If you just want some erotica with a bunch of sex scenes, this is OK. It's definitely got a lot packed in there. My problem with the book was with the story outside the sex. It had a lot of potential, but just too many loose ends and weird things added in.
For one, I really can't stand heroines that just continually make really stupid decisions. Esme grows up in a village, and every year, they give offerings to the Kavari warriors that protect their village. The actual number they take isn't super clear because the author mentions different amounts in different parts of the book. At first, it was two virgin maidens (for the Masters) and three paramours (to be shared amongst the regular soldiers), but then at the actually ceremony, she says they take all but two of the 15 that were offered for their choosing, and then as they go to the Kavari city, there are three maidens. So, I'm not sure...but they take some virgins and some experienced women.
Anyway, Esme is very clear that the elders that run her village are a-holes. One of them tries to rape her while she's waiting to be examined before the ceremony for goodness sakes. And yet, despite knowing how awful those guys are, she tries to run away from the Kavari because.......???? I don't know. She's scared? Of what? It seems like she's going to be some dude's plaything no matter where she goes, so would you pick the decrepit old leacher or the hot muscly guy?
I just don't like characters that don't make any sense. Esme kept saying she should be sneaky so that she could find out what really happened to her parents...and then she kept doing the opposite of that.
The dynamics in the Kavari city were interesting, but also kind of annoying. For a group of men that claimed taking care of women was the most important thing to them, they sure didn't do much to protect the women being abused by the king. It seemed like the heroes of this book should have been able to take over with everyone supporting them, but we're told they can't because some people still like the king. Why? I have no idea. I'm not sure if this book will be a series or not, but if not, you're left with a lot of unanswered questions at the end.

Disliked story extolling rape.
I disliked the whole premise of the story which basically extols rape. The fact that the main female character finds pleasure in this defies belief. There is no real storyline except make domination.

This book is Smut with a capital S. Most of what you'll read are smut scenes that play into slave-master dynamic mixed with a daddy-little energy. It is a reverse harem and there is a ton of impact play in here.
Personally, the scenes read more like male gaze pornography than anything else. I didn't get into it as much as most smut I read, but it could very well just be "not my niche". All together it read easily. I finished it in two days. The world building was impressive in its ease. There weren't any insane or lengthy descriptions that took your focus away. There were a few grammatical errors, words missing, etc. But not enough to be too distracting. Good for a quick read if you're bored.

It's a very steep learning curve but she quickly comes to crave it from her three huge dominant Masters. All the names of the titles for everyone and their names (side characters) were hard to keep up with but this was actually a pretty good read

This is one of those stories with strict Alphas, who like to be called Master. They also like virgin females, but also keep “experienced” females as pets. Not a world I would like to find myself in, even though the prospect of 3 gorgeous men pleasuring me sounds enticing 😉😂. But the underlying storyline is good, and I assume the books that follow in this series will continue it. Would be happy to see that nasty King Ryne die a slow painful death

Awesome book
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s been a long time since I’ve read any master books so this was great to get back into.
The whole take of different races was awesome. I for whatever reason thought of Viking men when I read of the men. So hot.
There were some misplaced words here and there but didn’t take too much from reading.

3.5 stars overall. 6 stars for the smut, 2 stars for plot and writing. This is straight up erotica, master slave with non-con and dub-con, abuse, and basically a ton of other triggers. I must say tho 🥵 this book was hot.

Interesting book
I enjoyed this. The story was diverse and very interesting and the characters were extremely entertaining. The interaction between them all was wonderful and made for an exciting story. I'm hoping there will be a sequel to this.

For a book that was as long as this one you’d think it’d have more action (that was not smut) and storytelling… it does not. Straight up 200-some-odd pages of discipline smut. Repetitive (I swear they brought up her humping her pillow in the window or rubbing herself to people in the barracks like 20 times).The FMC was bland like tepid water. The MMCs pretty much could have all just been the same dude.
Facebook made the series sound way better than it is (obviously I won’t be reading what comes next in the series). Fucking Facebook.

November 21, 2022I actually finished this book for the second time. I read it when it was released and again when book2 came out. I wanted to catch up on the ongoing storyline before heading into book2. I rarely, RARELY reread a book so that should tell you how much I loved it.
If I was going to write menage erotica with VERY Dubious consent by a bunch of super mega hot alpha Vikings that adore and worship the woman that they love and EXPECT absolute submission in return, this is exactly what it would sound like. In this case it’s an alternate world where humans live in backward villages that are run by a bunch of horny entitled old guys who suppress everyone else in the village and basically starve & rape (the females) to stay rich & in power. While there is a human-killing group of monsters terrorizing the village, a deal was struck with the warrior group to have them protect the villages. As with any rule, there are those corrupt and will do anything to maintain power. This includes the village ‘elders’ as well as the king of the warrior species.
The village hands over a bunch of both virgins (maidens) who are given to a group of leaders to keep as their own, and non-virgins (paramours) who are basically given to large groups of troops/ warriors. So our heroine/Virgin is chosen and taken up the mountain to live with the warrior group and given to the 3 men who had chosen her. This is where the dub-con comes in. I really thought I wrote a review after my first reading and referred to it as pretty rapey. It is. It definitely is. So do not read this book if it’s not your thing. However, knowing that, when heading into it on my second reading, I didn’t feel nearly as uncomfortable with it as I did first time…..I KNEW these men were already halfway in LOVE with their maiden even before claiming her. That they were planning to be 100% LOYAL & DEDICATED to her and to her safety. That even though they insisted on her submission, she completely OWNED each of their hearts. If she truly did NOT want them, I do not think they would have pushed her (the dub-con).
Reading the story the first time I wasn’t really picking up on that. Just her non-stop begging for them to stop and her constant denial that she did NOT want them. On re-read I see that her satisfaction and pleasure came first before their own. That even punishments (yup, lots of spanking with hands, belts & paddles), were done with her pleasure in mind. They would bring her so much pleasure while she begged them to stop and kept saying she did not like it…but even her inner dialogue was struggling to keep up the lie. Several times the men said, if you truly want us to stop, we will… but of course she could NOT with any believability.
Ultimately they even apologized at the end for pushing her submission to them before she was ready to give it. They agreed they should have given her all their love before insisting on her loyalty and submission to them (to give submission there must be trust, so essentially it was unrealistic to expect her submission before they gave her any reason to trust them).
Anyway there was a shocking amount of world-building and detailed storyline for for such a heavily erotic book. It was perfect and I cannot wait to dive into book 2, featuring characters we’ve met in book1. While there is sex, sex and more sex every which way, I am also excited to see more developments to the storyline of power-hungry elders & king.
While I would now definitely rate this book 5*, I originally rated it 3 due to the uncomfortable dub-con. Let me say that I love dub-con books and usually the more dubious the better but this one still made me a bit uncomfortable on first reading. I am emphasizing this because nothing is more annoying than seeing reviews that are slamming the book because of dub-con (or flat out rape as some would say..) when it’s very clearly going to be a large part of the story. On the other hand it is probably the most thorough menage sex I have ever read (if the combination is possible, excluding MM combos, it’s probably in this book and in great DETAIL;) so enjoy!! 🥰🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 🥵🥵

Like I’m sure no one sets out to read a book they are going to dislike *on purpose*. One of my frustrations being a dark romance reader is that a hefty chunk of my options are punishment/spanking centered. I don’t hate spanking and punishment but it doesn’t really hold any appeal for me so I don’t read many. For many of the books I can generally skim past all the spanking and punishment nonsense for the story and spice but it’s harder with others.
When I can across this series someone was recommending it in a facebook group but specifically book 4. I looked and immediately dismissed reading it because of the blurb but I was intrigued by the premise and this one sounded less spanking centered. It’s not, for the record, but you live and you learn.
I did skim the punishment bits because I find them tiresome and unappealing but the story outside of it was definitely in the just ok range and that was a bummer. It’s not awful it just wasn’t as fleshed out as I was hoping for. I wanted a story with a side of spanking that I could skim past but this is more of a punishment centered book with some bits of plot and story scattered in between.
Safety - is iffy. Since this is a punishment centric book it focuses heavily on humiliation in its effort. So there’s lots of nudity and punishing in the presence of others who aren’t in this harem. At one point they offer her to a dude who is in their employ and lives with them. He thankfully declines but he’s a villain in this story so while he doesn’t seem interested in banging her he definitely wants to seriously hurt her. He’s reprimanded but yuck. FWIW, she kills him in the end.

2.00 Stars. (WW/ 3 WM or Bronze-gold Aliens) Kindle Unlimited Edition e-book. BDSM-Menage. The storyline follows a theme about an alien species bordering on extinction due to its inability to breed females and increase its numbers; to remedy this, the Kavari of Maglin and Esme's village leaders enter into a protection agreement where the Kavari will defend her village against murderous attacks in exchange for an annual dedication of 5 or 6 females along with other provisions. This year, Esme along with others is to be given as donations...Esme is to be the sexual property of three mighty warriors: Lavan, the scout, enforcer and medic in training/ Quade, the planner, leader and would be tribal ruler and Viggo, the trainer. I didn't like the public humiliation, constant "spanking/hitting, use of oils & potions to make Esme more compliant sexually and the crude taking turns with her; plus, thee's no chemistry or emotional connection or real dialogue -just froggings followed the men lining up and taking turns. How orderly.

The writing is good, but this is all slave-master smut. A lot of humiliation and punishment kink. Dare I say, it was too much smut. I lost interest about halfway through. There just wasn’t enough plot or character development to hold my interest.
It felt reminiscent of hardcore porn. So if you like to read porn rather than watch it, this is a solid recommendation.

This was my first book by Demi Lane. I enjoyed it and will probably read some others by her. I do plan on reading the next book in this series at least. The book is well written and the story flows fairly well. It's written in third person, & the reader is shown the story from all four main characters sides in small bits. There is A LOT of steamy, hot, sweaty, sex. Ok, it's basically smut, but with a plot. If that's not what you like to read at least every now and then. You should skip this and find something else. It's a reverse harem book. Three dominant alpha males & one feisty submissive female. There are long intense BDSM scenes including an orgy type celebration, spankings with hand & belt, etc. There is an "inspection" done by a village elder on the MFC. It happens early on in the book. It doesn't go far & is shut down by the Kavari guard. I found that & a few times where the Kavari king was involved to be uncomfortable for me personally to read.
The main female character (MFC) named Esme lives in a village. This village's customs vary greatly to the way things are in the city where the Kavari live. Which is where she is taken. She's been chosen as a dedication to honor a pact made by her village elders with the Kavari. Six years ago the Kavari helped the village in their time of need. The village was under attack from a truly barbaric group. They would've slaughtered or enslaved the whole village without the help of the Kavari. Though the people are grateful for that help. The women at least think the price they have to pay every year is too dear. The women in general are treated very poorly for the most part in Esme's village. The elders of this village are greedy and controlling. There are a few other villages close by that the Kavari also helped and have a similar deal with. The villages keep to themselves for the most part, or at least Esme's village does. Every year the Kavari are given ore, fabric, grain, and offered a dedication. The dedication is supposed to be an honor but a lot of the women are frightened of being one. They are women over 20 offered up to be chosen by the Kavari to take home with them. They are never seen again. So there are several rumors about what happens to them, but no one knows for certain. There are several women from each village. There are 2-3 maidens (virgins) and several paramours (women who aren't virgins). The maidens are chosen by the Kavari masters as theirs, and the paramour will severe the master's soldier group. This is all explained much better in the book, but this is the gist.

I enjoyed for the most part. I would recommend it to the friends I have that like this sort of book. If you're that type of person, give it a try too.
This was my first book by Demi Lane. I enjoyed it and will probably read some others by her. I do plan on reading the next book in this series at least. The book is well written and the story flows fairly well. It's written in third person, & the reader is shown the story from all four main characters sides in small bits. There is A LOT of steamy, hot, sweaty, sex. Ok, it's basically smut, but with a plot. If that's not what you like to read at least every now and then. You should skip this and find something else. It's a reverse harem book. Three dominant alpha males & one feisty submissive female. There are long intense BDSM scenes including an orgy type celebration, spankings with hand & belt, etc. There is an "inspection" done by a village elder on the MFC. It happens early on in the book. It doesn't go far & is shut down by the Kavari guard. I found that & a few times where the Kavari king was involved to be uncomfortable for me personally to read.
The main female character (MFC) named Esme lives in a village. This village's customs vary greatly to the way things are in the city where the Kavari live. Which is where she is taken. She's been chosen as a dedication to honor a pact made by her village elders with the Kavari. Six years ago the Kavari helped the village in their time of need. The village was under attack from a truly barbaric group. They would've slaughtered or enslaved the whole village without the help of the Kavari. Though the people are grateful for that help. The women at least think the price they have to pay every year is too dear. The women in general are treated very poorly for the most part in Esme's village. The elders of this village are greedy and controlling. There are a few other villages close by that the Kavari also helped and have a similar deal with. The villages keep to themselves for the most part, or at least Esme's village does. Every year the Kavari are given ore, fabric, grain, and offered a dedication. The dedication is supposed to be an honor but a lot of the women are frightened of being one. They are women over 20 offered up to be chosen by the Kavari to take home with them. They are never seen again. So there are several rumors about what happens to them, but no one knows for certain. There are several women from each village. There are 2-3 maidens (virgins) and several paramours (women who aren't virgins). The maidens are chosen by the Kavari masters as theirs, and the paramour will severe the master's soldier group. This is all explained much better in the book, but this is the gist.

When your in the mood for a breeding dystopian RH D/s with dubcon then this is good. Those were the reasons I chose to give this book a chance. I loved Ivy Barretts Kobar mates series so I knew this type of RH was not for the faint of heart. It started really strong and had some dark themes. However, I ultimately skimmed this story for many reasons:
1)There are murder mystery miscommunication elements which causes prolonged punishments and misbehaviors. All of which led me to dislike the h.
2) I didn’t like the hero’s. They say they cherish their women and share everything with those they trust. Cool. I can get down because that’s the RH to me. But share with everyone in the house? The masters AND soldiers and the king? What makes the women so cherished?
3) women were truly property no matter where they lived. Maidens and paramours claimed used and they think to procure more. Now the Hs here did make Eame their mate. But at one point mention they would get another maiden later or not.
I did enjoy the smut and contrary to the above I don’t mind the property feel in a D/s book like this but I like the definition of established relationship. What is being suggested in this culture is no different than the skeevy elders are doing.
It’s not a terrible read. The author does a fantastic job with story telling. It’s a me thing I guess. I just didn’t like any of the options available for the women.

Funny enough.
I almost made it halfway. The story is of a mythical place, with mythical human women who yearn for revenge whilst knowing little about their own world, bodies, or situation. These women have a limited connection between their bodies and brains. Which comes in handy when their barbarian protectors come to collect the reward that is their accomodating flesh. Although these women hate their ‘Masters’, they also find themselves wet and ready. Their virgin bodies can take an orgy first time round with no discomfort (and their masters are hung with arm sized ‘dongles’). They love pain and don’t need any words except the awkwardly phrased smut from their godly captors. Basically the story should be read with a bold and the beautiful voice over. Don’t read for any depth of character or understanding of the mythical world presented. God like barbarian men who magically fit and unfortunately vacuous protagonists, who really want to be more, but can’t quite find the words. All in all the story needed a bit more explanation.

I really, REALLY wanted to love this. I love vikings (or fantasy-sci-fi creatures that very closely resemble vikings). I love RH romance. I love 'sacrificed woman for the greater good' love stories. This had all the makings of something I would truly love, but unfortunately, it fell short of the mark.
Don't get me wrong, this book was STEAMIN'. Like, A+ for spiciness and barbarian smut. Lavan was my fave brother, but I liked Viggo and Quade as well, so there was nothing wrong with the heroes per say, I just feel like there were some things at play here that rubbed me the wrong way - a severe lack of communication between the main characters, the borderline non-con elements in some scenes, and physical violence committed to Esme (the FMC) by someone close to the brothers, just to name a few. Maybe I just wasn't in the right headspace for this kind of world, I dunno 🤷🏼♀️
Still, I'm keen to see if there's another book in this series, because I'd probably check it out.

Okay...I feel like this is really hard.
Pretty much, I'm hung up on the fact in the beginning that they said they would get another Maiden and pretty much throughout this whole thing Esme has always and will always be just someone to fuck. There are no real emotions in this book. They just want her full obedience for their own whims and this is supposed to be enough to satisfy her.
The bigger problem is that it's made clear she is only for them, but they can take another Maiden and they do have other people to service. They also sort of pimp her out for others pleasure and their own desire to watch.
I guess I expected a romance story but there wasn't any romance. If there was a hint of it maybe it was with Lavern? But also not really.

As a new author for me I really enjoyed her book. I loved the storyline and the pace didn't drop. The Village that Esme lives in has to pay a Dedication to the Kavari for their protection against the beasts that live in the surrounding lands. Esme is this years tribute and she's not very happy about it. She will be given to three warriors, Quade, Lavan, and Viggo. They all have different characteristics but each will mate and breed with these warriors. She's quite feisty so her education begins early. This is an action packed story with spankings, and heart pounding sexy steamy scenes.. I can't wait to read another of Demi Lane's books. An Awesome Read!!!
I loved reading Taming Their Maiden. All about Esm a young nineteen year old girl who was picked for dedication to three Kaveri Warriors. Her warriors are Quade, Lava & Viggo they are big and handsome and train her as well as tach her about there culture and then breed her. Unfortunately she and three other girls decide to run when they stop for a break. She is captured by Lavan, after she informs him she wants revenge for her parents death, we’ll discuss this when we get home. Read this book and find out how Esm and her warriors fair during her training!! This book will run the gambit on emotions and you will feel each one thru out the story. The pleasure is insane!!!! I enjoyed reading this book very much. Hopefully you will as well.

Not my usual type of read, so keep that in mind about my review.
If you just want erotic sex scenes with little focus on the story, then this book is for you.
One minute Esme is defiant, the next she is enjoying being punished and basically raped until she enjoys it by her three masters Quade, Viggo, and Lavan. The story focus on Esme as she is taken from her village by the Kavari men. Men who are so much bigger than her. Cocks the size of her forearm that then grow larger. My brain tried wrapping around how that works when they are with a small human woman. Maybe their "magic". If anyone knows I would appreciate an answer. I would really have enjoyed this had it focused more on what was going on with a little sex mingled in here and there. May or may not read the rest of the series.

This was an amazing little story. I didn’t know what to expect but this exceeded the minimums (good storyline, the leading lady not being overly dumb and not being overly predictable) I go into any new series/authors with. I wanted to give it five stars but there we some editing issues that need to be remedied but all in all, great story line and I’m excited to see where it goes. I’m definitely team kill the king that’s for sure and hoping this series continues to build without too much repetition. Keep it spicy because those sex scenes were yummy if you’re into the manage thing.
