No one has captured in business and technical terms the emerging benefit and value created by this new era of data better than author, Randy Bean. He has a long track record of articles, blogs, podcast, and speaking engagements capturing the various points in time where data went from geek speak to common day business language. In this book he shares in non-technical terms the importance of Big Data and advanced analytics techniques such Artificial Intelligence has arrived at a point for any successful organization to understand where they are on the journey and consideration toward the next step of success to achieve business results. The book is filled with hundred of examples of well known and even hidden gem success stories across industries. I would recommend this book to the novice who is trying to understand the topic of Big Data or the experienced leader assessing where to focus their organization in the next part of the journey.

This is more of a history lesson than an instructional lesson about Chief Technology Officers.

Such a great resource for knowledge in the era of Big Data. I liked the author’s point of view regarding big data, AI and how companies laverage that, their approach, investing strategy, training and so on.
Fail fast, learn faster is an insightful book, well written and easy to read even for someone who is not technically versed, which is even better, because everyone in business should be able to learn from these lessons.
