Sharpen Your Sword for Revenge

Akira got summoned to another world along with his entire class, but it quickly became clear that the king who brought them there had ulterior motives. Framed for the murder of his own friend and ally, Akira has taken his newfound skills as an assassin on the run, gaining strength in secret to someday claim revenge. After meeting an elf-maiden named Amelia, he accompanied her back to her homeland, where he put an old elven grudge to rest. Now his journey takes him to the land of the beast-men, searching for a smith worthy of the ultimate blade.

Black cats are reviled? How dare they!

Interesting new characters and I have a suspension about something that will make me VERY happy if it pans out!

Extrait :

Omg I loved this volume so much. A lot less action, but it was okay. We got some back story for Amelia and Kilika and tension majorly growing between Akira and Amelia. And then the whole group is finally about to be reunited. Ahhhhhh I love it, I’m so excited to start the next volume!

Not too much happened in this volume, it felt a bit like a filler. Akira, Amelia and Yoru leave the elf kingdom and continue their journey. The art again was amazing and I love Yoru, this sassy demon cat XD

2.25-2.50 rounded up to 3 - i understand why some say it felt like filler but i think it sets up the next part of the story nicely & it reignited my original excitement in this series! i agree with the creator, that cover art IS amazing!

Spoilers ahead for the earlier volumes.

It opens with Amelia's reconciliation with her family and their guilt over their failures. But she still leaves with Akira when they decide to go the land of Beasts, for his sword.

And the hero and the other students, looking for him, conclude he's not where they are, and they should go on, to the human lands.

More about Akira's past, and the situations they were summoned for.

As the Elven King realized his parenting error at the end of volume three, volume four opens with him restoring Princess Kilila’s memories and the royal family finally dealing with the trauma that they have been avoiding for so long. On the other side of the world, Akira’s classmates determine their next course of action after leaving the Kingdom of Yamato. Then, Akira and Amelia decide where to go once they leave the Elven palace. Akira wants to continue leveling up, but his equipment is in serious need of some repairs.

This volume begins with quite a bit of action and some much deserved backstory for Amelia who, until this point, has been traveling with Akira for unknown reasons other than just helping a person who seems like they could defeat the Demon King. Now that she has a little more development, we need to see a bit more time devoted to Akira's classmates to make them fully individual people.
