No Touch Zone by G.K Brady is a fantastic story about single dad and goalie Mac, who is traded from Philly to Denver, a while after losing his wife to cancer. He meets real estate agent Mia, and so begins their slow burn, friends to lovers, second chance, he falls first, spicy romance. This was a witty, sexy, and emotional roller coaster, and I loved every second! There was so much packed into this book, but I don’t want to give anything away! I really enjoyed the narration by Ryan Lee Dunlap and Aubrey Vincent, and thought they both added personality and emotion to the characters. I highly recommend, especially in audio!

Mac is a single dad, and he’s recently moved to Denver because he got a position as a backup goaltender. It’s a fresh start for him after everything he had been going through. And when he goes to a bar, he meets a young woman, Mia, who instantly catches his eye. It turns out, she’s the one who’s helping him find a house, so they’re constantly together.
Mac and Mia had both gone through so much before they met each other. And they’re both still dealing with the aftermath of it. But they help each other get through and past all their demons. Well, it takes Mac a hot minute to get his head on right. But in the end, after something traumatic happens, he realizes what’s important.
This was cute, angsty, and emotional. It was my first GK Brady book, and I enjoyed it.

They did a great job on bringing the story to life. I didn’t love Ryan’s child voice, but it wasn’t bad.

This was such a fun listen! Mac & Mia had such amazing chemistry together, I enjoyed the build up and banter.
I loved how family oriented they both were, both their families were so important and played a big role in their lives. There were plenty of distractions and hurdles they both had to face. This was an emotional and intense story and I really enjoyed listening. Both narrators did such a wonderful job, they really brought the characters to life and gave them personality.
Both Ryan Lee Dunlap, and Aubrey Vincent did such a fantastic job bringing G.K. Brady’s story to life and giving all of the characters that touch of extra depth only a good narrator can do.

Lord love a duck … and NTZ

Well, the next Playmakers audio has arrived and it is another fine addition to the series. This time Brady’s story is about new-to-the-team (and widowed single dad), Mac who meets his match in Mia, the property manager helping him find a rental for him, his kids, and his formidable mother-in-law. And while the fact that Mac is new to the Blizzard cuts down on some of the secondary character interactions and found family vibes which I’ve loved throughout previous books, there are the start of some bonds that might play out going forward.
The strongest element is the two MCs. Mac and Mia are great together from the start, despite some resistance on both their parts - especially Mia. Mac is slightly goofy and a bit off his game at first, but that just makes him all the more endearing. Mia is going through it as this book starts, but she has such steely compassion and the urge to make everything right for those she loves. These are just two likable MCs with an undeniable connection even before they really know each other and it only grows more compelling throughout. I just kept wanting to follow their journey towards each other.
The aspect of this book that was a minor let down for me is similar to previous books - with multiple subplots, some conflicts get more room to develop than others. As a result, some felt under-cooked and a lot of the resolution was achieved through telling rather than showing. I’d prefer fewer, more well-developed conflicts rather than multiple road-bumps that feel a bit thrown in to manufacture a separation that lasts a few pages and then is waved away. Still, Mia and Mac are wonderful characters and I enjoyed their romance regardless.
The audiobook is another fine installment. Ryan Lee Dunlop and Aubrey Vincent return (they also narrated Book 3 - Gage & Lily) and are just a good in this time around. Mac has some adorkably awkward moments and Dunlop just nails them. But he also plays the more serious moments just as well. Vincent also brought a great balance to Mia’s varied moments - whether struggling to deal with her family’s troubles, or her lighter interactions with Mac. Both performances were compelling and the narrators a great fit for their characters which made for a positive listening experience.
Overall, this is another recommendation for its solid core love story and spot on audio performances.

Dana's starting over after having been traded. He's a widower and a single dad to two young children, and he's ready to try out his ladykiller skills. He picked the wrong woman to try them out on, though, because realtor Mia is not about to give a hockey player the time of day beyond finding he and his kids a new home. No matter he's sweet and charming and gorgeous to boot. But, she's no match for Dana and his grin, and soon they're having fun. Will that fun ever become something more serious? Not if his mother in law has anything to say about it...
Mac and Mia are such an adorable couple, especially with his two kids. She's strong and compassionate, taking care of everyone else before herself. It's a good thing she found the man who just wants to take care of her, all while knowing she's more than capable of doing it on her own. If this is how all the stories in this series are going to be, I will be more than happy to read them all.

This is the 6th book in The Playmakers Series which are all interconnected but can be read/listened to as a stand-alone. Our MMC is Dana “Mac” a widowed single dad who took time off his hockey career to look after his sick/dying wife and 2 kids. Now he’s ready to get back on the ice but that means relocating, starting up with a new team, and being the backup goalie. In steps our FMC Mia, a real estate agent who seems to feel it’s her job to take care of everyone in her family but herself. Mia and Mac meet in a bar one night and hit it off great, they joke around, feel sparks, and talk hockey but Mac gets shot down at the end of night. When Mac goes to meet his new real estate agent none other than Mia shows up. Did I mention all that happens in the first few chapters??
This is a super meet-cute, single dad, hockey romance with witty banter and steamy rendezvous, but oh boy does Mac need help with his pickup lines. I couldn’t help but giggle at how bad they were. Mia has a great feisty attitude but she’s also extremely venerable which makes her really relatable. I’m new to both Ryan Lee Dunlap & Aubrey Vincent as narrators and I enjoyed their performance. Both did very well at their parts and I loved that it was duet style. They did great at brining their characters to life as well as distinguishing different voices for different male/female characters.
The third act breakup after a miscommunication is always a given, and we all know that both the MMC & MFC have issues they need to face in order to move on. However there was some parts I truly didn’t see coming. It was also great to have characters from past books making an appearance and helping out our MMC (Grimms I’m talking about you here 👀)

I loved that this story was about the 'backup' goalkeeper, just doing the best he could at being a pro hockey player and single fatherhood. I loved almost everything about Mac. His fumbling attempts to be a party guy (and his eventual realization that he was a family man and that's what he wanted to be). His naivete in his first marriage. His struggles with the younger goalkeeper. And especially the vulnerability he showed when he was crushed by life. (The only thing I didn't care for was when he went alpha in bed; that felt like the author bowing to what she thought readers wanted to read, not who Mac was at his core.) I wasn't as enamored with Mia; truth be told I got a little annoyed and bored with her in the middle of the story with her repetitive self-talk. But, she had her own ball of ick going on with her boss, her sister and her mom, and when she finally got her head on straight about Mac, I liked her a lot more. Both characters needed to stand up to certain people in their lives, and that, when it finally came, was quite satisfying. The black moment and HEA were fantastic (though *everything* turning out perfect was a bit of a stretch considering all the sub-themes going on in this book).

Having taken time off to nurse Becca and come to terms with her death, he’s lost his position as starting goalie too. But, Colorado wants him, and he’s ready to make a new life for himself and his two children. He’s the backup goalie but hopes to get a shot at the starting position again! He meets Mia Morales in a bar and strikes out but gets a second chance the next day when she shows him a rental house and is dumbstruck! He’s never felt this way before about any woman! But she refuses to give him the time of day! Not that she doesn’t find him attractive, but she likes him so much she is scared of what that could mean!
Both Mac and Mia have been hurt before and are understandably gun-shy when it comes to relationships! Mac tried to date other women but she’s the only one who interests him!

4.5 Stars! This series never disappoints!

No Touch Zone is the 6th instalment (but can be read as a standalone) in the Playmakers series by G.K. Brady. Having read the previous 5 books in the series, I was excited to pick this one up. As mentioned, I was definitely not disappointed!
Widowed single dad, and hockey goalie Dana “Mac” McPherson is traded to Denver. He relocates with a fresh start in mind after coming back to hockey after some time off. Mia Morales is a real estate agent who has a lot on her plate from being the person her family constantly leans on. The two meet at a bar and immediately hit it off. After sharing some drinks and laughs, they go home separately and don’t expect to see each other again. But when Mac turns out to be her new client, they have no choice but to spend some time together.
Just like the other books in the series, this was so enjoyable! I loved Mac and Mia’s chemistry. This is slow burn so we really got to see Mac and Mia spend time with each other, attempting to resist the other but growing close to one another. I also loved the side plot of what was going on with each other’s families. It delivered on some unexpected twists, that added some drama into the mix. And, I really enjoyed the ending. Overall, this was soo cute and sweet! Mac was such a caring person and he was my fav, although I did love both him and Mia.💕
Ryan Lee Dunlap and Aubrey Vincent did amazingly with bringing these characters and their story to life! Dunlap was excellent at portraying the caring, yet sexy and swoon-worthy single dad that was Mac. Whist Vincent’s voice was perfect in portraying Mia’s personality and emotions throughout. Overall, an enjoyable listen!

Dana "Mac" McPherson was the starting goalie in Philly until he wasn't. He took time off to take care of his wife during her illness and then her death. Now he's been traded to the Colorado Blizzard's as their backup goalie where he can get a fresh start and make a new life for him and his two kids. He meets Mia Morales at a bar where he strikes out but meets her the next day finding out she is his rental property agent in charge of helping him find a rental house. He likes her and thinks she would be a perfect choice at getting him back into the dating field but she doesn't give him the time of day. It's not that she doesn't like him but she has so much on her plate, she's scared and she just can't add another complication to her life.

Dana "Mac" McPherson was the starting goalie in Philly until he wasn't. He took time off to take care of his wife during her illness and then her death. Now he's been traded to the Colorado Blizzard's as their backup goalie where he can get a fresh start and make a new life for him and his two kids. He meets Mia Morales at a bar where he strikes out but meets her the next day finding out she is his rental property agent in charge of helping him find a rental house. He likes her and thinks she would be a perfect choice at getting him back into the dating field but she doesn't give him the time of day. It's not that she doesn't like him but she has so much on her plate, she's scared and she just can't add another complication to her life.

I’ve been obsessed with this series since the very first book. All the guys were incredible characters and all won me over, but after reading Defending the Reaper, Grims was my favorite. And now he’s been replaced with Mac!
I seriously didn’t think I’d love another guy in this series as much as Grims, but Mac nearly blew him out of the water! Not only did he have a sad, tragic past, but he was such an absolute sweetheart. He truly had a heart of gold and my heart broke for him and the life he had been trapped in. I loved that even though he was so young, he manned up and tried to do what was best for his kids. I wasn’t expecting the twist that would throw everything up in the air, and my heart broke for Mac all over again. I loved how awkward and earnest he was. Mia described Mac perfectly when she said he was “adorably sexy.”
I adored Mia! Not only was she a strong, independent woman, but she went out of her way to help her sister, who I truly didn’t think deserved all she’d done for her. Mia had her own difficult past which weighed her down with guilt that I didn’t believe she should have felt, but she too was a good person who felt things deeply.
I loved Mia’s mom and thought she had such great advice for Mia! I found Alli to be completely selfish and self involved. And Lady Dimitra (hehehe), she was the classic dragon lady! But...she did redeem herself in a major way!

No touch zone is the 6th book in the Playmakers Series but can be listened to as a standalone. The story is about Mac, a widowed single father of two kids who took time off from his hockey career as a goaltender to care for his family after his wife’s passing. He’s relocating for a fresh start with a new team and to possibly get back into the dating scene. Mia is a real estate agent who puts her family above herself, taking care of far too many things at once. The two meet in a bar and have a great time with fun conversations and laughs, but when Mac wants to escalate it further, she shuts him down and says goodnight. Little did they know their paths would cross again when Mac turned out to be her new client…
This was a very enjoyable listen. Mac and Mia were absolutely adorable together they had amazing chemistry , they were fun and flirty, and when it came to the steamy bits, they were scorching hot! The characters were genuine and relatable with relatable problems, which made the story more endearing and likable. There were a few twists that added a layer of drama that I had never seen coming. An overall great story with the most perfect ending!
Aubrey Vincent and Ryan Lee Dunlap were the narrators on this book, and I found them both a joy to listen to. They hit the tone of the story and its characters from vulnerable and frustrated to fun and passionate flawlessly.
If you’re a fan of single dad sports romance with a touch of angst, a little drama, adorable kids, a swoon worthy man, a woman with a heart of gold and plenty of steam, that is well written, and wonderfully narrated, then you want to get this one!

Each of G.K. Brady’s Playmaker Series Hockey Romances have been so different but I have loved them all and Mac and Mia’s story is no exception. Mac is a professional hockey player and widower with two young kids. He’s been traded to a new team, his and his kids lives have been upended and his mother in-law rules all. Mia is a caregiver. She works too much, takes care of everyone at the expense of her own life and due to an awful experience has no intention of ever being in a relationship again. From the moment they meet, Mia and Mac just click. Their attraction is off the charts, their banter is witty and you can’t help but hope against hope that they end up together. G.K. Brady has such a gift for creating the most wonderful characters. I can’t recommend this book highly enough - I just loved it!

I’ve read this series from start to finish and started when the author first published and loved each one. This is my fav of all. I’m a sucker for a single dad read. The story is about Mac and Mia. This is a couple you can not help but root for. Mia is beautiful inside and out. She’s currently taking care of her entire family emotionally and financially as best she can. Mac is a single dad of two young children who’s trying to rebuild his hockey career. There are some u expected twists and parts are emotional but it is a complicated and compelling story you won’t want to out down. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the and I will buy a copy too.

Mac has been traded to Colorado and although it means uprooting not only himself but his 2 kids this could be the start of a new life - away from the pain and guilt of losing his wife to cancer. On his first night in town he meets Mia at the hotel bar - and if Mac thought his life had hit rock bottom it couldn’t compare to the day, week, month or year Mia was having! After a great night drinking to forget and a not so happy ending for Mac imagine his surprise when Mia shows up at his hotel to find him a rental house!
Things really get interesting when you throw in hurtful pasts and 2:people who are looking for different things in life - along with a meddling mother in law, a Stepford sister in law and a 5 year old who wants Mia to be her mommy!
This is a great story about the fact sometimes you don’t always want what you think you do - and it takes the right people to show you what love really is!

This is one of my favorite hockey series and I have enjoyed all the characters in this series.
I have to say that I adored Mac and how he was such a great father and an unaware heartthrob.
Mia was not a character that I warmed up to but I knew by this author’s history that I would and sure enough I liked her too.
These two have past relationship issues, family issues and drama but their story was a great way to
End the series. Macs kids were great additions as well as seeing the other copies. I also love how this author writes the hockey scenes with realism.

Mac is a single dad hockey player that is being traded to another team. When he goes to check the area out he meets a feisty woman named Mia. What a surprise to him that she shows up as his realtor the next day. Mia gives him a run for his money in the flirting but not committing department due to past experiences but thankfully Mac doesn’t give up.
I love a story with a wow factor or plot twist and let me tell you towards the end of this story there were three separate times my mouth dropped open and said wow! I really enjoyed this story that the narrators brought to life. Ryan Lee Dunlap and Aubrey Vincent were fantastic. Ryan looks like his voice would match the cover model so that was fun to envision.

No Touch Zone is a stand alone story in the Playmakers Series. With Mac recently being traded to the team, I don’t think you miss much if you haven’t read the previous books.
One of the things I really appreciate with the Playmaker series is that side characters that would normally just be good guys or bad guys have more layers. It’s not only romantic relationships that can evolve over time, but also relationships with family and friends.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Ryan Lee Dunlap and Aubrey Vincent. They did a great job with their performances.

What a great book. This one has a beautiful storyline and well written characters. I smiled so much listening to this audiobook. With a strong independent leading lady, this guy has his work cut out for him. A brilliant performance.

I have to admit I fell a little bit in love with the "potato on skates"
I was immediately drawn into the story and couldn't put it down, I finished reading it in just two days. I love G. K. Brady's books, if you've not read any yet I would definitely recommend giving this one a try, especially if you love hunky hockey players and HEAs.

This is book 6 in the Playmakers Series, a Hockey Romance. Mac and Mia's story is sweet, and heartwarming. I like this series. Mac, a widower single Dad, is handsome, and caring. Mia is sweet, smart, and supportive. They are perfect together. Mac's kids Riley and Mason are adorable. I liked the family spirit in the story. Single Dad romance is one of my favorite tropes. Ryan Lee Dunlap and Aubrey Vincent did a great job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Twisted Wrister, the next book in the series. #HomeCookedBooks

I really enjoyed this single dad, angsty, emotional, second chance, hockey romance. Mac and Mia were so adorably cute together. Both have difficult pasts and I loved how they helped each other work through the past.
Ryan Lee Dunlap and Aubrey Vincent did an amazing job bringing the story to life. I didn't enjoy some of the other voices, but I did like the main characters voices.

A hilarious meet cute when they realize Mia is the realtor for Mac the next day, that turns into a beautiful story of two falling love after loss.
Third person is usually super hard for me, but I was an audio listener and the narrators, Ryan Lee Dunlap and Aubrey Vincent did a great job of keeping me engaged in the story. They brought depth an dynamic to the characters.

I didn’t even bother to read the blurb to this book before I jumped straight in. It’s shows how much of a fan of this authors work. So once I started I found myself highly emotional reading both Mac & Mia’s backstory - but more so for Mac as I found it utterly devastating.
With so many low moments including his trade, I was rooting for him to finally have something wonderful happen in his life. Life then has a funny way of working. Their first meeting was a bit of a miss but obviously these two were meant to cross paths again because they didn’t have to wait too long for that to happen.
Probably one of the best books in the series and it is one I will definitely be reading again. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Good entertaining read! Humor, banter, heat, feels and family situations this book has it all. Mia takes everything on her shoulders, the rock of the family going 200 mph! Mac is trying to get his career back after taking time off after loosing his wife to cancer, he's moved his family half way across the country to be a back-up goalie for the Blizzards. Cute meet at a bar has them bantering with underlying sexual tension. He's looking to let off steam, she doesn't to commitment or hockey players but when the woman who takes care of everyone needs to be taken care of can the nerdy sexy single dad show Mia she needs to be taken care of too. Sexy hockey players, adorable kids and fun banter makes this a good read!

Just as they decide to make a go of it life throws something else at them.
Can they get their HEA.

I've read and enjoyed the other books in the series, and Mac and Mia's story did not disappoint. GK Brady has woven humor into this story filled with drama and past hurts. The writing had me laughing out loud at moments and then wiping away tears at others. Mia has a lot of baggage, but will she be able to let it go and give HEA a chance? Mac is fighting to win a starting spot again after a personal crisis forces him to walk away from the sport he loves. Will history repeat himself? Will he sacrifice everything again for things out of his control? An entertaining story from start to finish. Looking forward to seeing what comes next in this series.

Another keeper in this series and this time we meet Mac, a backup new goaltender just traded to the team, but really, he's all starter! An endearing widower who is trying to juggle family and a new team, he meets Mia who always puts other's needs before her own. Another winning instalment in the series which has become my guilty pleasure. Looking forward to the next one!
