Assassin's Vegeance

The plot twists of all these books are good but editing before posting on this format is not so good.

Good Read. Not a Great Read But A Solid One.

My actual rating would be 3.5 Stars, but fractions aren’t allowed, so it gets a 4Star Rating.

Overall it was good enough to keep me reading, even though I found it a bit slow, and lacking luster.

It’s also my first read by this author, so I’ll read the next two books in order to give the series a fair chance.

Cautiously Recommended.

Short on and action and short on content.

Been waiting for this book as I thought it would put a bow around the first two books. It
didn't at all. It was to short and incomplete as far as the story line goes. Read the first two books and you will see what I mean. The author did not reward fans at all in book 3.

Plot and characters were good. I’ve never read book with more spelling/typo errors.

I really liked the characters and the fast paced action! Have read the 1st three books back to back. I’d have given the book a 4 or a 5, but am sick of the typos! He has one of the characters in a location and mistakenly he uses another characters name for her. Or when he mentions Istanbul as the Turkish capital. Newsflash: Istanbul is not the Turkish capital, but rather Ankara.
Maybe I’m nitpicking, but all the typos and errors just disrupted the flow of a pretty good story for me.
I’m about to start Book 4 and I hope he got a proofreader for this one!

Needs an editor

The storyline is interesting but sloppy work by the author. Ruby shot in calf in 2nd book shows her stomach wound in the 3rd book; blue eyes of aksana were green in book 1; first, drake's father dead at 3 then he is raiding farms w his brother at age "6 or 7" while his dad was alive; istanbul not capital of turkey; silly gambit by collin at the end which makes 0 sense except to propagate storyline clumsily; I ll read book #4 bc of sunk cost at this point, but if more of the same won't do #5.

Jason is hiding on the beach in Thailand but keeping "in touch" with Ruby in Deadwood very sporadically. She is going to help him come home all the while eluding the CIA.

Meanwhile, a smuggler of arms/bombs to anti Russian soldiers in Ukraine is caught, taken to be interrogated and the only thing he says is Jason Drake. Kate Price, Jason's former boss/friend gets an intercept with that information and sends someone to see Ruby and then find Jason.

Turns out the smuggler is important to Jason, and he agrees to liberate him from the interrogation facility all the while being hunted by a killer from Lotus (an American company) that will probably be in the next book.

It's not as riveting as advertised but an ok read.

I couldn't believe it... to keep Jason involved in the story with CIA, his supposedly dead brother appears in Ukraine.
While I like reading this singletone operators books, and I liked reading this one, this serie is bringing too many characters everybody thinks are dead to make the story works.
I was entertained reading this book but there is really nothing surprising me and the plots are "too standard.

Don't buy into this

It took me to the end if book 3 to realize that I was being manipulated into spending more money in buying more sequels than I would have spent on a hard bound book. As much as I wanted to see what I hoped would be the end of this series, I decided not to spend even more money. To put it plainly, I'm pi---ed!

The past always catches up

Jason finds out his brother is alive. He’s torn between mostly anger and love of his brother. Of course, he’s got himself arrested in an Ukrainian fortress known to be impenetrable. He not only gets in but goes on a goose chase to Istanbul. In the end, another carrot is dangling in exchange for one more mission.

The storyline was interesting as were the characters. The story moved at a good pace too. The problem I had with the book was that the writing seemed to be amateurish; as if the author was from another country and culture and was using words in translation to write the book. I purchased the next book at the same time as the this one but it will be my last Auston King book.

Drake is back!

I loved the first two books in the series and couldn’t wait for this one. The story explodes off the blocks and doesn’t mess around. It’s a great read that I couldn’t put down and was a very satisfying read. Loved this!

Excellent story lines, plot twists, and character development.

For a new indie author I feel like Auston has done a great job. I am on book four and have enjoyed them all. There are some editing issues but no more than a lot of other books I have read. There are a few continuity issues between books but I am willing to overlook them as that happens with a lot of authors. I stopped reading mainstream books because they were all predictable. These books have been unpredictable and that is the fun of reading.

Get an editor!!!!

A good story ruined by horrible spelling and grammatical errors. Probably my last book by this author. Why write a book and allow an absolutely horrible editing to ruin it?

Its ok

Light read when you want a book just to entertain at a basic level. With zero expectations knowing it wont be anywhere near Tom Clancy.

Eeeeh

Poorly edited, poorly written with barely believable plot twists. The author has rung every bit of mileage out of this character and run out of gas.

Mediocre

So full of errors it's almost comical. BTW Istanbul is not the calital of Turkey. Disorganized and hanging plotlines, but i read to the end.

What do you get when your smuggling bad stuff to rebels in Ukraine?

Colin Drake is almost clear when the authorities swoop in and arrest all the client's minions and him as well!
