They’ve been betrayed by loved ones before. Together, they learn to forgive.

Since leaving his birth coven, Grantham has found his home with Master Edison’s warlocks. Though the Amherst Coven has been blessed by the Fates and its members are finding their fated ones, will he find that perfect One that belongs with him?

Theodore is on the run with an omega that isn’t his mate. He may be wanted for murder, but all that matters is getting Nigel to safety. That is, until he scents something that he wasn’t expecting—his fated mate.

Grantham and Theo have both been betrayed by their families before. But together, they discover that sometimes, things aren’t always what they appear to be and that it’s possible to move on from the past.

Grantham is the fourth book in the Warlocks of Amherst series. Each book in the series focuses on a different couple but these books should be read in order as previous couples will make appearances in future books. This book is intended for adults only. It contains a Fated Mate pairing and plenty of magical sexy times that lead to male pregnancy, as this is an MPREG story.
Grantham is a 60,000 word full-length novel with a HEA.

More of the same. Pregnancy is the grandest subplot (over an abusive alpha and a bad past with Ones, even). I'm not a fan of the grandparents randomly popping out when the grandchild was announced wanting for forgiveness. It feels just wrong. I'm down for mpreg, but something other than "I crave children" would be nice, plot wise.
Also, I found it funny as hell that Taylor tried to find a nickname for Grantham, noticed the only one that made sense was Grant (which couldn't be used long term due to it being the name of Balthazar's one) and after using it twice left it abandoned and went back to Grantham.

I’ve been not so patiently waiting for Grantham’s story and this did not disappoint.

Grantham has been in the background for a little while as the coven’s cook and I really wanted to learn more about him. It was so sad to find that he’d had such bad experiences with alphas and his last coven in the past. It was nice to see that he’d found somewhere accepting and safe. Unfortunately, his past experiences with alphas coloured how he reacted to Theo. I have to say, there were a couple of times I wanted to strangle Grantham for how he acted around Theo, but luckily he realised what a mistake he was making and made the effort to show his One just how much he wanted him. As usual with Taylor’s books there were lots of moments of sweet fluffiness with the more serious issues floating in the background. I think my only criticism was that Theo’s father (and to a lesser extent his brother) seemed to fade away a bit more easily than made sense. It just felt like there would be more from his dad. Really though, that was a pretty small niggle in the face of the sweet, angst-free development of Theo and Grantham’s relationship. We also got to see Theo and Grantham rebuild their relationships with their family (Grantham’s dad was adorable). I love these books because they are so calming; people talk, they listen and they want to make things work (no big miscommunications here!). Angst is great too, but these are a true comfort read!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Theo and Grantham, when Grantham finally got to apologise to Theo for walking out on him when he tried to explain about the situation with Nigel and his twin brother Tim, and that he tried to force Nigel to mate with him so Theo hit his brother hard enough and knocked him out and thought that he’d k*lled him due to all the blood, since when he got to Nigel’s Tim was already there and Nigel was in a bad state, in pain and all bruised. Due to Grantham’s best friend Cormac being in a physically ab*sive relationship with his One that ended in his death, and Grantham having to leave his birth Coven as everyone including his parents thought that it wasn’t Grantham’s or anyone’s place to deal with the relationship between Ones and how they were together.

I loved how paternal Theo was and that he was really happy to be a stay at home husband/father so that Grantham can still be the chef for the Coven, which isn’t typical for an alpha. I loved the moments when Theo and Nigel were shifted and their penguins were swimming and sliding down the inflatable slide it was really cute. I’m glad that Grantham rung his parents after all these years so they could reconcile and that Theo’s mum escaped her mate and left so she could get sanctuary at Amherst where Theo was and slowly reconcile after all the years that it seemed like she did nothing and just accepted that even though her mate was really horrible and power hungry and one of her sons was nearly as bad. Sometimes being complacent is worse as you know something bad is happening but you don’t do anything about it. I loved how Theo honoured Grantham’s best friend Cormac by naming their son after him. Grantham had no idea and was shocked but over the moon.

Man, Nigel is a wee sweetheart and so freaking adorable. I hope he gets a book as he needs a really loving and caring mate who loves kids as much if not more than him, as after everything he’s been through he totally deserves happiness. It was great to see him stand up to Theo when he was being stubborn where Grantham was concerned when Grantham was trying to apologise after lumping him in with the alpha-holes so it showed that what he’d been through hadn’t broken him and he still had fight to stand up for what he believes in and especially to an alpha which is awesome.

I’m looking forward to reading Fenwick’s story since he’s featured so briefly in some of the previous books. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

As much as I want to like this book, I really don't. Not just this one, but the entire universe. At least, I enjoyed Balthazar even a tiny bit, but I had to suspend a lot of things and that's saying something considering this is fantasy where there are warlocks. But even that still doesn't stop me from thinking some of their abilities as too good to be true. There aren't any explanations as to how and why, just that they could. And it's just not settling right with me. Even the delivery is not enough to convince me of it. There are a lot of loose-ends from previous books (that I can remember) that I don't think has ever been visited again and that irks.

I don't think I've seen and read the same Grantham that was tease by the previous book. As far as I can remember, that Grantham was a bit of a grump. Who chase Matthew out of his kitchen whenever he cause chaos and trouble. And I am not seeing that kind of person, nor a shadow of that personality in this book. Or maybe I just haven't gotten to that part. A lot of this series were also redundant. Too slow pace, and unnecessarily long without that much amount of plot. The main story closed in the first few chapters and never been visited save to the last where Theodore's mother showed up for sanctuary. We don't even get the 'talk' that would somehow mend the broken relationship.

I know the Edison is perceived the all mighty and Elder and thus powerful being, but at this point, he lose that mystery vibe and became annoying. Like the whole coven of Armherst is still dependent of him somehow. Okay, he is Arthur's father so it's natural to help. But where does Arthur start and Edison end? As repeatedly mention in this book, Arthur is the coven leader, not Edison. His presence as the elder warlock, overshadows his son, Present Coven leader's abilities to handle his own coven issues. It made it seem that Arthur can't function anything without his Father's help. That is not a leadership I want to see.

I hope there would be an improvement of this series otherwise, I am going to avoid all this author's future books as it doesn't seem that her style is for me. But hopes still.

Grantham: Warlocks of Amherst is Book 4 in the series by Taylor Rylan. In each book a warlock from the Amherst Coven finds their “one”. Grantham is the cook for the Coven which is a job he really enjoys. He has been watching many of the other warlocks find their ones and have babies and he yearns to be like them. Theodore is a penguin shifter. His father is the alpha of his colony and he and his twin brother are not good to its members. They are abusive and take what they want. Theodore is not like them and wants to leave the colony but was watched so he helped others escape instead. His brother was going to abuse his friend Nigel so he escapes with him one day, knowing that his father will look for him. He comes to the Amherst Clowder and seeks sanctuary. Alpha Niles thinks they would have more safety with the Coven so they are sent there. That’s when Grantham and Theodore realize they are each other’s ones. As their relationship continues we learn things about each of them and the ups and downs they encounter as their love grows. Parents show up and friends all try to help them. As in all the other books their claiming ends with a pregnancy that is very much wanted by both of them. I like books where characters from previous books play a part in the story and that happens here. There is also some plot action when Theodore’s father comes looking for him. I enjoyed the banter between the main characters and how cute, yet strong, the penguin shifters were, especially when they played in their saltwater pool by themselves and with others. Ms. Rylan has created an interesting world and I found the rules, expectations, and the way the characters acted interesting. I recommend this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series.

I think I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel... and by that I mean, I can almost see the end of this horrible series.

Another boring as heck book, with a character that should've been more developed or made more interesting or attractive to readers but I cared nothing about. Also, there's a character named Grant and short for Grantham could be Grant... it's a little bit annoying. Couldn't the author be a little more creative with the names?

Once more there's hints of abuse, flying monkeys, narcissistic characters and NOTHING is fleshed out in the book. 20 chapters and the author couldn't give this so important topics the time they deserved. There's even a secondary character I was hoping would have a good reason to re-appear in the main one's lives but no... it's actually written as a "hey, I'm back and I'm actually sort of a good person, so yay?" that almost made me stop reading the book right there and then.

I saw a glimpse of a more deeper topic with Grantham's one, Theo but while a relevant topic for him it was taken to seriously while the really serious issues were ignored which made me care even less for it.

1 out of 10. Can't find any reason why anyone would read it.

So sweet!

I was so happy to finally get to Grantham's story and it didn't disappoint. I have always had a soft spot for Grantham because while he was always nice, thinking of others and wanting his own children there was a sadness to him. I so wanted someone special to make him smile. In walks said person, or waddles? LOL Theodore is a penguin shifter with demons of his own. He is an honorable alpha that has helped many in his colony to escape his horrible father and brother. Things happen while saving his friend, an omega named Nigel. Theo believes he has done something unforgivable but has he? And when Grantham finds out what happened, even for the honorable and only choice, will he be able to go forward and claim his One? There are some old fears and pain for both to work through to get to the point that they can claim each other. Can they do it and have the HEA they both deserve? If you don't know then you are unaware of the wonders of how Arthur, Patrick, Edison and the rest of the wonderful coven work to help and protect those they consider family!

I wasn’t sure how Grantham was going to come across in this book. Would he be gruff or lovable? Would he leave his kitchen long enough to find his One? I enjoyed reading about why he cooked the food instead of just using his magic and was excited to see what happened when he found his other half.
Penguin shifters...how amazing is that concept? When we got introduced to them in last book I loved it! Theo is the Alpha that is perfect for Grantham. I could feel his frustration on that the further was going to hold for him and was so happy that they were able to work everything out. And a chick! Sigh. Loved it.
Of course I had to look up the Narwhal song! I love it when authors intrigue me enough to want to look something up. I can’t wait to see who Nigel ends up with.
I read and ARC and this is my honest review.

Penguins, Warlocks and Romance

Ok, this might be my favorite book of the series so far. I absolutely adore Grantham and his Alpha penguin, Theo. This book is definitely high on the feels, but a little more romantically than the other books. Of course, the heat level is a solid 🔥🔥🔥! I love how each book in the series just expands on the overall storyline, while still managing to focus on a specific couple. The entire cast of characters just gets bigger and old favorites from previous books always make an appearance. I'm only sad that now I have to wait for the next book in the series! I'm 100% addicted at this point and can't wait for more. I've even begun buying the paperbacks to have in my personal library. So so good!

Theodore is on the run with an Omega, trying to save him and keep him safe from Theo’s family. When they arrive in Amherst, Theo scents his mate Grantham. Grantham is the coven’s cook. He’s been watching his friends find their “one” and while he’s happy for them, he wants what they have too. Both men have had bad things happen in their past and will have to fight to be together. I absolutely loved Theodore and Grantham!! I picked up the book as soon as it arrived and I couldn’t put it down, it kept me glued to the pages!! This was fantastic and I seriously recommend this story!! I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received.

Adorable and sweet penguins with loving and protective mates, what more could you want. Grantham was so sweet and nice while Theo was strong and totally in love, after a stumble at the first hurdle we get so much love, caring and bedroom action. This is rather light hearted and extremely fluffy with so much adoration between the mates it makes me smile. There is a slight family problem but it is quickly dealt with and forgotten. I loved how both men were so into each other and so accepting, we get to see lots of lovely babies and a reunion or two.

I absolutely adored this latest book in the Warlocks of Amherst series!! I really liked Grantham in prior books in this series and always sensed a sadness about him and what he has been through in his life. Theo was the perfect mate for him and an adorable penguin shifter to boot!! Theo was exactly what Grantham needed in his life and never thought he would have. I loved every minute of their story, I laughed, cried, and swooned during the hot steamy moments. I can't recommend this book enough....I loved it!!! I can't wait for the next book in this amazing series to be here, well done!!!!

Grantham, the chef for the Amherst coven, meets his One in the form of Alpha penguin, Theo. The pair are well matched. Both have had betrayal in their lives by family members. And both find it difficult to trust. Grantham is leery of his One's Alpha status. But it doesn't take long for Theo to prove he's a different kind of Alpha yhan Grantham has met in the past. Theo is loving and kind and supportive.
There's some angst, reconnection with family and lots of loving. A very sweet story. Rylan is already planning the next up.

This series has been more of a slice of life series than anything else. I think my biggest complaint with this book as well as the previous ones is that I wish there was more conflict. It seems like every time a potentially dangerous conflict is presented, it is resolved almost before it started. I just wish that the conflict in each book would amount to something. Still, I did enjoy the relationship between Grantham and Theodore and at least for now I will continue reading the series.

Love this latest addition to this incredible series. Grantham and Theo are spectacular together and they truly learn that family isn't always what you're born into. Theo is such an honorable alpha and he is just perfect for Grantham. They have incredible chemistry and a very strong connection. I really love how protective they are of one another. Can't wait for the next one in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Grant and Theo

This was such a sweet book. I really enjoyed reading the dynamics between everyone.

Theo was such a sweet alpha, but incredibly hard on himself. Grantham really helped to show him more, to show him he was a good man and alpha. Theo on the other hand made a great mate for Grant in return. I honestly enjoyed the whole book. Taylor Rylan definitely did another wonderful job. I can't wait to read Fenwick's book :)

A sweet, fun continuance to a series with 5 books out now and room for more. Not much angst, mostly insta-love. This series is best read in order; however, it appears there are other secondary characters from another series I am not familiar with but I will check that out next time I want to re-read this series as it would be good to know them but not necessary to read before this series - I'm just sure it would be entertaining as well.

Love the book. The story kept me engaged and interested. I had trouble putting the book down when I needed to go take care of something and came rushing back when I could. I loved getting to know more about Grantham and seeing more of the Coven. And OMGoodness penguin shifters! So cute and awesome! Can't wait for the next book!

I enjoyed all characters, and specially Grantham who has a huge heart to help others. This series is great and I can’t wait for the next surprise from Ms Rylan.

Another in the series

Another one in the series to whet our appetites I liked that Granthams mate was an usual shifter that I had not come across before and I liked how they both tired to figure out what their mating meant as they were different species. I liked as it was a little quirky.

This is the Fourth Book in the : Warlocks of Amherst

This was a sweet and fun read we finally get the coven's chef Grantham's background story . I have to say their was a lot happening in this one so many characters and their mates and children . And not the least the parents of our characters we also get the usual drama but of course it all works out in the end .

This is a paranormal mm romance with mpreg, the fourth book in a multi-series world, and it should be read in order! Grantham is the coven’s chef and he finds his ONE in Theodore, a penguin shifter! I have to admit I was eager to reread this one because of that and how the last book ended!

As usual, Taylor Rylan hits the mark. with the newest installation of the Warlocks of Amhurst story. We met Grantham in the first 3 books - the chef that everybody loves to love. Here, we meet Grantham's One, Theo. While life is often complicated for the warlock and his shifter, it is never without hope. New histories are revealed, relationships are healed, and the community grows. It's everything we want for our new friends - and more. It has a wonderful HEA, but the door has not closed on this community, and we look forward to more stories to come. I could not love this series more!!!

Such another great addition to the series of Warlocks finding their One and it’s not often enough you find Penguin shifters to this one was even greater in my opinion!
