My life is in a tailspin. My soul hijacked by a demon, and my power is out of control.
With so many dangers around every corner, even being the heir to the Dominance Coven can't save me from the forces at work.
Being pulled in two different directions by my heart just makes everything so much worse. With deceptions at each turn, and traitors still amongst us, can I trust the demon who showed me his darkest side, or do I trust the hunter who already broke my heart once before?
Except my heart isn't the only thing at risk here, and what if I'm the one no one should trust?
Sloane Murphy is a writer, dreamer, fur mom and crime documentary addict who has developed an unhealthy appreciation for cheesy YA Films, cupcakes and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales, ballet and all things supernatural, drinks far too much coffee, and watches an ungodly amount of Netflix.
She loves to write dark, paranormal/fantasy romance and characters who will shatter your heart. Characters who enjoy stomping on the pieces and then laugh before putting you back together again. This is my second book by Sloane Murphy. While once again I did not know what was going on in some spots due to not reading the other series I still enjoyed the book. Fallon and Colt's story was heartbreaking. Deacon stepping in was very steamy and rivaled Colt's ardor. Fallon's life is taking her in all different directions. There were twists and gut wrenching moments throughout. Story was fast paced and ends on a cliffhanger. This series makes me want to grab up the others.
This story is mind boggling as i new what was going to happen as i have read the Shadow Walker Saga but with this being from Fallon and Colts point of view it felt different again. I love that we get to know this couple and everything that was going on between them. I totally devoured this book as it was action packed from beginning to end with the war eminent.
I love Sloane's worlds that she creates as you get sucked right into the world you are reading about, and boy you never want to leave as she takes you on a ride of your life along with her characters. Fallon you are going to love as she is one tough sassy badass cookie, and Colt is just so lovable that he is every girls wet dream and together they are explosive, the sex is out of this world HOT!!
Deacon is back in this book. we met him in the previous books and he is one badass Demon with a side of nice that you are going to either love him or hate him, I LOVE HIM, he is sex on legs. This story is going to have you gripped through out with what is unfolding, prepare for a roller coaster of a ride of your life, trust me. I don't want to give any spoilers away so you just need to pick this series up, you will not be disappointed at all.
THAT ENDING WTF!! Seriously this is going to give you whip lash and going to mess with your mind. Is it May yet as i need that next book NOW. Brilliant again from this author.
This book absolutely DESTROYED me. Sat here writing this, whilst my eyes are blurry as hell, because I’ve spent a good portion of this book basically crying in fetal position. Fallon’s story interlinks so much with Remy and her guys in the Shadow Walker Saga, that some parts you know are coming and kind of what to expect. Reading the Shadow Walker Saga, I cried at the parts that show up in Hunter’s Heart but in no way did I expect to have been so heartbroken reading it, in Hunter’s Heart. I hope you read this and if you do, get the chocolate, the tissues, fast food and alcohol at the ready. Reading this story, it’s an experience that has you captured and has you feeling every emotion possible. Colt, I grew to love a lot in Witch’s Curse, but in Hunter’s Heart, he was just so much more and I fell hard for him. I loved seeing him and Fallon together more, their relationship is so beautiful and heart warming. I couldn’t put this story down, from the first page. Absolutely loved it! Sloane Murphy’s writing is fantastic, providing us with characters that you will love and worlds that you get lost in. Literally just finished Hunter’s Heart and I need book 3 like now.
WTAF Sloane Murphy delivers a cliff hanger with soooo many posabilities my heart and brain are melting!
It's rare to read a book that pulls the full range of emotions from you, I squeaked with excitement and ugly cried like my world had ended... my poor heart has been built up, shredded put back together, set on fire and then shredded again...
Seriously me heart is trying to escape my chest, I get so into the world's you create and so invested in everything... its like inception when they leave the dream world I need to come back to reality.
However sloane you rock, this book is a masterpiece and I think that for me, it's the best I've read by you, I cant wait for the final installment!! 🖤🖤🖤
This book broke me… I really can’t even say anymore, it completely broke me 😭😭😭😭.
I mean, I have read the Shadow Walkers Saga, and this book follows the same timeline as the end of that series, but I broke even more. Bravo to the author for creating a story that made me feel so much. On to book 3 with fingers crossed that she keeps putting me back together.
OMG what did I just read??!! My heart was palpitating pretty much then entire time until it was ripped out of my chest and shredded. The the holy hell of cliffhangers slapped me upside my head! Sloane Murphy’s creativity knows no limits. Fantastic and I am on the edge waiting for the next book!
I’m not going to do my usual plot summary in order to avoid spoilers, but OMFG. I don’t even know what to do right now, having finished this book. Ms. Murphy has actually reduced me to tears. This book is going to take you on a complete and total emotional roller coaster, and the ending is going to absolutely destroy you! So much drama, so much angst, so much heat... this book was paranormal romance at its finest. I love Fallon so much, she’s the kind of heroine I can very much relate to. As for Colt, I want to smack him at times, but he is not a bad person, and most of the time, he has reasons for doing what he does. Go get your copy of this book ASAP, and don’t forget to buy tissues!
I received an ARC of this book from the author, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
So if you have read the original Shadow Walker saga by this author you know what is coming but it still is so heartbreaking and devastating. Like I bawled my eyes out and I didnt as much here but stilll got super teary-eyed and was dreading getting to that scene. I think that is why this one was tough for me at times. There were some very slow parts in the beginning so it took me awhile to really get into it. I enjoyed book 1 and I liked seeing these different POVs and getting to learn more of the other characters we didnt get as much in the original series. I was sitting around the 30% mark for weeks but pushed through over the weekend and then devoured it after I got through the slow part.
Like you knew the big tragedy wasn't going to be for forever because of the blurbs and titles of the book but you didnt know when or how it was going to happen. I liked Fallon more in this one but still wanted to shake her so bad for not just opening her mouth. I get her feelings of not wanting to be a burden but like she was raised better than that with her Mama. I can get not sharing with Colt or Remy because of their past/what they were going through, but Mama or even Creek would have been fine. I did like getting to see the Gabriel internal fighting, that was really well done. I hope we get more insight in book 3 of her powers and everything. I am still confused where the author was going with all that haha.
In terms of the romance and steam.....boy I was not expecting the kinky parts but BOY AM I HERE FOR IT! I loved Colt and Fallon so much, loved how they got before everything, seeing their future together, but I also liked Deacon and how he was there for her, him learning more human things, and then taking control once she made the move. Like I hope we get to see more of him because his very controlling nature didnt connect with me as much as his time at the farmers market or fair (looooved their easy breezy moments after everything).
Oh and the thing that broke me.....the presents he ordered that arrived for Creek, Remy, and Fallon. Gahhhh getting emotional just thinking about it. 4/5 stars for me for this book, already downloaded book 3, need to see how everyone reactions to the huge cliffy of book 2 ❤️
So here's the deal...I read a six book series in order to be all caught up on the events coming into the Shadow Weaver Series knowing the time frames overlap. So I knew...I KNEW....what was coming, yet Slaone Murphy still manged to shred me in Hunter's Heart! That my friends takes skill... to tell the same story from another point of view and still manage to affect your readers. Well done!
Now, while I'm trying to pick up the pieces and put myself back together let's discuss.
Fallon, this girl has been through so much and yet she continues to pick herself up, put herself back together, and move forward. Does she give herself time to fall apart...absolutely...but then she find the ones she can lean on...gets support and pulls it back together. Remy, Colt, and Deacon are pivotal in helping Fallon find herself again..When she has the opportunity to show her strength and willpower she shines and I hope there is a lot more of the powerful Fallon in the next book.
Colt... I've loved Colt since the Shadow Walker Series when he was just Remy's brother, seeing this other side of him that comes out just for Fallon has me swooning. The chemistry between them is undeniable! I need more.
Demon Deacon, oh where do I begin?! I've been rooting for the "bad guy" thanks to Deacon and he did not disappoint. He shows humanity and heart from someone you'd least expect it from and his looks and Dominance don't hurt. He is 🔥🔥🔥
Now I know we've had some insane twists and turns and some *mild* obstacles to overcome 🤬🤞 but I hope that Fallon eventually gets Colt and Deacon because seeing those two alphas try to share is going to be epic.
The cliffhanger on this book is killer and has my mind 🤯🤬 and I need all kinds of things to happen to make my heart whole again.
I literally don't even know where to start with this review. My mind has been boggled and I'm just sat here like 🤯
I've already screamed and shouted at Sloane because that ending is a KILLER (but it's so good I'm not really mad, I just need to get her to write the next book pronto 👀 and this one isn't even live yet 🙈)
Okay so the actual book, I do not have enough words to explain how amazing this book is. Sloane just sucks me in with her writing style, character developments, and the world building is INSANE. I get so pulled in that I forget I'm not actually a character in this series (which kinda sucks because damn)
Fallon, I just have so much love for this girl, she's strong, sassy, badass, a motherfucking queen! We start off where we left off in Witch's Curse. After everything she's been through we can forgive her for feeling a little broken, but she's not going to let her experiences ruin her life. And with Colt by her side he helps to quiet the world and help her heal 🥰
Colt is MY MAN, he's just everything 🥵 he's cocky, but never steps over the line, playful yet serious when the time needs, and everything Fallon needs to help put her broken pieces back together.
I don't want to say too much because I don't want to give spoilers, but we all know Sloane's characters have a mind of their own and demanded MFM, so Demon Deacon is back in the picture and I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED 🥵 he's so sweet with Fallon that it actually hurts my heart 🖤
Anyway, all I'm trying to say is, read this book! Read this series! You will NOT be disappointed, but prepare yourself, the ride is twisty 🖤
This alternative POV to The Shadow Walker's Saga picked up right after the end of A Witch's Curse. Told in the dual narrative of Fallon and Colt, we see events from the original story in their point of view, understand what these characters went through, and get to see relationships evolve and develop.
I started to like Colt a lot more in A Witch's Curse and I really love him in this book. He is a steadfast and strong support for Fallon, finally being the man that she needs. We see him as an elder and a leader, as a brother, and as a lover. He may not be perfect at all of those things, but we see how much he wants to be and how deeply he loves his sister, Fallon, and his people.
My feelings about Fallon are much more complex. I found myself getting so upset with her for not communicating, for not letting others in, for feeling like a burden to others when it is apparent that they would do anything for her. But she eventually finds her way, finds her strength, and lets herself open up and be happy. And then it's ripped away. As this book progressed, I found myself more empathetic to Fallon as I began to understand the burden and expectations she's been living with. Knowing that everyone she loves will live on and cycle, while she is mortal. And her fear of her powers. She finally leans on others to help her heal and finds peace in her life and herself. This view into her character development is great and makes her a much more nuanced and complex character.
And the heat in this book. Phew. Sloane brought the heat in this installment of the series. I can't wait to read the next one to see how relationships shift.
I am totally behind the times, as Witch’s Curse and Hunter’s Heart are my first Sloane Murphy books. In Witch’s Curse, I wasn’t originally on board with Colt, but he grew on me. In this book, he went from boy to man. He slipped into his role as elder and evolved into being a leader. I love that his faults do not magically disappear despite him “growing up and into his role.”
Fallon, girl, girl. I know you want to bear the burden alone, but let the world in! People want to help you! I like that Sloane really delved into how Fallon feels as though she is the burden because of the expectations that she feels pushed upon her. I enjoyed her exploration of Fallon’s mortality and the emotions that go with that in relation to the world around her continuing without her. Fallon really leans on Colt to get through some of these wild emotions that she’s feeling, and Colt, being the wonderful creature that he is, really allows himself to be her rock.
Y’all need to add this bad boy….the whole series really to your TBR. BRB while I go catch up on the rest of the saga while I impatiently wait for book 3.
Ok wow this book is a total emotional Rollercoaster. I spent the last like 25% trying not to cry and then the cliffhanger and I’m like girl that better mean what I think it does... but if it does then what will it mean for Fallon? 🤔 Ok so this book has a sprinkle of what seems like every element you can think of in it. Action, suspense, heart break, betrayal, grief, love, loss... you name it, Sloane found a way to make it happen. Things literally get picked up and turned right on their head. It’s difficult for me to give specifics without spoiling because of all the changes in this book with it seems like every character. We start the book off with Fallon getting Azriel removed from her soul, which means further shattering on her part. And there are repercussions for this, but we don’t see that initially. Colt is amazing and he and Fallon have so much growth together in this book. But ultimately Fallon is the one who undergoes a huge transformation throughout Hunter’s Heart. Book 3 is going to be epic based off that ending!
Wow! What did I just read?! This is the second book of Fallon's story which runs parallel to the shadow walkers saga so I definitely recommend this reading that saga first so you know what happened.
Right well where do I start?! There was a distinct sense of deja vu because this book was happening as books 5 & 6 of Remy's story was happening and although I felt Hunters Heart was a bit slower paced compared to the previous book boy it sure packs some punches. Fallon is an amazing main character and I admire her strength so much. He relationships with Colt and Deacon are hot as hell and I really grew to love Deacon which I didn't think I would.
Like I said this book pack a some punches and it has moments where it tears your heart out. I am not a crier when I read but I did ugly cry when reading this book which has probably only happened a handful of times! I am still deciding if I have forgiven Sloane for what she did and I definitely haven't forgiven her for that ending! May needs to hurry up and get here now so that I can find out what happens next!
This book picks up right where the first in the Shadow Weaver Spin Off ends. This dual point of view between Fallon and Colt is everything. I always loved Colt in the Shadow Walkers Saga he had so much growth and it is wonderful to get to see more of him and get to be inside his head. Fallon was a bit harder for me to connect with at first in this book. She has so many crazy and intense things happening to her but she constantly doesn't want to burden anyway so she tries to do it on her own. Having said that when she does let me people in you just want to cheer and support her yourself.
If you have read the Shadow Walker series then you know some of the events that will happen in this book and it's like you're on pins and needles as the story builds towards those moments. While you know what is going to happen you still get all of it in a new and exciting light. Like most in these series this ending just leavings you aching to read the next. I can't wait to get to experience more of this world!
Hunter’s Heart. Sloane Murphy, has hit it out of the ball park yet again. Your heart will soar, cry, get angry, almost hate but you will LOVE fiercely. Just a taste of what you will find. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. Just when you think you can’t handle anymore, you will push on to the next page. This is the continuation of Witches Curse giving us a deeper look into the life and adventures of Fallon, her friendships and adventures, her deep love of family and friends and the lengths she would go to protect them.
Look for the exciting continuation of what is in store for Fallon, in Book 3 of the Shadow Weaver’s series. If you have not read any Shadow Walker’s series jump into book 1. Crown of Blood and Bone https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...
Holy cow bells... just wow! Sloane does it again, which is no surprise at this point. She truly cast a spell on me with this beautiful fairytale that has a sharp dose of reality to help make the reader question their very existence. Fallon’s character developed so much during this book and it all came to a head when Deacon truly took her control. It opened her up in more ways than one🤫 and I couldn’t believe how much it felt like I was watching a movie. It’s hard to create something that engulfs the readers mind and sight, bringing them into the story as a sort of fly on the wall. Sloane did it though, just like she always does. Absolutely beautiful and such a pleasure to read. I highly recommend taking the dive into this book/ this book series if you’re looking for an enchanting twist on witching tales with a hotter than hell demonic tease.
This is the second book in the Shadow Weaver series and it is not a standalone. The book picks up where the first one left off and we find Fallon contending with some very serious issues. The relationship between Fallon and Colt continues to grow and readers are in for one wild ride. From the start, Ms. Murphy just throws her readers into the deep end and it feels like one has to swim and keep swimming. There is so much going on in this book from suspense and action to betrayal and love. This is one storyline that must be read to learn the little details that demonstrate this author’s talent for crafting a work that will just shred readers to pieces. I cannot wait to see what happens with the next book! If you enjoy reading paranormal stories, then this is one series to add to your tbr list.
Well we are back in the world of fallon and colt again. At the beginning of this book I was really starting to struggle to like fallon this time, however I absolutely adored colt. That soon changed through this book. Yet again she went through so much with things she couldn't even control and was used by someone nobody would have thought, that was a great twist. There was so many different twists and turns in this book and I laughed out loud but also really cried as it was so emotional. I absolutely love deacon and I really hope to see more of him. The ending had my life and I can not wait for the next one. I give this book 4/5 just because I started to dislike fallon in the beginning ... but not anymore
First of all... what a cliffhanger! I can't wait to know for sure what happens next! This book is part of the shadow walkers saga and I would say it wouldn't make much sense if you haven't read the shadow walker books first. This series is also the first one I've ever read where I kind of knows what's going to happen (at least until the end of this book) since the story is in parallel to the shadow walker series. Because of this the first book was a bit repetitive but I didn't find that with this one! I found that knowing more or less the general main events just meant that I could focus on the story of these specific characters and I loved it! Much improved from book 1 and can't wait to see what happens next (which goes beyond the shadow walker books so I have no idea what will happen).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Wow. This book had me feeling all the emotions. Literally all of them. I can't believe how incredible this book is (even with the emotional rollercoaster ride).
This book carries on with Fallon & Colts story, and Deacon occasionally pops in too. I loved seeing how their love just bloomed for each other & and how they didn't let anyone else's prejudice ruin what they had.
I loved how this story flowed and it literally gripped me, so I couldn't put it down until I knew how it ended. I need book 3 now though as that cliffhanger was just unreal!
This series should definitely be on everyone's TBR list. Thank you Sloane for this incredible book, and I can't wait to see what you in store for book 3.
Hunters Heart is the second book in the Shadow Weaver series and it packs an emotional punch right to the gut. An emotional rollercoaster that keeps on going until the very last word. If you think you loved Colt before, get ready to see a whole other side to him. A frustrating, emotional, hot, hot, hot side. I loved experiencing things from another point of view and after that cliffy, I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
If you haven’t started this amazing spin off to the shadow Walker saga, then what are you waiting for!?
WTF holy shit wow just wow I don’t know wear to start with that’s my emotions are all over the map with this book . This book was absolutely awesome and what Rollercoaster ride of emotions I literally brawl my eyes even thought I read it the other book but still hear form Fallon broke my heart for her . Definitely a lot twisted and turn throughout this book that’s want me too threw my kindle and with that Hugh Cliffhanger and the end holy fucking shit . Sloane Murphy I need the next book please this book . I will highly recommend this books series to you
This is the Second book in the Witches curse series but it is also taking place during shadow walker series.
You get to know more about Colt and Fallons story in these two books and I love it.
I have stated before that their love is like forbidden lovers type or Romeo and Juliet story and I am here for it.
I am still reading the Shadow Walker series so I did get lost at points but I think you could read this series as long as you know going into it that it’s a part of a bigger story.
Wow! What to say? Another amazing book from Sloane Murphy. I loved the Shadow Walker series and I absolutely loved this spin off. Fallon, Remy, and Morgan are three strong, kick butt, female characters. I love reading about them. Sloane will have you laughing, crying, and screaming with the characters. The surprises keep coming. After reading one series you think you have a general idea of how the story will go, but no, Sloane never fails to keep you on your toes. It’s definitely a must read, and I can’t wait to see what comes next from her.
Hunter’s Heart was a roller coaster ride from the start to the very end! I can’t really get into it much because I don’t want to spoil anything. The story picks up right where the previous book left off and it was non-stop action till the very end.
You really need to read this book and you will definitely need tissues! There will be a lot of emotions felt when you read this. This is definitely a must read series!
Wow. This book totally killed me. I’ve read the Shadow Walker books (if you haven’t read them already I totally recommend it!) so I knew roughly what was going to happen but the level of detail from Fallon’s side of the story was just amazing. I loved how much more you get to understand about what is going on with Fallon and Colt. That ending as well! I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book!
Fabulous book and full of all the feels. I totally never guessed the plot of this book and then the ending threw me for a loop again. The characters kept me captivated as usual and the world building continues to be excellent.
So interesting to read somewhat parallel stories from different perspectives. Shadow Walkers series was amazing and this series does more than hold its own. Can’t wait to see where this goes next. Definitely recommend.
Wow! That's only one word that can describe this second book. Fallon and Colt are amazing characters and boy do they play with my heart. I loved the flow of the book. It kept me on the edge yet also needing to know what's going to happen next. That cliffhanger... Omg. I love the writing and the multiple povs. It's enticing and really gives you all the feels as you read. I was hooked from the first page, it takes off right where book one ended. I really enjoyed this second book!
