He needs a fraa, and a mother for his kinner. She wants someone to love. Could their meeting be a match made in Heaven?
Emily Miller loves tending her garden and roadside stand, but she admits her love life is dull. While she’s ridden home from singings with several young men from her community, none of them fulfills the image her mind’s eye conjures up. She wants a man who is not only kind and hardworking, but responsible and loves children. So, when shy widower Titus Troyer shows up at her roadside stand with his adorable kinner, something tugs at her heart.
Titus Troyer made a fool out of himself when he prematurely asked Martha Miller to marry him and attempted a courtship with her, and he doesn’t ever intend to repeat a mistake of that magnitude again. But when vibrant Emily Miller, Martha’s younger sister, meets his eye at her family’s roadside stand, he can’t deny his attraction. But would a pretty, and very available, young woman like Emily even give a man like him a second thought? More importantly, can he summon the courage to find out?
A sweet love story about finding love when you least expect it.

This book will release on June 1, and you will want to pick it up it’s a wonderful book in the series (Amish Country Brides #7) Now you could read this as a stand alone but you may want to read the entire series because I can’t tell you what a special series this is. Each book has a very wonderful storyline I know you will like as I did. As far as this book The Widower is a charming story of Emily Miller and Titus Troyer Emily is a young woman who runs a garden produce stand for her family and loves being part of her community, being with her friends and family. Titus is slightly older than Emily and a widow with three young children, he is a good man but has some things he has to work through. Can God work on these young peoples hearts or does he have another path planned for them. Does fear of the past keep Titus from moving forward ? Will Emily be able to understand and move forward or will this be a deal breaker for them? This book is another wonderful read, pick it up see for yourself I just know everyone will love it as I did.
The Widower is the 7th inspiring book in the Amish Country Brides series written by Jennifer Spredemann. This story is truly inspiring reminding the readers to turn their fears over to God for help. Titus Troyer is looking for a new grass and when he accidently encounters Emily Miller he is struck by how he feels around her. But having fear from his first fraa's death things may not work out for them. This story is filled with love, family, forgiveness, and second chances. The characters are very likeable and are amazing for telling this story. I enjoyed getting to know Emily and Titus's story and look forward to another great adventure in this series.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.
Widower Titus Troyer embarrassed himself when he was younger by pursuing Martha Miller and trying to date her only to discover she was being courted by someone else. Imagine his surprise when he shows up at a roadside produce stand with his children and discovers the pretty lady attending it is none other than Marta’s younger sister Emily. When she catches his eye, she soon discovers the attraction she feels for Titus and that his children have captured her heart. She wants what everyone else has...a husband, a home and children to raise. Titus feels the same way about Emily, but will he be able to move passed the humiliation from his younger years with her sister and the death of his wife to pursue Emily? Will their age difference cause Emily to to put a hold on her feelings for Titus? I enjoyed this book because of the gentleness in which both Titus and Emily had to pursue their love interest with each other.
As Titus and Emily meet, they quickly made a connection. Titus, a widower with children, is very attracted to Emily. But deep within his heart is a fear that may cause a rift in their blossoming relationship and keep him from moving on with his life. A heartwarming romance, this book is sure to keep you reading. It's a charming, enjoyable and Christian read that holds your attention to the end. This sweet romance is another book from a growing series of sweet and lovely romances. The author has a way of bringing in Christian values that are not only important only to the Amish of whom she writes, but to all Christians alike and helps all to realize that our faith can help us overcome all fears.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own.
This is such a delightful read. Titus is a sweetheart and a true romantic but the loss of his fraa has never left him. She is a lovely young woman who instantly feels a connection with his kinner first and then with Titus. But can they really find a life together?
Other wonderful characters are Sammy, the wise old Bible teacher. The author doesn't call him that but he is. You will wish you could talk to Sammy who explains so clearly the difference between knowing about God and having God in your heart.
And then there is nasty Susan (her sister). Just the right level of grumbling discontent that you want to tell her, "If you can't say something nice, then be quiet." I think Susan will turn out to be the major character in the next book in this series .
Titus, an older man with 3 children has been widowed for several years. He is ready to move on, and his children need a mother. He once courted and proposed marriage to Martha Miller and felt foolish when she turned him down for another. Now that Martha's younger sister Emily has caught his eye, will he move forward to pursue her, or would he just make a fool of himself again? Emily Miller is pretty, loving, and kind to Titus' children. She's looking for a husband who is responsible, hard working and loves children. Even though Titus is 10 years older and once courted her sister, can he be the man for Emily? With 3 children? A wonderful Amish story of God's love and healing. I highly recommend this book.
The Widower by Jennifer Spredemann is a feel good Christian story. Titus Troyer has been a widower raising his three young children on his own for two years. When he meets Emily Miller, they begin a friendship even though he is ten years older than her. They are both leery of love but they feel drawn to each other. Titus is a romantic and he does little things to make Emily happy! He makes a great hero. Emily is sweet and caring and she makes a great heroine. Now that I have discovered this Amish Country Brides series, I want to read the others.
What a delightful story! This latest book in the Amish Country Brides Series is a true delight to read. Special thanks to J.E.B. Spedemann for allowing me to participate in her team to read and review the book. This is the story of Titus and Emily, Titus has to overcome the loss of his fraa Helen and the Faith to Give it to God. Emily is a truly special Amish young lady with a wonderful heart and a desire to find Gott's plan. Happy Reading for sure and for certain!
Book #7 of the Amish Country Brides series is another great story.. and again it has my favorite character, Sammy... oh what a wise old man.. he is someone everyone needs when they have a problem or just needs a shot of the Lord's love.. I do recommend this book as well as the others in this series..
Sometimes we all face fear. Are you able to get through it, or does it paralyze you? Titus has had loss in his life that has brought on fear. Will he let that fear control him, or will he conquer it with the help of Der Herr. Read and find out if Titus Will cast his fears aside.
As always Jennifer Spredemann writes a wonderful, delightful story. Love her characters Emily and Titus, and his endearing children. I just love they way her story unfolds and captures your attention. When reading her books I am drawn into the story from the first page. Truly a great book for all to read!
Titus loses his wife to an accident. He's left with three young children to rear. Finding a new love causes him to Face the fear that he could again lose someone he loves dearly. Can he conquer his worst fears or will he live the remainder of his life in fear?
Five stars is not enough for this wonderful book. Titus lost his first wife Helen and didn't think he could ever think about getting married again, until he met Emily. He's just a super romantic. I especially liked the writing of the notes he wrote for her on there first date. I love this author, thank you for such a wonderful read.
Another great Amish romance by Jennifer Spredemann. A story about an Amish widower with three children who falls in love with a younger Amish woman. He faces his fears and tests his Faith while pursuing this relationship. It's a page turner.
I recommend this series to everyone. It gives inspiration and explains God's word. We all have things we allow to stand in the way of our happiness, all we have to do is have faith in God.
As the other books in this series, I so enjoyed the story. It is so well written and the characters are memorizing. Starting the next in the series right away. Thank you
Warm and interesting view into the Amish courtship and marriage customs. The Widower is a warm and wonderful love story between two very likable characters. Thank you, Ms.Spredemann , for a very enjoyable afternoon.
As with all Amish books, this was an easy read. It is good to read things that are positive, strongly religious but not preachy, and simple. I find Amish stories calming, satisfying, and a nice respite from many modern books.
Fair read. I've live in Amish/ Mennonite country. Some of things in book are facts I know there are different sects tiles are different. We have Old sects of Amish which are stricter than Mennonite sects. Too many holes, it was an easy read.
