I remember loving reading about predictions of the future. I have finally re-acquired the book (16ish years down the line) and plan to see which of their "near future" predictions have panned out. The authors were always very open about the fact that predictions of the future are generally very wrong, but I'm hoping they got at least a few things a little bit right.
