A CEDAR COVE DAD’S ADVICE

She set up an online dating profile and before she knew it, she was going on a date. What she didn’t know was that she would be catfished. Is there any chance to salvage her dreams and achieve the one goal she’s always dreamed of: love?

What's more, her biological father doesn't have long to live, and Molly has to decide whether she wants to meet him before it's too late. Will she make the right decision?

This is three short stories, and this is a collection of short stories with the characters for Cedar Cove. I think the short stories where cute, and I enjoyed being back in Cedar Cove again. I wish the short stories where a little bit longer. The whole book was only 55 pages, and the first short story was 25 pages long. This book just left me wanting more. (*)
I was very excited to learn of a collection of short stories as I loved all the novels in the setting of Cedar Cove and series of the same name and later watched each episode of the three (3) seasons of the series on the Hallmark Channel (2013-2015). I didn't realize until reading the author's latest newsletter that the stories written and published for her digital magazine are now available on Amazon. I didn't read the March newsletter until yesterday (April 1, 2021) but as soon as I read the announcement, I clicked over to Amazon, made my purchase, and read the stories as my first pleasure of bedtime reading.
One of the special treats about this purchase was to read the author's note, "Before the Story." For all fans of the "Cedar Cove" Series it is of particular delight and I hope all who become interested in reading the series through the short stories will also take the time to read this feature. There is information related to the significance of the street addresses for the titles in the series, highlights of some of the cover art, and also why the series is as special to the author as it has become to her readers.
Debbie Macomber's gift of storytelling is through heartwarming characters she shares what is meaningful in every person's life of family and friends and the connections that endure over a lifetime even as they are challenged by relationship changes due to work from business owner to employee to unemployment, to infertility to raising children to empty nest, to illness, to death. A storyteller that gives hope is an inspiration. Debbie Macomber's storytelling is inspiring whether a short story or a novel as the characters created are always people we would either like to know or perhaps use an example of how he/she moved through a challenge as an example of hope.
I can't think of another author that I would more highly recommend to refresh one's spirit of hope.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌲🏖 A Cedar Cove Dad's Advice ⭐️⭐️⭐️👨 A Fresh New Year ⭐️⭐️⭐️🎊 Daddy's Girl ⭐️⭐️⭐️🧬
My thoughts:
A Cedar Cove Dad's Advice - This story features Eddie Cox, of 311 Pelican Court, 20 years later with marital problems of his own at a new address, he seeks advice from Zack.
A Fresh New Year - I was guessing this Matt is from 8 Sandpiper Way but he has the wrong last name, so I guess just all new people.
Daddy's Girl - New characters, I was wondering if it was tied to a Rose Harbor book but it was different people.
I'm in the middle of 8 Sandpiper Way but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to read this book as it's hard to find. So I wanted to read it while I had KU. These stories are set 20 years after the first Cedar Cove book. Eddie, a kid in book 3 is now in his late twenties. I was expecting more kids to show up but that didn't happen. I should have known because Debbie would have given them the same introduction she gave Eddie. I was happy with the update on Allison, not sure how far she goes in the series. Overall the stories are okay, nothing good or bad just nice. I enjoyed A Fresh New Year the most.
Recommend to others: Maybe, I would say only if you're crazy about the series.

I really enjoyed the Cedar Cover series by Debbie Macomber and when i saw this Kindle book, I had to buy it. These short stories each have a connection to someone in one of the original Cedar Cover books. It's a fast fun read and if you enjoyed the series, you need to read this.
More like 3 1/2 stars, but I rounded up since I like Debbie Macomber so much. I enjoyed these 3 very short stories, but I really wanted more from each. It was like going to a tasting rather than a full-blown meal...not quite as satisfying as I had hoped. The first story seemed the most complete. The second and third were way shorter and left me with many more questions than answers. I liked them but I really wanted more.
The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character oriented storyline that has no steam, like we expect from Debbie Macomber. The characters were engaging and you want to see them do well. I guess I wouldn't have been so disappointed if I hadn't liked the characters and the premise so much. So get this for a taste, but go back to the Cedar Cove series for the full meal. They are in most libraries, I would expect. That will let you know if you want these for yourself.
I really love the Cedar Cove series! Such heartwarming and fun stories to read! Set in the small fictional town of Cedar Cove, Washington, I always picture walking around this lovely sounding town and getting to know each of its residents.
This book contained three short stories about residents living in this quaint little town. I especially enjoyed Ed and Emma's story. It was nice to read about Zach and Rosie after first meeting them in book 2 and then learning their story mode in book 3. The advice that Zach gives and how Ed has handled his marriage made me smile. In fact, all three stories made me smile. I highly recommend this book if you enjoyed the Cedar Cove series.
I had been looking forward to this for a while. However, with the exception of the first story, none of the other characters meant anything to me. I really couldn't recall them and would have no idea which story they were originally from....if my assumption that they were in a previous story was correct. I was a bit disappointed with this one. The last story felt especially rushed, like it was written to make this longer. I usually really like Debbie Macomber's books, but this was not one of them.
I think I was expecting more. More in depth about characters I knew & remembered. This is like a whole new set of people who moved to Cedar Cove & have nothing to do with anyone there - it’s their new stories. I failed to feel the connection at all. Nice stores but it didn’t remind me or bring me back to the Cedar Cove and the people - characters- I once loved and cared about. I was disappointed.
I started reading the first story and I couldn’t stop reading. I loved each story and even though they were very short you felt as if you knew each character well. I think that if I hadn’t fell asleep while reading it probably took an hour to read the whole book. Love you Debbie and the wonderful stories you create.
I have always admired the way you wrote, after reading your books. As much as I enjoyed these 3 stories, I would like to go back and read the original stories! These were like a teaser. I’d like to know the Titles of these 3 original stories. I would really appreciate it. Thank you. Doris Dawson-Smith
This book contains three very short stories that were originally published in Debbie’s digital magazine and are now available to those who don’t subscribe to the magazine. It’s a quick, clean read with second chances, forgiveness, love and three HEAs.
These stories are very good and all Debbie Macomber books are my favorites. She tells about real life and she is so good putting on paper. You will enjoy please read.
What a great feeling reading about cedar cove again and reilalizing how much I miss those books I have read all of your books Debbie and loved all of them I highly recommend these short stories to everyone Dorothy Schaefer
It was great to return to Cedar Cove. There are three short stories, only one of which connected to the original series. That was the best of the three. The other two were okay, just not what I expected from the author.
I have always loved MS Macomber's books and these three short stories were great. I haven't read many of her most recent ones due to the price but this one was a great price and glad I did
None of the characters in this book reminded me of Cedar Cove. They were new. That was find for me because anything written by Debbie Macomber is something that I weirdly want to read. This was a great collection of stories. I really enjoyed this book.
I loved catching up with Ed and his family. I liked the other stories too. Debbie is a great story teller. I have read all the Cedar Cove books, and also really enjoyed the Cedar Cove series on TV.
I loved the Cedar Creek series and enjoyed these short stories. I like how the first story explained which book in the series the characters were from. I wish the other stories included the background.
In all , family seems to be hub holding each story together. Don’t assume, the 24 hour rule is a good one. Length of each was great, perfect for that short and uplifting Moment we all need. Thank you Debbie Macomber!
I love the cedar cove series. This book is new characters and only one of the stories takes place in Cedar Cove. They were good stories, but definitely not at all what I was expecting based on the title.
I’ve always enjoyed Ms Macomber’s stories and especially the Cedar Grove series. These three short stories again reminded me of how much I like them. Stories that are good, believable and make you feel good when you’ve finished. Thanks.
Loved reading these quick short stories by Debbie Macomber! Was a good revisit back to 311 Pelican Street characters! Always a good story teller, her short stories are as enticing as her novels!
I have not read any of her books for over ten years. Reading this was like revisiting an old friend. I forgot how much I like the way her writes. I will be getting more. Very happy.
