When sports agent Carter Crawford and supermodel Vale Martin meet, they have an instant connection and a really fun night together.
Their relationship goes like this:
She calls and says she’s in town.
He tells her to stop by. They both know what that means.
And it is amazing. Every time.

She doesn’t want a commitment.
So, he does something crazy and buys a ring.
But instead of surprising Vale with a proposal, Carter sees her kissing another man and leaves without telling her.

After months of not speaking, Vale doesn’t call Carter.
She stops by.
And begs him to pretend to be her fiancé at her little sister’s wedding.
And even though Carter knows he’s about to do something crazy again, he agrees.
Because there is nothing fake about the way he still feels about her.

Fake Love is the third book in the 'Crawford Brothers' series but can be read as a stand-alone. What happens when an almost engagement turns into a fake one? That's what we find out in this fun, sweet, and steamy Jillian Dodd book.

Vale and Carter Crawford were in a relationship and Carter wanted more... until things didn't go quite as planned and they spend several months not talking. Now Vale is back and she needs Carter's help. Vale's sister is getting married and she can't show up without a date. It would be better if it were something serious, like a fiancé perhaps.

I loved how much Carter loved Vale. It was so romantic and swoony and even though it took Vale a little while to know/decide what she really wanted in life, I understood. Especially seeing how she grew up and how her family was, it made sense. Her family was great, don't get me wrong, but her father especially didn't understand her career and wanted a different life for her. I do wish we would have gotten more of Carter's family, but I loved all the time at Vale's.

This book made me smile and I had a lot of fun reading it. It was a sweet romance and a quick read. I enjoyed it lots!

Carter and Vale have a history of very steamy booty calls. Vale is usually the one making the calls when she is back in town in between travelling or modelling shoots and Carter is more than willing to answer. Over time he has grown feelings for her and thinks she feels the same way until one night changes things and he walks away from any thoughts he ever had of a future with her.

A few months later Vale comes knocking on Carter’s door on bended knees, begging him to help her out and pretend to be her fake fiance at her sister's wedding. He should say no, close the door and save himself from more heartbreak. When it comes to Vale though, he just can’t seem to resist her convincing sob story and he really has no idea what he is in for.

Faking love with Vale in front of her family is no hardship at all, in fact it comes naturally for him seeing as he is still completely in love with her. He knows she doesn’t feel the same way but he will enjoy what he can get with her over the weekend, knowing that they will once again part ways. The only hard part is deceiving her family which really goes against his moral compass.

Vale has always felt not good enough in her father’s eyes. Despite having a successful career and being financially independent, he always tries to impress on her how much she really needs to return home and settle down. She is proud of what she has done in her career and his attitude towards it all infuriates her. This doesn't bode well for a happy family wedding weekend.

Carter finds himself thrown into the deep end of the Martin family dynamics, using his negotiation skills as a sports agent to calm the waters. He has definitely made a great first impression of them all. Now all he needs to do is convince Vale that there is nothing fake about what they are feeling and that if she is willing to take a chance on him, she will find out that real love with Carter is what she has been missing all along.

This was a fun, quick fake engagement story that had some great characters.
Vale is an independent woman who leaves home early for a modeling career much to her parents dismay. She has to head home for her sister's wedding and talks her old fling, Carter, into going with her. The relationships that she has with some of her family members are complicated and she has to navigate some bruised feelings from the past. Vale's family has a sophisticated farm and the imagery was so vivid that it felt like I was there. The thing about Jillian's books are that you always get such descriptive writing and the whole wedding weekend felt whimsical to me. Enjoyed the fun side characters as well, like a cheeky Grandma and a sassy niece.

Title: Fake Love
Series: Crawford Brother (Book 3)

Dual POV

From a small town makes it in the big city
Contemporary Romance
Cute niece named Sophie
Famous model, successful sports agent

Hero & Heroine

Carter Crawford: A successful sports agent, who has top list clientele, as seen in the previous books of The Crawford Brother series. He is in love with his friends-with-benefit partner Vale Martin. Overall, he is a good guy.

Vale Martin: Successful model who comes from a very small town. Her relationship with her family is strained as her father doesn’t believe that modelling is a successful career and wants her to return home. She proves him wrong by moving to New York at only 18 and becoming a success. And she has not returned home since. She sees the relationship her parents have and realizes she does not want that at all. In her mind her parents’ relationship is her mom being the obedient housewife with dinner ready for her husband every day when he comes home from work, which she does not want at all. She meets Carter at a Superbowl gaming party and they both have a friends-with-benefits relationship. As Vale travel a lot of work, she cannot commit to a relationship show this routine is perfect for her.

Backstory (Prologue)

After witnessing his brother marry the love of his life, Carter realizes he wants that and knows that Vale is the one. He plans on proposing to her at midnight on New Year’s Eve as a surprise. When he goes to her party to surprise her, he sees her kiss another man. Now a week later he ends things with her, and she doesn’t really understand why but accepts it.

Love Story
A year later Value is in desperate need of a fake fiancé as she dates her sister's wedding back in her hometown to 1. Get her parents off her back and 2. To prevent her high school sweetheart, Trent, from making moves on her. Out of options, Vale calls Carter and begs him to be her fake fiancé. She even has a fake engagement where she got herself from Cartier. Carter, however, decides to give her the ring he was planning on giving her as he said it would be more realistic. (swoon) Carter agrees with the deal, in return he will be Vale’s soon-to-be-brother-in-law, AJ's agent since the dude is going into the draft for football.

My Opinion

I thought Fake Love by Jillian Dodd was okay but didn’t really see anything eye-catching or different from other fake romance books I have read. I did not read the previous books, but I assume they are in the same style and setup as this one. Also, there was no epilogue which made me a little upset, but I got over it. I love epilogues. This story seems very mundane like it would be someone’s reality and not some made up story. Not every book needs an evil character who causes all the drama, the heroine did that enough as it is. Overall, nothing to hate but nothing to love. I give Fake Love, a ⅗ stars.

"It's hard to give someone your heart, even when you love them. It's scary, right?"

Sports agent, Carter Crawford, and supermodel, Vale Martin have an instant connection but keep things super casual. Vale doesn't want a true commitment. Cool, so Carter goes and buys an engagement ring. Smart? Nah, that's crazy bruv. Everything backfires and what the pair has is dunzo.

Until, Vale shows up at Carters house begging him to attend her little sisters wedding as her fiance. Cool, so Carter agrees because he's, again, CrAzY. ...Crazy about Vale. Is the wedding weekend fate's way of bringing Vale back in to Carter's life? For good?

Fake Love is such a sweet second chance romance. A heartfelt love story! Jillian Dodd delivered a *chef's kiss* happily ever after that will leave readers will a full heart and tears in their eyes. Did somebody say food?

Mushroom and onion with a white sauce. DROOL. Gimme all the pizza. I LOVED Vale's grandma and her jokes. Grandma is a trouble maker! She is a HOOT! Carter is super charming, he can make anything happen, he's magic. If you've ever wondered how JD's HEA read, Fake Love is a perfect place to start! The Crawford brothers are mighty fine.

“Aren't love stories so romantic?” Sigh. I have dreamy hearts in my eyes 😍

Thank you Jillian for an advanced copy! I love all your books!

Absolutely fantastic! This book was such a beautiful well written entertaining love story! It had twists and turns, as Vale needs Carter to be her fake fiancé as she nervously goes back home to face the dreaded storm, also known as her family, for her little sisters wedding.

Vale and Carter are full of, on again/off again history, even to the point where Carter was going to propose but finds Vale kissing someone else. So he runs away, protecting his heart! Fast forward Vale nervous to go back home, she convinces Carter to be her fake fiancé!

Such a clever plot to the amazing second chance love story! The book had me laughing, yelling at Vale because Carter is the absolute perfect man and sobbing. There were points in the book that wicked pulled at my heartstrings! This book was amazing, Jillian Dodd has such a beautiful way with words! Her books grab your attention from page one. This is a captivating love story that you won’t want to miss! Must read!!!

Awwww...this story had so many feels for me! I’ve adored the Crawford brothers and Carter’s story was worth the wait. Miscommunications, wrong timing and no commitment sent mixed messages between Carter and Vale. With the heavy sparks between these two, it’s not surprising that a fake fiancé and wedding fiasco is all it takes to bring them back together. I loved all the sweet family moments where Carter’s attributes couldn’t help but shine. Steamy hot, master negotiator, yummy athlete, sweet with children...do I need to go on? Because I can brag on Carter all darn day. I loved the funny, angsty, scorching moments. All of the story. A perfect second chance romance with all my favorite characters pulling it together in a sparkly pink bow.

Not gonna lie, I've been crushing on Carter since book 1. Reading his story just sealed the deal- he is the perfect guy, I'm not even kidding. His love and loyalty to Vale, even when he was upset, melted my heart. Loved his interactions with Vale's family....it was sweet, sarcastic, and hilarious. The ending had me in tears...of joy ❤ Seriously looking forward to Chloe's story!

I actually liked the angst in this one. Normally it gets on my nerves but being at the wedding and actually SEEING the WHY of the angst instead of just hearing about it made it easier to deal with.

I LOVE Carter! He's such a great guy and all the things he does for Vale and her family over the weekend is a true representation of his character. Anyone would be lucky to have a guy like that loving and looking out for them.

Fake Love was another satisfying read by Jillian Dodd!

This was such a sweet, fun, second-chance romance and I enjoyed every single second of it!

Carter and Vale have a history but have never been in a steady relationship. They would hook-up whenever they could and the chemistry between them would be explosive, but they both lead such busy lives with careers that have them both travelling often so it was never anything more. And then New Year’s happened .... and that was the end of that.
After an abrupt end to their relationship and months of not talking, Vale is desperate and convinces Carter to go home with her for her little sister’s wedding and pretend to be her fake fiancé. But of course it isn’t that simple. Sparks fly between the two, Carter is easily welcomed into the family, but they’re both still having a hard time putting their past behind them.

This book was such a smooth, easy read that had me smiling throughout. It was so easy to get lost in the story and caught up in all the emotions the characters are going through and dealing with.
I loved watching their relationship develop and grow, and I absolutely adore Carter and Vale as a couple!

This is the third book in the Crawford brothers series and although you could certainly read it as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend reading the others first as their is some character crossover and backstories mentioned.

Fake love
•Second chance
•uppity family (with plenty of drama)
•faking it til you make it
•Rollercoaster emotions

Carter + Vale....The “one night stand” yet secretly in love with each other couple. I loved this book. There was times I wanted to punch Vale for not seeing what a catch she had when she had it, cry for Carter after seeing Vale kiss someone else, laugh at Vale’s grandma, & then cry at a HEA. I loved this book & definitely recommend it (& all of Jillian’s other books obvi).

This is book 3 of the Crawford Brothers. It can be read as a standalone, thankfully, because I’ll be honest I haven’t gotten a chance to read Vegas Love or Broken Love (They are on my to read next!)

Simply put, Jillian has a way with words. I don’t think I have ever read another author where EVERY book is so descriptive that you feel like you are there living each moment & going through the same emotions as the characters. Truly incredible!

I’ve been waiting forever for the third Crawford brother!!!

This story is about Carter and Vale.

Carter and Vale have had a fling going on for a while. She’s a gorgeous model and he’s a handsome sports agent.

Carter has wanted Vale from the beginning, but he didn’t want to scare her with commitment. So they had this fling, until finally Carter wanted more. He was going to surprise her when it all went wrong and he found her with someone else.

Since then they have not been friends, but what happens when Vale needs a wedding date to her sisters wedding to get her dad and ex off her back? What happens when vale is begging on her knees for Carter to help her out? And what happens when he agrees to the rouse of being her fiancé?

This book is filled with laughter, heart ache, and love.

I love Carter so much! Such a sweet guy. And vale is so strong and I love her for that.

Over all great book!

Read if you want a super cute romance and a very hot couple!

Well, first let me say that Carter Crawford is just about perfect! As a sports fan, I really enjoyed reading about his career as a sports agent, and it seemed like author Jillian Dodd really did her research and shared so much about such an interesting career with her readers. From the beginning Vale and Carter's chemistry was apparent and I was hoping their past miscommunication could be solved. Fake engagements are always fun, and Vale's family was such a cast of interesting characters- what a hoot the grandmother was! Reading about the bachelor and bachelorette parties and wedding events was entertaining and Dodd always sets the stage with such vivid imagery. I love a good HEA and had a big smile on my face as I finished Fake Love.

This book does not disappoint!! Carter & Vale’s story begun throughout the first two Crawford books but this end is even better than I hoped! Such a sweet story of a 2nd chance at true love. What started as a casual romance, captures the heart with this one! You have the fun grandmom, strained father-daughter relationship, the ex-boyfriend who won’t give up, and all the extra family that keep readers on their toes! Add in the possible new client relationship and Carter has become my favorite Crawford brother!

I love how Jillian brings in characters from other series and keep their stories alive in the readers’ minds.

Another fantastic book by Jillian.

Carter was ready to settle down, but Vale blew those plans out of the water. All due to miscommunication.
Fast forward a few months, Vale is Desperate (with a capital D). You see her baby sis, the angel of the family is getting married. And you all know you can’t duck out of a family wedding.
Vale reaches out to Carter for a massive save me.
Carter who has been pining for the one that got away, accepts this offer.

Does he sweeten the game plan or stay on the sidelines.
Will the playbooks merge and score the ultimate touchdown or do they have a blow out?
So sweet and swoon worthy! Absolute must read.

This is the second chance romance I didn’t know I needed!

I loved this book. It has everything I needed. Big city people in a small town, a farm, two great main characters, sibling antics, and a beautiful love story.

Vale and Carter were both great characters and they had amazing chemistry. I was rooting for them from the start. Even though they had a rough past with some mistakes and some misunderstandings, as soon as they were together, they were a couple you started supporting.

The setting is so fun. It’s Vale’s family farm in the middle of Iowa, so we get fun shenanigans there.

Fake Love is my favorite in this series! And I loved the whole thing!

This was such a fun read! I love the grandmother's witty remarks and how they can get away with it. They sure do like to keep things interesting.

Charter and Vale.....Vale and Charter....what can I say?! You can tell they are both fighting their feelings for each other and neither one will just come out and say how they feel. But when they do, it's about time! How Charter gets both families together in the end is so romantic and picture perfect. I wouldn't mind a few more books about the Crawford brothers!

This second chance romance pulls at your heart and also wants to make you scream at the main characters. Is being faked engaged going to turn into something beautiful or can it turn into a complete disaster or both.
With characters like grandma and aunt Helen you’ll be rolling on the floor. Join the Martin farm for a wedding that could go in so many directions.

One of my Fave series bc Jillian! I relate a lot to Vale in this story and I really enjoyed getting to see her perspective and growth throughout the book. And Carter!! I really enjoyed this book! I am all about fake relationships, especially when there's a history between the two characters. Carter was the perfect hero. I was swooning from the beginning. I also liked Vale, even though I was mad at her for parts of the book. I laughed, I cried, and now I am going to read the other Crawford Brothers books!

This was another great book by Jillian, Vale is a very independent young woman, and when she has to go home for her sisters wedding she gets her old fling Carter to come along. With a fake engagement and a big weekend wedding, this is a great fun read that will leave you swooning for the Crawford brothers and longing to pick up another one of Jillians books.
