STORY:
As much as I appreciate the twist and turns in this book, I found it was still ok/likable. My excitement in book 1, Surrogate Betrayal was clear. In book 2, which is a standalone, felt like it gave the same tempo throughout nothing that spike me all the way up. It wasn’t bad but didn’t wow me as well.

With that being said, I still very much enjoyed Victoria. Strong will and I like the way she kept pushing Andrei. Andrei was stern, but I enjoyed watching him caved to Victoria.


CHEMISTRY:
Physical they had good chemistry and enjoyed them together.


SECONDARY CHARACTERS
I enjoyed all the characters. I don’t think anyone popped out too much.


Overall, likable read that didn’t wow me but still engaged me.

Collateral Deceit was an entertaining book. I liked both Victoria and Andrei but Victoria really stuck out as a strong character in my opinion. She was a smart and headstrong person. A woman on her own mission and willing to do whatever it took to uncover the truth. I would have liked it to have a bit of a darker feel to the story than what it had but I still really liked how the plot carried out. There were some twists I didn't see coming. Definitely worth reading.

I liked the overall plot and the story itself was written really well. I initially liked Andrei as a character, however as the plot went on, I just felt like he lost his edge a little bit. I really like my heroes to be dominating, controlling and etc and he was just too nice for the Bratva storyline and I felt the chemistry was lacking between him and Victoria.

Another great story by Aria Ray. This is the story of Victoria and Andrei. Victoria is a photojournalist who is looking for answers as to why her sister (Shannon) was killed and find her missing niece (Emily). She is a feisty, strong woman who will do anything to get what she wants. Even give herself up to the Mafia. Andrei is an enforcer with the Mafia. He can be ruthless, dangerous and deadly. But there is also another side to him, a side that doesn’t want to break the code, but when your Pakhan speaks, you listen. Can Victoria and Andrei work through their past and their lies? There is so much drama, deception, betrayal, passion, and loyalty. I did not put this down until I was finished because I just had to see how this was going to play out. I cannot wait to read more from Aria Ray as she is becoming a favorite of mine. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy through Booksprout ARC’s for an honest review.

This bratva story was quite intricate. Victoria was on a mission to uncover the truth about her missing estranged sister, Shannon and the the whereabouts of her niece, Emily. After driving head first into the dark and dirty underworld, Victoria uncovers a while host of shady people. As Andrei comes into her life, Victoria had to work through the past and try to gain the knowledge what happened before her sister's letter arrived, but doing so brings the two unlikely lovers closer together. They fight their feelings and battle with their own truths and deception. Andrei is a better man than you first realise, but others have been working behind the scenes for too long. When it all comes together it makes for an interesting read.

Liked the book, good balance of a mafia book, good romance, angst, violence, and plot. I was disappointment for a couple reasons, 1: I thought this "series" was interconnected. There was nothing linking this book to the first one. 2: I wish the pahkan would of been able to see how messed up his daughter Mila was, and that letting her run wild was a bad move. That he would of been able to be told "I told you so" Instead he was shot from behind, I wish Alexi would of gone to prison too, he didn't deserve a quick death. It is always a little anti-climatic when you have the bad guy through the whole book, and he gets killed suddenly. It deprives you of being able to relish in the bad guy getting whats coming to him. Maybe I'm a little off in the head because of this view. lol

Victoria is determined to uncover the truth about her sisters murder and the disappearance of her niece, she suspects getting info on the Bratva is the way to go and sets her self up to be taken, only Andrei isnt the type of man Victoria was expecting. Andrei is second in command and a ruthless enforcer dedicated to the Bratva. and when your Pakhan says jump you ask how high but when things start to change Andrei has to decide where his loyalties and heart lie? this is well written filled with action, suspense, drama, hot scenes, desire and more!

I thought that this was a really good book. Victoria and Andrie were great together. I really enjoyed the twits and turns, drama, steam, intrigue, and gripping story that this book had to offer. This is the second book in the series and I can't wait to read more of said series. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. I loved ❤ the characters.
I loved❤ the plot and storyline.

This story has ups and downs.
Their chemistry was like a magnet and they have some scorching hot🔥sex scenes.

I understand Victoria wants to save her family but she is going the wrong way about it, especially not telling Andrei the truth straight away. There was a surprise or two I did not expect.
