I have read one other of this authors books but this one is the last one I will read. I got through the part of Hobo Woods where he had a ravishing blonde female on patrol in the jungles of VieNam. It was ridiculous but I managed it. I in this book the same blonde bomb shell is after him plus a female Vietnamese is going on patrol with him. I got through that but barely. I heard him to refer an Air Force person as an " Air Force puke" I got through that, then he used the term a second time. I put the stupid book down and erased it. I would never devalue any other service member of our military regardless of the branch of military they were in. I was in the U S Air Force at DaNang Ab VietNam from Oct 1966 to Sept 1967. DaNang was known as "Rocket Alley" because of the attacks we got. I worked on the O1E Bird Dog that the ground troops called when they needed air support. We had the bravest pilots in the world( several were awarded the Medal Of Honor. I read the books about the ground troops out in the bush so I can fully appreciate what they went through. I wish this author's books were removed from Amazon. I am a 20 year veteran of the US Air Force and this man just belittle all of it. Msgt Denis L Neal USAF Ret

I enjoyed this one. These all have a nice blend of squad based action, the crazy bureaucracies of the military, and the self importance of the press. This time Mack and team are sent into North Vietnam by parachute to look into what appears to be a new missile system that is taking out planes on bombing runs. While on the ground they run into several problems.

Highly recommend this series, always a lot of action and the characters are well written.

This is one of my favorite series about the Vietnam War. When I'm reading it I feel as if I'm seeing what the author (Eric Helm is a name for two men who served in Vietnam and wrote these books)may have saw and went through. It is just a really great series.
