“Then understand this. I want to shoulder that burden for others. I want Quietus to break against me, to shatter. When I killed Abigail Tanner, I knew it would make me a target. I want that. It was on purpose. I’m not some reckless teenager who knows nothing. I’m a reckless teenager who knows exactly what I’m doing.”

We’ve finally found a safe place for mutants, but it may not stay that way for long. There’s no shortage of battles to fight, and I’m itching to take the war to our enemies, even if not everyone agrees. Eli Crane has a lot of money, guns, and hate—and he’s only the first name on my list.Because Crane’s not our only problem: a terrifying mystery lies in our past waiting to be unveiled, and we’ve got a dark vision of the future swinging at us like a fist. A lot of people are gunning for mutants, and we have to keep ahead of all of them. We’re not schoolkids anymore. We’ll have to be revolutionaries, politicians, and criminals to make it through. Surviving the experience isn’t guaranteed.

I AM DECEASED!! *Cries forever*

Every time I pick up one of these books it's like coming home. Dylan is a character who resonates deeply in my soul and I love spending time in their brain. I can't wait to see what they look like from an outside perspective!! This book was even more bloody than the previous one and it was something else. We learned so much about the series progression and Emma's powers. I swear every reveal took my breath away. I'm so ready for Weapon UwU Vol 1: Godkillers and then onto Cute Mutants Vol 5: Galaxy Brain.

I finally finished Cute Mutants Vol 3: The Demon Queer Saga and now I understand why Dani has white hair. I'll admit I was very confused before finishing book 3.

Also, AGAIN, this series IS NOT GRAPHIC NOVELS! Stop tagging it like it is you dorks!!

Rep: demiromantic pansexual genderfluid MC with anxiety, trans male side character, Kiwi-Chinese questioning asexual female side character, bisexual Pacific Islander female side character, lesbian Korean female side character, biromantic asexual nonbinary parent side character in a relationship with a woman, nonbinary side characters, Black female side characters, side WLW relationship,

CWs: Graphic: Blood, cursing, death, gore, gun violence, injury/injury detail, medical trauma/medical experimentation without consent, mental illness (anxiety/ptsd), misogyny, murder, sexism, violence, war themes. Moderate: dysphoria, self harm, racism, sexual content, general queerphobia/queermisia.

Volume 4 of the Cute Mutants series opens right where we left our favourite superqueeroes at the end of volume 3 - Dylan, alongside the rest of the Cute Mutants and a newly resurrected Dani find themselves being portalled to a secret hideaway mutant commune that is a safe space for them to stay for the time being. However, Eli Crane, mutant hater and overall bigot is still at large, but Dylan is determined to put an end to that. But a mysterious mutant who calls themselves God keeps sticking their nose in, and with new information finally coming to light, can the Cute Mutants survive the battles they've got ahead of them?

Despite being emotionally in pain after the previous books in the series, I think that this is the first Cute Mutants book to make me shed real tears that just would not stop coming! I absolutely love SJ's witty writing style and the emotional punches that hit you from every direction in their books. You reach the first blow and you're like, surely this is it, I can't stand anymore pain, and then you get two thirds of the way through the book and you're like, nope this is it, I cannot function any more, I have become one with the pool of tears that surrounds me, and right at the end SJ creates one last sucker punch to take you out when you think everything's safe! It's safe to say that this book is just as action packed as the previous instalments, and yet I still trust SJ not to break my heart each time I open a new book...and yet! Aside from all the action in this instalment, there is a lot more philosophical thinking - there's discussion of whether the Cute Mutants are actually the bad guys or not, 'curing' mutants and the topic of eugenics, as well as the age old mutants v. humans, Magneto was right debate (or in this case, Chatterbox was right)! But if you're sitting there reading this and thinking to yourself, oh no, this sounds like a lot, don't worry, there's still all those soft, hilarious Cute Mutants vibes that we know and love (including Dylan spamming an Olivia Hye fancam during a battle with the hashtag #CuteMutantsAreOverParty!).

Something I have always loved about the Cute Mutants books is, of course, the characters! Dylan and Dani are just as cute as ever (and I love seeing Dylan really growing into their nonbinary identity), and Alyse and Emma are so soft for each other and I adore them! I wish we had seen more of Lou and his girlfriend, but I've got my fingers crossed for Weapon uWu! Speaking of Lou, wow, his character development! I was so, so excited to see him truly come into his own in this book and he's really grown from me kinda being ambivalent about him to being one of my favourite members of the Cute Mutants! We also meet some new mutants that I also adore - my favourites being Excalibur and her sword, and Feral (my sweet gal!) - as well as a pretty awesome tank, Abby! Without spoiling anything, I was also so excited to see one of our old friends again!

This book was definitely an emotional ride and already I'm dying to just abandon my TBR for the month and just re-read the whole series over and over again until the next book is out! Only about half an hour ago did I find out that this is the penultimate book in this arc of the Cute Mutant's story and I'm heartbroken, but I'm so excited to see where SJ takes the series next!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author but all opinions are my own!

Note: This review contains major spoilers for Cute Mutants Vol 1-3, so read with caution.

4.5 stars. I didn’t realize how badly I missed the Cute Mutants until I began this book and sighed, letting the familiarity of these lovely people (and objects!) wash over me and cleanse my soul. I love the Cute Mutants series because while it’s fast-paced and fun, there is no shortage of character development. Each character – main and side alike – is brimming with personality, and I love them all (well, the ones I’m supposed to love, anyway) so much! I love that our main characters continue to deal with difficult moral situations while remaining wholly sympathetic. A new mystery is introduced right away, and from there, the Cute Mutants are tested more than ever before.

Our enormous dream team of mutants is split up into two groups early on, so half the main characters are largely absent (though fear not, they do have their kickass moments too!). Fortunately, this was made up for with the introduction of new characters including Feral, a cute, hyper, wolf-cat-girl; Excalibur “Cally,” a brave warrior with a sword named Gwen (yes, Onimaru is very interested); and Abby, a former weapon of mass destruction who receives the full Cute Mutant Transformation. We also get to see a lot more of my precious, dangerous cinnamon roll, Violet a.k.a. Penance.

I just love Dylan as a protagonist. Their insecurities are so intensely relatable, and their quips and constant cursing are a joy to read. In this book, we get to see her grapple with themes that are heavier than ever. I could just feel their panic seeping off the page, and I definitely had some physical secondhand anxiety at times while reading.

One of my favorite parts of this series, and this book in particular, is Dani and Dylan’s relationship. They are just PERFECT together and their love is the most palpable thing. The Dani/Dylan themes that occur in this book are similar to the ones that occur in 1-3, but with added nuance largely due to the way the previous book ended. Dylan’s fear of losing Dani – as in, that either she won’t be good enough for Dani in the long run, or that Dani will soon die for real – is so realistic and palpable and every time I read about it, I get a lump in my throat. The good news is that it’s not all angst as far as Dani and Dylan go: the sweet, fluffy moments between them in this book are GOD-TIER and probably the best of the series so far!

This book heavily features one of my favorite mutants, Emma. After CM3, there was still so much we didn’t know about Emma, and in this book, we get to dive into her mystery some more. I won’t say much except that the powerful take-charge version of Emma is released. While I love Emma’s softer side, her badassery looks incredible on her.

There were a few moments in which characters’ actions confused me, and at some point I thought the pace was almost too fast for me to handle, but these minor quips did not detract from my overwhelmingly positive reading experience. The last fifty or so pages had me SHOOK and now I’m anxious to read the next books in the series: Weapon UwU Vol 1: Godkillers and Cute Mutants Vol 5: Galaxy Brain.

Content warnings are provided at the beginning of the book.

I received an ARC from SJ Whitby in exchange for an honest review.

I'm going to be writing a full review of this book later over at my blog, but for now, I am just screaming. I love this series so much. Every instalment has new amazing characters, new devastating heartbreaks. So much was revealed in Vol 4, big, world-changing things. I can't believe I have to wait to find out more. Poor S.J. is cracking these books out as fast as they can and I'm still holding a microphone and screaming "Faster!"

CW: graphic violence, death, hate crime, discrimination, gore.

(Thanks to the author for providing me with an advance copy in exchange for an honest review!)

As ever, I continue to have effortless enjoyment with this series. Whitby continues to stab me in the heart and get away with it. It should maybe be concerning how good they are at writing hurt/comfort dynamics, but it's the perfect combo for me. I'm eating these books up at an alarming rate (for me) and I'm afraid of what happens when I'm done. Though there are several spinoffs so I'm in no danger of that.

So Much Queer Mutant Fun!

I absolutely love this series. It's turned into one of my favorites, and it's incredibly difficult to put down! I relate so much to Dylan. And the found family in this series pretty much owns my heart.

Vol. 4 was a lot of fun. It had some twists and turns that I absolutely loved. There was a lot of mutant history, and we finally get to discover more about Emma's powers and origin, which is extremely exciting. And I was super excited to see even more character growth from Dani. The stakes are upped once again, and this time it's not something they can just hack and slash easily.

I can't wait to see where this goes with the spin-off and Vol. 5!

I beta read this gem of a book, sequel to one of my favorite series. In Vol 4, we have more mutants, more chaos, and are one giant leap closer to the truth. If you have enjoyed the series so far, this will not disappoint.

This one was a ride! I know I keep saying it, but this is such a great series and if you haven’t tried these books yet, love marvel, super powers, and fun pop culture references, pick them up!
CW/TW: Death, gun violence, homophobia, anxiety, misogyny, violence, murder

Vol. 4 starts off where Vol. 3 left off. The Cute Mutants potentially have more allies and a safe place to stay, but of course, not everything is as nice as it appears. There are still battles to fight and questions that need answers. The world continues to be divided on opinions of mutants, and when a dark vision of the future is viewed, the CM must decide their next actions.

Like the other books, there are more mutants introduced. For Vol. 3, I found it a bit chaotic and hard to follow everyone new. That was not the case with Vol. 4. Even though we meet new mutants, it was more manageable for my brain.

This volume was just as dark as the last. Mutants are dealing with a lot as more and more are exposed. But even with the dark plot, these are still fun reads. Dylan continues to be a great narrator. I love being able to see what is going on in their mind and seeing things from their POV.

I really enjoyed the last half of the book a lot (beginning too, but last half more)! The reader gets a lot of information and although I had my mouth open a lot while reading, I liked it. Although I have not yet, I am not excited to start Weapon UwU Vol 1: GodKillers, which is a spin off of the events from Vol. 4.

Welp, they've done it again! The Cute Mutants are back for a fourth time with more chaotic vibes, an even bigger villain to squash, and more than a few threats to their survival.

***There will be spoilers for CM3 in this review, so please read at your own risk***

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here we go!

This book picks up immediately after the events of the third instalment. Dylan has just executed a Quietus head operative on live television, solidifying global recognition of who the Cute Mutants are, and Dani was just resurrected from the dead. The gang is tired and hurt and just overall fed-up, so the discovery of a mutant haven in a cave system is something of a miracle. But we don't stay there long. This time, the Cute Mutants are going international with multiple stints to the US for assassinations, robberies and humanitarian aid. In other words, they're keeping themselves busy.

The last book set the reader up with the most questions we've ever had about mutants and those who hunt them, and we are finally getting closer to the truth. Is the mutant Teen Spirit really Emma's mom, and what does that mean for Emma? Who is this god character who brought Dani back, and why is he using her mouth to speak? And is Quietus really the worst villain the Cute Mutants can face? So many mysteries are starting to be unraveled in this book, so if you've been invested from the beginning this will be a great read for you.

As you would expect, one top of our familiar favourites, we meet a ton of new mutants in this secret mutant haven. There's one who has a perfect martini flowing through their veins instead of blood, and another who is just a sword but packs one hell of a punch. My new favourite mutant is one called Feral. She is part cat and yes, she is absolutely chaotic feralness and I love her, your honour. An excellent addition to the team. I have to give serious props to the author for having such an incredibly vast cast, and yet still managing to make everyone unique in their own way.

The last 80 pages are an absolute rollercoaster of emotion. Truly. I think my eyes bugged out of my head once a page because of the events that take place. It's intense and heartbreaking and just all-around INSANE! But I'm so intrigued about where the end result will take this series because not only does it lead us into the final book in the Cute Mutants series, but it paves the way for the first spin-off!

Full disclosure, my rating is rounded up from 4.5 because I do feel like it could have been tightened up. While each scene does serve a purpose, it does get a bit repetitive with the team coming home, then turning around and heading back out to attack a new location/group of people. It would have worked better if some have been combined. I also felt Dylan was a bit stagnant and lacking the incredible character development present in the previous three books.

Already eagerly awaiting CM 5!

TL;DR: Queerness, fun, and complex morality, but the weight of plot is perhaps getting too heavy for these books

I cannot fault Volume 4 for ambition, both in the amount of suphero ideas it weaves together and also in its interest in moral issues and the state of the world. But as the series has gone on, I have felt an increasing tension between my fondness for the characters and my dissatisfaction with how hectic the storytelling is. This entry had a few too many strange worldbuilding choices for me to feel as satisfied as before, and, while I appreciate the ethical aspect, I worry it has overstretched itself, coming out more muddled than profound. The climax has some odd beats, and the spinoff set-up is a little blunt, as generally the comic-booky serial feel is growing, which probably is perfect for some readers, but not me. I still find the queer cast so wonderful, and the pages fly by, but this is not quite the same series I fell in love with.

4 / 5 Stars

First things first:

I loved the previous books. I loved this book. And I'd recommand them all.

Now, onto the review.
I finished the book, gave it 5 stars, and have now returned to reduce my rating, because the ending bothered me.
There were other things in there as well, that I didn't like as much, but the ending was the one thing that pushed me in the 4 star direction.

So anyways, this entry is the most dark & brutal one as of yet. There was one scene in there, were Dani was soaked in blood and killing people like a godess of death and it made me stopp because - for one, the scene was hella badass, but also: It's crazy to think how our team has changed over time. Remember back when fighting someone took all of the team coming together? When one dude had the power to kill them all? When killing someone was actually a big deal?

I'm not complaining about the darkness of the book. That's not really my issue. If Dylan wants to become Magneto and slaughter all of humankind, good for them. Good for them. It's just that this book felt - at times, not always - more like a settup for what's to come - aka Galaxy Brain & Weapon UwU. I was kind of missing one big uniting enemy. Someone the team was actually struggling against. It feels like we're kinda fighting everyone and noone. Which might have been what the book wanted me to feel. Since change isn't happening over night after all.
Still. I've had that issue in the past, - see: Dylan killing that one big bad guy they were fighting all book long in one chapter - but in this one, were it's fight after fight after fight, it has started to bother me more. I guess since Galaxy Brain is the last book in the series, I won't have to fear that something like this happens again, but I still wanted to bring it up.
Especially since there WAS some kind of big bad guy that we fought and struggled against. And yet, at the same time, there wasn't. Because: the ending.
I liked the settup, the plot twist(s) & the enormous power this person was holding.
Since the next part might be too spoiler-heavy, I'll hide my complaints. But, in a spoiler-free-complaint format: The ending felt cheap. Dylan was making mistakes and they didn't get punished for them. The ending we got didn't feel earned and I wasn't happy with how things turned out. Dylan isn't perfect and they are allowed to make mistakes. Even horrible, PTSD-inducing mistakes. But, if that's the route the author wants to go, they should stick to that route. And not

We meet a lot of knew mutants and they are all really cool. It's funny how the book ended and I felt like I had spent way more than one book with them. But no, it was truly just one.
Emma is amazing in this one. And I'm very happy for her. She deserves all the love.
The world-building & backstory is also very amazing in this one. We get a lot of shocking answers to stuff. The human vs. mutant thing is heating up and war is this close to happening, I can literaly feel it on my tongue allready.

I'm very excited for the next book(s) and I can't wait to see how everything is going to unfold.

We meet a lot of

The Sisterhood of Evil Mutants by SJ Whitby is the fourth entry in The Cute Mutants Series and is decidedly darker than the previous books. Volume four finds Dylan and company in West Haven, a clandestine refuge for mutants.

And while Whitby introduces several new characters, they reduce most of them to either cannon fodder or bit players, which was a shame.

I also didn’t like Whitby’s choice to split the Cute Mutants into two groups later in the book, as it robbed the story of the camaraderie and group dynamics that made the previous books so fun to read.

Dylan, Dani, Emma, Alyse, and newcomer Feral (a hybrid of Wolverine and Beast from the X-Men) form the first group and begin robbing banks connected to DainTree, the in-universe version of Google/Amazon. They then donate that money to various charitable causes to improve the PR of Mutant kind, after a group of Mutants claiming to be affiliated with Dylan and the Cute Mutants carry out a terrorist attack on Washington DC.

The second team; that stays behind in West Haven; comprises Lou, Maddison, Gladdy, and Katie.

This could have worked if there were chapters following the second group. Instead, readers only follow Dylan’s group, leaving you wondering about the safety of those back in West Haven.

I enjoyed the political intrigue within West Haven and wished we saw more of Dylan and Dani locking head with Mystic and Far Sight, members of the council that decide what issues to bring up for votes, before the group split.

Dylan’s interaction with memory-erasing therapist Ray, were also nice to read as while they talked about Dylan’s trauma and other issues, Ray also gave them cryptic clues to the dangers hiding in West Haven and the machinations of the council.

It was also nice that we finally learned the mystery behind Emma, her powers, and her parents you in this book. Though, I predicted the plot twist near the end and thought the ending edged into Deus ex machina territory with how several characters' deaths were reversed, like it was nothing.

Overall, while I did like this book, it wasn’t as fun as the previous ones and it has become clear to me anyone who isn’t Dylan or in their immediate friend circle doesn’t matter, which is sad as it was the OG team that initially drew me into the series.

I will read the next in the series, but I’ll lower my expectations re: other characters getting their time to shine.
I give Cute Mutants Vol. 4 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.

Another adventure of the Cute Mutants full with madness, love, friendship and a lot of blood.

After killing Abigail Tanner, they followed some mutants through a portal to a save space for mutants. They have rules but Dylan and the Cute Mutants obviously still do their own thing. They go after Quietus, they make a (positive and negative) name for themselves and that all while a mysterious 'God' starts talking to Dylan through Dani.

So, first of all. I kinda like how the team got divided into two teams. We still see the others occasionally but this did give us the time to connect more with a new member of the team named Feral (who I absolutely love btw, she fits the team so well).

Honestly everything was so good. The plot is probably my favorite of the books so far. I was so scared for all the characters all the time. The stakes were so high.
I really like how we see Dylan actually struggling with what's good and not. They kill, they steal and sometimes they look more like a supervillain. They always have good intentions but they don't mind shedding blood to achieve those intentions. Anywho, Dylan is very relatable and I absolutely love them.

The ending really scared me.

This series really gets better and better every book. I'm excited to read the spin-off Weapons UWU but I don't think I'm ready to read the last book.

Oh my fucking lord, what did I just read?!

I definitely reckon this is the best book in the series thus far. I mean, how not when she packs so much intrigue, plot and characterisation in?

If you think that basically resolving the Quietus issue in the first quarter of this book will cause this middle section to lag, then you just haven't been paying attention to the layering writing that SJ does in these novels.

That just makes space for us to find out about Emma's history and the mutants who were both of her parents. Mythology in this world is about to get real explicit and relevant to the plot.

The only downside I really felt when it came into this one was, as ever, the lack of time and place specific descriptions. Oh, they're killer when it comes to characters, humour, plot. But there were three main locations in this. I kinda get it when there's little description of Christchurch, because that's just where these characters all come from.

But the Quietus building? Some place in America. No state or defining characteristics of location given.

I'm not even sure we got that much for the mutant refuge that's already been put together and far more advanced than anything Chatterbox has been striving towards. Given it's a secret location for the safety of the mutants, I feel okay not knowing the exact location. But Chatterbox is a curious type and I can't really have seen her not even taking a good look at the surroundings and guessing their location based on this or that movie that had a similar kind of backdrop.

This book has more twists and turns than even the one before it. I feel as though I just went on a freaking rollercoaster of plot while reading this. No one is safe in this world at this point. SJ Whitby will be taking no prisoners at this time.

While I did kind of enjoy this book, I think volume 4 was probably my least favourite entry into the Cute Mutants series so far. There were so many conflicts popping up that got resolved so quickly. The big bad Quietus organisation was defeated at the beginning. There were mutants being held captive who were all liberated within a few pages. Then there was a cure that turned out not to exist. Emma's mum was kidnapped by Westhaven but the Cute Mutants managed to save her right away and then we never heard about her again, despite her turning out to be a very important figure in mutant history. I also would have liked to see the Cute Mutants spend more time in Westhaven and integrating into this secret society of mutants. But instead they're immediately accepted by everyone but the few characters we're supposed to dislike anyway and they hardly spend any time there.

And don't even get me started on the Amethyst was actually Emma's evil mutant god parent all along reveal. You mean the antagonistic character that our protagonists hated from the get go is actually... a bad guy? Shocking *heavy sarcasm*.

In short it felt like Whitby just wanted to do too much with this volume that it fell quite flat for me. Here's hoping volume 5 can be a redemption.

For a little while, I did not think this book was going to get five stars. Much as I was enjoying it, there seemed to be a lack of focus, as if S.J had a bunch of different plots and wasn't sure which to focus on.

And then, I reached the final stretch.

Oh my God, I have never been so blown away. Everything that up until then I had been worried was just loose threads came together so wonderfully I wanted to go back in time and smack myself for ever doubting that book four would follow in the footsteps of the previous three Cute Mutant stories.

Starting right where the last book ended, our favorite team of mutants have found a safe haven- a place where they and others of their kind can live in relative peace. But of course, things can never be that easy. Revelations about their pasts, the true origin of their abilities, and the fact that Chatterbox and their friends aren't exactly fans of authority means that shit hits the fan before you know it.

The Sisterhood of Evil Mutants has some great moments, so epic action scenes, and leaves you wondering just where the next book will take the team. I for one am looking forward to it.

Five well-earned stars.

From a series that started out rather lighthearted and fun, it had gotten darker and dark from each book until it's gotten damn well nihilistic. It's gotten kind of comical (not in the comic book kind of way) with how cartoonishly villainous the antagonists are. The body count the protagonists are dropping is downright ludicrous, and the big twist of the book is pulled directly from and they never lampshaded it, despite the whole series was predicated on the concept of 'what if comic book nerds got super powers?'. I mean, I still *like* the characters. That's the series strong suit. That and its queer representation, but as the series goes on, the flaws just start to get magnified and it's gotten to the point to where I can't recommend them. The first book, yes. Absolute must read. The others? Read at your own risk. 3 stars.

PS.
I had bought the entire series after I read the first book, so I'm gonna finish it despite everything else, if nothing else to see how it all ends.

Alexa, play "Supremacy" by Muse.

This was such a good read after Handmaid's Tale, because the world is just as fucked up but at least we are doing something. We're fighting back, we have hope, we have love.

I can never recommend these books enough. If you're queer and angry at the world, read this series, you won't regret it!

"Her hands are so tiny, but she always wants to throw them."

Also: after every Volume I think to myself "it can't get more fucked up and wild than this" and then everything just escalates to unknown levels of fucked up. Idk how I'll survive the last one, oh God, have mercy. Or maybe not God. To them I can only quote "There you go, God. I think you've got your answer. Go fuck yourself."

My brain is still trying to figure everything that is happening. A fast paced read with a lot of action packed in.

It was a rollercoaster of a ride. It answered questions about Emma's power along with the constant theme of "Magneto was right". More bloodshed and new friends were made along the way. Our Cute Mutants keep getting stronger and stronger with each challenge and I am a big fan of the love they have for each another.

I think the writing improved and matured a lot like Dylan. There was a lot of things happening though at a rapid pace but it kept me turning page after page.

There's still a lot of work to get done and I can't wait to see what happens in Volumn 5.

This. Book. From a hot British lady wielding a magic sword, to the world’s most adorable rainbow tank, to some UTTERLY MIND BLOWING reveals, CM4 had me tearing up both in its soft moments and its sad moments. All our favourite mutants are back (and more badass than ever), along with a whole host of new characters to love and hate, and Dylan’s voice is as punchy and relatable as ever. Without spoiling anything, the ending blew me away, and I cannot WAIT to see what happens to the Cute Mutants next. 💖

It's not an easy thing to achieve balancing brutal, gory fight scenes with adorable, sappy moments between friends without dissonance, but this series manages it. I loved meeting new mutants and discovering more awesome, incredibly creative superpowers. But I have to say that it felt a bit overkill for every single adult (with perhaps one exception) to be either useless or corrupt. Otherwise, a very satisfying story for those who dream of finding their found family or of smashing the patriarchy and then setting it on fire.

I love these books so much. They are always a wild ride from start to finish, but the baddies just keep getting bigger and badder, especially in volume 4. I was stunned when several things came to a climax (I won't spoil it) and I was only 25% of the way through the book. Everything from volumes 1-3 came together in volume 4 in such a complex and fascinating way. I can't wait for volume 5 and the upcoming spinoff. And I still need Cute Mutants merchandise!

Great continuation to the series. The stakes are getting higher, things are getting more complicated for the Cute Mutants, but amongst all of that, they are getting some answers as well. Plenty of action, lots of cute and adorable moments, and lots of growth as well. Well written and engaging just like the previous books, and looking forward to reading the last book of this series (and then all of the others, and the next series too).

THE CUTE MUTANTS UNIVERSE JUST KEEPS GETTING BIGGER AND BETTER!!!!!!! I once again had the best (and most terrifying omg I was so scared for the gang) time with this series. Every time I think I knows what's going on, I don't. And every time I think this series is at its best, I was wrong because the next book knocks it out of the park. I literally don't think I can say anything other than I loved it because SPOILERS! AND OH MAN ARE THERR SOME JUICY ONES IN THIS BOOK!!!!

I need a rainbow tank

I need to go back and review the first three but this series is fantastic. For the queer teen who didn’t know herself and the angry adult who knows too much, it’s exactly the magic, hope, and fight song my heart needs in these times. This particular book helped get me through a rough week. Thank you SJ Whitby for writing the heroes we deserve!
