I was the worst witch at Primrose Academy. Until a guardian chose me for his mate…
Every day is a battle to keep my place. The Legacy witches laugh at my magical accidents. My own friends cringe when I get called on in class. And even though the professors say powers like mine are difficult to restrain, I know it’s only a matter of time before I’m stripped of my school colors and sent home in shame.
I might be able to harness the weather one day, but right now I can’t even control my own life.
The only escape is in my dreams, where a beautiful man with golden eyes haunts my mind and warms my body. But it’s only a dream…
Until the night of the Choosing Ceremony, when he appears in real life to make me his mate.
But as much as I crave his touch (and I really, really do), my friends need our help. If we don’t hunt down a list of magical ingredients in time to stop a dangerous spell, hell will rain down on us all.
The situation is desperate enough that they even want ME, and my jacked up, unpredictable magic, fighting on their side.
But my power comes at a terrible price - a price that could be fatal to Reed. So if I love him, I have to resist the mating bond.
If only the stubborn bear shifter wasn’t willing to face down death itself to make me his.
This story is chocked full of action, adventure, suspense and magic. My heart breaks for Cori because she feels like the worst witch at school and doesn’t seem to fit in. Reed is absolutely perfect for her, so patient and his devotion to Cori. He has underlying vulnerabilities also but they just complement each other so well. Navigating a new relationship is hard enough without the evil the order is trying to stir up. Can’t wait for the next installment of the fascinating series!!!
There is 2 sides of her that seems like 1 can b more skittish and vulnerable and 1 that's strong and vertsile. At 1st she is scared and makes things more complicated than necessary but 1 gorgeous bear shifter changes her 4 the better when the x comes and she has 2 decide what to do in a split second and she makes the best decision cause of the future she wants even if it costs her the love she thinks that may never come until it's 2 late. She makes it happen
She wanted to use her talent she wanted to succeed in witch school. Unfortunately, like her stumbling in life, she also stumbled in her witching. She was supposed to learn how to use her talent. The bullying didn't help either. Then she was chosen by the most beautiful man--a guardian. Was her life turning around?
His terrifying youth left him only comfortable in his bear form. He walked as a man when he had to. Then he found the most beautiful woman. The guardians rarely found their mates among the student witches. His friend had. Now it was his turn. Would she accept him or would his animal scare her away?
Working together to protect the school and the world from a fierce enemy they build a relationship. Is it enough? The bigger question is will they live long enough to find a relationship.
A story with lots going on and great characters as well as some not so likable ones (but then you gotta have some bad guys and some just not-so-nice characters to make things interesting). I loved the not perfect but loveable couple. And I have to say something about the cute furry creatures. Waiting to find out what happens to one of the mean girls next.
Bear Charm is the second book and it had me hooked from start to finish. I loved Cori and Reed. Cori is the awkward unsure student at Primrose Academy. She hasn’t mastered her magic yet. And whenever she has a magic assignment in and out of class it always goes wrong. Cori may not be good at honing in her magic skills but she’s an amazing young lady. She’s loyal and smart. She will go out of her way for others and gives wholeheartedly of herself. But Cori still wants to fit in and be accepted and respected by her peers for her magical abilities. Reed is a growly bear shifter. He’s mostly away from his brothers, guarding the academy from the tower. He leans towards the grumpy loner side. But with him finding Cori his mate. The bear is about to change. Reed’s softer side starts shining through when he finds his mate,Cori. His patience is boundless and his love for her so unselfish. They are an awesome couple. While trying to navigate their new relationship and their insecurities. They also are dealing with the evil that the order is causing. I’m really enjoying this series!
This is the second book in the series and it really continues on one of the story lines from the first book. Bear Charm is Cori and Reeds story and contains and venture as they continue to try to stop the dark side from gaining power.
I love Cori. She a super powerful witch in training that can't control all of her power (she has the power of weather) and lacks confidence. She sees herself as a unhelpful and a mess. Reed is perfect for her in every way. He is one of the protectors and a bear shifter but he sees how amazing Cori is even before she does. He supports, encourages and never doubts her. Even though he is a bear shifter and actually is usually more comfortable in bear form he is super gentle and loving with Cori.
I really like Cori comes into her own in this story and how Reed loves her the whole time.
If you liked the first book in this series, Wolf Spell, don't wait to read this one.
Cori is a sweet character we meet in the first book of this series. Sweet, kind and considerate, but frustrated at her own lack of control with her magic. Discouraged at her limits, her schooling and her life in general, she is surprised when she is matched with the mysterious Reed. Reed is a guardian tasked with protecting the magical library. Gruff and isolated, he prefers his animal form over interacting with people to protect him from being hurt again. I loved watching the two both face their own challenges and grow as both a couple and with their confidence. This second story of the series is well written and kept my attention. It is fairly fast paced, and has angst and action that was quite entertaining. I look forward to seeing how the overarching storyline progresses. Great book.
Omg! “Bear CHARM” is the 2nd fantastic, must read in the new ‘Shifters Bewitched’ world! ... Another original, fresh new storyline, relatable characters, clever dialogue and vivid descriptions that bring them to life! ... The slow burn chemistry between the H/h, Reed & Cori had me glued to my seat not wanting to stop cheering them on to find their HEA! ... Even tho I always volunteer to read Ms. Black’s books prior to the release date, it is without any outside influences. So yes, I can honestly recommend this to 18+ adult fans of fiction & now I can’t wait for the next one, but of course I will ; )
I just finished reading Cori and Reeds story, Bear Charm: shifters Bewitched #2 and I must say I throughly enjoyed this story. I felt like I was actually watching Cori come into her own magic and felt Reed’s anguish when he thought he had lost Cori for good. I must say, as much as I enjoyed Bella and Luke’s story, I must agree with what my uncle would have said, this one was more better, and while it’s not proper english, it does fit. I would like to thank Ms Tasha Black for allowing me to read this book for free in exchange for nothing more then ,y own honest opinion of the book. Thank you Ms Black for another fantastic read!!
Loads of powerful magic, action and adventure. Reed is astonishingly charming, his devotion, determination and support of his mate is swoon-worthy. My heart went out to Cori as she struggles with finding acceptance and her fit. Reed is perfect for her and very patient with her. Intense and surprising twists so prepared to be wow'd as you get to know these two as the mystery continues as well as get some academy insights! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book gave me one serious case of the feels!! Cori and Reed totally stole my heart! Cori was so easy to connect with and sympathize with. Her insecurities and struggles felt so genuine and so completely relatable. Reed was the perfect combination of hot, heart melting and swoon worthy. The story had no problem pulling me in and keeping me engaged. Both my heart and my mind were invested in not only this couple but in the outcome of the book. I'm really looking forward to the next book. This is my independent, impartial review.
This is standalone book but so much better when read in a series. Wow! I have loved the many series of Tasha Black and this is no different. A witch with control issues (magic is harder than it looks) and a bear shifter who is both mighty and vulnerable, and evil to be stopped. Throw in romance, friendship and wonderful characters. Bravo!!
I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Bear Charm is the second book in the Shifters Bewitched series. Cori is a powerful witch in training but can't manage to control all of her power, lacks any self confidence. Reed is one of the protectors, whom she has been matched with as her mate. He is usually more comfortable in bear form and can see how amazing Cori is as she comes into her own in this story. A wonderful story that will keep you entertained.
This second book in the Shifters Bewitched series is so good. Cori believes she is the worst witch at school. Reed has his own fears. But put these two together and lightening strikes. I really enjoyed this book. So much action. This book moves pretty fast and I like it that way. I can't wait to read Kendall 's story next.
“A fantastic paranormal romance! I couldn’t stop reading. The story was full of action, magic and love. This was book two of the series though I didn’t read the first one. I absolutely enjoyed book two. The story was great with all the intrigue and romance. The chemistry was insane and delightful to read. Wonderful story.”
Fantastic paranormal romance! Love it! These are great characters.. The magic, danger, and romance are just the right recipe... to thrill the senses and warm the heart.. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This story is great, it's entertaining and filled with action, adventure, and intrigue. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Jumping into this story was just what I needed. It had so much insecurity between both main characters that I felt sorry for them. The things they had to go through were heart wrenching but they came out stronger in the end.
Cori and Reed have become my favorites so far. The strength and the love blew me away. Such a great story this series has become I can’t wait for the next book with Kendall’s story
This is the second book in the Shifters Bewitched series. Cori is a witch and a student at Primrose Academy but she is the worst witch there. Her powers are unpredictable at best and uncontrollable at worst. Her professors tell he,r powers like hers are hard to control but she will grow into them over time. Then the night of the Choosing ceremony Cori finds herself face to face with a gigantic bear, she has been chosen. This could be a good thing, she can leave Primrose Academy with her new mate before the headmistress tells her to leave since her powers are so unpredictable. But Cori needs to help her friends fight the evil that is trying to bring the Raven King back. All magic has a cost and Cori's cost is her memory. Depending on how much magic she uses she will be a little confused or really confused but the memories has always come back over time. If the witches use too much magic, go beyond their limits they could pay the ultimate price for their magic, in Cori's case that would be the loss of all her memories. When the battle finals comes the witches are having a hard time keeping up and Cori has to decide what to do. Will she use just enough magic to help her friends and mate or will she make the ultimate sacrifice to save her mate and friends? I love this book, this is an amazing story with wonderful characters and strong women. Tasha Black has done it again, this is a must read.
This is one of those stories that just touches your heart. It involves friendship, love, and the ultimate sacrifice. Making for an ending that’s bittersweet and so emotional the HEA will stick with you for days. I love the characters, and the way the author manages to keep them all active and intertwined in the overarching storyline. She brought more excitement and danger to the story with this book and left me wanting more. This was the perfect weekend read and I can’t wait to see what happens in book three.
Cora is awaken by a dream but then she feel a pull to go to the tower where she hears the sound of a roar and find’s claw marks in the door. Then something big hits the door. The next night is the ceremony of the Guardians and the bear shifter chooses her. Cora know who it is Reed and she’s not afraid of him. While getting things for a spell to stop the bad guys things go a little crazy. So enjoy the read and see what they go through and what still to come!!
Cori feels lost and confused. Reed has lost a lot in his life. Together, they find the strength to overcome obstacles that seem insurmountable. Cori has friends that are counting on her. When powers unite the unimaginable happens in a variety of ways. It’s best to read in order. This is the second book.
Better than last. Liked these chatachters more. Liked that they actually interacted and worked together. Liked the memory issues as a payment of magic and that Reed also had issues to work through. I liked the charachter growth of both. But still felt too thin, and not in depth enough. Fast read
Wow his one was even better Han the first one. The story line and characters were interesting and easy to follow. I can’t wait to read the next book in this exciting series. Way to go Tasha Black, another winner.!
The story continues to build on the magical realm of Witches and Guardian Shifters. I loved getting to know learn more of this world and, though the story was focused on
