I enjoyed reading this well-written, intense mafia romance & it is a good addition to the “Doherty Mafia” series. I am not going to give the plot away but I can tell you that it has a suspenseful “second chance” undertone & is filled with intrigue. The characters are well-developed & interesting with realistic doubts & reservations.
It is about: a young woman (Leah Michaels) was disowned by her very religious family some years ago & is finally returning home to comfort her dying mother but Leah is promptly drawn into a dangerous situation.
There is: a despicable man (Aldo Baron), Leah’s ex-boyfriend (Aiden Doherty), mafia cartels, rivalry, adventure, action, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, deceit, betrayal, family issues, secrets, sad memories, heartache, danger, threats, blackmail, manipulations, confrontations, conflict, violence, suspicions, distrust, emotional turmoil, vulnerability, regrets, decisions, some steamy scenes & a hard-earned, satisfying conclusion.

The second book in the Doherty Mafia series brings Aidan and Leah's story. They have a past which ended abruptly with feelings of betrayal and pain for both of them. Five years later she returns. Can they recapture the passion? This is their story. The author brings drama and intrigue as well as the explosive emotions and sizzling romance. She had me glued to the pages with the tension and anxiety coming through the pages. It's well written with descriptive and detailed scenes , moves quickly and smoothly and is a fantastic book to the series. I loved this book and am looking forward to the next one. Highly recommend reading.

The story begins with Aidan Doherty of the Doherty Mafia family and the ongoing conflict surrounding them, one that is full of suspense and plenty of drama, especially when Aidan is forced to relive his past. Aidan and Leah were two young lovers who were torn apart by Leah's religious fanatic parents who forced her to leave home five years ago when they found about her condition leaving these two young lovers shattered. Aidan could never forgive Leah for leaving him with no word. Leah's only regret was leaving Aidan behind without being able to contact him. This was an emotional story full of danger, violence, threats, and heartache.

Now five years later she has to return home to help the one person who turned her back on her when she is told her mother is dying and asking for her. Can she do this task without seeing Aidan? This situation will put Leah right in the middle of a war between the Doherty's and Aldo Barone. Leah is being forced to spy on Aidan or Aldo and his henchmen will kill her mother and reveal to Aidan what she has kept from him. The interaction between Aidan and Leah is full of anger and lies when Leah reaches out to Aidan he is outraged but agrees to see her. This story will have you on edge with this ongoing war, full of violence, chaos and secrets. How far will Leah go to achieve her task? What happens when Aidan sees her with the enemy as he is wondering if she is using him by working with them to take his family down? Now Aidan has to keep what he knows from her and his brothers as they are hard to fool once they learn she is back. Aidan is torn as all of the feelings he pushed aside when Leah left him comes to the surface. Can he forgive her for breaking his heart as he knows she is keeping the truth from him. These two will begin a dangerous game together one that is full of passion and desire as the chemistry they had all those years never died as they begin a relationship that is fast hard and explosive. When Leah is caught by Aidan spying, she confesses everything to him about Aldo's threats and what happened to her five years ago leaving Aiden devastated when he learns what was taken from him. Can he forgive her? Now in order to protect her they will work together with his family to end this threat involving Aldo and her ex-boyfriend. Will they be able to forget the past and embrace the love they have always had for each other or will Aldo Barone take it all away. This highly suspenseful romance story was well written and with all of the twists and turns you will be on edge till the end especially when Leah informs Aidan that they may be able to meet someone that was lost to them. Can't wait for the next book as these Doherty Brothers are each in their own right, charismatic alpha badass men.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Doherty Mafia series. In this book, Leah came back to town when she learned her mother was dying. Leah is the former girlfriend of Aiden, a member of the Doherty family. Leah was from a very religious family and when she learned she was pregnant, her family made her leave town and live with a distant relative. Leah was all alone and gave the baby up for adoption. Leah never told Aiden about the baby and knows if he found out he would be furious. When Leah was approached by a rival crime boss wanting information on Aiden and his family, he threatened her mother and to tell Aiden about the baby unless she spied for him. Leah knew she had no choice, so she contacted Aiden. Aiden was shocked to hear from Leah, the girl he could never get over. Aiden thought if he saw her he could finally move on, but he only wanted her more, which made him angry with himself because he knew she would leave again. Aiden thought he might also learn why she left. i really enjoyed this book. I love how Aiden wanted to be with Leah, even though he didn't trust her, he knew there was something she was hiding. Leah was still in love with Aiden and wanted to be with him. I think she was in an impossible situation and tried to do what she thought she had to do. This was one i couldn't put down. Another good one and i look forward to reading more.

This is an exciting suspense filled mafia second chance romance story.At first Leah wasn't sure she would go back to her hometown since her parents sent her away like she never mattered.Now with her father dead and her mother dying she didn't know what to say to the nurse.So when Leah got to town she never expected to be hit thrown into a car an sat in front of a mobster who said if she didn't get close to maiden an get him information he'd kill her mom in the most painful way ever.She refused at first saying Aiden hated her but finally after being hit several times agreed to his plan.When Aiden found out Leah was back he couldn't believe it at first he wanted to hurt her for all the heartache he had.But then he an Leah got close again .will he find out her secrets?Will he decide he loves her anyway?There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted until the very last page an will have you begging for more.I love the way these amazing authors bring the characters to life before your eyes an you can feel their emotions an their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by these multi talented authors.

Leah hasn't seen her mom in five years, after her parents kicked her out. Now her mom is dying and she returned home. She never expected for someone to know her let alone approach her to get information on Aidan!!! Will she get information to save herself and her mother? Will Aidan speak to her and let her close enough ever again?

This is book 2 of the Doherty Family and still very intense and exciting!! This story has everything from betrayal, murder, mystery, tragedy, heartbreak, second chances, love,, lust, romance and hope!!! I can't wait to see what happens next with Aidan and Leah as well as the other brothers!!! I recommend this book and any by Kasey and Savannah!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author. I can't wait for more from am Savannah Rylan.

The Hot Doherty Brothers Series Continues...
A Romantic Irish Mafia Series that features the Doherty Brothers.
This is book two and is about the Doherty brother, Aidan. Five years ago at the age of twenty-three he was jilted by the love of his life, Leah, who at eighteen got on a train and left. Now five years later she has come back to town because her mother is on her death bed. Unfortunately she get wrangled in between two warring families with one of them wanting Leah to spy on Aidan Doherty or threatening her with killing her, her mother, and revealing a secret to Aidan.
There is a lot going on in this book but the storytelling is so well done that the plot moves along smoothly from chapter to chapter. I hope that their story will continue on as Killian and Reese from Book One continued on in this book.
I’m wholeheartedly recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. I also recommend that you read book one, Killian. PEACE.

Aiden has been with other women the past 5 yrs, however, he's never had anyone special like Leah was to him. When Leah comes back into town to see her mom who is dying, she doesn't want to run into Aiden, she doesn't want to open that box of memories again. However, the mob member Aldo Baron makes her. 

Aldo wants Leah to give her information on Aiden and the Doherty family. She doesn't want to deceive Aiden and she doesn't want to go against his family. Will Leah be able to trust her heart and mind and go up against Aldo?

Leah fell in love with Aidan five years earlier however her conservative parents were determined to keep them apart and she was exiled from town. Now that her father has passed away and her mother seriously ill she returns to her hometown. All she wants is to do what she needs to do as quickly and quietly as possible but she finds herself caught between the man she loves and his enemies.

Aidan was devasted when Leah left town with no warning and no further contact. He is angry as he wasn’t aware of why she left but now that she is back the chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever.

This story takes us on an action packed adventure filled with intrigue, heat and emotion as they must not only deal with the secrets of their pasts but the danger in the present as well.

This is an emotional romance story that is woven with drama and intrigue with Aidan, a member of the Doherty Mafia family, and Leah, the woman that disappeared 5 years ago. Returning home, Leah is kidnapped and becomes a pawn between two warring families. Their story is packed with action as Aidan moves heaven and earth to save her. A great mafia romance story, it has all the suspense and feels that readers expect from a Savannah Rylan and Kasey Krane read. "Aidan" is the second book in the series and can be read as a standalone. **I was gifted "Aidan" via the authors and leave my review based on my reading.** 4.5 Stars!

If your looking for an amazing mafia romance read that has a lot of twist and turns this is the book for you. Highly enjoyed the main characters Aidan & Lela once shared something special not good enough for her to end things on a good note, she left without a word to Aiden.
This destroys him but will her secret hurt him or bring them closer together? This one is loaded with love, hate, secrets, deception and drama filled rollercoaster all wrapped up in one page turner. Can't wait for the next book in this series,

This one just jumps right into the action and Leah Michaels found herself in the middle of it all, right between two families, The Doherty's and The Baron's.
Aiden and Leah's story is so emotionally charged. They have quite the journey to get to their HEA and there's nothing about it that's easy. Especially with the secret that Leah's keeping. Aiden is an exciting book and I love that we also get appearances from Killian and Reese. It's an exceptional book and I can't wait for the next brother.

This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. Aidan and Leah were young and fell totally in love with each other until her parents ripped them apart and she wasn’t even allowed to say goodbye or explain. Now five years later she is back and ends up in the middle of a mafia war. Loads of drama, suspense, steam and twists and turns. Great characters with lots of depth and emotion. I really liked it.

I thought that this was a really good read. Aidan and Leah's relationship is complicated by a painful past and long buried feelings. Tension, turmoil, drama and intense emotions make a potent brew that simmers across every well written, attention grabbing page. Can't wait to read the next book. Exciting storyline, the pages flew by, looking forward to reading the next brother Colin.

There is alot to this story, it well written and its an enjoyable read. This is the 2nd book in this series.

I was so connected to this story because of my own story. I understood the fear of being pregnant in high school and having to tell my parent. My story turned out different then the Aidan and Leah. I'm glad that they found each other again and their baby boy.
