DNF. The italic confused me, i didn't get invested in the story, it was not for me.

This book is about Eve, a seemingly very impulsive lady who decided to live her life and start dating once she mourned her mother.

The blurb seemed promising enough but the execution really brought everything down for me. What I can say is that I managed to read it in one setting thanks to the quick pace, although I was tempted to just put the book in my DNF pile often enough.

I did not really like Eve's character most of the book but I'm glad she eventually realised she needed help. This however made me question her life choices in the last few pages because how did she manage to still be so trusting!? And after reading everything and going through the many ups and downs, twists and turns, and the emotional rollercoaster the book gave me, I needed a moment to just breathe and ask myself what I just read and admit I am curious about a sequel.

The book does need some editing and I would have rated it higher had I gotten enough plateaus after intense scenes or even a more fleshed out story. Also I believe a content warning or two would have helped because going into the book, I unknowingly didn't expect thriller/action genre levels of story.

Finally, I will say I would tentatively recommend this book if you're looking for loads of drama and don't mind editing issues. I will still read more of the author's books just in case it was just this one book not to my tastes.

I sat and read this in day.
The twists, turns, the love, the hate, the loss and the finds.
My heart went out to Eve and her plight.
