How To Cowboy is book three in the Creedence Horse Rescue series by Jennie Marts. I’ve loved the first two books in this series and was looking forward to Cade’s book and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. It was absolutely wonderful. This book revolves around three people, Cade Callahan, Nora Fisher, and Allison Raye, Cade’s thirteen year old daughter.

Cade Callahan is Bryn’s cousin. He made his living in the rodeo but is no longer able to compete. Now his home is on the Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue ranch. Cade was married when he was very young but a few years after the birth of their daughter, the tumultuous marriage ended. In the years since, Cade hasn’t been much of a part of his daughter, Allie’s life. Part of that is due to his ex-wife but he also accepts plenty of the blame. He could have tried harder. But now tragedy has struck. His ex is gone and his daughter is injured. He now finds himself in charge of an angry, grieving, injured thirteen year old daughter he barely knows.

Nora Fisher is a physical therapist. Her life has also taken a turn for the worse lately which resulted in her living in her mother’s basement. When her friend, Elle, called and told her about the injured girl, she knew she could help her. So for the next several weeks, Nora will be living on a ranch, a far cry from the city life she is used to.

The connection between Nora and Cade was immediate and strong. But both are determined to ignore it. Cade knows he needs to have all of his focus on his daughter and Nora the same. Not to mention, she needs this job. Allie is so lost but finds peace among the animals on the ranch. Animals that were taken in, that needed her love as much as she needed theirs. Together, these three that were brought together in a tragedy, find a sense of family. Slowly Allie finds herself able to smile, laugh even. But she can’t let go of a lifetime of the feeling of abandonment by her father. This poor girl only knows that her mother, aunt and grandfather told her all of her life. Sadly, very little of it was true.

Life at Heaven Can Wait is anything but boring. There’s Tiny the pig, who is anything but tiny, and thinks she’s a dog. She doesn’t hesitate to just let herself into the house, plop on the couch and watch television. And a very ornery goat who gets into all kinds of trouble. Then there’s the escape artist miniature pony who always steals my heart. Add in several abandoned horses, various puppies and cats and you’ve got quite an interesting mixture. All of this is the perfect place for Allie to heal, both physically and emotionally.

This was such a fun, sweet, sexy story. Both Nora and Cade have made mistakes in their lives. They have a chance at something special together but are they ready? Can Allie and her dad make a life together? I love my visits to this ranch and have fallen in love with all of the residents there. So, get comfortable and get ready for a trip to Creedence, Colorado. I hope you love it there as much as I do.

This is a Cowboy Romance, and this is the third book in the Creedence Horse Rescue series. This is all about a 13 year old Allie getting over her Mother's death, and her having to move in with her father that she has not really seen since she was really young. I really love how Cade the father did not say anything bad about the Mother to Allie. I love how Cade try really hard to show is daughter how much he really wants her even if he has not been in her life for a long time. Cade also has a physical therapist come stay on the ranch to help with Allie's getting over her injuries. The PT is one of the main characters in this book, and I really loved her character. The characters are really great, and the animals for just everything in this book series. There are some really funny moments in this book with the animals, and I feel those moments really break the hard stuff that is going on in this book. Great read. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Sourcebooks Casablanca) or author (Jennie Marts) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

How to Cowboy was an emotional, heartwarming tale that romance lovers will fall hard for! With a romance story I was rooting for, a child who captured my heart and animals I adored, this story was such a huge win! I couldn’t stop smiling, even with all of the emotion packed into the pages. And the tears falling at times. So if you’re a fan of adult romance, then you definitely need this book in your life!
“You okay?” Nora whispered.
Her heart tore in two as he blinked back tears. But then he slowly nodded. She wanted to go to them, to take both of them into her arms and tell them everything would be okay. But it wouldn’t be okay. Not for Allie. Not for a very long time.

Cade hadn’t spent much time with his daughter, Allie. But when Allie’s mother suddenly passed away in a car accident, Cade found himself bringing his daughter back to the ranch. Being so far away from the city, he hired a traveling physical therapist. Nora moved in next to them to help Allie recover from the accident. And nothing was easy. There was so much emotional healing that had to take place for all three of them. But with time, friendship patience, love and animals, this book sailed fabulously into a happily ever after!
She clutch the towel to her chest. “My heart is still racing.”
“Your heart is racing? Darlin’, I’m the one who just missed out on seeing a naked woman having a tug-of-war with a goat.”
That was it. A laugh burst from her, and she couldn’t stop.

I was obsessed with Cade! He was strong, sexy, seductive without even trying and he had a heart of gold! And while he was sure when it came to horses, and working on his cousin’s horse rescue ranch, he wasn’t so sure when it came to his thirteen year old daughter. He was in over his head at times and it felt like he had to walk on egg shells. Thankfully Allie quickly connected with Nora. And Cade felt something when it came to Nora too. Yes there was an instant attraction. But there was something more. With each passing moment that they were near each other, it became harder to deny the chemistry and longing between the two of them!
He leaned down and softly grazed her lips with his— not quite a kiss but enough to feel the soft catch of her breath and the delicious enticement of her mouth.
“What’s this going to cost me? ” he whispered, but he already knew the answer.
It was going to cost him everything.

I absolutely adored Nora! Her backstory pulled at my heart. And the way she helped Allie warmed my soul. She was so kind and caring. But she was definitely jaded from her past. So I was happy to see how quickly she warmed to country living and all of the animals. It was emotional to watch how she started to deeply care for Allie, as she helped her heal physically and emotionally. But I loved most of all how she kept feeling a pull towards Cade. They fit so seamlessly together. It was like they had always known each other. So when the first move was made, this book was a steamy, heartwarming read that I couldn’t get enough of!
They were all cracking up, and Allie shrieked with laughter as she tried to get behind Cade instead. “Help! Save me, Dad!”
Even through the squeals of laughter and with a shot of water hitting him in the chest, Cade heard the word and a crazy happiness spread through him. Allie had called him Dad, and the echo of it made his throat tight with emotion.

I loved being back in Creedence! Seeing familiar faces from not only this series but the Cowboys of Creedence warmed my heart. And while this book could easily be read as a standalone, I can’t recommend enough reading the previous books in this series. Each one is about a different couple, and I loved them all. With charm, humor and romance How to Cowboy was an instant favorite! I loved all of the characters, including the animal ones too. I loved how emotional it was having the animals bond with the humans. Tiny and Otis’ antics had me cracking up and the new addition of Scout, Daisy and Clementine was the best. So yes, this book was such a huge win and I can’t recommend it enough!

This one will tug all your heartstrings!

The story starts with Cade reconnecting with his teenage daughter as she recovers from a auto accident that killed her mother. Cade has the chance now to get to know her, but she wants nothing to do with him. Luckily, her physical therapist, Nora, has a gentleness about her that Allie can't resist. Nora is coming off an especially bad breakup, so she needs a soft place to land as well. Cade's family ranch is the perfect place for Allie to heal, for Nora to regroup, and for Cade to teach them both how to cowboy.

The family ranch is also a horse rescue facility, giving Allie the opportunity to find a kindred soul in one of the recent rescues. Throughout the story, her portrayal is achingly authentic, full of teen angst with an extra large helping of grief and a side of confusion about her conflicting memories about her father.

This is a heartwarming tale of how love is the only thing that can truly heal, as all three main characters learn to let go of their hurts and lean on each other as they forge a new family dynamic. I loved seeing the couples from the previous books, as well as other familiar local characters.

I love each of these romances, and highly recommend them for anyone who loves contemporary cowboys with lots of heart. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Seriously LOVED this new story in the Horse Rescue series! Cade's daughter is injured in the accident that killed his ex-wife, and Nora comes to the "rescue" to help as her PT. Cade is thrust into the role of sole caregiver for his daughter and tries to fight the attraction to Nora. I so enjoyed this tale of grief and redemption as these two ladies learn How to Cowboy.

Loved this book! Cade is a sexy, and somewhat damaged, cowboy working on his cousin's ranch. When his ex-wife dies, he takes in his daughter, Allie. In addition to his own feelings of inadequacy, his ex had made him having a relationship with Allie almost impossible. However, as Allie starts to fall in love with the animals, Cade realizes the depth of his love for his daughter. Nora is the the physical therapist that Cade hired to help Allie in her recovery from a car accident. Almost before they realize it, Nora and Cade begin to fall in love, even as their love for Allie grows.

As challenges are thrown at them, they struggle to see if they could become a family. Their story was engrossing and had a depth that made it interesting. I found myself engaged in their story and wanting them to get their HEA ending. This story is a winner and fans of the genre will love it - put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Loved loved this book. Cade, ex rodeo rider is living the simple life when he finds out that his ex wife died in a tragic auto accident and now has custody of his ten year old daughter, Allie. He always wanted to be part of her life but her mom prevented it from happening. Now he needs to prove to Allie that he can be the dad that he always wanted to be. Cade hires a personal physical therapist, Nora is there to help Allie regain her strength from the accident. Soon sparks will fly between Nora and Cade.

A sweet but sexy romance between Cade and Nora. Loved the relationship building between Cade, Allie and Nora. Along with the motley crew of farm animals there is plenty of laugh out moments. A few tears were shed throughout the story. I highly recommend this book!!

How to Cowboy is the third Creedence Horse Rescue novel I've read by Jennie Marts, and it's a series I've been enjoying thus far. Ms. Marts seems to have found the right formula for a sweet, sensitive, sexy, yet somewhat troubled cowboy romance, but this one was also a bit troubling as well, and so it gets 3 stars from this reader.

Cade Callahan is the cowboy in question. As the novel opens, he's in a hospital gift shop trying to find a get well gift for his 13-year-old daughter, Allie, whom he hasn't seen, called, written or visited during the past 9 years, while he's been busy on the rodeo circuit. There was an incident when Allie was a toddler, Cade blamed himself, his ex-wife blamed him even more, and she certainly rebuffed the few attempts he made to contact or see his daughter, moving frequently, and leaving Cade in the dark about their whereabouts.

Allie is in the hospital because while she was in the car with her mother, there was car crash--we never learn how, what or why it happened, but as a result, Allie's mom is dead, attempts to reach someone on the maternal side of her family failed, but the news reached Cade, and he steps up and plans to take Allie back to his ranch to heal, not an easy choice since Allie's mom had badmouthed him for years. and his 9-year absence from Allie's life, made it quite clear to Allie that he didn't care about her at all.

To Allie, her dad is a stranger, she refers to him as SD or by his first name, but at least he had the good sense to hire a physical therapist, Nora, to help Allie recover from her injuries. Nora, who was working in a hospital and living with one of the doctors there, broke off that controlling relationship, and has been living in her mother's basement ever since, and she is sorely in need of employment. While the job helping Allie is temporary, at least it's a paycheck.

The attraction between Cade and Nora is almost instantaneous--apparently she tends to fall in love easily, and into bed very quickly, as does Cade, who was kept quite busy with the buckle bunnies who followed the rodeo. While Nora seems competent, charming, funny, caring, and capable, to say that her and Cade's behavior was ill-advised and unprofessional is putting it mildly. While I like a steamy, sexy romance, I felt that in this novel it was just too much and far too soon.

There were, however, some charming, hilarious, and sweet moments as Cade tries to be the father he'd not been up until now, and also with the menagerie at the horse rescue. As therapy for the injured heart goes, it's this reader's belief that getting close to animals is a good place to start, and there's quite a assortment at the ranch, from a goat that gets into everything, to pig who likes to watch TV, injured and abandoned horses, a cat, and even a litter of puppies. While Nora and animals help Allie physically and emotionally, her father does everything he can think of to befriend, care for her, and show her that she is loved, but she's 13--injured, hurt, angry and bitter, so it's an uphill battle, especially when her late mother's sister shows up and decides to remove her from Cade's care and take her back to her home in Denver.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the funnier moments in this novel, the charming and sometimes hilarious involvement with the small town residents, and Cade's attempts to be the father he should have been all along, I felt that the sexual relationship between Cade and Nora should have taken more of a back seat to Cade's slowly building a true and lasting relationship with his daughter. Nonetheless, it was, for the most part, an enjoyable and entertaining read, with the expected HEA ending. Not a bad read, but not a great one either.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this n0vel. The opinions stated are my own.

DNF at 46%.

Cade is a former rodeo rider turned farmer. When his ex is killed in a car accident he becomes guardian to his teenage daughter Allie and responsible for her rehab. Taken away from her home, her friends, her school, and the city (and obviously having lost her mother), Allie is lashing out, especially at Cade who has barely been in contact, albeit that was more to do with his ex making it difficult rather than him not caring.

Now Cade and Allie are back on the horse rescue ranch where he works and his cousin has hired a physiotherapist to live in and help Allie get mobility back. The physio, Nora, had a catastrophic breakup which tanked her career as well as her love life, a live-in job helping a young girl to walk again, thousands of miles away seems like a great way to lick her wounds in peace.

From the moment they meet, Cade and Nora have serious sparkage, but with an injured child with abandonment issues to deal with is there any time for love?

I tried with this I really did but honestly ... Cade is fighting an uphill battle to prove to Allie that he does care and that he's in it for the long term, he loves his daughter but he *had* to leave her because of 'reasons' and he carries the guilt to this day (after nearly halfway through I don't know what happened, but I have a strong suspicion). Allie is scared he will walk away just when she's got attached so she attacks him at every opportunity. So Cade (as a mature man) is too stupid to keep it in his pants. Also, he blows hot and cold more often than my hairdryer.

And don't get me started on Nora, her entire life went up in flames because she was involved with a doctor at the hospital where she worked. So she thinks it's a good idea to sleep with the client's father?

I had to stop, I had swiped past the sex scenes but there was throbbing, wet shirts and every cliché under the sun as far as I can tell, but when Cade sleeps with Nora then shuts her down because of the aforementioned 'reasons' I started to grind my teeth.

Sorry, just not my cup of tea and I had to DNF at 46%, I can see how it's going to pan out and it's pretty predictable.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

Cade is suddenly thrusted into the role of being a full-time father to his daughter, Allie, after her mother, his ex-wife, is killed in a car crash. Allie has been injured, both physically and emotionally. Cade brings her back to his ranch to recover. He hires a live-in physical therapist to help since the ranch is a good ways from the nearest town.
Cade has not been the father he needed to be as his daughter grew up. An accident when Allie was little convinced him he wasn't competent and his ex-wife didn't help keep the relationship with his daughter close. He is convinced now that he can change and make himself a better dad. He has left his rodeo days behind and is concentrating on helping horses get adopted, among other things.
Nora, the therapist, helps Allie progress, but tries to keep Cade on a professional level. She has suffered recent trauma that left her heartbroken and broke. She is afraid to jump into a new relationship and get hurt again. Can she keep from getting close to Allie, Cade and all the wonderful people in the area?
The author shows the difficult journey all three of the main characters have had to navigate. They all have trust issues that are explored and quite relatable. I feel Cade shows the most growth during the story. He has to learn new ways of looking at life and setting the right priorities.
I loved one of the secondary characters, Aunt Sassy. She brought humor and extra loving advice to the plot
The romance has the right amount of spice and tension to make it just perfect. Although I am a fan of many sub-genres of romance, there is just something about a cowboy. Cade knows "how to cowboy" and shares his knowledge with those he cares about.
How To Cowboy was a pleasure to read. I highly recommend it any other by talented author Jennie Marts. I look forward to more new novels in the future

I've really enjoyed this series and "How to Cowboy" was a great addition to the lineup. I love getting updates about all the rescued animals they have living on the farm and hearing about their hilarious antics. And this time we get even more adorable animals added to the mix. So it's a win-win with cute animals and some romance.

Cade is the cousin of Bryn (Book 1) and is living and working at the rescue after retiring from the rodeo circuit. He was once married and has a 13 year old daughter named Allie that he hasn't had much to do with over the last 9 years. Now he's the sole parent for Allie after she and her mother were in a car accident that killed her mom. Nora is a physical therapist who has been hired to rehabilitate Allie after the accident. She's living next door to Cade/Allie on the ranch in their shared duplex, so pretty convenient for a romance. She was in a pretty bad relationship prior to coming to work with Allie, so she's not exactly trusting of her own judgment when it come to men. Yet that doesn't stop her from crossing the line with Cade, the guy who is paying her to provide PT for his daughter. I could overlook this line though since they had a patient/provider arrangement, but it was a pretty lax arrangement it seemed.

I went into this book not liking Cade after learning he had not been part of Allie's life for 9 years, at least not in a significant sense. It's hard to respect a guy who decided rodeo was more important than being around his daughter. At least that was my thinking until I learned his story. Basically, his ex was a toxic lying, manipulative, and verbally abusive woman. She did everything in her power to make him feel like he wasn't good enough to be a dad and when something happens, she makes him feel less than the dirt on the bottom of your shoe. So he decides that maybe she's right and he doesn't deserve to be a dad and he stays away. He believed the toxic crap she was spewing and it took away his relationship with Allie. Now, I still fault Cade for not fighting back (legally) and for staying away so long. He could have done something to fight for his chance to see his daughter, even when his ex tried her best to keep him away from Allie. So he does bear responsibility for the prolonged absence, but his ex bears the brunt of the responsibility given how she mentally abused Cade for years.

This book was a bit emotional at times when we saw how bad Cade was hurting when trying to deal with a grieving teenaged daughter who hated him at times. I just wanted to give him a big hug. And then the hate spewed by his ex's family also hurt my heart. But what's a book without a good villain (or two)?

My biggest complaint is that the ending seemed a bit rushed. It was a little too sunshines and rainbows to be realistic and we're left with just assuming everything will resolve itself with Cade's ex-wife's family. We get a HFN for Cade, Nora and Allie and it felt incomplete since they go from not together to together in the span of a few pages. At least give us an epilogue! I'll keep reading the series since I'm interested to see if Jillian and the Deputy are next up.

The previous books in the series were 5-star reads for me, so of course I dived right into this story when it became available. I knew of Cade from the previous books, but I didn't know his story. A former rodeo star sidelined by his injuries, Cade is at his cousin's rescue farm looking out for his estranged daughter who is recovering from her injuries and wants nothing to do with him.

I am always weary of children in romance books because they can either detract from the romance or they add nothing to the story. Thankfully, the author did a great job with Allie's character. I enjoyed the development of her relationship with both Cade and Nora and how it added to the story as a whole.

As with the previous books in the series, the author did a great job balancing humor with a wide range in emotions. The blossoming romance between Nora and Cade was sweet and charming with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. I enjoyed their candid conversations and shared camaraderie. It helped that their attraction to each other was obvious and that their chemistry sizzled whenever they interacted. I appreciated the fact that although these two were attracted to each other from the get-go, their romance didn't read as insta-love. Their connection was evident and I soon found myself invested in their romance.

I also appreciated the chance to visit with Bryn and Zane, Elle, Brody and their daughter and getting to see the animals on the farm. This cast of characters (animals included!) helped to add lightness to the story while at the same time bringing forth healing for Cade and Allie relationship.

Although this is book 3 in the Creedence Horse Rescue series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone since it focuses on Cade, Allie and Nora and the bond that is growing between them.

All in all, a fantastic addition to the series. I can't wait to see what Jennie Marts comes up with for Ethan's story!!

After too many injuries and the goal of reconnecting with his estranged daughter, Cade Callahan, returned to his grandfather's ranch to help his cousin Bryn with the Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue Ranch, though it is not only horses they rescue. Bryn has such a large heart that she welcomes all creatures, even the two legged ones. But after a tragic accident that left this wife dead and his daughter seriously injured. Cade finds himself the custodial parent. He had been convinced by his ex that he was a no good parent and she had pushed him out of their daughter,Allie's life, also lying about doing so and claiming that he was abusive and did not want to be a parent. Not aware of this, he tries very hard to help his daughter and show her unconditional love. Enter, Nora, a physical therapist, who he hired for Allie. Nora has her own issues, but bonds immediately with both Allie and Cade, not only helping Allie physically, but helps heal the rift between daughter and Dad. Lots of humor, great characters, amusing animals and beautiful scenery descriptions. The two things I didn't like was, considering the relationship that Nora had just escaped, I think that they "got naked" too early. Also, Cade should certainly know better than to take a shower during a thunderstorm. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it.

I read an ARC from the publisher, via NetGAlley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Cade can teach me how to cowboy any day. Delicious. Alas, he’s already given his heart to his daughter Allie and her physical therapist, Nora. Transition is the theme. Case has to learn how to be a father amd Allie needs to realize the world doesn’t always work out like we want. Nora needs to show more caution before rushing headlong into new romances. I have to say, the animals took center stage, again. From the adorable puppies, to the prissy pig, horses, and the wily goat who can change tv channels, they were the stars, allowing the humans to have some of the attention. Come to Colorado and see if you can get your cowboy. Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the early copy.

Cade was married to Amber and they had a daughter. When Amber divorced him she took Allie, their daughter, and made excuses every time he wanted his daughter to come visit. However, she told Allie that her dad did not want her and that he wanted no parts of her growing up.

Now that Amber has died in an accident and Allie was hurt as well. Cade is trying to make it up to Allie. He takes her to Bryn's ranch where he has been living in the bunkhouse and working on the horse rescue there.

A really good book that I think you will enjoy. I know that I could not put it down.

Jennie Marts has a new cowboy romance out and it may be her best so far. Cade Callahan is a hard worn rodeo rider sidelined by injuries when his ex-wife dies and he’s left in charge of Allie, his thirteen-year-old daughter. Only problem is Cade has been out of the picture for most of Allie’s life. Now he needs to step up and be the dad he should have been all along.

Nora Fisher arrives at the horse rescue ranch where Cade and Allie are living, hired as the full-time physical therapist needed to rehabilitate the Allie as she heals from injuries sustained in the crash that killed her mom. But she didn’t expect to be attracted to the girl’s ruggedly handsome dad.

Rehabilitation is a theme here as Cade tries to undo the mistakes of his past, Nora wonders if she can ever trust her heart again, and Allie struggles to reconcile this cowboy dad with the terrible man her mother always made him out to be.

In their own ways they are all learning ‘How to Cowboy’, and the reader is enjoying the ride. It’s refreshing to follow the twists and turns of this story. Sure, it’s got the romance tropes down, but it also has some fancy rope work of its own. Hang on tight and don’t put this one down to the very end.

Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue is the setting for another poignant and sweet romance in Jennie Marts' Creedence Horse Rescue series. Former rodeo cowboy Cade Callahan gets a second chance to be the great father he needs to be for his injured daughter Allie who has lost her mother, Cade's ex-wife, in the auto accident that injured Allie. Add in out-of-a-job physical therapist Nora Fisher, hired to help Allie's recovery, to the mix and you have a wonderful story. I really like all the characters in this series. Plus you never know what crazy event will happen next - Nora's animal rescue comes to mind. I love this author's voice and look forward to more stories written by her.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

How to Cowboy is the third title in the Creedence Horse Rescue series, and it brings us such an emotionally gripping romance between an unlikely couple trying to help a young pre-teen whose entire world has just imploded.

Cade suddenly finds himself back in his pre-teenage daughter’s life when she is injured in the car crash that killed her mother. Allie has been told a lot of things about her absent father during her life, little of it actually true. When Allie was tiny, Cade made a mistake, one his ex-wife never let him forget and after their divorce kept him out of his daughter’s life by refusing to allow him to see Allie or by moving constantly so that he has no idea where they are. He could have fought harder, and he admits that but guilt let him believe all the lies his ex-wife was saying about him and he didn’t want to disrupt his daughter’s life. Now they have to somehow come together as a family as Allie heals physically and emotionally… and for that Cade’s going to need professional help like Nora.

Nora has just come out of a bad breakup, is living in her mother’s basement, and desperately needs a job and a new direction. As a traveling physical therapist, she’s perfect for the job of tending to Allie’s physical needs, and her emotional ones as well. She didn’t count on an intense, instant attraction to Cade but this job and these people could change her life… if she’s willing to take a few risks in trusting her heart. We’ll also run into some familiar faces, citizens of this small town… and the most adorable, cantankerous animals imaginable on the ranch. I love returning to the Creedence Horse Rescue world.

How to Cowboy was a fun, emotional, sexy romance with each of the three main characters having some serious issues to be dealt with… Allie in particular. How do you reach a young girl who feels abandoned by her father, was lied to for years, and has lost the security of her mother? Not by calling her dead mother a liar that’s for sure. I loved how Cade stepped up into his father role, faced the past, and worked to earn his daughter’s trust and eventual love. Nora had a lot to do with that happening, and their relationship was a bumpy road to the happy ending they both deserved. I enjoyed returning to this world, the story is smooth and well-written, the plot interesting, the secondary characters make the world come alive, and the animals are always good for some adorable and mischievous moments. If you enjoy a good story, believable characters, and unique situations then this one should be on your need-to-read list.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I LOVE the cowboys at Creedence! This book is steamy in places so a word of warning if you don't care for that but the story is such a tenderhearted tale of redemption and second chances. Be prepared to fall into the spell that is Creedence and the cowboys and the magic that this series has. I can't wait for the next installment!

Cade's ex-wife (Amber) and daughter (Allie) are in a car accident and Amber passes away. Cade goes and gets his daughter from the hospital and takes her back to the ranch (farm) where he works with his cousin rescuing animals that have been abandoned, injured or mistreated. Cade hasn't been in touch with his daughter on a regular basis as Amber would be quick to accuse him of his failings and he believes it. Years ago before the split, Cade was watching his daughter when she fell down a short flight of stairs. Allie gets a cut on her forehead that bleeds a lot so he rushes Allie to the hospital. That was all Cade needed to believe Amber. He felt like an unfit father.

Nora is a therapist hired to work with Allie to recover from her injuries. She has recently moved back into her mother's basement apartment. She too is feeling like a failure. Her breakup with her surgeon fiancé has left her with nothing but a fancy coffee maker!

You can see the immediate spark between Cade and Nora but they tread carefully with the sullen and snarky teenager around. Can Cade and Nora both overcome their different pasts and build something meaningful? Will Cade and Allie repair their broken relationship and forgive past hurts to forge a father-daughter relationship? Will outside forces split this trio up? Well you will have to read for yourself.

Again this was such a tender story but full of some great humorous scenes! Characters from the past two stories make multiple appearances here but you don't have to read them to fully understand and enjoy this story. I would highly recommend it though as you will love them like I did.

I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed each one! I was excited to read How to Cowboy and returned to the town of Creedence and the wonderful people and animals, that I have become fond of in books one and two.

This book is not only a romance, but also a reuniting of father and daughter, who do not know each other very well. The situation that leads to this is a heartbreaking accident, but it gives both Cade and his thirteen year old daughter, Allison a second chance at becoming a family again. It is a touching plot in the book and I was rooting for both of them to heal and accept the love offered from the other.

Of course, since this is a romance, there is definitely a connection between the therapist in town to help Allison, and Cade. Their story was a joy to read, since they both needed to find strength to move forward, after a past that was haunting them, which they found in each other.

I am sad that is this the final book in this series. I will miss reading about a pig, Tiny, that thinks she is a dog, a mini-horse named Shamus, that can escape his corral at will, and a goat, Otis that is always up to trouble. I look forward to the next series that Jennie Marts creates.

I want to thank Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for giving me the pleasure of reading the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

I cannot get enough of this series and the people in it. Cade has been alone for a long time - and hasn't had a positive relationship with the mother of his teenaged daughter. As a result - he hasn't had much of a relationship with his daughter either. In the last year he has given up his rodeo days and returned to the family property to help his cousin with her ranch and rescue. He's been renovating a house on the property to have room for his daughter to visit and has been trying to build that relationship back up. When his ex dies in an accident that also injures his daughter - he is left with a hurting teenager.

Nora is a physical therapist who needs a fresh start after a disastrous relationship. She arrives at the ranch to help Cade's daughter - and along the way they all end up helping each other.

I loved so much about this book. I loved especially that Allie, Cade's daughter is a very real teenager - and the way she acts and reacts is 100% authentic to her character and her personality. Cade is also a great character. He is tough and strong - and really trying to do the work to get closer to his daughter. The fact that he never says a bad word about her mom is a pretty amazing thing - particular given he way he was treated.

Overall - I loved this one and hope that there is more to come for this series.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

It was so great to return to this horse rescue ranch again
To read about Allie and all of her pain.
This thirteen year old was injured in a crash
Her Mum sadly died so now her Dad's there in a flash.

The problem with that is that it is years since they met
She's hurting, grieving and not sure of him yet.
She's a city girl but now he takes her to his home
Where horses, goats, cats and dogs all roam.

Nora Fisher, a physical therapist, arrives, too,
Employed to help Allie recover and pull through.
Nora has escaped after a troublesome spell
Will this help her heal, too? Only time will tell.

With teenage angst, anger and pain
Can this daughter and Dad reconnect again?
Will Nora find how to heal her heart
And will they all together help them make a fresh start?

The story has characters, animal and human, too,
Who'll have you laughing at their antics and what they do!
I really enjoyed returning to Creedence and hope you will, too,
As I highly recommend this heartwarming read to you.

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

4.5 Stars ⭐️

I love it when a book exceeds my expectations! How To Cowboy was one such book. I’m a sucker for both single dads and cowboys, so reading this was a no brainer.

My heart went out to Cade and his daughter, Allie and everything they went through. Watching them bond and find their way back to each other with Nora’s help, was very sweet. I was rooting for them from page one.

What surprised me most was how much I enjoyed the whole motley crew of animals and humans, front and center in this story. Although secondary characters, they made this the unputdownable romance read that it is.

I’m giving How To Cowboy the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. I look forward to reading more books by this author, TBR and Enjoy!

How to Cowboy is the third book in the Creedence Horse Rescue series by Jennie Marts. I've read a couple of books by this author in the past, and I know I will get a good solid story; this book is no exception. I didn't read the first two books, but I had no trouble following along. I'm happy to find out that I have the first two to read in my TBR pile, as I would love to learn more about the previous couples involved in the Creedence Horse Rescue series. This is a lovely story that is perfect for this time of year. It's not a holiday story, but the strong family theme will make your heart melt.

Cade Callahan was a bull rider in the rodeo, but too many injuries put an end to his career; he now works at his cousin's Heaven Can Wait Horse Rescue Ranch. His life is pleasant, but then he's thrown for a loop when his estranged daughter Allie is involved in a horrific motor vehicle accident and is placed in his custody. Allie, 13 years old, wants nothing to do with Cade. Her mother and family did nothing but disparage him to his daughter which colored her relationship with him; however, Cade acknowledges that he didn't work very hard in the past trying to become close to her. Allie needs physical therapy, so therapist Nora Fisher is hired to work with her. Nora was living in her mother's basement after a bad breakup, so she's happy for this new job and hopes she can make a difference in this young girl's life. Sparks, of course, fly between Cade and Nora, plus the three of them begin to form into a sort of family. Will their pasts come back to bite them in their behinds?

This is one of those stories that will make you run a gamut of emotions from anger, pain, and tears to happiness. Cade was a great hero. He acknowledged his part in being estranged from his daughter, yet he also had to deal with the fallout from the way his former in-laws and ex-wife spoke about him to Allie. I'm very close to a man who dealt with the same type of situation, and it's heartbreaking. I'm just flummoxed how one ex can treat another that way, and using a child to do it. So Cade had to deal with that issue, never mind the pain and loss that his daughter was feeling. I had to struggle to like Allie for a while, due to brattiness, though I understood her motivation for her behavior. It almost killed me alongside Cade to find out what she meant when she referred to him as SD. But it was wonderful to see the two of them build a real relationship between them, with a great deal of help from Nora. I just adored Nora! She was caring, funny and did everything she could to help father and daughter to move past the hurts both suffered. I especially loved the hose fight between the three; it was hysterical and sweet. The steam between Cade and Nora was palpable and physical times were intense, but they did not overshadow the heart of the family in this book. There were some beastly supporting characters that I loved...real beasts. We had Otis the Goat, Tiny the Pig and Scout the Dog to liven things up and make you go awwwwwwwwww; and of course, there were plenty of horses to love. I look forward to catching up with the rest of this series, and I will definitely read new works by this author.

I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
