Woww well that certainly was a long volume. I mean, at 530 pages, can you even really call it a "light novel"? that's just a straight up novel at that point. Definitely the longest in the series by far.

Anyway, that aside, how was the actual story? Well this time around the villainous country from the 2nd novel is back and this time it's all out war essentially. (after leon is in jail for a bit).

The first half of the book is essentially a mix of politics as well as some adventure in a temple early on, but the second half is essentially the gigantic war. The two girls on the cover at the princesses of the warring nation.

There are some things we learn about the characters this time around, but the thing i'm really happy about is that we finally get a resolution to the Marie/Leon thing in terms of they learn the true identities about each other. it was made extremely obvious in volumes 1 and 2 who they were in relation to each other and i was just WAITING for the resolution to pop up as i found the fact that they didn't realize it yet to get old fast.

Some of the characters are interchangeable in this one, like i mistook several characters for others seeing that there is a LOT of characters in this one. like a LOT A LOT. keeping track of all the characters was definitely one of the hardest tasks.

Leon was still fun in this one, while Livia and Angie (two of the love interests) were kind of dull. They didn't really DO a whole lot. Livia gave a whole lotta friendship speeches while Angie....well angie didn't do a whole lot of anything.

In fact, i would argue the actual breakout star of this volume was Marie, the girl who replaced Livia as the protagonist. She actually had a lot of great character development in this one. She 100% took the spotlight from Leon in this volume in my opinion. We had quite a bit of backstory of her and some very nice character development as well. I know this sounds weird, but i'm actually way more interested in seeing Marie develop in the story than i am Leon. Which is impressive because starting off, i really didn't like her very much.

While Leon is more of a "Eh... i'm bored, i want a quiet life", Marie is much more of a flawed character. She's selfish, she had an awful life before she was reincarnated, and is trying to learn things and i have feeling she's going to be a better person eventually which i'm really looking forward to. Speaking of which, i hear there's actually a spin-off light novel series starring Marie. I think i'll give that a shot.

Still, if a volume's goal was to make me want to learn more about a side character that you're meant to dislike in the beginning, then kudos! you have accomplished your goal.

All in all, there was enough in here that i really enjoyed, like the marie stuff, but there was also a lot of ...meh stuff with livia and Angie as well as the annoying "stuck in jail" section of the book while they talked about politics. still, for 530 pages, i managed to get through it pretty fast and didn't feel like it overstayed its welcome too too much.

Had a good time with it and definitely looking forward to volume 4 as well as the spin-off book.

3.75 out of 4 rounded up to a 4.

I have read till vol 5.
It all depends on the ending ...if it has happy harem ending it is AWESOME else NOT.

I really LOVE the MC (LEON),

He is good and the constituents of his Harem are really fine Ladies....but I don't  LIKE Marie..I agree she had good contribution in vol 4 but I dont wanna see her more...

ALso I hope the MC ends up with Olivia Angelica Noelle and Louise by the end of this series....They are the best...I would really LOVE to see that more wonderful ladies fall in Love with Leon like his beautiful  senpais....I really want this in the form of an Anime....

I love you Yomu Mishima for giving us something like this....please take care of the developments from here....

Advice:There should some alone time where Leon shows his affection to his fiancees,Noelle,Louise.....Eagerly awaiting Volume 6 and hoping for a nice happy harem ending...preferably with Marie out of the entire equation or crying tears of blood

Leon might think he has won, but he never knew about part 2 and 3 of the game. So when things go wrong, they go real wrong. Leon could run, but that is not his thing. Volume 3 more or less ends the first arc of the series. Like previous two volumes it leaves me a bit conflicted. I like the story, the world building is decent and the setup intriguing. I don't even mind Leon's character most of the time, but the issue is that when his actions do grate, they do so a lot. It might be mostly for comedic effect, but is is a bit too over the top and it is also not necessary for the story, because in all those instances it had no consequences whether trying to throttle an elder elf or rushing into a jail into a fit of anger to supposedly kill somebody or any of the other situations.

Volume 3 of the series is entertaining with Leon’s reluctant rise in social status and the chaos that follows. His growing influence makes him a target for political rivals, which leads to some clever and funny situations. The stakes feel higher this time with the Principality of Fanoss launching an attack on the Holfort Kingdom, adding tension to the story. Leon’s strategies to navigate his imprisonment and decide where his loyalties lie make for engaging character moments. Overall, it’s a fun and clever continuation that balances humor, action, and intrigue, forcing the MC to make choices he has been putting off.

Wow! What a page turner

This was a really good book. It was one that made you turn page after page. was really good to see how each one of the characters evolved. It was also great to see how they continue to story. This was a really good book. Again by watching anime do you at least see one of the characters from the first arc. Seeing how they continued flushing out the story was really good. I recommend this book.

Wasted potential to develop Marie and Leon's relationship. The tonal whiplash from a silly power fantasy to Marie being revealed to have died because she was beaten to death by her boyfriend is too much. Also Leon's reaction to said revelation was not appropriate at all for the scene. There was also the whole plot point relating to the elves village which the less said about it the better.

Holy crap! This was by far my favorite book of the series (so far), what with the war and all the villains/traitors getting their just desserts. And the love interests...oh wow, I laughed way too much because of their antics. I'm looking forward to the next volume!

New content!

In this volume they wrap up the game Leon played. I love the developments and the silliness. Can't wait to read the next one!

This volume goes past the last manga I read and a full arc part the anime.

Okay, this is seriously way different from the web novel version but I like it, I guess? It’s more grim and more serious wrapped in complex lore and background. Overall, one of the strongest volumes in the story for sure.

This was a pretty great volume that basically wrapped up the 1st three volumes. Totally could have ended as a trilogy if author wanted.

Drop in storyline development and writing quality

Unfortunately, this will probably be my last in this series. The story has become forced and unnatural. There are still some good elements, but the over emphasis on the pettiness of the lead characters became very tiresome by the end. I do not care to be dragged any further through story lines that now look like they will never resolve for mere up reasons.
