HOPE FOR THE GRIEVING GRANDPARENT: Finding Comfort In Scripture After The Loss Of A Grandchild

Rate this book
No grandparent should ever outlive their grandchild. This is universally believed to be true. Even the thought of a grandchild dying before us goes against everything we hold dear, it is almost unthinkable. So what do we do when the unthinkable happens? -How many of us will actually have to face this horrifying tragedy? -If we are confronted with it, how do we go on? -Will we be able to survive it? -Will we ever be happy again? -Is there any help for us? These are all questions Susan Reynaud Price and her husband, Pat had to face when their beloved 12 year old grandson died in a car accident in 2009. Finding no helpful books directed at grandparents, Susan searched the Bible to find the solace and answers she so desperately needed. She found comfort in the scriptures which gave her a life-line to grab onto and walk with the only One who truly understands our pain. She discovered that the Bible is full of people who have lived and loved-and who have lost and survived. There are scriptures to walk you through each phase of the grieving process. In this brutally honest account of the first year of grieving the death of a grandchild, Susan shares the scriptures that kept her “head above water” and walked her through the healing process. Discover, as she did, that God does not ever leave us nor forsake us, just as He has promised.

This book was just what I needed to hear from God following the death of our 2 Grandsons. There is not much out there for grieving grandparents, but this one hits the mark.
