Google Blogger is a great choice for beginning bloggers, and "Google Blogger For Dummies" gives you the know-how to venture confidently into the blogosphere.
This is a great resource for anyone considering a blog creation. I had already created my blog, however, there were some great applications and suggestions that I was not aware of and picked up as a result of this book. This reference guide will walk you through every step of creating your blog to things you can do to monitor traffic, drive traffic to your blog, give suggestions for layout and applications that are available as well as walking you through the process of using Google Blogger with your own domain name. I found the book very helpful and there were several things I learned and implemented. The great thing about these series of books is that each chapter is stand alone. Choose the chapters or topics that you are interested in and in whatever order you wish. Some of the features that were discussed were already outdated, as Google is constantly making upgrades, but there is usually another similar application that will do virtually the same thing.
I've been blogging for a while but felt I needed to step up my design.
A lot of the information is for the beginning blogger but if you're looking for resources for new templates and ways to monetize and publicize your blog this is a great reference.
If you don't blog but want to start this book is extremely helpful. She even breaks down the pro's and con's of other hosts so you can determine if blogger is rright for you. When I started i just stumbled my way through. This book would have made it a lot smoother.
Another book in the series "For Dummies" written by Susan Gunelius
Me a dummy, I couldn't pass on this book. I've been searching for a book on blogging and here it was waiting for me at the library. Not the easiest books (about blogging) to find but now I know what to look for and am I'm finding tons of resources for blogging.
I wish I would have found this book when I was first starting out in the blog world. Like most people I started out green, knowing nothing of the workings of a blog.
This book starts you off from scratch, welcoming you to blogosphere. A brief history on blogging. The features and terms of Blogger and Google. Starting, managing, and networking. Templates, tools and all the wizardry of blogging. To posting, to all you'll need to have a successful blog. Using Google to your advantage and growing an audience.
Nothing I don't already know, more like a refresher course. I'm well on my way. Even though it was copywritten in 2009 it still has relevance today. Basic!
I'd give it a four, if I was just starting out but since I've been around the block I'll give it a three.
As a beginner to blogging, I wanted to look for a book that helped me with it. I had set up my blog by the time I read this, but it still provided a much needed information that has left me with a long list of things I need to sort out before I can write my first post.
It's a fantastic source of information for beginners to Google blogger and will help you every step of the way to getting your blog up and running to writing your first post. It describes in detail what you do and how to do it so you don't get lost or confused.
I do recommend to beginners of blogger.com, but not too anybody more advanced in it or with a high level of technical no-how.
This didn't tell me anything the Blogger site didn't. I had a specific problem--like I created 2 domains by accident and didn't want one but...long story. This didn't help. It's supposed to be for DUMMIES who make stupid mistakes like creating two domains, but instead it's for DUMMIES, and I'm not one of those. I hate dummies books anyway--I mean, how stupid do you have to be to buy a dummies book?
Speaking of the Blogger site--is it annoying or what? Can anyone find an answer to anything?
VERY basic. It wasn't particularly useful for anyone who's already created a Blogger account. But, as usual with the Dummies books, the instructions are super clear, and there's a healthy dose of humor in the book.
probably a good book for the absolute beginner but I didn't learn anything that I hadn't already figured out myself just by playing around with the blogger site. In fact the help I was looking for wasn't in the book and I had to just play around with the settings.
