The Book - "The Prophet and Other Works" is a beautiful collection of Gibran's notable works. The book is divided into three parts - The Prophet, The Broken Wings, A Tear And A Smile. The first part - "The Prophet", contains musings of Gibran in twenty-six (26) lessons narrated by a wise man named Al Mustafa. It deals with love, joy, sorrow, family, money death and many more things. The second part - "The Broken Wings", is poetic story of tragic love, set in Beirut. It deals with loveless marriage, sorrow, pain, love, heartbreak and much more. Through the character Selma, various social issues were brought into light. The third part - "A Tear And A Smile", is a collection of verses and poems, beautifully written by the author, which emphasis on different phases of human life and the wonders of being alive.
Overall, I really liked the book. Although I've already read - "The Prophet", long time back, but still it feels so good reading it again. After "The Prophet", I really liked -"The Broken Wings". Kahlil Gibran need no introduction, he is one of the most celebrated writers of all time and his works speaks for itself. The language used is simple and lucid. The cover of the book is beautiful. If you've not read his works, you should pick this one.
