR books because I can't stop reading Draven's books. I have yet to read a bad or disappointing book from Draven. And this one delivered! The tension! The yearning! I can't get enough.

⭐️ Friends to lovers done well! Valerie and Dravka were adorable.
⭐️ Valerie! Loved her intelligence and bravery (a little bit of a martyr complex but...)
⭐️ Dravka loved Valerie so much 😭Draven perfectly writes love interests that fall in love first.
⭐️ The sizzling hot chemistry. Even before they ever touched it was 🥵🔥🔥
⭐️ The delicious angst (that stems from a realistic reason, not pointless drama!)
⭐️ The plot! There was a solid plot! Not perfect but there was plot.
⭐️ The villain was a truly horrible villain with a realistic origin story

⛔️ There were too many convenient and lucky coincidences that made things a little too easy. I didn't feel that Valerie and Dravka worked that hard for their happy ending (minus the emotional drama) because there were no insurmountable obstacles or any twists in their plans.
⛔️ Valerie was a bit too eager to sacrifice herself for Dravka... The woe-is-me got a little tiring.

I am surprised once again, but Zoey Draven continues to prove that she knows how to write romance even when set in sci-fi settings. This is so not my genre and yet she somehow manages to reel me in.

(I did skip book two which is a continuation of book 1 and I was able to enjoy this book/book 3 just fine).

This one was quite a straightforward book, very easy to read. I didn't read the first two books but I didn't really like how the story in this one unraveled. It has the secret-keeping trope and Valerie was always idiotically self-sacrificing when she didn't need to be.

Valerie was Madam Allegria's niece. Her mom died 5 years ago, and she was placed in her aunt's care since then, working in her aunt's brothel of Keriv'i males as the receptionist. The Keriv'i males were well-known for their special semen, so they're highly sought after by females of all species. Their planet burned to the ground though so they had to get by with selling their bodies.

From the first time Val and Dravka met, they immediately fell in love. There were key flashbacks of their interactions from years back that I thought were really nice to read. Val apparently had found evidence that her aunt hadn't been paying the guys as they were promised and tried to take it up against a council member. But it backfired and she was whipped by her aunt. Dravka had to seal off her wounds and I wished there was a long flashback scene with lots of emotional angst for that one. I don't know if that plot point had already been explored in the first book though.

The book told us that the couple, Eve and Khiva, in the first book offered them to escape with them but they refused. The guys refused because they prefer the evil they knew rather than the uncertainty of having a roof over their heads after the escape. Valerie refused because she had a tracker on her shoulder, which she didn't tell anyone until the very last minute. I don't get why the guys didn't get a tracker--especially with how often the aunt was away, they could just escape whenever they wanted too lol.

Val's aunt suddenly arranged her to marry Gabriel, heir of this import export business. The aunt wanted in just for the prestige of marrying into that family I guess. The aunt also had blackmail over Gabriel's mom, Celine, who had been visiting the brothel. The disgusting part was that Gabriel only agreed because Val looked so much like her aunt. Val also walked in on him and her aunt screwing each other, ew. With the blackmail the aunt had, she should've just married Gabriel herself what instead of gaining influence through Val. I get the aunt not wanting to be tied down but it's not like Val was ever loyal to her.

Val striked a deal with her aunt, that she would play along and get married if the aunt would shut down the brothel and let the guys go. The aunt agreed just to appease Val. When the aunt was away on her numerous outings, Val got to work, selling Eve's house that she left to her to get the credits she needed to get the guys out.

Dravka discovered her engagement through the tabloids and was pissed. I love how jealous and protective he could get. He swore that he'd get all of them out, including Val, especially after having heard that Eve and Khiva was doing really good out there. I loved that they got her engagement news discovered from the beginning but I hate how Valerie was agreeing with him just to ageee and was doing the 'poor me' thing because she thought she could never leave. I don't understand why she never told him about the tracker like just spit it out.

Dravka began working a plan with the guys. They had one of the guys get the aunt's accounting data as evidence of their exploitation and hand it off to Gabriel's mom when she was visiting as a client. The mom, Celine, cared about the alien she was seeing and also didn't want Val's aunt near her family, so she provided them with a private jet to a transfer hub. After Celine left though, Gabriel appeared at the brother for some reason and saw his mom leaving. He demanded answers from Val and punched her. Dravka saw that and f-ed him up into a bloody pulp. They knew they had to leave right then before Celine knew about her kid almost dying.

Even right before they got the plane, Val refused to tell Dravka why she couldn't go. After some coaxing, she finally said that she had a tracker on her shoulder. Now, how hard was that? They boarded the plane and worked on getting the tracker to stop working on board. However, because of Val's secret-keeping, her tracker's last location was obviously Celine's private hangar, so her aunt got to bribe the pilot to tell her where they were.

After a night of passionate sex, Val saw her aunt lurking and decided to confront her aunt, on her own, again 🤦‍♀️. The guys became suspicious though so they busted in and helped her take the aunt down. Val jabbed a sedative into the aunt and they made a beeline for their plane to a neutral zone planet.

They successfully settled in with Eve and Khiva, with Val doing gardening experiments and selling her stuff to the market, and Dravka being the import-exports trade guy for Khiva's firestone business.

Overall, would've loved the book more if Valerie would just spit it out. The fake angst wasn't hitting and it was a bit annoying. Loved Dravka and his possessiveness though.

Valerie and Dravka’s story returns this series to new earth where Dravka and the other Kraves are still trapped in an exploitative sexual trafficking situation with Valerie’s aunt. Valerie herself has been abused to the point of fear of taking action but is willing to sacrifice herself for the Krave she has loved for years, Dravka. Dravka on his part is unwilling to let Valerie make any more sacrifices for them and has come to the realization that he cannot exist as an exploited being any longer.

I liked the story overall. It does contain lots of potential triggers around sex trafficking and exploitation, physical and emotional abuse as well as cruelty. A good amount of these things are on page so be mindful in approaching this series. I liked the development and revelation (past and present) of Valerie and Dravka’s relationship. If anything , I found that Dravka’s hesitation with Valerie at the beginning of this book had no point and seemed for no reason, lasting for just a couple of pages where in the subsequent scene, he was back to being obsessed with her. Moreover the existence of the tracker in Valerie’s shoulder bothered me especially with how frequently she was going to Evelyn’s house. I didn’t really get the complexity the author was trying to show with the Aunty. It felt a little too unbalanced to me, and like a very deliberate attempt to not make the Aunt all bad- which would have been quite interesting, but then nothing was really done with that character development- the Aunt was still a wicked cartoon villain. I did enjoy this and the side characters overall and look forward to the other two Kraves’ books.

This was an interesting book, I enjoyed the characters and the parts they played in the storyline. Valerie’s mother had died and her mother’s sister /auntie has taken her in and brought her to Everton to work for her in her Brothel as the secretary booking the clients and making sure everyone customer is happy when they leave. It all about money to her aunt and she doesn’t care about anything else and if you cross her you are whipped very badly as valerie found out. Her biggest moneymaker are the 3 Krave men that have a special seed that makes women of all races go wild with pleasure but they are stuck there and can’t leave because she doesn’t pay they properly. And now Madame Allegria or her auntie wants her to marry a son to a rich family and that’s when Valerie fights back with a plan to save them especially Dravka who she has loved since they meet 5yrs ago and with him there is Tavak and his brother Ravu who have always been kind to her. With all her plans falling into place they make there way to a private spaceship that will take them all away from her auntie and Everton for good but Valerie has a secret that nobody knows and that’s what keeps her here under her aunts control but Dravka will not leave without her and then her secret is revealed and a plan is made. Can they have the freedom and the future they all so desperately want.or will her Auntie destroy it all.

Oh my, another excellent addition to this series. Dravka was one of the Keriv’i that we were introduced to in the first book, Kraving Khiva. He’s still at the brothel and is beginning to regret not leaving with Khiva, and now feels like there’s no way out for him. He is in love with Natalie, who works at the brothel. She is the niece of the cruel Madame that owns the place. Through an arranged marriage, Natalie finally is in a position of power over her evil aunt. And she intends to use it. She wants to get the 3 of the Keriv’i out of there and into a situation where they can finally live a meaningful life.

I loved both of the main characters. Natalie, because she finally finds her inner strength and goes up against her aunt, and Dravka for daring to believe that he is a person of worth and dream that he can have a future with Natalie. There was some kleenex involved for some very toughing parts, and a very satisfying (and well deserved) HEA. I reread quite a few passages just because. So much emotion in this book. We also have a cameo by Evelyn, from the previous 2 books. It felt like touching base with an old friend.

I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole.

It wasn't a bad book. My main issue was that it wasn't entertaining either. Everything felt stagnant.

The MC doesn't have a personality beyond being in love with the FC. A thing that doesn't usually bother me, but because there wasn't another interesting plot point in the whole book (besides him fighting with himself over the FC and wanting to leave the place they were at), I felt his POV dragged the whole thing. He just wasn't interesting enough.

I felt like the story could have benefited from more drama. There was potential while living under the same roof with the main villain of the previous book. However, almost all possibilities flew out of the window once the FM strikes a deal with her aunt within the first couple of chapters. A deal that changed the whole dynamic among all characters and made things too easy and tame. Everything became predictable and repetitive after that 😬

This is the third book in the Krave of Everton series and this is Dravka and Valerie’s story.

Dravka hates working in a brothel but the only bright side is Valerie.

Valerie unfortunately is forced to live with her cruel aunt who fiercely runs this brothel. While Dravka and Valerie have been close friends for years, they can’t seem to escape their forbidden attraction that is becoming harder to hide. When they finally acknowledged their feelings, her aunt has other plans for her, which includes an arranged marriage.

Can Dravka prevent this and escape this life with Valerie in tow? Hmmm ...

This book had my favorite, sexy alien, and a HEA.

I can’t wait for Zoey Draven’s next book.

I have read this as an ARC and this is my honest review!

Loved it to the stars and beyond ❤️

The Everton series is one of my top favourite reads of all time. Ever since I read Khiva's story, I was anxious to find out what happens to the Krave left on Everton. This highly anticipated book was everything I hoped for & I enjoyed reading this one tremendously. All the Krave deserve to have an end to all their years of suffering and degradation. Dravka and Valerie truly deserve their happily ever after after the years of torment they suffered at the hands of Madam Allegria. Can't wait to see her finally pay for all her heinous crimes. This book is filled with everything from the delicious, explosive chemistry and sweet, pure love between two souls irreversibly entwined to heartbreak, sacrifice and kick-ass action.

I’m obsessed with this series centered around an elite brothel service, exploiting these alien, alphas with magical
jizz, and the heroines that are hellbent on saving them.

This is a friends to lovers where Valerie has stood by silently, observing the grave reality of what happens behind the scenes as her evil aunts receptionist. At the beginning of this book, she is arranged to be married, in order to create more political protections on her aunts exploitation. This Sparks drops Dravka’s possessiveness, and she learns very quickly that the pining has been mutual.

I loved the caveman level possessiveness, and reading. Valerie get to protect him in return. The first book in the series remains my favorite, but I’m definitely obsessed and will be continuing.

After reading the first book, I knew I had to read Valerie and Dravka's story, because even in the first novel, it was drenched in some good ol' angst. And Zoey Draven delivers! I swear, she actually has a hit rate of 90% when it comes to making me cry, and this was no exception.

The amount of pain that Valerie experiences when she prepares to sacrifice her future to secure his, and the amount of hopelessness that Dravka feels in return... utter perfection.

The only qualms I have with this book is that

While this is the third story in the Krave of Everton series, it can be read as a standalone. References are made to prior stories, however, enough background is given to follow easily.

This is a beautiful love story between Dravka and Valerie who have known one another for five years...a long time for wanting each other but forbidden because of Valerie’s cruel aunt. While it was especially difficult to read a story of such cruelty in a time like now, the love Dravka and Valerie have shined through all of the misery they had to overcome. And...they do have a wonderful HEA!

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.

2.5 Probably DNF

I’m at 30% and there is still so much dragging exposition happening. Like the first two in the series, the heroes are not alpha at all, and since all the main characters are so weak, it makes for a very uninspiring read.

I can’t root for the H because he’s a wimp. I can’t root for the h because she’s a wimp. The villain is not even convincingly scary enough to warrant their fear of her. It’s just two people feeling sorry for themselves which makes their romance sad and uninteresting. There is no passion.

They are both so cowed there’s no room for whatever intimacy that’s being pushed into the story.

A very delightful, sweet escape read. They finally made it out of Everton and that red bitch. Yes, I call her that. Seeing her going down was very satisfying indeed. Though, I was very intrigued to see Val interact with her. It appears to have something between them despite the bloodlines, hatred, and credits. Hence why that red bitch couldn't let Valerie go.
All in all, the romance is a hard 4 as I couldn't ever get enough of Keriv'i alphas. Tavak's book will be next and I couldn't be more excited.

Not bad. I didnt enjoy this one as much as Eve's story. It lacked as much drama to me. I dont know why, but for some reason Val and Dravka's story was just a touch more predictable and boring. I still enjoyed the characters, but not so much their story. But thats just me being a prude. I still love Zoey Draven, and I would easily recommend any book by her. They're not overly drowned in smut, the characters are real and relatable, her writing is good, and her storytelling is decent, if not bordering on predictable most times.

Still a good book. 3 stars.

Ms. Zoey Draven, I've given you grief for (what I perceive as) your unlikable heroines in the Luxirian series, but the Krave series is totally my mood. Amazing writing. Seriously some of the best writing I've ever encountered in erotica: it's like I'm watching a movie, that's how real it feels what you make me visualize, and on top of that, I can sense that it's very, very heartfelt. *chef's kiss*

So good!

The rest of the Krave on Everton as well as Valerie make their escape from the clutches of their horrible employer finally.

Valerie and Dravka finally give into each other after pining over each other for 5 years but never having previously crossed that line. It’s beautiful. Their love for each other is everything and it’s really so heartwarming to read.

I loved seeing into Tavak and Ravu’s characterisation and I really can’t wait for Tavak’s book.
