Henry the HuCow #1

Henry the HuCow

Rate this book
Henry has a secret: he’s “udderly” fascinated with the idea of lactating. He wants to play cow to someone else’s bull, and he’s not afraid of doing whatever it takes to see his dreams come true. When he has the opportunity to join a study about male lactation, he jumps at the chance. He probably should’ve read the fine print, but he’d have agreed to everything anyway, right?

Henry the HuCow is 15k words of “udder” filthy smut. He’d very much like you to read his story.

Moo.

Contains consensual male lactation and body modification.

No hucows were harmed in the making of this udderly filthy book.

R. Phoenix

R. Phoenix has an unhealthy fascination with contrasts: light and dark, heroes and villains, order and chaos. She believes that love can corrupt and power can redeem. Her muse is a sadomasochistic slave driver who thinks it's terribly amusing to give her the best ideas when she just got comfortable and warm in bed, and she passes on that torture to her readers. She also tries entirely too hard to be funny, and she mercilessly inflicts her terrible sense of humor upon anyone who speaks to her. She'd love it if you'd say hello!

"now moo for me." 🐄

✦ pretty fascinating, definitely not my kink though.
✦ also, it always bugs me so much when a character doesn't read a single fucking clause when signing a contract. i know it's fiction, but c'mon, why do you have to make your character appear so utterly stupid?

The milk of humankind

This was not a journey I expected to take today.

Henry's greatest wish is to be able to breastfeed. An impossible dream until one day he sees an ad seeking subjects for a clinical test which will allow him to realise his dream. Of course he signs up.

Henry's journey takes some surprising turns on the way to its moooving conclusion. While this isn't my kink, author R. Phoenix keeps it interesting and Henry's rationalisation and acceptance of some of the things expected of him made for a compelling read.

This was super short, but...am I into hucow stuff now? Is this the evolution of my lactation kink? WAS THIS INEVITABLE???

PSA: read the T&Cs before signing contracts

You'd think that after the first nasty surprise resulting from not reading the conditions, you'd...I don't know...read the damn conditions. But Henry is pretty desperate to lactate and frankly not very bright so...yeah. I actually liked how this same trope was used in Worked by TM Chris but I think it was a bit much here and I've heard it gets worse in the next ones. Way worse.

I knew what this was going in but I guess I was expecting more plot. Not sure why I'd expect plot in lactation erotica but anyway. Or maybe it was romance that I was after, but there's none of that here either, it was all pretty clinical.

So basically this was fine, but didn't blow my mind. I'll read the next ones if they pop up as freebies but I probably won't go out of my way to buy them.

I've been wanting to read this forever and when it was offered as a freebie I knew I had to get it (now I guess I have to buy the sequels :D) I loved this - it was everything I had hoped it would be!
Humorous, ridiculous and yet fantastically written erotica.

A guy has been dreaming of lactating forever, gets a spot of targeted advertising and signs up for a study without reading the fine print. His dream comes true of his nipples lactating but he might be turning less and less human in the process though...

Quotes
"But I was going to be a good fucking cow. The best cow." (p. 18)

"There I was, with my chest brimming with milk, my nipples leaking fluid down to a tattoo that marked me as the cow I was turning into, and I couldn't be happier." (p. 34)

"He casually crossed the room, pouring a cup of coffee, then he said, 'I want some fresh creamer today'..." (p. 42)

"'You want this?' he asked, cupping his groin. 'Ye-' Nathan quirked a brow. 'Moo!' I said enthusiastically." (p. 46)

Endlessly clever, dependably kinky, surprisingly charming, and thoroughly Raissa, Henry the HuCow thrives on two levels. If you want a spicy taste of this deliciously naughty fantasy, you're safe skating the surface of this one. If you're willing to delve a smidge deeper, and watch how that rake Nathan grooms Henry... well it's a horse of a different color (so to speak).

I've got my fingers crossed we might get Nathan's story next, and my mind's wide open to all the possibilities of what R. Phoenix will dream up next.

Now this is a niche of a niche kink. And it’s all fun, don’t think about it too hard, and enjoy the ride. The kinks are male lactation and hucow.

it’s so good

This is great. Honestly it sounded hokey and I thought it would be dumb. But I have immensely enjoyed it. Smiling ear to ear multiple times. Wow. I love Henry, he’s a good cow.

Reading this kink with a female MC was objectifying and had me feeling badly for the FMC. Reading it with a male MC let me stand back and gape and giggle about a dude doing this. Read this a long while ago when new to MM and there was a whole box of assorted kinky chocolates to nibble. For what it is, this was well written and hot, even with a naive MC.

3.5 stars. Fun fantasy. The story is quite jolting from contemporary story to kink fantasy, but once I got back into the flow it was fun.

Kink and nothing but the kink

Going into this story I had no idea what to expect. Male lactation is a kink I'd never even heard of but I should have known that R. Phoenix would quickly remedy that. This author is known for pushing the envelope on kink and this story did not disappoint. Short in length, the story didn't waste any time on unnecessary details. No excessive world building or character development, just straight to the kink. I was amazed at how much was revealed in such a short space. Henry, the protagonist, is obsessed with lactation. We don't know why and it really doesn't matter. What matters is the lengths that he'll go to live out his fantasy and just how far down that dark hole his journey will take him. It's seriously all about the kink and I found myself, not only entertained, but also quickly pulled in to this, before unknown, world. Each word draws you in deeper and deeper until, at the end, you are completely hooked and craving more! It's weird and a little bit twisted and I loved every minute of it. I certainly hope the author continues with these characters and this story because I'm dying to know what happens next. It may not be for everyone but it is definitely worth the journey to read this book! As Henry might say "Just Moo it!"

Not your average kink

I was in a chat room when R Phoenix was talking about what they were writing, mentioning that it was a different kind of kink that isn't usually written. Everyone was all for it, including me. Henry, The Hucow is about Henry having a fantasy about his nipples lactating and having his partner nurse from him. He isn't interested in the fine print of the contract that he signs that will lead to his fantasy.

Moo

I don't even know how to explain this kink, but I'm happy Henry was finally allowed to lactate. There is literally only one sex scene with a bull, which was my only nitpick with this story.

4.5 moo's🐄 A great little story about Henry wanting to be a cow. He finds a experiment program and just maybe he should have read the fine print first. All things Moo in this one written for Henry.

This is definitely not my kink. Yet, I found the story very interesting.  What I liked about it was Henry's inner thoughts. His struggle to follow some of the things that were ask of him, to question its convenience. It was great to see how far he was willing to go. I was so intrigued by it. I was also fascinated by Nathan and to guess what was behind everything that was going on.

OK FOR PLOTLESS PORN BUT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER; FEELS LIKE IT MISSED THE MARK

The concept was udderly promising, but the execution felt wishy-washy. This could have been so much hotter if only the idea was allowed to grow organically. As common with erotica that is overeager to dive right into the porny bits, the plot is just a means to an end and becomes nothing but a nonsensical afterthought. Case in point: Nathan. He makes absolutely no sense. It’s like he was just tacked on to the story to preoccupy Henry when he isn’t thinking about his mammary glands, which just detracts from the plot altogether and lessens its credibility—like the writer themself isn’t sure which direction they want the story to go: Is Henry really all about lactating? Or is just hungry for a good boning? Henry is supposed to be monomaniacally obsessed with his breastmilk fantasies—that’s his raison d'être, and yet there lots of times when he seems to be more concerned with Nathan this and Nathan that. And this attraction to Nathan is just as much an afterthought as well, like: he’s hot. Yeah, okay. But then why does he become more fixated with Nathan than his supposed life obsession? Huh? Has Henry never seen an attractive man all his life? What’s so different about Nathan that’s enough to distract him from his mission? It’s like the writer can’t make up their mind as well about what their MC wants to be. Same goes for Nathan. One minute he’s all business, exactingly prim and proper, then he sporadically breaks out of character to turn into the cliché hentai-anime dominant who just exists to add hentainess into the scene when the heat levels flag? Both characters get so random and weird for no reason that the otherwise serious and realistic tone gets dropped to a silly cartoony one.

Sure, I get it, it’s how the writer wants things to happen and their characters to act, and yes, writers should do what they want in their stories, absolutely. But it’s also part of the writer’s responsibility as a good storyteller to not just cram whatever they want into the story for kicks and never mind if it’s justified with proper layering or not and completely ridiculous that it borders on parody; it’s a writer’s job to make the unbelievable believable; to give audiences a good—convincing—reason to suspend their disbelief, not just dump whatever they want without reason nor rhyme (unless they’re actually going for a parody or comedy). I’m not expecting an erotica such as this to have any substantial plot, but at the very least for all the elements in it to make sense. Otherwise, it’ll feel like a joke.

Another waste of potential porny goodness is how Henry went about his “lifelong” dream. He’s so 2D it’s painful. It wouldn’t have hurt to go about his character with a little more naturally flowing realism. Any man who is genuinely obsessed with lactating could have gone about it many ways. You have hormones, you have pumping your own breasts, heck he could have even asked his sexual parters to suck the living daylights out of his mantits, so many things! Yet the story was railroading from the start, with Henry believing that there was no other way for him to achieve his fantasies but to submit to an experiment, like the world is so small and narrow, almost as if… GASP. He was just born yesterday to fulfil a singular purpose (i.e. to be the guinea cow in this male-lactation research thingy). Honestly, I don’t mind the idea, but… at the very least, the story could have been herded in that direction better—less leading. If only the plot and execution was worked a little more carefully—the characters fleshed out and rounded just a bit more to make them relatable, this could have made erotica legend.

What an unusual story. Not a subject I thought I would enjoy reading but I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting it is.

Henry has always wanted to know what it felt like to lactate. He discovers a study on male lactation and eagerly applies. He is accepted and receives injections to begin producing milk. He doesn’t bother to read the fine print so he’s a tad surprised when he’s required to get tattoos and a nose ring. He also falls for the man administering the study, Nathan.

In for a penny, in for a pound. Well that was what Henry felt when he wanted to give birth to his dreams of being a "lactator". He just didn't expect what he ended up with.
An amazingly different type of MM story. And one I thoroughly enjoyed. I really hope I can read more of this author. Addictive, amusing, entertaining and a story I couldn't put down.
Highly recommended.

Why is this split into three?

It's way too short, as a book and each chapter on its own. Some of the time jumps make no sense, and the pace was definitely too fast at some point.

Interesting idea, especially because I figure it's not a common theme but the execution fell a bit short. I'll continue with the stories regardless because I want to see how the others pan out.

Sometimes you can get what you want

If you like things that you see little to nothing about, this book is for you.

Author R. Phoenix deffinetly knows how to read between the lines, even if her characters forget to read the fine print.
