It was my job to protect them. I failed.

Now I have a chance to make it right. All I have to do is go undercover and take down the motorcycle club that ruined my life. Justice—and my redemption—is all that matters. I’m ready for anything.

Or so I thought.

Nothing could’ve prepared me for Gigi—or for the way she makes me feel. The sexy, feisty brunette is property of the MC. Off limits. Dangerous and forbidden.

But none of that matters when she’s in my arms...or in my bed.

I’ll do whatever it takes to atone for my past mistakes and keep Gigi safe. It won’t be easy. We’re surrounded by enemies.

The only thing I’m sure of at this point is that if I’m not careful, I could lose a lot more than my heart…

Captive, book one in the Hollywood Guardians series, is a steamy, dark, enemies to lovers, bodyguard contemporary romance featuring an undercover, protective, alpha male and the strong, smart heroine of his dreams. Happily ever after guaranteed.

Hi! I’m Heather.

It’s great to meet you! I’m a socially-awkward introvert who loves love stories. I’m not awesome at singing or keeping my house clean, but I somehow find the time to obsessively read romance novels. I consider it one of my many talents.

In my opinion, you can never have too many books (or french fries…), messy buns are a girl’s best friend, and I’d probably die without my laptop. If I wasn’t over-committing myself to future stories or procrastinating to meet my deadlines, I’m not quite sure what I’d do with myself.

Be sure to find all sorts of sneak peeks and my more than likely cuss-word filled rantings over on the blog. Oh, and if you’re a fan of getting in the mood to read and connecting to the characters that way, check out the playlists that accompany each story in the “Playlists” tab.

Peace, love, and abs for days.

After reading the Shadow Phoenix series, I was intrigued by Connor (and all the security staff… let’s be honest here). Thankfully, Heather has branched out to the Hollywood Guardians series after completing Shadow Phoenix. I will say, I am COMPLETELY taken by Connor/Shadow. That man is alpha and H.O.T!! The chemistry between him and Gigi is SIZZLING!! I love that Gigi, while property of the MC, is not a “damsel in distress”. She’s, in fact, very smart, and playing her cards. That is… until she meets Connor and all her plans go to hell- right along with his. I loved reading their story play out together- all the positives and negatives- hesitations, heartbreaks, and healing. This story is action-packed and I could not put it down! Highly recommend!

Feel like I’m in the minority here but I just couldn’t like this book. And maybe it’s partially my fault for not reading the Shadow Phoenix series before this but in my defence, I wasn’t aware it was somewhat of a spin off/interconnected. It felt like the book started in the middle. I was so confused starting this book, it took me a while to focus and engage with what I was reading. But then once I did, I was just bored. I think I’ve had my fill of MC gang books for a while, unless I know it’s a super good one. They’re just not hitting the same anymore for me. I hated that it was basically a lust at first sight romance. I didn’t feel any connection between Connor and Gigi at all. He was pining and moping over her, and not in a cute way, and she was refusing to admit her serious feelings for him and turned into a blubbering, insecure mess for most of the book. Personally I found them both really unlikable. I don’t know how or why, it all just really immature. I wouldn’t have guessed these were grown adults at all.

Unfortunately I have few problems with the book
- he was all like 'aint nobody got time for love' then he falls in love first day on the job
- I know its a smut but a BJ in the middle of the torture chamber?
- after everything happened to his friends he really let her go to that house by herself?
- I wanted Gigis POV from the house i feel like that was the turnover in her life

I’ve been waiting for connors book and I wasn’t disappointed.

This series is somewhat of a spin off from the Shadow Phoenix series. I’d suggest reading that series first because you kind of need to understand the background of the ROC and why Connor has this personal vendetta with them.

Now considering Connor has been a brooding, womanising alpha-hole throughout the last series I was surprised as hell with how fast he fell for Gigi, however I understand why it was kind of lust at first sight because he never feels like that with any of his other hookups.

It’s weird not seeing him around the SP group anymore but this book tied up some loose ends from that series and kind of continued it when we find out about Ryan’s pregnancy.

Gigi wasn’t your typical damsel in distress which you’d expect for someone who is a ‘Slave’ to the motorcycle club. I worked out pretty quickly why she was off limits to the ‘brothers’ and about why Savage and his group kind of looked out for her. She’s obviously had a really shit life and I’m glad she sometimes stood up for herself even if it did get her a backhand or worse.

Sometimes she came across as a shy, lonely girl which I guess she really is deep down she’s just had to have this huge persona to deal with the ROC for years. It annoyed me how quickly she believe the C Club over Connor even though he literally never gave her a reason to doubt her ever.

The smut was decent and there was a decent amount of it.

Excited for Montana to be in the next book with Ronin, I’ve been wanting Montana to be in a book for a while now!

This was an okay book to read an passed the time, but I had a little trouble getting into it, everything felt way too rushed, Connor met Gigi, hooked up with her within 5 minutes, and after that was completely willing to risk his life for her, I needed a little bit more to their relationship.

With this book I have come to realize that motorcycle club books are not for me, I've read a few of them and I always have the same issue that I had with this one, I don't like the dynamics and I don't like how they referred to or treat women.

I didn't feel interested in any of the other characters, so I will not continue with this series, but it's not a bad book, and Heather Ashley is a great author, I love her Savage Society of Emerald Hills Series, the next book of that series is coming out next month and I'm very excited about it.

This would have been hire rated except for the fact that she has been a slave for the club for years and they have not touched her physically and then one day she decides to sleep with one of the club members the same club she is a slave for um no that is so dumb why would she voluntarily sleep with a member that is keeping her as a slave there is no good reason as soon as she did that I would be worried now that the club would view her as someone to sleep with I like to think the heroine is smarter that that but no she says she slept with members voluntarily which just makes her stupid and I lost all respect for her have some self preservation just stay invisible.

New Series

First I have to say I adore Heather Ashley. I often wait for series to be completed before I read them but I was seriously hooked with Finding Zen. This book finally developed the character, Connor, the bodyguard. I was so excited when I found we were going to get more on not only Connor, but his entire collection of bad boy bodyguards. I was not disappointed with this book and I am very much looking forward to the rest of the series. I loved Connor and Gigi together and it was a great HEA. Thank you, Heather!

I’ll be honest I had such a huge reading block going into this book so it took me a while to read it and if I was able to read it very frequently I’d probably enjoy it a lot more.

But anyways I did really like this book the chemistry between both of them were great. Connor or Shadow was very overly protective but in a good way. And Gigi was such a feminist especially with growing up in the bicker gang. The Spicy in this book as well was great.

I’m a sucker for a over protective, tattooed, touch her and die kinda guy.

The first spice scene was great, but then the rest just fell kinda flat and felt like it was worked into the story line very awkwardly?
I liked the plot, I liked the characters, but it was just ok. Nothing that grabbed me

Hot & Steamy

My first read from Heather Ashley can not wait to dive right in. There was the right amount of steamy times and alphaness to binge read. No laundry was done, no dishes washed, no meals cooked until I read what happened to Gigi and Connor. Would like to read more about the ROC 💋

I loved reading Captive! It'll keep you on the edge of your seat and reading the entire book in one sitting. I enjoyed all the action and that it took place in an MC. Shadow/Connor is sexy with a capital S! This is a hot, steamy read and I highly recommend it.

There’s always hope

I liked this book and I loved the characters. The plot was also interesting as was the structure of motorcycle gangs etc. I just kind of felt it went a little longer than I would have liked but I would highly recommend the book

Connor and Gigi

This new series is a great continuation from the series, Shadow Phoenix! I liked Connor in Shadow Phoenix stories, but his personality really came out in, Captive.
Can’t wait to read the next one!

Good book!

Really enjoyed the characters and storyline. The only drawback was the constant f this and f that..I am not a prude but I found myself skipping some paragraphs due to the obsessive language.

I started this series after seeing a couple of quotes on tiktok/Instagram and I am so glad I started it.

Connor runs the Hollywood Guardians bodyguard service and when he has his chance for vengeance, he takes it not knowing its about to change his entire life.

This was my first dark romance and I was hooked right from the start! Connor can get it! Ex military, ripped, covered in tattoos, morally grey and a dirty mouth. What isn't there to love?

Gigi Bardot is owned by the club and has been for most of her life. When she is given her chance if freedom by Connor, she takes it. Gigi is feisty and not afraid to fight her own battles, even if it puts her life at risk. You're not captive if your dead.

I loved how protective Connor was over Gigi and being able to see the growth of each of them throughout the book.

This book is a dark forbidden romance with enemies to lovers, bodyguard and gangs.

Forgotten plot device?

It's really odd that the drugs Gigi found in Bomber's saddle bags were completely forgotten about...seems like that would have been helpful in bringing the evil foursome down.

#hollywoodguardians series on
#kindleunlimited did not disappoint!
It's a super steamy and dark #bodyguardromance and there
is a fourth book coming in January!
It's a 5 star out of 5 with a #truecrime aspect
The bodyguard agency protects women who are in danger
because of their living situation or job, and so you can make
those connections on what happens while being protected
by a ripped alpha male or you can read the books (which is
what I recommend)
